Yoga 10 HD+ OTA Update Failed (140507)

Via System Update yesterday, I attempted to update my tablet but it failed during installation.
Has anyone else had the update fail? Anyone apply it successfully? Any word on what the update does?

This release updates some framework around Play services.
I updated six tablets this morning without issue.  I'd recommend resetting to factory defaults, then trying the OTA again.  If it still fails, let me know.  We'll capture some logs and take a closer look.
Full disclosure: Lenovo issues my paychecks.

  • OTA Update failed for Lenovo S856

I opted to install the OTA Update which is shown to be available. After downlaoding about 75MB of data, the phone gets restarted, the Android OS Upgrading screen comes, and then an error message apears. I only have the option to restart the device. Once restarting, the launcher is loaded and OTA Update Failed to Install message comes. Is there any solution to get rid of this problem? And is Lollipop 5.1 Update coming to Lenovo S856? Thanks in advance.. Any support is welcome!

  • Maps OTA update fails, X6

Every time I've tried to update the maps OTA it fails. Other apps have updated fine. I'd really like to get the latest version, I don;t have a cable at the moment for updating from PC.
    Nokia N8 on Belle

You need to uninstall the older version first from settings>application manager and start the update again. Just to let you know map data of other countries, voice and drive guidance you downloaded before will be deleted. Synchronise your directions, landmarks etc with Ovi before performing the update. Good luck.

  • IOS 6.1.2 OTA update failed while 6.1.3 available

Recently my iPad (an iPad 2) asked me to download iOS 6.1.2 using OTA update, which I did, but did not installed the update right after.
Now iOS 6.1.3 is available and I'd like to update, but the iPad only wants to install 6.1.2 and fails while trying yo validate the update. It tells me that I'm not connected to internet, but I am.
My guess is that the signing window for iOS 6.1.2 is closed, therefore the update cannot be validated, but the iPad doesn't seems to be checking for newer versions.
Is there any way I can bypass 6.1.2 install and get strait to 6.1.3 ?
I know I can still use iTunes to do that but I'd really like to avoid downloading a whole iOS update.
    Michael

I work in a school where we have over 600 ipads, this became a problem for us as well.  I did find that if you continue to wifi settings select the network you are joined to, forget the network that you are on, turn the ipad off, restart ipad, rejoin your network, and then try update software again the ipad will change to IOS 6.1.3 instead of IOS 6.1.2 during the "verify error" stage everyone is getting.  There were a few ipads that I had to follow these steps a couple of times before it finally "skipped" the IOS 6.1.2 update and changed to the IOS 6.1.3 update.  Once the change occurs at top of screen, the installation will work as intended.  Have now used this workaround about 30 times and and it has worked everytime.  Hope this helps.

  • IOS OTA update failed, now iPad wants to restore, but that fails too

After successfully doing the iOS 5.0.1 update on my iPhone via OTA, I started the process with my iPad2. After a while it appeared to have stalled, but I had to go out, so I left it, assuming it would be done when I got back. As it turns out, when I returned my iPad was asking to be connected to iTunes via USB. When connected, I got the message that it needed to be restored...
So, I've now tried restoring it about 4 times - the progress bar on the iPad gets about 2/3 of the way and then stalls for a long time, and then I get a message in iTunes that the restore didn't work. I've disconnected all other USB devices. I've rebooted my iMac. My iMac is fully up to date (OS, iTunes, etc)
Any ideas what I can do to get my iPad restored so I can then restore from backup and retry the iOS update (connected to the iMac this time)?
    Thanks,
    Scott

I sure disagree with the journanlists reporting Over The Air Updates working well.
We all have different experiences. I had the issue that you report when I upgraded to iOS 5. I eventually had to put my iPad in recovery mode to get the upgrade to complete. I did not have any issue with the iOS 5.0.1 update. I did not use OTA, I used USB, so my Mac downloaded the entire 750 MB iOS file and I was still updated in less than 10 minutes. The OTA update should normally also be about 10 minutes as the file is a 50 MB incremental update. I do not think that many folks had your issue because we are not being swamped by reports of the issue here in the ASC as we would be if the issue was widespread. So the journalists seem to have it right, it appears to have gone smoothly for most folks, however they updated.

  • ThinkPad Yoga 12 System Update fails to install fixes

I have been having the famous floating cursor problem using OneLink Doc and external monitor, mouse and keyboard. So I decided to run System Update (5.06.0034) to see if anything appropriate would inbstall. SU downloaded 4 fixes, and I selected all to install. The fixes downloaded, installation began and all fixes immediately showed "installation failed".
Therer was a manual update available in the failure message, but clicking on it did not cause anything to happen.
    The fixes displayed were
    - Lenovo Power Management Driver 1.67.10.4002
    - Lenovo Settings Dependency Package 2.3.3.41
    - Installed camera Driver for Realtek 6.2.9200.10252
    - ThinkPad BIOS Update (non-Vpro) 1.24.1.24
I went to downloads and downloaded and manually installed Lenovo Power Management Driver and Lenovo Settings Dependency Package (restarts required).
I ran SU and it showed only the BIOS update needed. I tried again to install and got the same failure.
I went back to downloads and the only BIOS update was 1.08, not 1.24.1.24. I tried to install it anyway and the install failed due to  "The process does not recognize this system. The process has been canceled."
I tried uninstalling SU and reinstalling and restart, I ran SU, downloaded and tried to install the BIOS and SU immediately displayed "installation failed".
So I have a couple of problems. SU is not working and I don't know where to look to try to determine the installation problem. The BIOS update info does not match up between SU and the downloads page.
Any ideas on where to look for the SU failure to install fixes? Do I need the BIOS?. I checked and my current BIOS shows as LENOVO GQET43WW (1.23), 1/21/2015.

  • B8000 10" OTA update failed

    Hello,
I receive a notification fort updating my tablette. After downloading, the system start the updating ans stopped after few minute with an error: update. zip dors notre exist.
Is someone had a solution for me.
    Thanks.

Yes, I will accept your apology, as I am not a person that holds grudges:-) I really can't speak for Adobe on support other than what is provided. I happen to think that the Adobe Flash Player forum is one of the best forums and as most forums it is a User to User. Also the Search feature on every Adobe Forum is very helpful. But there are not Employees that are on the Flash Player forum on a regular basis. They have the paid support if someone wants that.
This latest update was mainly Security related just as Windows updates are most of the time. The main problems that occur
with Flash Player on a computer are due to the browser addons that conflict either with the browser itself or Flash Player or other addons. Believe me when I tell you that I spend more time with those than Flash Player. Consider if a user has Installed Flash Player and when we check the Flash folder and find all files are correct and we check the ActiveX Control for IE or the plugin for non-IE and those are correct, and there is still a problem, how can it be Flash Player? It isn't, it can't be. And that is
what troubleshooting is all about, finding the cause. What can we say, well your problem is because you have Flash Player Installed correctly?
Perhaps the Troubleshooting guide doesn't answer your issue, but I don't know that and try to ask the most important question first:Administrator Acccount. Nothing else matters if a user doesn't have that. Granted, maybe you know that, but I didn't and I need to know. I need to have my questions asked since I have a reason and all of your answers along the way, I am making an assessment, ruling this out, rulling this in, etc. If I don't know something, I'll tell you.
I know of nothing comparable to Flash Player. Where do you go from here? Nowhere, you are in the best place there is for Flash Player help. You just need to cooperate. If I need help, I have excellent contacts offline. So it is up to you what you want to do.
    Thanks,

  • IPad fails to connect to WiFi after OTA update to iOS 6

After the OTA update to iOS 6 my new iPad fails to connect to my WiFi network at home. My LANCOM router reports the following issue:
    Index: 62294
    Zeit: 19.09.2012 21:08:28
    Interface: WLAN-1
Ereignis: Rejected Association from WLAN station xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx []: ()
    Adresse: xxxxxxxxxxxx
Grund: Cannot support all requested capabilities in Capability Information field
It has worked flawlessly in the past with iOS 5 on my new iPad and iPhone 4. At the moment I hestitate to update my iPhone too.
Anyone with the same issue or an idea how to fix it?
Thanks in advance, greetings from Stuttgart (Germany),

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

  • I've been trying for 2 weeks to update my iPhone 4S (7.0.6) to iOS 7.1 OTA but it fails all the time...telling me software update failed..I need some support pls!!

The problem occurres after the downloading is complete and when its in "Preparing Update" procedure and specfically in its last progress (near the end). Suddenly a message pop ups saying that "Software Update Failed" \n "An error occured downloading iOS 7.1."
I've restarted the update process for the 20 th time!!! and reset my iphone twice to factory settings, but still nothing change, same error occures...
    My iPhone specs
    Version : 7.0.6 (11B651)
    Model : MD235AE/A

Did it work for you with iTunes?
I have the same problem with my iPad mini. I have done almost all updates of my iOS devices OTA.
    I never update issues before.
Also iPad 2 and iPhone 5 just worked fine.
Only now my iPad mini struggles with the update. Did a factory reset too.
And now have iOS 7.0.2 (11A501) on an iPad Model MD543FD/A.
World prefer OTA instead of iTunes.
    Thank you for any help.

  • Phone fails installing OTA update to KitKat, why?

I have a RAZR MAXX HD that has been bugging me to do the OTA update for weeks. when it tries to do the update it fails (Droid down after reboot)
So I figured I'd just do a factory reset on the phone and it should work. Nope, same problem, so after pointlessly wiping my phone, my update still fails, and still bugs me to do it.  Any suggestions? I could try loading the update from the SD card, but it's just the same file trying to do the same update...

Well, here's what I had to do to get the update.
(I always recommend a factory reset for large updates)
Downloaded the rom from motorola VZW_XT926_4.4.2-KDA20.62-10.1_CFC_1FF.xml.zip
    uncompressed it and ran RSDScriptGenerator.jar
    Installed RSDLite 6.1.6
Loaded in recovery mode and reset phone.
Switched to fastboot mode and connected to my computer
    flashed the script with RSD
Probably not the easiest or recommended method to get the OTA update. but this is what I had to do to get it.
On the plus side, my battery life improved. Not sure if it was from the factory reset or update though.  Anyone needing to follow my route can google "How To:XT926 Upgrade to KitKat OTA"

  • SD Card Slot Failed on K1 After OTA Update

My SD card was working fine with the original Lenovo code (that rebooted every hour or so),  but once I took an OTA update,  SD cards can no longer be mounted or formatted.   It knows there is a card in there, because the "Mount" and "Erase" options become visible,  but neither actually mounts or formats the card.
External USB storage does work,   and I have tested the SD before the external USB was mounted,  while it was mounted,  and after it was dismounted and removed.   The SD card is inaccessible in all cases.   It works fine in my Mac.
    I tried a 16gb formatted FAT32 and a 1gb formatted FAT16.
    Running K1_A301_02_02_110725_US
Anything else I can try before I send it in for service?   Any idea how long that will take?

With all the free space the 32gb K1 has, I never had the need for an SD card.
I'll try a spare card of mine and see if it works for me.

  • OTA update for A10-70 failed "no command"

I just updated using the OTA update available for my A10-70 and when it rebooted, it says "No command" .  I can get to the recovery, and I tried doing a factory reset on it, but the tablet still won't boot.  Any ideas?  Is there a factory image I can use somewhere to do the adb sideload?  I'm stuck.

Well, I found the rar file, but how on earth do I install this thing?  I tried looking at the instructions on their website (translated into english) but there's missing screenshots and the russian doesn't really translate well into technical instructions.
    ROM: http://bit.ly/1qBphja
The only options for me on the tablet when it boots up is going into recovery (can't connect via ADB), or going into the "apply update from ADB) which gives me access for ADB Sideload,  or going into fastboot (can't connect via ADB).  In a nutshell, where do I need to be when I run the flash tool?

  • Droid Razr M: KitKat Update Fail

I have tried to update my Droid Razr M with the OTA KitKat update and it fails every time.  It downloads fine, but only installs about 25% then goes to the Android laying on his back with a exclamation point.  It then restarts and says, "Software Update Failed".  I have tried several times and even done a hard reset and it still fails.  Please help.

Uneventful update:  My stock red Motorola M had been gone since I tried to (removed)  I had thought (mistakenly) that this indicated my system was corrupted but now I realize the logo is just that...an image.
Before the rest of you posted, I believed that if I did a hard reset, Kitkat would load.  But apparently that is not the case.
