Yoga 10 wifi connection stability / loose router contact

I use my yoga 10 on several locations where the different routers are set to the same network id/password. The issue applies to all locations (ie different routers of different make).
The yoga 10 connects well to wifi when turned on (blue wifi notification), but looses connection within a minute or so (wifi notification dark gray).
The (not so) quick workaround is to
- open settings (scroll finger from notification area) - here WLAN is green
- Turn WLAN off (gray)
- Turn WLAN on (green again)
- Close quick settings
- Wait for WiFi notofication to turn white, then blue
and browse for about a minute again - then repeat.
What makes the Yoga 10 to loose connection ?
Why does it not reconnect automatically ?
How to fix ?
PS WiFi connection is 3-4 bars, mostly 4 (=100%)

Same problem here on yoga 8, wireless routers with same SSID and password in different locations will suddenly disconnect and appear out of range. Most times I have to forget the ssid, turn off Wlan, reboot the router then switch on wlan and set up the connection again. This is not a minor glitch and does not happen on any of my other android devices, I was hoping the 4.4.2-01-021 build would fix this but no such luck. I really like the yoga 8 design but along with other stupid basic problems I.e.google maps I'm begining to think I've brought a polished turd.

how can i fix my wifi connection with my router?

I think I'm having a similar problem, my wifi disconnects when a bluetooth device is connected to the MBA.
I have a MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2012) with WiFi and Apple Trackpad.  I'm unable to use the trackpad(bluetooth) and wifi at the same time.  If I turn off the trackpad then the wifi works fine and if I shutoff the wifi then the trackpad works fine.  This configuration was working fine prior to upgrading to Yosemite.
I experienced the same problem at home and at the office.
    Additional test:
I turned off the bluetooth trackpad and connected my bluetooth headphones to the MBA.  The wifi disconnected as soon as I paired the headphones with the MBA.
I have had no problems with the MBA's keyboard or integrated trackpad.

  • !TRIED EVERYTHING! PLEASE HELP! Lenovo thinkpad twist super slow WIFI connect to home router

I love my twist i just wish my wifi would work at home!
It connects and works fine at public places
At home it takes forever to connect maybe have to try 5 times taking 5-7minutes and it will disconnect sometimes if computer goes black
I have : lenovo thinkpad twist s230u with windows 8
    I have a : Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter
    I have a : Broadcom driver 6.30.59.26
Troubleshooting that i have already tried: adjusting wifi power settings, downloading lenovo driver
    PLEASE HELP

I would try plugging the laptop directly into your cable modem, thus by-passing the router, and check your connection speed.  Next, connect the router to the cable modem and plug the laptop directly into the router by cable. Compare your connection speeds.  If both work fine by cable, then I think your wifi on the home router isn't broadcasting/working.  You say the wifi connects at work/public, which leads me to believe it is not your laptop wifi card.  What is your wifi signal strength from your home network? work? public?

  • A1000 Wifi connection stability issue

I just received this A1000F tablet on last Friday. The wifi connection randomly stops responding, while the notification bar show it as connected. When it occurs, router activity panel reports it as inactive. Switching wifi ON/OFF on the tablet restores the connection for a random limited time. I tried many Wifi authentication setups without sucess. My other devices as Airport Express, Acer Laptop and Sony Xperia U work flawlessy with connection staying up for days without any simmilar issue. Device has been updated to latest available upgrade (Settings > About Device > System upgrade)
    Kind regards

Experiencing this problem too but with some routers only

  • Wifi connection with netgear router DG824M - one solution

I have had some problems with connecting iphone via wifi with my home router
    Netgear DG824M
I'm still having a problem with the encryption issue but have at least found one solution to another security issue and thought it might help others so i am posting:-
If you have mac address filtering turned on (netgear describes this as only "trusted PC's" can connect) , you may find that you get an IP Address clash when you try to connect your iphone (or some other apple equipment)
I found that this resolved if i selected an "reserved IP address" for the iphone - in my casei chose 192.168.0.10 (since the router allows up to .51)
(the phone otherwise took 192.168.0.3 which clashed with another device)
This was not an issue when "trusted pc's" feature was turned off on the router

Ok guys. This is the simple way i used to connect my iPhone to my Netgear router.
    1. In your iPhone, go to Settings>General>About. Then, scroll down to "Wi-Fi Address". This is your MAC address. This you will need in order to authorize your phone in your Netgear page (which usually looks something like XXX.XXX.X.X (where "X" are numbers)).
    2. Log in to you Netgear page.
    3. On the blue left panel of the screen, click on "Wireless Settings". A new page comes up.
    4. Click on "Setup Access List".
    5. Click on "Add" to enter the require info needed for your phone to gain access to your network.
    6. On "Device Name" I entered "iPhone". This name is irrelevant for i named my iPhone differently and using just "iPhone" worked. So enter whatever name you wish, but keep it simple.
    7. Now, on "Mac Address" (the single most important info here) enter the number you obtained in Step 1. Make sure you enter it with the colons (:).
    8. Add and apply, and wait for the blue bar at the top of the screen to do its thing. It will take only a few seconds to update the network.
    That's all! Connect and enjoy!
I hope this was helpful. Let me know if it worked at [email protected]

  • Lenovo Yoga 10 HD+ WIFI connection stability issue

Same problem here but on Lenovo Yoga 10 HD+ 3G:
After a few minutes the connection is gone though the tablet shows its still there at full level. Disabling / Enabling WIFI on the tablet makes it reconnect. On the same router e.g. Lenovo Yoga 8 Wifi Edition, Samsung Galaxy S3 and S3 mini all work fine and do keep the connection. Tested with latest firmware released OTA yesterday.
Also tried the Yoga 10 HD+ on two other WLAN routers where it worked fine.
Any ideas except for buying a new router?
Moderator Note; post moved to start new thread on specific system

I'm having the very same problem. I bought a Lenovo Yoga 10 tablet about a week ago and updated it to 4.4.2 (B8000_A442_001_021_140703_WW_WIFI) yesterday and ever since then, my wifi kicks out when I'm browsing, reading emails, checking twitter etc just all of a sudden and I have to disable and re-enable my Wifi for it to work again (aprox. 5-20 minutes until I have to reconnect again). I've not changed anything in my router settings (Netgear CG3100) since the upgrade and every other computer, tablet and phones that we have in our house runs all fine, it's just the Yoga tablet where I have this issue with. I really hope an update/fix could be pushed as soon as possible since it's unbearable to use it right now and I might just have to return it to the shop in exchange for another tablet, which I don't really want (love the battery life).
Eitherway, I'd be thankful for any help/fix or responds from Lenovo.

  • Nokia n95 wifi connect to the router no getway rep...

i have nokia n95 i have a wofi router i want to connect my router ti using browsing when i connect the wifi to the router the message " no getway reply" so  i need to full configration so pls help
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

There may be a few ways to go around this.
-Perhaps you may try opening the web browser > options > clear privacy data > all.
-If this does not help then go to the menu > tools > settings > connections > access points > scroll down to the router and delete the access point and try using the WLAN wiz to redefine the access point.
Mark me a KUDOS if this has helped...

  • IPhone5s not getting wifi connectivity using iBaton router-BSNL broad band

I have been using my IPhone5s over BSNL Wifi router and due to some erro I have replaced the same with iBaton router. After replacing it I am  not able to connect my Iphone to the wifi. I have used the normal method to search the wifi router and keyed in the wifi password, but the Iphone5s is not getting connected to wifi (its always in search mode). I am able to connect my laptop and Samsung S3 with out any difficulty and can browse the sites. I have tried few methods found over the net to connect the Iphone using static ip, though for few seconds the phone is getting connected to the wifi, it again goes back to the search mode of wifi

  • Iphone wifi connection - crashes my router

i'm gonna say that 99% chance it is a router setting for my home network but my issue is - when my iphone accesses my wireless router it works for about 45 sec to a minute then the routers internet light goes from green to yellow - killing the internet connection to my whole home network, other wireless items work fine until this happens including a laptop and a playstation 3. when the iphone kills my connection i have to go into the phone set up and turn off the wifi. then my router will come back to normal and all internet activity resumes. i can connect wifi on several other wifi systems like where i work and a few places that i eat lunch at. it only kills my home system - i'm hoping someone else has run into this and has a fix. i am using a Linksys WRV54G router and ATT DSL. phone is iphone 3gs with software version 3.1.3...
    Thanks Bruce..

    I have a similar problem:
    I have a Linksys Wireless-G VPN router (WRV54G firmware ver. 2.39.2e)
It’s been working fine with my 3 wireless laptop PCs for years.
I’ve recently purchased an Apple 3GS iPhone.
I’ve been successfully able to configure my iPhone wirelessly to my router, but whenever I attempt to watch videos on my
iPhone (YouTube, News Apps, etc.) It drops my wireless connection to my iPhone and all my wireless PCs. I have to go and turn the router off and on again.
Is this a Linksys issue or iPhone issue? Any suggestions on how to resolve this?

  • Powerbook G4 WiFi connection to netgear router

I have recently bought a Powerbook G4 12 inch which is running OSX 10.2.3
I've installed an Airport Extreme card and want to connect to my Netgear WiFi router but don't know how to start.
I'm new to mac and have only used a laptop previously so sorry for my extreme ignorance.
Some of the other discussions mention a WiFi icon but I can't see this anywhere and so I'm not sure if the airport card is working or not but I suspect not.
Any help to get me started please
The G4 connects via the ethernet cable without any problems

You can check for the presence of the Airport card by going into System Profiler (I think that's the name, not sure because 10.2.3 is a bit old). Also, if the Airport wifi icon is not on the menu bar, go into your System Preferences, click Network, make sure the Airport network interface is enabled, and there should be a setting in there for displaying the Airport icon in the menu bar, that might not be turned on.
Once it appears, you should be able to click the Airport icon to reveal a menu with wifi networks within range, and select the name of your network in the list. It shouldn't be difficult. You should also be able to connect from inside the Network system preference, but using the Airport icon in the menu bar is easier.

  • Slow WiFi Connection With New Router TP-Link W8960N

    Hi Apple Support,
A few weeks ago I've purchased a TP-Link TD-W8960N wireless modem router so that I can share my WiFi internet with the following devices:
~ iMac running Snow Leopard OSX Version 10.6.7
    ~ iPhone
    ~ iPad
    ~ Mini-PC / Home Theatre PC (Running Windows 7)
At first my iMac wouldn't connect to the WiFi, but after changing it to Channel 11. My iMac successfully joined the WiFi Network.
But the past week my iPhone & iPad whenever I browse the internet it would respond very quickly.
But my iMac and Windows PC, some websites they would respond quick and several other websites it would not respond at all and takes such a long time to bring up the website.
    I'm on a ADSL2 broadband connection.
    Mac OSX version 10.6.7...
I tried also updating the router firmware...
    My Current WiFi settings are:
    Channel: 11
    Mode: 11bgn (and I've also tried 11b, 11bg, and 11n only)
Bandwidth: 20Mhz (the other option is 40Mhz)
    Fragmentation Threshold: 2346
    RTS Threshold: 2347
    DTIM Interval: 1
    Beacon Interval: 100
    Transmit Power: 100%
    Wi-Fi Multimedia: Disabled
Any ideas would be greatly apprecatied...

If you have one computer running on G they will all run on G. All ROUTERS are backward compatible, in otherwords if you have a group of computers and all of them are N compatible and one or two are G They will all work but the N computers will run at N and those that are G will run at G speed not N.
It can get confusing but really it is simple. The newest is 802.11 AC and ic used with the newest Mac Computers made available in November 2013. So if you have the newest Airport Extreme that is 802.11ac and the newest computers that are AC compliant your speed will be 5 times faster than anything on the market right now.

  • T430s Wifi connection stability

I got a T430s from my university but I cannot stay connected to the wifi. When its connected I have 3-4 bars. It will drop and reconnect. At this point I can't go 5 minutes without the internet dropping. It has twice so far while I was writing this post. Any suggestions are appreciated. I already updated the driver and unchecked "turn this device off to save power".
    Thanks!

  • RV220W: Very slow wifi connection???!!!

I'm an IT professional with more than 10 years experience. I have spent last 5 days trying to figure out why the wifi connection to this router is so slow, but still no luck. I'm getting only 13Mbps even if my laptop is next to the router! (wired connection worked ok)
I have tried all sort of setting combinations, 2.4GHz/5GHz; N only/ G,N Mixed;  Auto/20MHz bandwidth; different channels; WPA2 encrypted vs open; disable firewall; wmm enabled/disabled; 1.0.0.26/1.0.1.0 firmware... no matter what I try, I always get only 10 - 15Mbps speed.
Once I replace this router with my old router, it worked perfectly --- getting 70 - 80Mbps with exactly the same testing environment and configuration.
I really expect this router to offer much faster wireless speed according to this review:

Could anyone help me out? This is driving me crazy!
    Much appreciated!

  • Updated to 10.9.5, now I'm losing my wifi connection.

My iMac(7,1) has been running 10.9.4 since early July with nary a problem. A few days ago I finally updated to 10.9.5 and since then I keep losing my wifi connection to my router. One of three things will happen:
    1. My wifi connection is intact, but I can't reach any network resource — not the internet, not my home server, not even the router itself. I have to turn off Airport, then turn it back on again. Once it's back on again *sometimes* it will automatically reconnect to the router, other times I have to manually reconnect it to the router.
    2. My wifi connection will simply drop. Where I would normally have full signal strength shown in the menu bar, I would suddenly show no signal at all — and not be connected to the router. I have to manually re-select my router to reestablish the connection and get online again.
    3. Same as #2, except that after manually re-selecting the router I'm dumped into #1 where I can't reach any network resource.
During any/all of this, none of my other network devices — printers, video game consoles, iOS devices, other computers — are having any problems.
I've tried repairing permissions, cleaning out caches, zapping PRAM, reinstalling the 10.9.5 combo update, repairing the keychain, removing my router password from the keychain, "forgetting" my router connection, resetting the Mac's network connections and re-adding them, switching from DHCP to static, and making a sacrifice to Cthulu. Nothing helps. I *have* noticed that when I boot my Mac from a 10.9.4 clone that I made about a week ago, I have NO wifi problems whatsoever. Whatever problem I'm having is a direct result of 10.9.5.
    Any ideas?

I had a lot of connection drops and hangs after 10.9.5. It seems there's some compatibilty problem with the Router / Airport / 10.9.5. Did everything, on my computer and airport with no luck, but what worked for me was to reset the router to factory settings and start from 0.
Some 3rd party routers have compatibity issuses with Mac, if the above doesn't work I will recommend to go back to 10.9.4 if you if a Time Machine, and wait a bit for Yosemite launch in a few days. Becasue I don't think there will be a new 10.9 update available soon.
