Yoga 13 - After 8.1 upgrade no response from hardware keyboard or trackpad

I upgraded my Yoga 13 last night and now the hardware keyboard and trackpad no longer respond. In fact, I don't even see a mouse cursor on the screen anywhere. I can still use the virtual keyboard. Does anyone have ideas on how to solve this one? Thanks.

No response from builtin keyboard/mouse on wake from sleep

When waking my powerbooks (both have tiger installed) there is no response from the built in devices (trackpad/keyboard) for roughly 20 seconds. An external mouse already connected works as usual.
This is a pain especially when you just want to check the dashboard or something quickly.
The second powerbook didn't have the problem on 10.3.9, but when I installed Tiger on it, the same problem happened straight away. There aren't any thrid-party extensions installed on the computer.
I haven't been able to find anyone else with the same problem, if anyone has any ideas, it would be much appreciated, thanks.

But today I was working in MS word (2001, no service pack added) while using a bluetooth mouse, and itunes. With a word document opened I took a break from writing and listened to music on iTunes for about 15 minutes (I think my computer went to sleep... at least the monitor did). when I was done and started using word again the vast majority of the keypad did not work. the F buttons did work, as did 4-delete, and u to \, but everything else on the keypad did not work at all. Restarting word did not fix it, restartign the computer did not fix it, but turning the computer off and then back on did fix it (which was good because the keypad did not even allow me to enter my password at startup).
This was a 12" 1.5gig powerbook using office X (no service pack) and the OS 10.4.6. Again, since then I downloaded the office service pack.

ATV3 after 5.1 upgrade keeps disconnecting from home sharing

I have had my setup now for about 6 months without any issues. I have an ATV3 connecting to iTunes home sharing on Win7 64bit. The Win7 is directly connected to my router via Gbit hardwired network. The ATV is connected over wireless 802.11n to the same router. The router is a D-link, DIR-655 I think. I upgraded to 5.1 on Fri, when the problems arose. When I start to watch a movie, it will disconnect after a period time (between secs and mins). I need to wait a few secs, then the computer will be listed again and I can select the movie and play. After a period of time, same thing. This keeps happening over and over again. I was running the latest 10.6.x iTunes on the Win7 box. I tried upgrading to 10.7, and same thing. I have rebooted everything multiple times (ATV3, router, Win7 box). Please help, getting really frustrated with it.

Hi Mark,
Should be quite staright forward. First download the ver 5.02 for the ATV. idownloadblog is a good place. Once done open iTunes and plug the ATV in to to your mac using a micro USB. Once connected plug in your power cable. If the ATV does not show up in your devices press Menu and Play together on the ATV remote. It should now be showing in devices. Hightlight the ATV in devices then hold down the ALT key and click on restore. You should now have an option box come up were you can select the file you downloaded. Choose file click ok and follow the on screen prompts. Once it says restore complete you should be ready to go. Good luck.

Poor Service Since Upgrade - Unacceptable Response From Verizon

Like many others on here, my Note 3 essentially has zero service from my home. Everything was fine until a few weeks ago when an OTA update came through. I rely on my phone as my sole source of communication from my house, office and on the go, and not being able to receive or send a phone call or text message is not only annoying, it's a safety concern for me and my family. There is obviously a pervasive issue that needs to be addressed ASAP, but instead the only responses I see from Verizon Customer Support is "have you turned your phone off?" or "what's your zip code?". Seriously? This is the first time in over ten years i'm VERY seriously considering switching carriers. I hear T-Mobile is paying Early Termination Fees.

After 10.4-10.5.3 today, MBPro keyboard and trackpad entirely unresponsive

Just today I upgraded to Leopard, and installed all the updates. After one reset, two windows popped up and attempted to search for a bluetooth keyboard and mouse. As I use neither, they kept searching. My trackpad and keyboard were unresponsive. For now, I can plug in an external usb mouse to navigate, but cannot type anything. Any new updates require a typed password.

I never had this problem.
For the purpose of typing a password, you could use the on-screen keyboard

I'm pretty sure you don't need to type a password to install it.

Slow response from idle keyboard?

This is a problem I have had right from the start and never been able to get to the root of it, and now that I have solved the problem of my fan maxing out all the time I want to try and tackle this now.
If I don't use the keyboard on my mac for a whie, I don't know maybe 5 minutes, 10 minutes, half an hour... it's hard to tell because I use an ext one mostly... the first few keys that I press don't register, and then I have to delete what I typed and re-type it, or I end up having to press the pause button on iTunes three times to pause a tune...
I heard it might be Coaco that is the problem here, but I have no idea what that is...
I've run a hardware test and checking my HDD for errors and everything is in order. I also did a PRAM and SMC reset yesterday.
Anyone got any ideas?
p.s. forgot to tick the box but now it's gone, I'm on OS 10.5.8, MacBook3,1

This has been a problem for me from day-one and clearly for others too if you read the older messagesn (in my case it's the first keystroke that is ignored)
occasionally you will hear of a supposed fix, but it's never been maintained.
The thing I did was to train myself to make the first movement (after returning to my Macbook) with my trackpad rather than the keyboard. This seems to 'wake' the system up and prepare it to accept the next input, which will be your keystroke.

The scenario is that Order Confirmation vednors sends contains delivery date or delivery qunatity variance within defined tolerances. In such cases it is acceptable to allow automatic PO change.
This is an EDI scenario. Idocs ORDRSP and ORDCHG in use.

The system logs all the relevant purchasing documents and can therefore determine all the documents affected by a change to a condition.
- This is only possible for purchasing documents for which follow-on documents (goods receipt, invoice receipt) do not exist.
- Before you run this report, you must have run report RMEBEIN4 (creation of worklist for automatic document adjustment).

No Response from Application Web Server - j2ee when running a long report

Using Oracle Application server, 10.1.2 and a j2ee application which uses Oracle Reports to create pdf report output.
When a report takes 5 mins or more to be produced, the following error message occurs, ending the session. The report request however does continue to run, and the pdf is eventually
produced on the server, but the user cannot retrieve it. So I know the report server is still going after getting this error:
No Response from Application Web Server
There was no response from the application web server for the page you requested.
Please notify the site's webmaster and try your request again later.
I'm assuming this is a timeout setting in a configuration file, but where?

Hi Tim,
Take Backup of httpd.conf from Oracle_home2(midtier)
Now Edit httpd.conf, set timeout 1200 ie 20 mins (this depends on you how much time u need to set Note: Values are in seconds)
Now restart entire Mid tier
Then run the report again.

Slow Response from the server

It seems that after 1 - 1:30 hrs after the server start the response from app server
(weblogic 5.1 here) is very very slow. This remains as it is until we stop and
restart the server..But again after the same period of time the problem continues
and the server tends to respond slowly.Where could be the problem? If you can
let us know the underlying problem, it would be great.

the heap usage reach 100% and the drop off suddenly. If this is the
case, consider increasing your heap, if that isnt an option.. Try
checking your code to make sure everything that is called is
destroyed.
That may help... If not it could be JDBC,other connectivity, or code.
But try that 1st and let me know.

Sorry for the double post but I originally put it in the wrong forum
I purchased my aluminum MacBook in February and from them I'VE been having issues with both my track pad and keyboard. Every once in a while I will get no response from my keyboard, for about a minute or two (no matter what key is pressed, nothing will show on the screen as being pressed). As well i will get no response from the track pad for a few minutes every now and then.
What should I do?

does this mean that the computer is not responsive for a few minutes? Will the character which you hit (at least the first) show up after a while? it could be two problems:
- faultive keyboard and TP,
- computer is busy with other stuff.
if you hit a key, and get a very late answer, then its the computer busy problem.
if you don't get any answer, but occasionally only a response for the simple fact you are hitting again and again some keys, then it might be the KB.
In the second case, you might need to get Apple to repair the KB and TP. In the first case, we should try to find out why your computer is busy.
Try to figure out which is the situation, and report back. Also, it might be VERY useful if you give more details about your computer (memory, processor etc) and the applications with which this happens.

My late 2008 MBP 5,1 is hanging up with no response to the keyboard/mouse/trackpad & hence no diagnostics that I know of. I did see my wife's userid running Safari have the screen go berserk with random moving black & white "snow" before the whole display became unreadable. Reboot & everything appears normal at this time but the hang-ups are constant. I am running OS X 10.10.
Any suggestions/help would be appreciated.

Microsoft Office 2013 gone after windows 10 upgrade (Yoga 13)

Hello, I received microsoft 13 with my yoga 13 computer. I upgraded to windows 10 yesterday and I no longer have office at all. I do not have the key on my personal microsoft account. what should i do?

First, make sure that you have the Toshiba Service Station application installed (see previous point by Peter)-I wasn't sure if I had it so I went ahead an installed it. The Micsoft tech went to Device Manager, then Network Adapters: Even though it appeared that my drivers were updated, the Microsoft tech went through them all and clicked update. During all of this, the Atheros AR9002WB-1ng wireless network adapter was downloaded. It didn't seem to appear to work at first, so then she went to the Atheros web site and downloaded an update. She spend at leat 45 minutes working on the problem (and several others which occured with the new windows 10 program) which I greatly appreciated especially since I now have the Wifi. I put in for a call back with Microsoft not really expecting one but 4 hours later did get the call and help. Feel like I won the technical support lottery. So would dheck to see if you have the Atheros wireless adapter under Network adapters which is also pointed out in Win's posting.

Can you take a screenshot of the pop-up notification?
To take a screenshot hold ⌘ Shift 4 to create a selection crosshair. Click and hold while you drag the crosshair over the area you wish to capture and then release the mouse button. You will hear a "camera shutter" sound. This will deposit a screenshot on your Desktop.
If you can't find it on your Desktop look in your Documents or Downloads folder.
If you want to attach a screenshot to a response here, click the "camera" icon above the text field:
This will display a dialog box which enables you to choose the screenshot file (remember it's on your Desktop) and click the Insert Image button.
⌘ Shift 4 and then pressing the space bar captures the window the cursor is on.
⌘ Shift 3 captures the entire screen.

External hd not recognized after 8.1 upgrade

my 3 tb seagate external is not being recognized after 8.1 upgrade. plugged in bothe sides of usb ports still no response. lights up when plugged but thats about it. Please help, thanks.

May I know when you upgrade OS to 8.1, this external HDD still attached?
So before your upgrade your OS, this external HDD working fine?
Did you try to attached your external HDD to another PC or laptop?
did you check inside device manager whether your external HDD detected?
may I know the details your external HDD spec and PC spec?
Please provide as much as information that related to this issue
