Yoga 13 bluetooth drops connection

I have a Yoga 13 (Windows 8) and a Lenovo Thinkpad Bluetooth keyboard.  The keyboard disconnects from the computer every few minutes.  Sometimes it reconnects on its own after 30 seconds or so.  Sometimes it needs to be restarted and sometimes it won't reconnect for several minutes despite numerous restarts.
I have replaced the keyboard.  The new keyboard behaves exactly the same way.
I have replaced the wireless card.  No improvement.
It is possible that the new wireless card is also defective.
I have tried to update drivers, although the drivers for the keyboard still seem to be dated June 2006, which seems an awfully long time ago.
Any ideas?  Lenovo seems stumped (or just does not want to help diagnose the problem).  I do have onsite service.

I haven't tried using a Bluetooth headset with Windows, but check:
1.  Right-click on the sound tray icon, select Playback devices.  Does it show a 2nd bluetooth headset device in addition to Speakers?  If so, left-click on it and try the "Set Default" dropown menu on the bottom to make it the Default device (or some other option that works better).

  • Ios 8.1.1 bluetooth drops connection with Honda Accord

My iPhone 6 with IOS 8.1.1, when paired with the audio system in my 2014 Honda Accord will drop the connection after 1 minute when using the AHA app. Also, when I use Bluetooth as the audio source in the car, it will recognize my iPhone, but ignores any request to select music from the phone. These functions worked earlier with my iPhone 4S and IOS7. Is there a temporary fix for these issues?

Similar to VroomVroom:  I have iphone 5s, was on iOS7, went to iOS 8.1.2, and I didn't notice that I had lost a specific bluetooth connection: Garmin Smartlink - Live Traffic App.  The Garmin Smartlink uses bluetooth to connect to the aftermarket Kenwood DNX891HD I have in my car, this comes with a Navigation GPS included.  The Garmin Smartlink app (Live Traffic) provides immediate traffic updates if your city is covered, and my city Cincinati OH is covered.  This was all working fine before I upgraded the iOS on the iphone 5S.  I read another article related to "carkit" connections between iphones and car stereos (for both NAV and also hands-free) - here is the key point and my theory: Only ONE bluetooth connection can be supported at a time.  In my case - the hands-free telephone (thru car microphone and car stereo speakers) works fine, and I believe this is also "shared" by Pandora App (from iphone to Kenwood).  So, my theory is the iphone will not connect to the Kenwood for the Nav, since it is already connected to the Kenwood for the audio (Pandora and hands-free, I think these two "share" the same bluetooth connection, and I think the Smartlink connection is separate).  I messed around this morning in the parking lot at work, and my attempts to "forget" and "pair" the iphone and Kenwood would continously start playing Pandora, but the Smartlink still will not connect (when it dis work, I would see a green circle with two cars on my Nav map screen, indicating the smartlink connection and also status of the traffic).  My next test this afternoon will be to delete Pandora app on the phone, try forget / pair again and see if I can get Smartlink to work.  If this works, I'll reinstall Pandora App and try to get it back as well.  My past 24 hours of skimming articles (don't ya love the internet !) seems to indicate that I am not the only person with bluetooth problems due to the iOS 8.1.2 update....hey Apple...where's 8.1.3 to fix this ?

  • Bluetooth drops connection with Magic Mouse

Quite often the connection between my Macbook Pro (15" retina) drops connection with my Magic Mouse. The drop varies from heavily lagging to full disconnect. Sometimes it works just reconnecting, but other times it won't connect at all.
Lately I've discovered that disabling WiFi makes the Magic Mouse connect immediately. Given that many people seem to have issues with WiFi when bluetooth is enabled, I suspects that there are some issues with to coherence of the two technologies. I know that both of the tech uses the same bandwith (2,4 GHz), just separated by what channel they use.
My issue started after installing Yosemite, first beta and now final release, so it looks to me as a software issue.
Anyone else with the same problem that might have more insight or maybe even a respons from Apple support?

    Make the device a favorite.

  • WRT110 Drops connection

    Good day to all!
My WRT110 drops connection from time to time, once or twice at random per evening + when one of my other PCs boot up.
I have a Synology DS209 NAS wired, a broadband internet connection (through a modem) and several PCs on wireless. In this situation the problem is reproducable: I have connection on PC 1, and when I boot any of the other PCs, the connection drops for 5 minutes (both internet and to my NAS) on all connected systems. After these 5 minutes, every system connects again. All systems have DHCP switched on, and all systems have different IPs just before this happens. I have done a "back to factory defaults" and power cycles, but the problem stays.
When I look with Vistumbler (or NetStumbler), I see drops from 90% signal to 0% once per -say- 5 minutes and irregular.
Do I have a defective router?
    Thanks for an answer....

Turn Off IPv6 Support in Vista
Go to Network Connections folder (click on Start button, then right click on Network, select Properties, then click on “Manager network connections” on Tasks pane).
You should see various LAN, wireless, Bluetooth, high speed Internet, and other network connections available on the Vista computer with the network adapter description. Right click on the network connection that you want to disable the IPv6 interface and select “Properties”.
Click “Continue” on User Access Control permission request prompt.
Clear the check box next to the Internet Protocol version 6 (TCP/IPv6) component in the list under “This connection uses the following items” box.
    Click OK when done.

  • Bluetooth keyboard connected to MacBook Pro but not typing

Just bought the new MacBook Pro and love it. I've got my bluetooth wireless trackpad connected and working fine.  Unfortunately, my bluetooth wireless keyboard is connecting, but not typing.  How can I troubleshoot this?

Okay, I've had the wireless keyboard disconnected from the old computer.  Now my current computer says the keyboard is 'connected' under the bluetooth drop down menu, however will not type and when I got into System Preferences>Keyboard and choose Set Up Bluetooth Keyboard it says No Keyboard Found, even though the little green light on the keyboard is flashing.  Any idea how to troubleshoot this and get the keyboard working?

  • Yoga 2 Bluetooth not stable with 7260 AC card

    Hi everyone,
I'm having a problem with my Microsoft Wireless Bluetooth 8000 presenter mouse staying connected via Bluetooth.  I have installed the latest Kona Wifi driver and the latest Bluetooth driver from the Lenovo site.  It's my opinion that these two drivers are not compatible.
The only way I have been able to keep both the wifi and the Bluetooth stable and not drop connections is to have the latest Kona driver for wifi and roll back the Bluetooth driver to the "generic Bluetooth driver" from 2006.  When I use the most recent Bluetooth driver it works initially but then it will be totally unresponsive after I sleep or restart the computer and I have to keep reinstalling the Bluetooth mouse to reconnect.  Crazy!
I have all the Bluetooth, USB and Wifi energy setting turned off so the computer cannot put any of them to sleep to save power.
On a side note, I also installed the Intel AC dual band version of the card.
I have noticed that I have lost my 5 Ghz wifi connection completely a couple of times in the last few days with both the Kona version of the wifi driver and with the driver direct from Intel's site.  Both appear to be the same driver.  The only way I am able to get my 5 Ghz back is to reboot the computer and bang - it's back.
The other interesting thing is I can have the laptop right next to my router and the it will go from 2 bars to 5 bars back and forth but when I monitor the connection with Inssider it does not show any signal drops or degradation of signal.  What the heck is going on with the windows wifi meter?
I don't blame these issues on Lenovo and I understand that I now have a non-stock wifi card installed so I'm on my own.  I think there is an issue Intel not getting these drivers right with the windows 8.1 update.  Intel needs to get their crap together with their 7260 series of wifi cards.  Anyone know what the new MacBook pros are using for AC wifi cards?
BTW - turning of Bluetooth is not a reasonable solution to fixing my problems.  Both should just work.  I'm curious if anyone else has found a good combination of Bluetooth  and wifi drivers who may also have installed the AC dual band version of the card.  I'm about 90 percent stable at this point but I just can't stand the idea of using a Bluetooth driver from 2006.
Overall, the laptop is good.  The greasy looking track pad looks like hell already and the light bleed from the bottom of the screen is annoying.  High res is awesome for most things but almost un-useable for other older programs that won't scale right.  My wife is getting huge headaches trying to use a work program with miniature font.  When I remote desktop into my home server it is terribly small....break out the magnifying glass!
Looking forward to the yellow update and hopefully some wifi/Bluetooth stability in the near future - I'm talking to you Intel.  Peace!

I'm using a Logitec Bluetooth mouse and have problems.  I installed the Bluetooth drivers from the Lenovo web site.  When I click to open a window, the Bluetooth mouse becomes inoperable.  I can use the touch screen or the pad to move the cursor or windows.  The mouse will "go to sleep" and then re-activate after perhaps 20 seconds or so.
No time to troubleshoot it right now, but has anyone tried new drivers from Intel for the wifi card or from Microsoft for Bluetooth?  All Lenovo drivers are dated October 16 I think.  The fact that it happens with a Logitec mouse susggests driver problems.
    Love the laptop, however !!

  • TS3406 bluetooth drops unexpectantly

Bluetooth drops with 5S ios 7.04/  iphone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S4 have no problems.

Thats the offline mode option, I assume..
that isn't the one I meant. if you open the desktop menu (by pressing the top of the screen when the desktop is visible, there should be a button labeled "Internet connection".. if you click that, you should see an option "Disconnect blah" where blah is the wireless network you're connected to..
select that to disconnect from the wireless network.. OR select the 3G connection (which has a round icon with two arrows in it)
that will switch over to 3G..
That's all I did to get my bluetooth working.. it isn't a permanent fix, but it does demonstrate the problem..

  • Bluetooth lost connection

My apple mouse and Macally keyboard drop connection via bluetooth while being used.  KB is difficult to connect.  Clicking "connect" (Sys Pref/BT/Macally).  Is there a problem with Imac and bluetooth?

I am running into the same issue.  Ever since I updated my OS to Lion (now on 10.7.4), my iMac will periodically lose connection to all my Bl;ueTooth devices - Apple Wireless Mouse (Magic Mouse), Apple Wireless Keyboard, and Apple Wireless Trackpad.
Often happens after I don't use the Mac for a while and then I am trying to wake it up.  (I can plug a Logitech Wireless mouse/keyboard into the USB port and I can use those, but I can not re-establish connection to the Apple wireless Keyboard, mouse, trackpad)
I have been able to re-establish connection after I reboot, however I never had this issue when I was on the pervious version of the OS.
    I have a 24-inch iMac from 2008, 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB RAM.
    Any ideas?

  • Magic Mouse drops connection with two blinks; unable to reconnect

My magic mouse drops connection frequently. It may drop connection at any time with no reason and goes off into two blinks. Then it's unable to be reconnected. I've tried many things, including turning the mouse off and on, turning Bluetooth off and on, unpairing the mouse and try to repair (unable to discover at this moment), but nothing works. After waiting for a long time it may get connected suddenly.
I believe it is the computer's issue rather than the mouse. I have two Macs (MacBook Pro and iMac) and two Magic Mice, but the issue only happen to my MacBook Pro with either of the two mice.
Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thank you!

I really cannot see why those problems relate to only one of your machines though you don't say if you have reset the SMC on the MacBook Pro.  See ...
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295
Nor do you say if you have given the batteries a thorough check.  While this should not affect only one machine, Try removing them, clean the inside of the compartment and the battery terminals themselves.  If it is reasonably possible, replace the old batteries with new ones.

  • New iMac wireless keyboard and magic mouse dropping connections

Hi looks like I am just another one who's got problems with Apple's wireless keyboard (KB) and magic mouse (MM).
I bought my iMac 21.5 at the beginning of last Dec. For the first few days, I noticed that the connection between MM and iMac dropped perhaps once a day when I was editing some HD footage in iMove 09. I am rather new to Mac so initially I thought iMove was dominating CPU power hence the temporary drop.
But in the next few days, I found my MM dropped connection a bit more frequently like 3-4 times a day, during word processing, browsing in Safari or even when I am doing nothing. Plus I also noticed that the KB began to have the same problem as well. Well, in all cases the communications resumed almost instantly or shortly after I clicked MM or a button on the KB. It's only the on-screen notices are very annoying....
The situation got worse in the final week of 2010, the connection (both MM and KB) dropped more frequently and sometimes communication didn't resume instantly, instead the Bluetooth Setup Assistant pops up searching for available devices....and then finally connected. Annoyed by this I took the MM to the retailer and swapped for a brand new one (from a boxed iMac), came home and hey! problem solved! but just for a MERE few hours.
On the last day of 2010, after a couple "rounds" of drop-and-reconnect I was hit by the "Bluetooth Not Available" problem after a connection failure. Left it for some moments and no sign of recovery at all! Luckily and ironically I plug in my wired USB Microsoft mouse so that I can still navigate, went to System Preference and found the Bluetooth icon disappeared as if no Bluetooth hardware was ever installed at all! OK, turned off the iMac from the menu, waited and restarted. No joy and scary enough, I can't even get into the system coz I got log-in enabled but without a working KB to enter my password. Without a choice I dug out my netbook PC, arrived in this forum and found I wasn't the only one. Followed instructions here, did a SMC reset, PRAM reset, etc then magically everything is back! Once back in, I deleted the plist, deleted devices, restarted, re-favourite MM and KB, etc. The next day, I use the installation disc to perform a hardware check, but no problem found!
But always a but, the problem still persists, so a call to Apple technical support who suggested literally the same thing I've done above and asked me to monitor the problem in case it needs repair. Honestly, I am not keen to do that as the nearest Apple centre is far from me and always busy. Not sure if anyone here can shed some lights on my problem. I needa ensure all channels are exhausted before I bring the thing back to Apple for an inspection as a last resort...
    Many thanks guys

Hi, I post this because this is very similar to what is happening with my new 27in Imac.
Townsville March 05 2011 bought all singing and all dancing 27inch IMac with wireless KB and MM at new reseller grand opening. Straight forward out of the box. First night a kernal panic message and screen shut down and unable to start. Phonecall to apple care got it restarted with the apleoption+pr keys. Fine for a while, then repeated screen freezes watching eye TV.
Persevered, with similar repeated screen freezes. Reset memory for eye TV. Seemed to fix that problem, but during this time also noticed MM and KB were disappearing and not responding, only to come back by frustratingly turning them on and off, waving them near the imac and even turning the imac off and on manually, to have them come back for a while and even dragging out a cable mouse to navigate. Cut a long story short, I hoped it would sort itself. 20 days later while watching eye tv I noticed the mm and kb drop off. Cable mouse found the BT issue you guys have discussed. System Preferences showed no BT at all. Rang apple care. Went through the same drill and identified a hardware problem with BT which should be replaced, and after discussion about the other issues, suggested a replacement would be within range but to talk to the store, cause it was so new, took it back to store where my story was confirmed in a confirmation of the customers story check.....for a while.....
then all reappeared as if nothing was wrong, fortunately it was witnessed by the store, so off it went to Brisbane for the 4 day turnaround. Wednesday the tech rang BT MM and KB all working fine. Further explained all the above, so he has stress tested it and I am informed it is has displayed none of the bad behaviour and is working well and on its way home, hopefully by monday. So will keep you posted. No new mac offered, no replacement BT module offered.
PS I have only ever owned macs, still love them, and scripting this on my mac book, which incidentally, has never missed a beat.

  • New time capsule+new airport express=daily dropped connections

I have a new 2 TB Time Capsule and a new Airport Express that I puchased to update my old set-up of an Airport Express and Airport Extreme.
I have the TC set-up as the primary base station in the back of the house and the airport express set-up to extend the network in the front of the house. I was getting constant disconnects up front for the first several days so I finally exchanged the new AX for another one thinking maybe the first one was faulty. I reset the TC back to factory defaults for good measure and re-set up my network the same way with the new AX.
Two days with no disconnects, thought it was fixed, and then it started again...no joy. Not as often as with the first AX, but still it happens 2-3 times a day and always up in the front of the house while we're on our MacBook Pro or MacBook Air. When this happens both the AX and the TC have green lights and full bars of connectivity show in the menu bar, but yet no internet access. The only way to reconnect is to restart the AX. I have noticed too, that when this happens, the Airport Utility does not show the TC at all...even though it's light is fully green and it should be there, it just shows the AX until I restart and then both show up again.
I've tried changing the channel from automatic to a specific channel but this really doesn't change things much. Now I'm starting to wonder if something is awry with the TC. I've also noticed that it sometimes fails to back up because it can't find a connection to my iMac which is right next to it in the back of the house.
So far this upgrade has been more of a downgrade. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Just an update and still seeking some advice for this situation...anybody?
I tried re-setting both TC and AX to factory settings and re-configuring. Still get at least 3-4 dropped connections up front on a daily basis; however, TC has been connecting successfully and backing up my iMac, so at least that seems to be ok.
Still the same situation with the TC not showing up in Airport Utility every time the network connection drops happen...just the AX is seen until I finally have to restart the AX and then both can be viewed in Airport Utility and the internet connection is restored. Sometimes I can restore connection by simply toggling my airport access on and off in the menu bar of my MacBook Pro, but more often then not, I have to restart the AX itself to get back online.
Is it possible that this could be an issue with the TC? Somehow it might be dropping the connection to the AX? I can still exchange it for another if this may be the case. I'm already on my second AX thinking that the Express was the problem initially.
So far, nothing seems to help the situation. About the only thing that I haven't done is configure the AX to just join the network rather than extend it...but that would be defeating the purpose of why I bought it in the first place (to stream iTunes and extend network).
I never had issues with my old set-up, but then I had it configured as a WDS because I didn't have the option to "extend" the network as it was an older AX and Airport Express.

  • 10.7.3 MBP Wifi Problem - Endless Timeouts & Dropped connections

I've been reading around here a bit already and so I know many other people are having Wifi issues with Lion, but given that there are so many discussions and so many pages of talk, it's hard to go through it all, and using the search I haven't found anything that's quite similar to what I'm experiencing, so I'm starting a new topic...
Basically, I've got a late 2006 MacBook Pro, installed 10.7.1 (form 10.6.8) on in back in Aug 2011 and everything seemed to be fine. I updated to 10.7.2 sometime in Jan and still didn't notice any issues, but wasn't using Wifi at all at the time.
Then in Feb I moved and started using wifi (with a Cisco N router), and noticed that often, the system would not automatically reconnect to the network after waking up from sleep. Just selecting the network manually worked on the first try every time though, so it wasn't so bad.
At the end of April, I finally got around to installing the 10.7.3 update. I read it was supposed to fix wifi issues and so was looking forward to it. It installed fine and didn't seem to cause any problems...
2 days later I moved again (to India), and all **** broke loose... Now, I can rarely connect to wifi (a Beetel G router, configed with WPA). Around 25% of the time, the network won't show up in the list (despite being a clear 5ft from the base station), and when it does show up, 95% of the time I get a "connection timeout" error - often immeadiately, but sometimes it takes about 10sec to respond. On the same network, 2 Win 7 Dells and an iPad 1 all work flawlessly - it's not the router...
One the occasions that I am able to connect, it usually works fine, but if I put the computer to sleep and wake up again, there's no guarentee that the connection will work again - it's back to the lottery. And sometimes even when it's connected, the wifi stays (according to the menu indicator) but the internet connection disappears (to the point I can't even ping the router - 100% packet loss, let alone any internet server)
I've tried zapping everything I can think of (PRAM, SMC), repairing permissions, clearing the remembered networks from the System Prefs, deleting old Locations and creating new ones etc. I have a clean install of 10.7.1 that I booted off of, but it still had the same issues!

I'm pretty savy with computers and have dealt with all kinds of stuff before, but this one is beyond me, and is really annoying! I konw my machine is old, but it was totally useable up until these Wifi issues, and now wifi is basically useless.
From what I've read, it seems like its a driver issue with the Atheros card in my machine, but most people seem to be complaining about dropped connections (mine rarely drops) rather than timeout connection issues. I've also never had the "hardware not found" issue that many people have, so I think this is something different.
Anyone out there have any advice? I'm getting close to losing it with wifi since the update!

    Sorry - to add:
I don't think it's a question of WPA vs. WPA2, or even channel number - I have 2 identical routers here and neither work (both default to WPA Ch 11) but I changed one to WPA2, new SSID, various channels and still had the same problems.
Another thing to note that should be irrelevant, but who knows: the Firewire controller on my machine died back in Fall 2010 - to the point where the system won't start-up unless I remove the IOFirewire***.kext from /System/Library/Extensions , and as soon as I do that, it works flawlessly (minus Firewire). It meant I had a **** of a time installing Lion becuase I can't boot off the Recovery Partition (which has the drivers baked into it), but by cloneing my HD, installing Lion onto the clone via a borrowed machine, removing the .kext's and cloning back, I got it on and everything seems to be fine otherwise... I posted about that problem before, but never got any answers. And it wasn't just me, my father has a late 2007 MBP and the same firewire issue happened to his within 5 days of mine (not a power spike - I think it was shortly after some system update if I remember correctly).

  • Poor performance and now dropping connection

I am very underwhelmed by performance since switching to infinity FTTC last year. Download speed is very variable and I just cannot get an upload speed much better than 1.1 Mb/s.
Now we have a regularly dropping connection. Last Saturday morning we had a thunderstorn with heavy downpour and phone line dropped completely - no dialtone and unsurprisingly no broadband. Did a line check from my mobile - all fine and no reported problems in the area. I phoned BT and got an Indian who just repeated what the website told me and said couldn't get an engineer for 4 days! Phone came back late the same afternoon and a little while later broadband came up but connection was up and down like a yo-yo. After 4 days of sunshine when the engineer turned up broadband had been up solid from 3 am and phone was fine. Engineer did more detailed tests which showed no problem and reckoned our problem must have been fixed, and that reason broadband had been dropping was because of computerised checks due to reported fault which would cause line to drop.
For a few days all was fine, although performance still underwheliming, until we had another downpour yesterday morning. Phone line stayed up, although a little crackly, but once again broadband started dropping regularly. Since then it has gradually improved (no more rain).
My suspicion is (and always has been) that with the heavy rain water is getting into a connection somewhere. How do I go about communicating it to BT support (I can't even find a web page or number for reporting broadband problems) this fact and actually getting someone to look into it properly? I rejected the "fault reported fixed" on the tracking your fault web page but so far nothing.
I am distinctly unimpressed with BT support and unless this gets fixed soon I am seriously thinking of switching to fibre to the home with Virgin (despite hating Branson) especially as the move from Yahoo mail to BT mail has not been smooth and the BT webmail is full of bugs (which again I cannot find any way of reporting).

Thanks. I tried that. Broadband up and down regularly until the day the engineer came. Day before had intermittent heavy crackling on the line and calls dropping. Day he came all is fine and of course his diagnostics checks come back all clear. Apparently, or so he told me, they are not allowed to work on our line unless the checks show a fault...which they didn't.
I've just had 24 hours of our broadband working but just now it's started dropping regularly again.
I am getting very frustrated/annoyed. What do I do now? How do they expect to solve the problem if it isn't constant and they can't get an engineer to look at it within 3 or 4 days? Do I just keep on calling our an engineer until by chance it happens to hit a problem while they're on site? Not good for customer satisfaction and surely it must cost them to keep sending out an engineer!

  • AT&T U-verse dropping connections suddenly

    Hi all.
Since upgrading to Yosemite, there has been a degrading of my internet reliability with AT&T U-verse, and its been getting worse and worse.  I now drop connections every HOUR.  Speed and WiFi strength are great when its working, but it will spontaneously stop working, and if i do a series of diagnostics, quitting safari, turning wifi off and on, etc., I can get back online after a few minutes.  BUT WHAT THE HECK IS HAPPENING?  At this point I've mucked around with just about every network setting so I no longer even know what they should be.  AT&T is fairly useless regarding tech support for Macs, so hopefully someone here knows the current UVerse setup and can give me some advice.  Here's where I stand:
    - I have a 2009 Mac Pro, running latest Yosemite.
    - Router is AT&T Motorola NVG589, connecting to U-verse service (not gigabit, just regular)
    - When internet service drops, it appears that the WiFi continues to be connected well, at least for a while.  The NVG589 status page still shows my machine connected, and the WiFi signal strength in the menu bar remains full strength, but Diagnostics show failure to connect to ISP and internet.  Other Devices, like my phone or other laptops, continue to connect fine, so the broadband is fine, so maybe the WiFi is only appearing to work or something else is going on.  At some point, the WiFi also stops responding until I do a bunch of restarting stuff.
    - I have already trashed the various preference files and created fresh new locations, but to no avail.  It all works fine for a while then goes spotty again.
    - I have my network prefs set to "Link-local only" which had worked fine before.
    - I set the DNS servers to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
I don't really know much about the various pros and cons of different settings, but apparently you can get the NVG589 to assign a static IP address (or semi-static or something like that) but is that BETTER?   would that end the dropouts?
    Any other ideas?

    Hello Javier Bonafont,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that it can be very frustrating when you are having multiple Wi-Fi drops in signal at home. There are a couple of different troubleshooting steps that I would recommend in this situation. Please refer to the attached article for information and steps to help you troubleshoot this situation.
Wi-Fi: How to troubleshoot Wi-Fi connectivity - Apple Support
Symptom: The network connection drops unexpectedly
Your Mac may not not stay connected to your Wi-Fi network reliably.
Your Mac may stop accessing the Internet during use.
    Solution
Use these steps if your computer disconnects from its Wi-Fi network unexpectedly.
Check your range to the Wi-Fi router and reduce the effect of interference. If your computer is too far from your Wi-Fi router or your environment has too much Wi-Fi interference, then your computer may not detect the Wi-Fi network properly. The easiest way to check for range limits with your Wi-Fi network is to move your computer or your Wi-Fi router closer together and make sure that there are no obstructions (such as walls, cabinets, and so forth) between the router and your computer.See Potential sources of wireless interference for more information about interference and solutions.
Try connecting to a different Wi-Fi network. If your computer works fine when connected to a different Wi-Fi network, then the issue may be related to your network router or ISP. In that case, contact the manufacturer of your router or your ISP.
    Best regards,
    Joe
