Yoga 13 Bluetooth Issues (Headphone Connection)

Hi.
I've been lurking for a bit and have had most of my questions answered and issues solved by
this fine community. Thank you!
My problem is that I can add my bt headphones (I've tried two different sets) in the "add device"
option, but once I shut the bt device (headphones in my case) off and then turn them back on
again the sound continues to come from the tablet or stereo speakers (which ever I'm using at
the time) and the sound won't switch to the bt headphones automatically. I must manually go the
Sound settings in Control Panel options and select the bt headphone to use them again. As of
right now I've got a shortcut to the Sound options on my desktop. Now this isn't a deal breaker for
me, but there's got to be an easier way! LOLS!
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
And for the record I have no wifi issues and I've upgraded to 8 gigs of ram so I'm keeping this!!!

I haven't tried using a Bluetooth headset with Windows, but check:
1.  Right-click on the sound tray icon, select Playback devices.  Does it show a 2nd bluetooth headset device in addition to Speakers?  If so, left-click on it and try the "Set Default" dropown menu on the bottom to make it the Default device (or some other option that works better).

  • Yoga 13 - Bluetooth issue

Just wondering if anyone has encountered this problem:
Occationally when waking the unit from sleep the Bluetooth device stops working. It appears in the Device manager with an "!" on it, but when I disable and re-enable it it works again for a day or two before it happens again.
It's not an end of the world sort of problem, but it's kind of annoying. I want to know if I'm the only one, or if it might be a driver issue that needs to be addressed?
    Solved!

    hi dumiller,
thanks for posting. I was just wondering how long do leave your machine to sleep before waking it up? I too have a yoga but I must admit that I've not used the BT. But however I did face some similar with the wireless. After waking from sleep it has trouble connecting to the wireless. But it turn out that I just needed to be a little patient with the machine as it had to re-establish the wireless connection. It may be the same with the bluetooth.
However, you may also want to consider checking you bluetooth propeties by unchecking specific power saving propeties. This can be done by following the guide bellow.
Go to you bluetooth properties and click on the Bluetooth Tab.
Once there Click on BlueTooth Settings. (See illustrations below)
A new window should have appeared.
    Click on the "Hardware" tab.
In the hardware tab select "RTL8723A 4.0+High Speed Chip"
Click on the "Properties Button" Below. (See Illustration below)
On you've clicked on the "Properties" button another window should appear.
Click on the "Power Management" Tab
Ensure to uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" and "Allow this device to wake the computer." (See illustration below)
hope this helps and do let me on how it goes.
    Regards

  • IPhone 4: Since iOS5 Bluetooth issues when connected to car hands free and audio system

    Hi @ all,
this discussion is either a kind of "warning" for those who hadn't yet updated to iOS 5 and a beg to Apple for fixing the issue:
Obviously the iOS 5 does have some problems with VW and Ford (germany) modells equipped with handsfree and audio systems (googling a little bit resulted in many, many complaints in german discussion forums about it). Unfortunatelly I'm facing these problems now too:
    Issue 1:
When the iPhone is connected to the audio-system of the car via Bluetooth, the Audio Slider on the iPhone doesn't work any longer. The only thing that it is capable to do is, if you slide it completely to the left, which results in switching the audio completely off.
    Issues 2 (much more annoying):
When the iPhone is connected to the handsfree system of the car, the ringtone volume is obviously set to "off" or at least "extreme low". This doesn't harm when using the phone with the handsfree since the ringtone still is coming from the cars loudspeakers. But as soon as you leave the car and the bluetooth connection is disconnected, the ringtone audio on the iPhone is STILL set to "off". Means: Each time, when you leave your car, you have to increase the ringtone volume manually.
Issue 1 is more a "not nice" or a "OK, it's first release" bug. But issue 2 would have been a reason for me to wait for upgrading to iOS 5, since I'm using my iPhone as a business tool and am quite frequent on travel.
To verify that I hadn't had a bug when upgrading for the first time my iPhone, I completely set my phone back to factory default, put it in maintenance mode and re-flashed it completely anew using iTunes. I only performed minimal setup to make sure, nothing else could cause this. The issue still remained, therefore it was clear to me, it is iOS 5. I never had any of these issues with iOS 3 und 4. A probable "workaround" would be a downgrade, but this doesn't work, as known, either.
@ Apple Engineering: Please fix this as soon as possible!
    Cheers,
    Frank

Good question... I haven't found a "reliable" way of sending constructive(!) Feedback to those at Apple who really care. I remember the beginning days of Mac OS X, when the reply-link was even on top of the dock.
Maybe I'm just not aware of working feedback channels, I only can hope that some of Apple's people with "influence" read statements like this...
    Cheers,
    Frank

  • Bluetooth Issues while connected to WIFI

Is anyone else having issues with the clarity of phone calls when on a bluetooth headset, while being connected to WIFI? I have switched my new Note 4 out at verizon. I have switched bluetooth headsets. It only happens when at work and at home. Im always connected to WIFI in those two places. When I turn off my WIFI, i have no issues

It happens on any WIFI when I'm using my bluetooth. I thought maybe I got a bad phone but after swtiching it out at the Store and trying multiple ears (different brands as well). I'm convinced this is the problem. I never had an issue with my Note 3 and I've had the same bluetooth headsets. In the past, I always kept my WIFI on so it connects to trusted networks automatically. I believe it's a Verizon issue because the Samsung Reps at BestBuy inform me of some other issues but not that one. It seems that different carries are having different issues. Can you please make whom ever aware so they look into this issue.

  • Yoga 13 Bluetooth (and Wi-Fi) serious issues

Yoga 13 Bad Wi-Fi and Bluetooth – almost giving up (and giving back)
I have purchased the Yoga 13 a week ago, and everything was fine. EXCEPT, I experienced problems to connect to the public Wi-Fi. I get  5 seconds of Wi-Fi connected, and then 5 seconds of "limited connection", and again "connected" for 5 sec., "limited" for 5 sec., and so on. I convinced myself it was because of the large number of people connected at the place I have been at. But now I am sitting here, with just a few people, and it seems they are all connected well, and only I get the 5 seconds cycle.
But it wasn't for this issue that I started to feel frustrated with my 1 week old Lenovo Yoga. It's the Bluetooth issue that really bothers me. I am trying to use Microsoft Notebook Bluetooth 5000 mouse. I have to use it, since I have to use both USBs for other devices. At first it worked fine. Just the random disconnections everyone on the net are talking about. I tried everything: I set the power management of the realtek  rtl8723A chip so it won't be able to turn off the BT. I also set the BT to automatically search for devices under services.msc management, which supposed to help reconnection after sleep. Each time it seemed like the problem was solved, until the next time it randomly disconnected.
So I have updated my machine. First, I've updated the BIOS from CN52 to CN55. I don't know if it's relevant, but I mention it anyway. Them I've updated the realtek drivers, according to the recommendations I found in Lenovo support forums. Things only got worse.
Now the PC either (1) can't recognize the mouse at all, although it recognizes my cell phone, and my cell phone recognizes the mouse; (2) or it recognizes the mouse, and then asks me to pair with the mouse using a code (!!) as if the mouse is some kind of a laptop. Even then, if I press Next (using 0000 or 1234 as a code results with nothing), the PC starts some driver installation, calling the mouse HID compliant, and usually the process terminates itself before it finished. Only once for a dozens of attempts, does the PC recognize the mouse properly, installs it and the mouse works – only it became incredibly laggy, barely usable. It is hard to believe it worked fine from the beginning, and any update just made it less usable.
Now, trying to downgrade the Realtek driver results with the same problems. I tried various versions of this driver – no success. I also made a system restore once, to get back to the point before updates, but the same result: no mouse recognition / all sorts of problems I mentioned above.
I am frustrated. I bought this computer for an urgent work, and already spent 5 or 6 hours just to make it work, and still no success. I am just a moment from giving up. Any ideas?
    [*pardon my English]

I forgot to mention I used a fresh pair of batteries for the mouse (rules out simple solutions).

  • My bluetooth has discovered my speakers but cannot connect till I take the headphones out, but there are no headphones connected what can i do

My Imac has discovered my wireless speakers but cannot connect because it ask me to remove my headphones which are not connected, can any one help?

Will you're iMac play music through the internal speakers or does it give you the same error?
I ask because most (all?) Macs these days use a combo optical analog jack for headphones which means that there's a tiny switch inside that can get stuck. I've never heard of a problem just like yours (which could be a bluetooth issue) but I have had similar issues on my wife's Macbook.
If you get the same error, or can't play music out of the internal speakers then try inserting re-inserting a headphone plug a few times. If you do a few Google searches you can find additional info.

  • Bluetooth wont keep connection to headphones!

anyone else having this issue?  bluetooth wont keep connection to headphones!  It works great for anywhere from 20 minutes to 3 hours at a time, then it loses connection, but shows it as being connected on the phone. I have to reboot bluetooth and my headphones and restart any one of the 6 different music players i use.

You can't buy the part from Creative as a spare.
I'm not sure how compatible other parts might be, but that would be a question for someone who really knows a lot about this area of electronics.
The Creative repair for this is likely to be expensi've, but the problem is most likely a broken solder connection than an actual new headphone socket. So if you know someone experienced in surface mount soldering you could probably get it repaired just with this.

  • Connect Bluetooth as Headphones instead of Headset by Default?

Does anyone know of a way to force Leopard to connect my bluetooth headphones as headphones instead of a headset by default? I have a pair of Sony DR-BT22 bluetooth headphones and Leopard picks up headphones and headset services from them. When I turn them on, Leopard asks if I want to use them, but it defaults to using them as a headset which doesn't support stereo sound. Is there a way to force it to use them as headphones by default? Now i have to disconnect from them an reconnect via the bluetooth menu.

I'm experiencing the same problem with my jbl bluetooth stereo headphones since upgrading to snow leopard or should i say DOWNGRADING. They worked just fine prior to the download. There is obviously a problem with bluetooth in snow leopard and i wonder how apple could have let this error slip through. Does anyone know if they will fix this or are we left with crappy mono sound and a pair of useless headphones. Personally I'm astounded that a company that prides itself on attention to detail and reliability missed this.

Because Microsoft Mobile Community is rather high volume in threads, I recommend to create one thread for each topic. Especially in this case, because MixRadio has its own section. Are you able to log-into MixRadio with your Nokia Account? Are you about:
    A) individual songs (or complete album; purchase),
    B) offline mixes of MixRadio+, or
    C) MixRadio Unlimited download subscribtion.

  • Is there any way to keep the music playing through the headphones connected through the headphone jack, while also playing the music through a bluetooth device, such as speakers - so the audio is coming out of both devices simultaneously?

When I connect my bluetooth speakers, the sound stops coming out of the headphones (connected via the hardwire jack), and then comes back when I turn off the bluetooth speakers. I would like to have audio coming out of both...
    Anyone?

Thanks Kiwi. It doesn't make sense to me though, as that would seem to be only a simple change in the operating system, not a hardware 'necessity'.

  • How can i fix my wifi and bluetooth issues in yosemite?

Hi, after upgrading to Yosemite I've noticed that my bluetooth trackpad (Logitech t651) and wifi connection are having serious conflicts which result in sluggish trackpad response or occasional wifi connection drops.
I would have some occasional sluggishness with my trackpad in Mavericks but it would never lead to dropping of my wifi connection. Here is a little more about my configuration, my wifi connection is 2.4ghz, I have read that upgrading to 5GHZ would solve this problem but this would of course require me to purchase a new router which I would like to avoid. I have noticed that if i turn off my wifi, my trackpad is 100% smooth and responsive so the two issues are definitely connected. Does anyone have solution to fix this problem that doesn't include changing the wifi broadcast channel (which I've already tried), switching to 5GHZ, or utilizing an ethernet connection? Thanks

I think I'm having a similar problem, my wifi disconnects when a bluetooth device is connected to the MBA.
I have a MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2012) with WiFi and Apple Trackpad.  I'm unable to use the trackpad(bluetooth) and wifi at the same time.  If I turn off the trackpad then the wifi works fine and if I shutoff the wifi then the trackpad works fine.  This configuration was working fine prior to upgrading to Yosemite.
I experienced the same problem at home and at the office.
    Additional test:
I turned off the bluetooth trackpad and connected my bluetooth headphones to the MBA.  The wifi disconnected as soon as I paired the headphones with the MBA.
I have had no problems with the MBA's keyboard or integrated trackpad.

  • Bluetooth Issue ENVY dv7 C2Y65AV After Win 8.1 to Win 7 Downgrade

My laptop is an ENVYdv7 C2Y65AV
It originally came with Windows 8.0, and I upgraded later to 8.1.
I never liked 8.0 or 8.1 so I “downgraded” to Windows 7 Professional. I did my research, realizing there may be issues. I downloaded drivers, bought a new hard drive, etc.
All went better than expected and I am happy with the “downgrade”, save for 1 issue.
1- I am having difficulty getting my Bluetooth to connect completely to any of my devices (headphones or headset).
My WiFi works well, I believe the Bluetooth 4.0 is part of the Intel Centrino WiFi card . When connecting any Bluetooth device, it does show in the Bluetooth devices screen. It will discover it and “connect” to it, but nothing happens when I try to use them. The sound still comes from the laptop speakers.
I have the Intel Centrino Wireless N 2230 BNHMW that came with the laptop. It worked well with Windows 8.1. All my Bluetooth devices paired easily with the laptop when Windows 8.1 is running.
I have been to Intel's website, made sure my driver for the wireless card for Windows 7 is the correct and latest version. They have a software utility that installs on your laptop, then searches and downloads the correct, latest version.
I downloaded all the drivers for this downgrade from HP's (this) website's software and driver support section. What a great resource this site is!
    Suggestions? Advice?
    I appreciate any help!
    Thank you,
    James
    P.S.
An interesting thing about Windows 8.1.
When I installed Windows 7 Professional, I bought a new SSD hard drive just for this purpose. I had saved my pulled hard drive with Windows 8.1 on it just in case this downgrade didn't fare well.
Just for grins, I added it as a second hard drive (later) in case I needed to get missed files.
When I rebooted my laptop, I went into the boot manager, and selected my primary drive with Windows 7. It booted up normally.
Then seconds after booting, a message popped up saying I needed to reboot for the changes to take effect. I didn't recall making any, but figured something had updated?
So I did. I rebooted and Windows 8.1 took over, and changed files on my SSD hard drive (win 7 drive) that ultimately disabled that drive from booting Windows 7.
Trying to boot into the Windows 7 hard drive froze right after the Windows 7 splash screen.
I pulled the plug on the Windows 8.1 hard drive, rebooted to Windows 7. Before I could though, it had to scan the hard drive for changes, and correct them. Then Windows 7 booted up normally.
This Windows 8.1 sure is controlling. Can you say “Hal” from the movie “2001 A Space Odessay”
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Thank You Pepe999,
This Bluetooth issue has been resolved by following your suggestion and replacing my WiFi/ Bth card with a new Intel AC 7260.
    Worked like a charm...Thank you!
Now my Windows 7 "downgrade" is complete. ALL is working, and working better for me than the windows 8.0 an later 8.1 it had.

  • Bluetooth Issues after Yosemite upgrade.

My Magic Trackpad's newest magic trick is to disappear after a few minutes of non-use.  I was quickly able to discern that it was disconnected.  Reconnected... few minutes later disappeared again.  Battery level is 92%.  Checked my Bluetooth options to allow Bluetooth devices to allow Bluetooth devices to wake the computer is checked.
Anyone else having any similar issues or am I special?

I've had a series of issues since upgrading, I believe it is BT related:
If I do NOT try to use my previously functioning BT headphones I get:
    no stalls/stops playing video files
no sound issues (no connect to headphones, stuttering audio)
    no endlessly spinning beachball
no "System Prefs Not Responding" message
If I try to connect to the headphones I have issues with all of the above bullets. Trackpad and keyboard continue to work after the above problems manifest themselves.
This bug is repeatable - don't connect to the BT headphones, things are "good"
    Disk Utility found no issues
RePairing the headphones does not help
I rest the PRAM last night, and the problem went away completely, everything worked. Put the machine in Sleep, went to bed, woke up, problem was back.
The BT menu think the headphones still Connected, they are NOT in the Sound Prefs (were when working), At this point the Sound Prefs won't close, and all I get again is the beach ball that spins endlessly (30 minutes).
I don't know if this is a BT issue, a Sound Prefs issue, or what, but again this morning I am broken.

  • Nano 7th gen bluetooth issues

Today my nano shut off and would not turn on. I waited a hour and tried holding the buttons and it turned on. Everything was good. A problem I had a few weeks ago was when the nano was shaken the blue tooth starts to disconect and reconect. After it turned off and would not turn on until now it is having more bluetooth issues. I use this to run and my head phones are moterola blue tooth running head phones. Does the nano have issues with this??
I reformated and everything. Should I return it??

The Nano has only two profiles, A2DP (Stereo Bluetooth, allowing it to connect with compatible headphones/speakers), and Low Energy, to connect with pulse meters, etc. It does no have File Transfer Protocol so you cannot use it to sync with your iPad or Samsung S3.
