Yoga 13, Windows 8 Pro, Single-Click sometimes results in Double-Click

I'm using a brand new Yoga 13 (Window 8 Pro).  Clicking on the touchpad (not the touch screen) sometimes has issues.  Specifically, every once in a while, a single-click on the touchpad will result in double-click behavior.
I'm not referring to tapping, but rather physical clicking (press, depress touchpad on the lower left).
I disabled tap-to-click in case it was registering the tap, and then the click.  That didn't resolve the issue.
I also increased the speed required (within Windows) for a double-click to the fastest (least time between clicks) possible.  That also didn't resolve the issue.
It really seems like the touchpad, every once in a while, registers a double-click, like some sort of physical defect in the touchpad that presses, depresses, presses depresses immediately.
Ideas?

I'm running Windows 8 (Not Pro) on a brand new Yoga 13 and am experiencing the same probem.  It doesnt happen all the time but just enough to be really annoying.  It seems like if I try right clicking I can get it to stop.

  • Lenovo Yoga with Windows 8 Pro, Office 2013 and Visual Studio

For you developer types, I just wanted to post a message and let you know my experience with Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 13 as a development machine. I bought Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 13 from Bestbuy for $999.99. As expected, it came with a crap ton of bloatware installed by Lenovo.
Here is a summary of what I did to it (I take no responsilibity for accuracy of below information. You are on your own if you decide to follow them. I am just putting this down from my memory so that I can look it up in the future if I ever need to do this again).
    INITIAL CLEANUP
Installed Lenovo hotfix for partition cleanup/merging: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS033035
    Installed Lenovo Touchpad driver fix.
CAUTION: I take no responsibility for below steps. I am writing them from memory and if you decide to follow them and end up making your machine unusable, you are on your own as Lenovo might not honor your warranty.
BACK UP ENTIRE DISK (requires an empty USB flash drive for booting and another external USB drive for backup)
Copied Drivers from D_Backup folder to the external USB hard drive (plugged into USB 3.0 port).
Installed Paragon Backup & Recovery 2012 Free: http://www.paragon-software.com/home/br-free/
Created Paragon Backup & Recovery boot USB flash drive with default Linux recovery environment option (flash drive plugged into USB 2.0 port).
    Shutdown Lenovo Yoga.
Plugged in the Paragon Backup & Recovery boot USB flash drive (USB 2.0 port).
Pressed the one key recovery button (next to power button). Went to BIOS.
In the BIOS, enabled Legacay mode and made Legacy high priority and saved the changes.
The machine booted into Paragon Backup & Recovery mode. From there, made a backup of entire disk to the external USB hard drive.
Shut down the machine, pressed the one key recovery button (next to power button). Went to BIOS. Turned off Legacy mode and switched back to UEFI boot mode and saved the changes and restarted the machine.
Logged into the machine and verified that everything was good and checked the external USB drive to verify that the backup image was present.
MAKE WINDOWS 8 PRO BOOT USB FLASH DRIVE (requires a second empty USB flash drive and a second computer with Windows 7. This USB Flash Drive has to be between 4GB to 32GB as Windows won't format 64GB flash drives to FAT32 mode)
(Note: I installed Windows 8 Pro in UEFI mode. See http://pcsupport.about.com/od/windows-8/a/install-windows-8-usb.htm)
You need a licensed ISO image of Windows 8 Professional Full version (not the upgrade version) from your MSDN or Technet subscription or create an ISO from the Windows 8 Pro full version DVD.
Download Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool on the computer with windows 7.
Plug in the second empty USB flash drive (has to be at least 4GB but less than 32GB) into the computer with Windows 7.
Using Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool and the ISO file, create the Windows 8 Pro bootable USB Flash drive.
Create a new folder on your computer disk, for example, C:\WIN8USB.
Copy all the files from your USB flash drive to the newly created folder (created in the previous step).
Right click on the USB drive icon in Computer window and select “Format…” from the context menu. Make sure you select “FAT32 (Default)” in “File system” drop down menu. Click “Start” and wait till the drive gets formatted. This step is needed because NTFS is not readable by BIOS in UEFI boot mode. During formatting, MBR is preserved so the thumbdrive is still bootable.
Copy all the files from the folder you created earlier (C:\WIN8USB, for example) to the formatted drive. Your Windows 8 installation USB drive is ready to install in UEFI mode.
    WIPE THE DISK PARTITIONS
Shut down the machine, pressed the one key recovery button (next to power button). Went to BIOS, enabled Legacay mode and made Legacy high priority and saved the changes.
Booted into Paragon Backup & Recovery boot USB flash drive again. This time, I deleted all partitions on the primary disk (Disk 0). CAUTION: This WILL wipe your hard disk and will make your machine unusable!!!
Shut down the machine, pressed the one key recovery button (next to power button). Went to BIOS. Turned off Legacy mode and switched back to UEFI boot mode and saved the changes and shut down the machine.
At this point, the disk is wiped clean. All factory installed software and recovery partitions are gone!!!
    INSTALL WINDOWS 8 PRO
Plug in the USB Flash Drive with Windows 8 Pro install files.
Windows 8 Installer would show the unallocated disk space. I can't remember the exact details but either I had to click on Delete or New to delete and then create a new GPT partition. The entire partition was about 119GB.
From that point, follow the Windows 8 Pro installation steps.
After booting up into Windows 8 Pro, plug the external USB drive that had the drivers folder backed up from D_backups.
Install all the drivers from this folder (I was able to install everything except for one Intel fast boot one because of missing partition but my Yoga still boots up just as fast).
Go to device manager to check and everything should be good now.
    Run Windows Update.
You should now have about 101GB free on C: drive!!
INSTALL VISUAL STUDIO, SQL SERVER and OFFICE 2013 ON LENOVO YOGA 13
I installed the following in that order:
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Developer edition (I installed all components, everything!). Then I installed latest service pack.
Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 (I installed all components, everything!). Then I installed latest service pack.
Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Developer edition(I installed all components, everything!). Then I installed latest service pack.
Microsoft Visual Studio 2012(I installed all components, everything!)
I ran Windows update and also installed Nov 2012 updates of SQL Server Data tools.
I then installed Office 2013 Pro Plus.
MAKE LENOVO YOGA 13 MORE SECURE
Go to Control Panel and enable Windows Defender (it is included by default in Windows 8 and is anti-virus and anti-malware solution)
Enable full hard-disk encryption using BitLocker feature of Windows 8 Pro. Since Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 13 doesn't have hardware TPM, you have to enable password based option. For this, follow the steps here: http://rics.partners.org/show_article.php?id=274.
Basically, you go to GPEDIT.MSC and Open Computer Configuration => Administrative Templates => Windows Components => BitLocker Drive Encryption => Operating System Drives. From the right pane double-click "Require additional authentication at startup. Select Enabled radio button and check the box for "Allow BitLocker without a compatible TPM...". Click OK and close the policy editor. Then Right-click your C drive in the Computer folder, click Turn on BitLocker. Then select Enter a password instead of USB option. Then provide a strong password (make sure to write it down and put it in a SAFE place, if you lose the password, no one can boot into your hard disk). Then select Save to a file and save it to the External Drive. Select "Encrypt entire drive...", click Next. When this is done, you will get a pop-up on the lower-right a prompt to restart the computer. Restart your PC. Enter the encryption password created earlier. If you are successful in getting into Windows, you're all set.
I also hooked up to Skydrive and used BoxCryptor to encrypt my files in cloud.
The available free disk space should now be about 54GB.
I verified that Lenovo Yoga 13 works like a champ with no slowdown with Visual Studio 2010, Visual Studio 2012 and SQL Server Management Studio open simultaneously and Bitlocker enabled!
The keyboard right SHIFT key is small but other than that, it can work as a great portable development machine and Microsoft Reader is great for reading PDF eBooks.
So if you are a Developer on Microsoft platform, go right ahead. Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13 is great for running Visual Studio 2010 and Visual Studio 2012 (1600x900 resolution is totally usable) while on the move. Since I have only had this machine for a few days, I can't tell much about the long term reliability.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Thank you for posting this. I am in this exact situation. I purchased a yoga 13, and installed Visual Studio Express 2012 for Windows Phone. As it turns out, the Windows Phone Emulator ONLY works in a Windows 8 Pro environment. Since the Yoga doesn't have a disc drive, I shared my W7 computer's cd drive, then put in Windows 8 Pro, so that it could install onto the Yoga. Well, after the installation was done, I tried running my program again and ran into the same issue. It prompted me that my environment must be Windows 8 Pro! I thought that Windows 8 Pro already installed but, what confuses me is that I see no indication that Windows 8 Pro installed. When I go to the System Window, it reads: "Windows 8". Should it read Windows 8 Pro?
Ultimately, I'd like to know, are you able to execute the Windows Phone Emulator? I'm not sure as to whether the Yoga has the hardware capability (needs to be SLAT enabled or something like that?), I HOPE it is able to, and judging by your post, it seems like it but I'd love to know your perspective on my approach.
Please let me know if this makes sense, as I'm new to this kind of thing but really want to start development for Windows Phone.

  • Uncontrollable mouse button events (single clicks are doubled?)

    Hello, folks--
I am having a mouse problem that is driving me up the wall. The mouse in question is an optical IM/PS2 mouse--it is a cheap no-name product, but has worked fine for 2 or 3 years. The trouble started maybe six weeks ago when I did a full upgrade. The most important change that I know of in that upgrade was the introduction of HAL, so I strongly suspect that the cause of the problem is related to my HAL configuration, or perhaps a conflict between that and my X config. But anyway, the symptoms I've been seeing include (but are not limited to):
      * Firefox: a single click selects an entire paragraph
      * Thunderbird: a single click in the message list opens the message in a new window
      * Xfwm: a single click on the "windowshade" button collapses the window, then expands it again
(or vice versa, depending on the initial state)
      * Xfwm: when dragging a window quickly, the mouse "loses its grip"--i.e. the window stops moving even
though I am still moving the mouse
None of these things happens every time, but they all happen often. The problems seem most severe in Firefox, but given that similar things happen elsewhere, I would imagine that's due to Firefox's complex event handling exposing a pervasive problem, rather than any kind of application-specific issue.
With the possible exception of the window-dragging issue, all the above symptoms are consistent with a problem I have seen reported elsewhere, that single clicks are being read as double clicks. However, the only clearly applicable solution I've seen for that issue is to remove all mouse configuration from Xorg.conf, leaving it up to HAL. I tried that and it didn't seem to change anything. However, at the same time I purged the mouse from Xorg.conf, I created an FDI file for the mouse in /etc/hal/fdi/policy. I wonder now if that was necessary--there was no FDI for the mouse before, but perhaps there doesn't really need to be one if you aren't applying any special settings? Dunno, I don't understand much about HAL yet.
I have tried a couple of other things: first, I set the double click speed to the minimum using the Xfce Mouse Settings applet (BTW, I suppose this applet is a front-end to some shell command or config file, but what?). That seems to help, but only a little. Second, if I use the mouse in an unnaturally precise manner (e.g., when single-clicking, I click as quickly as possible and lift my finger all the way off the button), the problems mostly, but not entirely, disappear.
    Any suggestions?

Did you try another mouse by chance?
Well, no, and I suppose to be thorough I should try that. But I am quite sure that the problem appeared suddenly, and exactly at the time of the upgrade I mentioned.
Well, it could be that your fdi modification tries to catch the mouse events twice in a row. Perhaps you should post the file.
Besides: There is are no mouse specific fdi settings in my system. I currently have no idea where the mouse behaviour was defined besides my still old xorg.conf. (I did only activate Option "AutoAddDevices".)

  • Why am I sometimes sending duplicate emails and why when I sometimes single click an incoming messages to view it in the viewer window  why does it open?

My computer got very touchy a few days ago as in the finder or in mail I would single click to select an item and it would open (rather than alloiwng me to just select it) or I would command select to select several items and they would open before I finished.
I did a complete reinstall and finder part of the problem is gone, but it still exists in Mail.  Also before the reinstall just about every email I sent would duplicate-- not it only happens occaisionally.
Anyone got any ideas-- thank you

Hi, ybg, and welcome to the Community,
Your detailed report (thank you) indicates to me your account has been compromised a second time.  Change your Skype account password immediately if you have not already done so, as well as that of any saved payment method on file.  I would also run a maintenance cycle on your computer/laptop, ensuring all patches and updates are installed.  Also run your preferred anti-virus/malware/spyware suite using the most recent virus signature files available.
You are right to contact Skype Customer Service to report this incident.  I have read that people experience problems reaching them, however please do continue to do so, choosing a different path through the various steps than you used the first time; try also using a different web browser.  I have also read that the instant message chat sessions with Customer Service agents appear as a pop-up dialogue box, which needs to be enabled or the connection to the agent will not process.
Here is a link to the instruction on how to contact Skype Customer Service via their secure portal: Contact Customer Service
As a general proactive precaution, I would recommend reviewing how you access the internet, particularly seeking any vulnerabilities or patterns common to the first incident and this one.

  • I need an audio driver for Yoga 13 with Windows 7 Pro 64 bits English

    Hi all,
I downgraded my Yoga 13 from Windows 8 to Windows 7 pro 64 bits, and ever since then I have a problem with my microphone.
Skype finds the microphone and can use it, calls are all working fine, but any other program using audio does not work with the microphone.
After troubleshooting, I concluded that I need to update the driver but I cannot find it. Anything that I find on the Lenovo support pages does not install (event the one found on this page: http://support.lenovo.com/fr/fr/downloads/ds002860).
After looking at this post: http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Idea-Windows-based-Tablets-and/I-need-an-Internet-driver-for-Yoga-13-wit.... I figured I would to be provided with the link by someone from Lenovo support.
Here's the hardware ID of the soundcard: HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_14F1&DEV_506E&SUBSYS_17AAA001&REV_1000. In Windows it is recognized as High Definition Audio (in the device manager).
Thanks a lot for your help.

    Hello,
From looking at the Yoga 13 Hardware Maintenance Manual and downloading the driver package from the Realtek Wireless LAN & Bluetooth Driver for Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit) - IdeaPad Yoga 13 page and extracting (but not running) it to look at the contents, it appears the Yoga 13 uses a wireless LAN card based on Realtek RTL8732 chipset.
I would suggest that you try downloading the drivers, expanding, but not installing them on to a USB flash drive or SD card, then plugging that into the Yoga 13, running the Device Manager (filename: DEVMGMT.MSC), clicking on the appropriate entry for the wireless network adapter, selecting update, and then choosing the Browse my computer for driver software option, pointing that to the location of the unpacked drivers.  Perhaps Device Manager will find the correct drivers to install that way.

  • Can I install windows 8 pro on my Yoga 13 ?

    Hello,
I have a windows 8 pro version, and for proffessional raisons I want to install it on my yoga. It will not be a problem ? All drivers for this are available on download ?
    Thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

There is no difference in Win8 standard vs. pro other than the features.
It would not accept my corporate key, so I bought the license key from Amazon.com (Microsoft is not only more expensive, but they also do not provid digital key download) and applied it.  I forgot the exact application, but it has to do with adding features to WIndows 8.
Do note that hte update fails for many people, including myself.  You'll need to disable & stop the Nitro PDF services, particullary the licensing one, reboot and try again.  There is a thread on here you should find through a search.  I just removed NitroPDF as I had no interest to use it.  I much prefer PDF Xchange and full Acrobat Pro if required.

I keep multiple windows opened and minimized. Sometimes when I click on the task bar to restore one, it apparently "disappears" out of view beyond the upper left corner of the screen. From then on, it can only be seen by using Maximize in the task bar. When Restore/Move/Size are clicked, the pointer just goes to the upper left corner of the screen with all combinations of clicking/dragging having no success. What causes this, and what can be done to move it back?

If a window disappear then using the system menu can make it reappear or make it possible to move that window in view. I don't know what causes it to make the window disappear in your case if it does work correctly if you start Firefox.
You can check the browser.link.open_newwindow prefs on the about:config page if you want to open all links in tabs in the current window.

  • Windows 7 classic shell without single click??

I have 700 windows xp machines in a retail environment that I am prepping to swap out with Windows 7 machines.  These xp machines are joined to our domain, and fairly locked down via group policy.  I am in the process of putting together our new
Windows 7 image and building the group policies.  Our goal is to maintain as much of the same look and feel that we have with our Win XP machines for this application.
That being said - I have enabled Windows Classic theme (by leaving UserConfiguration > Administrative Templates > Control Panel > Personalization > Force a specific visual style or force Windows Classic blank).  This seems to work just fine.
I have the expected results for background, start menu, window appearance.  What is confusing me is - my mouse somehow got set to single click.  I do not want this.  It seems to have happened with turning on windows classic??  I haven't
been able to find a GPO or GPP (or registry hack, for that matter) to turn it off.
I look in Explorer > Folder and search options > Click items as follows - Double-click to open an item is the radio button that is marked active.  I was able to set my staging user (non admin level) to a local admin, re-login, click Single click
to open an item --> click apply --> click double click to open an item --> click apply and ok.  Now things are as I want them.  It seems that by manually making this change it does the trick.  I won't have this luxury in the field.
Any input as to a workaround or what is actually going on would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    sb

    Hi,
To disable the "single click", you need to disable the GPO setting "Turn on Classic Shell" under the node given below,
    User Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Windows Explorer\Turn on Classic Shell

  • Mouse on imac double clicking on single click, not grabbing windows, etc...

My older iMac (with failing video card, etc) exhibits this weird mouse behavior. I'm using a standard issue clear plastic single button "Pro Mouse" connected to the keyboard via usb. The Double Click speed is set all the way to very slow in Preferences, but still, a single click on something acts as a double click. The mouse will also give me a hard time about grabbing things to drag them around- Its super annoying. I can't click and hold and move something a lot of the time, and clicking and holding will also act as a double click and open what I am trying to move (say an application in the folder I want to pull to the dock, it will open the program rather than allow me to pull to dock.... etc.)
    Any ideas?

    another example:
I'll have an email highlighted in Mail and click delete and it will delete 2 emails with one click...
super frikkin annoying. Double click speed is all the way down to slow.

  • Cannot single click when waking macbook pro

lately when waking my macbook pro, mountain lion, 10.8.2, the trackpad will move the mouse around but for 3 or more minutes it is impossible to single click the screen. any ideas why this is happening or how to fix

well, the sad news is that although there are thousands of people with this issue, Apple is NOT going to recall the computers and fix them. This is particularly bad news for me as I am part of a team that is working with the poor in a devastated area of the Philippines and I cannot afford to get a replacment.
I don't know what I am going to do when my Macbook will not wake up anymore....
If anyone has news or suggestions on how to get help from Apple, please forward it to me

  • Why does selecting a web link open 2 windows, one with the link and the other the home page? This is a single click of the mouse.

When I single click on a weblink (usually in an email, Firefox starts up and opens two windows; one with the selected web page and one with my home page. If Firefox is running, it opens a new tab which is what normally occurs. It is only when it is not open that I now get the 2 windows. I have an imac running OSX 10.6.3

    Hi,
The rolling over from radius servers only occurs on the same wlan and only when the controller deems the radius server being dead. However, if you get rejected from one WLAN but then you reassociate to another WLAN there is no mechanism in place in rejecting the attempt because they previously failed on a seperate wlan. This happens all the time with users connecting on incorrect wlans.
The failover feature is for when you have multiple servers (usually for redundancy) on the same WLAN. So when user is rejected but radius server 1 the process stops there and the request isnt sent to radius server 2.
    Hope that helps!

  • Thunderbird version 31.4.0 - 1. Single click now (sometimes) brings the full email up instead of staying on the inbox setting.

Used to have to double click on a message in the inbox for it to bring it into full screen mode. Now a single click does it randomly. If you have several messages highlighted and Control-click on another one it randomly brings all selections up in separate tabs. Also have seen the app resize smaller when one of these happens.

It is a combination of a bug and a misguided change in the search option. The auto complete used to go on "starts with" but now it uses " includes".
We keep hearing that they are working on a fix but so far all versions after v31 have this issue.
The last general release that worked properly was v24.6. You might want to go back to that version.

  • MacBook Pro 2012 hinge problem with single click sound when i open it

when i go to sleep and shut my macbook off and close the screen next morning i open my screen and i hear a single click noise??
im paranoid ita a brand new macbook its not a hard drive fail it just a single click sound when i open it to turn on
and heres a video of the hinge is this is whats causing the single click sound? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEUt2p783nA

I have this problem too with my Mid-2012 MBP non-retina. The screen would click once, after being left for a long time, and would be fine after that, until you close it and re-open it again after a long time. It is especially loud in the morning so I think it is temperature dependent. Happened about 3 months after buying. I took it to Apple. First time they replaced the entire screen. They had to since that is the only way to replace the hinge. When I got it back, the screen still clicks. Took it back to Apple again. Second time they just tightened the screws securing the display with the unibody. When I got it back the second time, the screen still clicks. Took it back to Apple again. The third time they replaced the entire screen AGAIN! When I got it back, the problem was fixed for 2 days, then the screen started clicking again so I'm back to square one. I'm wondering whether I should take it to Apple the forth time, but then again, they've already replaced the screen twice which didn't work so I'm not sure what more they can do. It's either this is normal, which implies the screen hinge is really badly designed or the clicking has nothing to do with the screen at all.

  • I can't reinstall Windows Xp pro SP3 from installation disk on my IBM Thinkpad T40

    Dear folk,
I have bought used IBM Thinkpad t40 in Germany.
It has Windows XP in German, wich works well but it makes some dificulties while I am using some functions.
I decided to reinstall Windows XP Pro in English.
My Windows XP Pro CD instructed me to install XP from BIOS.
    This is how it works.
I got to BIOS by clicking blue button "IBM acsess".
I have got to BIOS released in 15/05/2003.
My Win XP Pro CD instructed me to press Delete to boot Cd-Rom and run Win XP installator.
Meanwhile, pressing "Delete" button did not produce any effect.
I got to Start up menu in BIOS, then I tried to run CD-Rom to run Windows XP from my installation CD.
But it has not produce any effect.
    System stayed still.
As result, I can not install Windows XP English version.
Please, hint me how can I reistall Windows XP English on my notebook.
May be something with old BIOS version and I has to update it?
Should I use other menu in BIOS for installation (actually I used all of them)?
    Or anything else? Please, advice.
Or I has to learn German? )))
    Looking forward for any help.

    Hi and welcome..
leave short your german XP on your T40 ... you need it to update BIOS..
first i prefer to update your BIOS ... Download this T40 BIOS
    Version: 1RETDRWW (3.23) Release Date: 2007/07/03
you see this is abit newer ... follow the instructions to update...if update is successfull...you can go in BIOS
look at tab startup ... change startup sequence so that DVD/CD Drive is on first place and usb-device on second and HDD on third you can move this via F5 / F6.. exit and save with F10 ...
Download all drivers that you need from this page and save them on extra USB Stick or external HDD...you will need this to complete your install after XP is fresh installed
    T40 Driver Table
Insert your English XP with SP3 in DVD/CD Drive and restart...
if a message comes press space to install from CD ...
follow the instructions.. delete (format drive C: where the german XP is ... and install XP in english..
when installation process is done... look at device manager you see many yellow questionmarks ..no installed drivers... Now use the pre-downloaded drivers from external HDD/USB Device... keep in mind that drivers are compressed when clicking on that the driver first deflates to c:\drivers\win\ [foldername]... sometimes you have to go in the correct folder and start setup to install it for real...
or you can install TVSU ThinkVantageSystemUpdater:
    TVSU

  • Losing system date in windows XP Pro

I have two "number crunchers" based on K7N2GM-V motherboards that run 24/7 with the CPU pegged at 100%.  Both have AMD Athlon barton core CPUs.  One has a XP 2600 (OPN AXDA2600DKV4D) and the other has a 2500 (OPN AXDA2500DKV4D).  The 2600 was clocked 2.25GHz (2252MHz) - 11.5 x 195.8 but has since been lowered to 11.5 x 193.75 = 2228.11MHz.  The 2500 is clocked at 11 x 200 = 2199.96MHz.  Both have a single stick 256MB of PC3200 at CL2.0-3-3-7.  Both are running aftermarket air coolers.  Both running Windows XP Pro, the 2600 has SP1, the 2500 has SP2.  Both of these do nothing but run the BOINC platform number crunching science projects.  No monitor, no keyboard, no mouse, no add-in cards (KVM switched if I have to get to BIOS) but are accessed with RealVNC.  Just Mobo, CPU, PSU and 1 HDD all wire tied into stackable plastic baskets (see pic on website if interested).  I have 6 of these but these two are MSI mobos.
My problem is both of these have on occasion lost the windows date (usually reverting to sometime in the year 2000) which causes my app all sorts of problems.  The 2500 has not done it to me in a few weeks.  The more recently set up 2600 is loosing the date almost every 3rd day.  I'm not sure if this is OC related or not but wanted to see if anyone had any ideas.  None of my other "crunchers" are giving me this problem, all are OC'd Barton or Thorton core based in ASRocks (1) and Gigabyte (3) mobos.
    Thanx, Skip

I would say battery was going bad but it seems odd none of your other bios settings are affected. Try clicking on the windows clock and looking under Internet Time and set it find time in certain intervals so it stays updated.
I've never seen any way to set the interval in Win XP... I think it's once a week.  I did write a .bat file last night and put it in a daily schedule to sync that computer to my main desktop.  I'm starting to wonder if these things sit in a warehouse too long and after a while get "charged up" since the 2500 which is maybe 4 months old gave me this problem for a while and now seems OK.  The 2600 is new and giving me this problem again.  Anyway... I'll check the battery tonight.
