Yoga 2 Pro - Dragon Assistant Update Failure

I was setting up Dragon Assistant, and the program told me that an update was available.  I clicked on Update, and the program uninstalled itself, but failed to reinstall an updated version.  The Dragon Assistant "application" folder is now empty.  I tried running the update exe application from nuance dragon assistant folder in windows explorer, but the update exe could not find the files it needed to run.  Repair" is not listed as an option for Dragon Assistant in the "Programs and Features" control panel.  So -- how do I restore Dragon Assistant to my machine?  Thanks.

Hello. This is Benoit from Nuance Communications. We are aware of this issue and are in the process of telling Lenovo and Intel about what can be done to fix it. For now, we have the following solution to propose.
If the update of Dragon Assistant to version 1.5.15 fails, try to do the following:
Type Windows-R, enter the following command, and press enter:
"%TEMP%\a-Dragon Assistant Application Update en_US 1.5.15.exe"
If that doesn't work, download the following file, and run it:
http://dragonassistantcontent.nuance.com/release-1.1.1/1.5.15/Dragon%20Assistant%20Application%20Upd...
Once this is done, we recommend that you run the Dragon Assistant Updater tool prior to starting Dragon Assistat again. You can find it in the Start screen by typing "Dragon Assistant Updater".
Please reply here if you still have issues with the Dragon Assistant update.

  • Yoga 2 Pro, Win 10 update, reverting back to 8.1

Hi, first time poster here. I went for the Windows 10 upgrade from my 8.1 Yoga 2 Pro laptop, things seemed mostly fine except for when using the laptop in any mode apart from standard laptop mode. Response from touch swipes were extrememely laggy. And as I bought and use this device in these various other modes I thought it was a rather limiting update. I advise caution on that front. I have reverted back to Windows 8.1 and have had some issues with Apps working, particularly the lenovo ones. I have tried the usual measures of uninstalling and restarting, but the app store won't let me re-download them. It says they are still installed. Any help would be appreciated.   Thanks!

I had a couple of issues after a win 10 STD upgrade from USB lash drive. Windows update wouldn't run at all. I needed to completely turn off Use Account Control and then rerun windows update. It would then start, but the update process failed. I ran the troubleshooting app in the control panel for windows update, which fixed the problem. I could then turn UAC back to where it was. I also have 2 problem devices in device manager, which I haven't fixed yet.

After 24 hours, I have had a couple of times that the machine hung or crashed, and needed to be rebooted.

  • Win 7 Pro 64bit - BIOS Update Failure 2ACN37WW

    G'day Genlemen,
I am upgrading to 2g RAM and need to update my BIOS. However I am not able to get the program to run from Windows 7 Pro 64bit. I am trying to install 2ACN37WW.exe
When I open the program as administator it pops up for a second and disappears, I've tried running it in compatibility mode which doesn't help.
Do I need to be using a 32bit OS for the 2ACN37WW.exe to run in Windows? I have followed the txt instructions exactly.
Is there another way I can update to 2ACN37WW outside of Windows? Like the Thinkpad T serious CD BIOS update method?

  • New Intel HD4400 drivers for Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro?

Intel has new drivers for the HD4400 graphics chipset that's supposed to fix a bunch of issues and that's downloadable from Intel's website. Intel's update utility identifies the drivers as compatible with Yoga 2 Pro, but when attempting to install the installer aborts itself and tells the user to acquire the drivers from the "manufacturer", i.e. Lenovo.
When I check on the Lenovo site, however, there are only drivers dated October 2013.
In graphics driver age that's ancient.
So when is Lenovo allowing its Yoga 2 Pro users to update their HD4400 drivers, which in Oct 2013 were rather broken?
I'm talking about inadequate resolution scaling for the Yoga 2 Pro's high-res screen in some games, for instance, which is a pretty big issue to left unfixed. Meanwhile the Intel Update Manager that came with the Yoga 2 Pro's software bundle cannot, as of May 2014, even connect itself to the net to check for updates for whatever reason.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I was messing around with the power saving features with the Intel Software.
Y2P (Power profile is my own doing)
    -CPU @ .7Ghz
-Brightness @ one button press below 50% on the slider bar
    -CPU utilization 0-1%
    -Keyboard led off
    -Wifi on
    Panel Self refresh off
Extended battery life for gaming off
    Display power saving off
    = 5,600 mWh
    Panel Self refresh on
Extended battery life for gaming on
Display power saving on (slider to max battery)
    = 4,600 mWh
I didn't get any screen flicker but I only had it on those settings for 10 or 15 minutes
As I am typing this post with one tab in Firefox open it is running at 6,600 mWh. Windows reporting 4:22 Hr and 52% battery remaining.

  • Yoga 2 Pro/i7/8GB/512SSD Dragon Assistant and other (software) issues

    Hi all,
I've been playing with my new Yoga 2 for a week now. I like how light, fast and quiet the machine is. I do however feel the machine is kind of buggy and wanted to see if anyone else was having similar issues. Windows 8.1 makes me feel like an idiot but I'm slowly learning how to customize everything to my liking. On to the issues:
    1. I tried to download the Dragon Assistant installer and the installation didn't work properly. Now I can't find the installer anywhere on my computer to relaunch it. I am able to find it when I'm in control panel/uninstall program but I only have the option to uninstall from the machine, not repair it. Where the heck is the dang installer?!?
    2. I wasn't able to download iTunes, after a few unsuccessful tries I went to an online forum and someone having the same issues posted an alternative link for the download and that seemed to have done the trick.
    3. I have duplicate apps listed under my start pin, like the Lenovo phone compainon is listed under two different sections and it's driving me NUTS!
    4. My screen seems to flicker everyonce in awhile, is this common with other Yoga 2 users?
I guess I'm trying to find out if others have had the same issues as I have, if there are solutions to the issues and if I should ultimately return the machine because it's faulty and try to get another one.
Any help/ advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I am glad to hear this because I have screen flickering too.  I also have a problem with my Dragon not working correctly.
    emeria & Dream2300...
Would you describe the "flickering" as though the panel brightness was stepping up (or down) a number of steps in very small increments? If so, what you may be seeing is the adaptive brightness feature at work. I have disabled it on my Y2P and see no flickering.
If you go into the advanced settings of your power plan, look for the Display settings near the bottom. Expand the tree and check the Adaptive Brightness settings. You may also want to check the Power section under the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel. Check the Display Power Saving Technology item under the On Battery heading. Mine is set to Off.

  • Yoga 2 Pro Went DEAD After BIOS Update

Had a horrible experience .. with good ending ... when upgrading Bios for my Yoga 2 Pro. So I'd like to share with others. I bought my Yoga 2 Pro last June (Man 3/22/14) and love it! But, it had problem restarting automatically after Windows Update. At least 3 times (That I can recall. Did not use it briefly from June 30 - July 22), the screen reminding user not to shutdown after Windows the update would stay on until I manually powered it down and restarted it. Last July 23, it did again after Windows Update. Searched Lenovo web-site and found a Bios Update for Yoga 2 Pro (Win 8.1 64-bit). Downloaded the new Bios (dated July 11, 2014) and went through the instruction striclty. First of, the screen responses were not at all as detailed in the instruction. So, the instruction is not very good.  Received 2 warnings: Make sure the laptop is connected to the charger during the procedure, and the bios is for Yoga 2 Pro ONLY do not install it on any other models. As part fo the procedure, the laptop switched to a Bios Utility program. Again received the aforementioned warnings. Update progress was shown on the screen. All of a sudden, then screen went blank and the keyboard stayed lit. Waited for about 30 minutes. Still the same. Press and held the power button down (not sure for how long)  ... nothing!   Just no response from the latop.  Called Tech support. She (the tech support lady) said that ... it is not recommended for user to go through the BIOS upgrade! What?  Then why post it on Lenovo.com? She also said that I should not have downloaded software from the internet and upgrade, especially for BIOS. Well, I told her that I did not download the program from ANY web-site, I downloaded it from LENOVO.com. She said further that looks like the BIOS update had damaged my mother-board, there is a problem with Win 8 & 8.1, and because it was my own doing ... the damage would not be covered by the warranty!  Considering the circumstance, Lenovo would waiver the initial $99 fee to assess the damage, but I would have to pay for any repair costs. In any case, I was so fumed at Lenove Tech Support responses that I hung up. close my laptop and put it aside. Almost 24 hours later, when the battery drained completely, I connected the laptop to the charger, press the power button to turn it on ... and ... to my surprise, the laptop booted and everything came back normal! The last (7/25) auto restart seemed to go well. Not sure if the auto restart problem is fixed with the new BIOS, but it seems to be. Time will tell.

Thank you for your posting.  I searched the net when I ran into the problem, but could not find any help.  Obviously, my search was not exhaustive. I was trying to make the following:    a.  Lenov should be more specific in their BIOS update instruction.  Their instruction was ... far ... far from reality.      b.  Lenovo tech assistance was ... not much help.  After listening to the description of my prolem, the tech lady immediately said that the operation must have damaged the mother-board, and that the operation is not ... recommended.  No guidance on draining the battery a or how to restart the machine, etc...  What I received was confusing that caused more panic!   As a note, I had done BIOS upgrade on DELL PC/laptop before w/o any problem.  I fully understand the implication of a BIOS upgrade, but trusted that manufacturer fully tested whatever that they post in their web-site.  Oh well, live ... and learn!  All in all, the Yoga 2 Pro is a great machine and I love it!  Hope that anyone who runs into the same problem will be able to get the needed help in time! Cheers,

  • Yoga 2 Pro : BIOS Update on a clean Windows 8.1 Pro install

    Hi,
I recently bought the Yoga 2 Pro. Like everybody I have the yellow problem.
After buying it, I reinstalled my computer with a fresh Windows 8.1 pro install.
I was wondering if anybody has already tried updating the BIOS on a clean Windows 8.1 install ?
And also if there is any reported bug with the BIOS update.
I already crashed a while back one of my previous computer and I would prefer if this don't append again
    Thanks,
    Best,

Not, i'm speaking about the BIOS update. The windows 8.1 pro installation was fine.

  • Yoga 2 Pro: No display after Windows Update failed.

Last night windows 8.1 tried to update 7 updates when I restarted my Yoga 2 Pro laptop.  The update hung on on the first update.  In the morning when I started up, there was no display. When I plugged it into an external display only that display worked.
I have tried refreshing windows with no luck.
A Lenovo Solution Centre scan of the hardware fails all Video Card tests, with the Result code: WVC007000-DJ7X1I
    (not sure what this means).
What do I do next?  I am away on business on Monday and need this fixed before then.  Any ideas?
    Cheers

Can you reboot into safe mode? That runs a more generic video driver. If so, you can try uninstalling the video driver then reinstalling it from the Lenovo web site.

  • Yoga 2 Pro wifi not working after driver update

Hi all, I just updated my brand new Lenovo Yoga 2 (13") from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. But after doing so, I cannot establish any WiFI/W-LAN-connection! If I go to the settings for network adapters in the system settings, I even caanot find the wireless LAN adapter as if it was not installed at all! Can anyone help me? Is there any source for new drivers or something else to fix this? Thanks a lot and best regards from GermanyJohannes

Hello all. Fisrt of all, this are my specs: Yoga 2 pro 13". WiFi card: Intel(R)Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260. I bought it from Best Buy on November 27, 2014. If you aquired your Yoga before this date, you may have the single band WiFi card. As many of you have experienced, I also had a bunch of issues with my WiFi connectivity and this is how I was able to solve it. At least it has been a couple of days that I haven't had any issues. The first symptom was the usual connection drops every X amount of time. For me it was about every 2 hours. I first unchecked the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" option in the Power Management tab of device manager and disabled U-APSD support in the Advanced tab of device manager. This action did not solve the problem. I then downloaded and updated the driver from the Intel web site (http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect) and this seemed to solve the drops; however, a new problem arised: Everytime my Yoga would wake up from sleeping mode, all my wifi networks were gone and the adapter showed as disabled in Device Manager. I would have to anable it to have my networks back. It was a solution but a pain the butt to have to do this everytime. After hours of reading post after post in several forums, I read a repy from Lenovo asking to try leaving the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" CHECKED if you were using the latest version of the driver. I went back to device manager and checked it back and that seems to have solved the problem. So far I haven't had any drops and everytime my laptop comes back from sleeping mode the WFi connection is still there! Here is a recap of how everything ended up: -The driver version I installed is 17.1.0.19-The driver date is 7/21/2014-In device manager|Advanced, U-APSD support is Disbled.-In device manager|Power Management, "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" is checked. Hope this helps somebody else.

  • Updating Yoga 2 Pro from Win 8.1 to 10 - dialog window problem!

    Hi.
I have downloaded the image (https://www.microsoft.com/da-dk/software-download/windows10) and created a bootable USB stick with that image. And when I boot from the USB stick, it starts out fine. BUT when the window with the Install dialog appears, it's så tiny (7cm x 6cm) that it's completely impossible to see the text - let alone hitting the radio-button with the mouse! I cannot change the display in any way during the install, so I have no option than to cancel the installation. I do NOT want to install win 10 from the net, as I did that yesterday on my Lenovo t400s, and that s*cks big time. It installs on the old Win 7 and keeps the old config, and I presume that this is the reason it performing really, really bad. So in other words, I want a clean install on a clean partition.
This is not new to me and this Yoga 2 PRO! As I am writing this - on my desktop PC - and is logged on to the net on the Yoga, "Intel Update Manager" appears on the desktop and the dialog window is 7 cm wide and 6 cm in hight, at the text 1 (ONE!) mm in hight!  And it does not help to change the displays settings to 800x600, the dialog box stays the same size :-(
I have the same problem when installing Office 2007, the dialog box is 7 x 6 cm, but here the text is size 10/11 and there is no scrolling possibilities - so it is not possible to make a custom installation because I have no other way to install, than to hit Enter! And when I come to the dialog where I have to enter the key, do a copy/paste of the key from a text document and hit Enter once again!
So in other words .... HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP :-)
I have tried the search option before starting this message, but cannot find anything :-(
    Have a nice day :-)
    /Frank
