Yoga 2 Pro lits networks but unable to connect

I did a clean install of Windows 10 on my Yoga 2 Pro and though it can list off wireless network I am unable to connect to any of them. It simply says "Can't connect to this network". I have tried installing the Windows 10 drivers, uninstalling them, turning off wifi in the BIOS and turning it back on after a reboot. None of it works.

The driver indeed has been troublesome lately for that card one reads. Have a try, if the following gets it working:
rmmod iwlwifi
modprobe iwlwifi 11n_disable=1 swcrypto=1
Then try to connect with your profile.

  • Connected to network but unable to connect to the internet wirelessly

    I recently installed a new hard drive in my dell inspirion e1405 laptop and I can no longer connect to the internet wirelessly using the WRT54G v2. When I use ethernet it works. It says I am connected to the network. I punched in the WEP key and I am connected. I power cycled my cable modem, laptop and router several times. I followed these linksys suggestions:
    Checking the IP Address of the PC
    Checking the Wireless Settings on a Linksys Router
    Disabling Computer's Firewall
    Disabling Proxy Settings
    Pinging the Router
    Pinging the Internet
    and it still isn't working. I downloaded the firmware and that did not work. I am using XP MCE 2005. I updated the driver for my dell wireless card several times and also deleted it from the device manager and rebooted. Still nothing.
    Anyone have an idea?

    Well, hope this might help
    make sure you only get IP from the router's DHCP. yes, you must set Obtain IP Address for all network adapter on your notebook (wired and wireless). the basic is, all things will be fine if this IP issue is not around. coz, at behind, they do something more than give / got IP, such as creating routing path automatically. that which will be guaranteed the success of ethernet communication for wired and wireless.
    i cannot guess your problem, but you might want to do this.
    first, as above said, just Obtain IP Address, make it for both adapter on your notebook
    second, wireless security, must talk in same way (SSID, Channel, b/a/g/n) and use same key (WEP or WPA, passphrase/secret key).
    third, if anyhow you got connected but still can't go through internet, but, you can ping or access your router, for example, open your router web server to do some change of the configuration, means your packet is stuck on the router and cannot deliver further to internet and it is gateway issue. no else.
    well, three shots shall go but you might need more bullets coz this is called troubleshoot
    let's see how it will go.
    wish you luck

  • [SOLVED] wireless card finds networks, but unable to connect

    Hi,
    I have a notebook with the wireless card "Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1000". According to this site, the drivers are part of the iwlwifi project, so it should be included in the kernel.
    I installed wpa_supplicant and wireless_tools, and the interface wlan0 showed up:
    # ip link
    1: lo: <LOOPBACK,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 16436 qdisc noqueue state UNKNOWN mode DEFAULT
    link/loopback 00:00:00:00:00:00 brd 00:00:00:00:00:00
    2: eth0: <NO-CARRIER,BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP> mtu 1500 qdisc pfifo_fast state DOWN mode DEFAULT qlen 1000
    link/ether 04:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
    3: wlan0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 qdisc mq state DOWN mode DEFAULT qlen 1000
    link/ether 74:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
    So, I configured my wifi-network without any encryption. I installed netcfg and copied /etc/network.d/examples/wireless-open to /etc/network.d/, changed the essid and enabled debugging:
    DESCRIPTION='A simple opened wireless connection'
    INTERFACE='wlan0'
    SECURITY='none'
    ESSID='wrt'
    IP='dhcp'
    # Uncomment this if your ssid is hidden
    #HIDDEN=yes
    WPA_OPTS="-f/home/sigma/log"
    then I did
    # netcfg wireless-open
    :: wireless-open up
    > WPA Authentication/Association failed
    The debug file of netcfg says:
    Trying to authenticate with f4:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx (SSID='wrt' freq=2462 MHz)
    Trying to authenticate withf4:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx (SSID='wrt' freq=2462 MHz)
    Trying to authenticate with f4:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx (SSID='wrt' freq=2462 MHz)
    So I tried another wifi usb card, which works fine. I used the same netcfg profile as before and just changed INTERFACE='wlan0' to INTERFACE='wlan1'.
    The debug file says:
    Trying to authenticate with f4:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx (SSID='wrt' freq=2462 MHz)
    Trying to associate with f4:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx (SSID='wrt' freq=2462 MHz)
    Associated with f4:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
    CTRL-EVENT-CONNECTED - Connection to f4:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx completed (auth) [id=0 id_str=]
    So, the settings seem to be fine, it's probably some problem with the driver or a missing module. Any kind of advice is appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Just got comcast triple play.  Original ipad sees network but will not connect.

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

    Can't connect to hotspot with my iPad, picks it up but unable to connect. Any sugestions?

    When Access Connections fails to connect it asks if I want to configure the network and there's a bunch of settings. Connection type: infrastructure or Adhoc, Wireless security type "use static WEP keys", "Use Wi-Fi protected Access - Pre Shared Key (WPA-PSK)" - I choose it and under Properties there's more options. Access point authentication, WPA-PSK or WPA2-PSK; I've tried it both ways. Data encryption: TKIP or AES, I've been using TKIP. Under Pre-Shared Key, there's the only box I see to enter a password, so I enter the password there.
    Chances are pretty good that the problem is the network configuration of your PC and not the AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBS). What configuration options you choose will depend on how you set up the AEBS's wireless network, but the following can be used as a guideline:
    o Connection Type: Infrastructure
    o Wireless Security Type:
    AirPort Setting = PC Setting
    o WEP = WEP
    o WPA Personal = WPA-PSK w/TKIP
    o WPA2 Personal = WPA-PSK w/AES

    My ipad recognizes my home network but will not connect to the internet. When I click on AirPort/preferences at the top of the imac screen it says..."AirPort has a self-assigned ip address and may not connect to the internet". If this is the root of the problem,how can I change ip address?
    Ipad will connect no problem to other networks.

    First thing you need I think is to get your iMac connected to the Internet.
    Shut down your iMac and you iPad. Then power off your router. Wait 30 seconds and power up the router.
    After the router indicates that it is connected to the Internet then start up your iMac and see if it connects. If the iMac connects to the Internet then your iPad should too.
    If this power up sequence doesn't work you'll have to dig into the router setup to make sure it is working properly.

  • I installed a new wifi router and airport will not connect automatically to it. It sees the network but will not connect unless I tell it to.

    I installed a new wifi router and airport will not connect automatically to it. It sees the network but will not connect unless I tell it to. I can't find anywhere in the utility or network preferences that will allow me to choose this router as the default. How do I fix this? BTW I'm using Lion.

    Are there any previous networks that you have used that have the same password as Molly?  YES
    Using System Preferences > Network > AirPort Advanced again, you need to remove any listings of previous networks that used the same password as Molly. Click the name of the network and click the - (minus) button at the bottom of the list of connections.
    Also delete any other networks (except Molly at the top of the list) that might have used the same name...Molly in the past.
    Delete any other networks that you no longer need so that your Mac will search for networks more quickly
    Click OK, then click Apply
    Open KeyChain Access and look for a listing of any old networks that you no longer need. Click to highlight the name of the network, then click the Delete Key on your computer.
    Then look for any old networks that might have used the name Molly in the past and do the same for them.
    Then look for any old networks that might have used the same password as the password for your "new" Molly network and delete them in the same way
    Click the KeyChain Access menu just next to the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the computer screen
    and then click KeyChain First Aid
    Enter the main administrator password for the Mac you are using and highlight the Repair button. Then click Start. You will see a message that repairs have been completed
    Quit Keychain Access
    Power down the entire network...all devices...order is not important
    Power up the modem first, then your main router, the other devices one at a time
    Log on to Molly and see if the Mac remembers it after a few tries. If not, I'm afraid that you will need to change the name of the wireless network and password on your router due to corruption issues on the Mac. You have done everything possible without re-installing the complete operating system.

  • Connected to network, but no internet connection

    Just returned from a one week trip to CA with my macBook. Prior to the trip everything regarding a connection to the internet worked fine... I have an Airport Extreme network set up at home. For the first five days of my trip, everything worked fine as well. Connected to several different open networks (offered by hotels and Bed & Breakfasts (B&Bs). Then suddenly I could not get an internet connection with any browser (Safari, Firefox, Flock). At one particular B&B it worked flawlessly one evening, then the next morning at the same B&B, no internet. Yet I was connected OK to the open network. Moved on to another city, a different hotel and network, same problem. I was connected to the network, but no internet connection. In Safari, the blue bar would get as far as the http:, then it would hang there. Now having returned home to my Airport Extreme network, everything seems to be working fine again in all browsers. Any idea what I may have encountered for those two days? I have another trip planned in the near future, and would hate to have this happen again.

    I'm sorry but I'm not posting to answer your problem but just to say that I have a very similar issue when connected to my home network through either wireless or ethernet- connection is erratic and pages hang despite showing an excellent signal strength. I have a divided drive and have windows installed on my Macbook. I have no problems on the windows side. My friends who have ipods and iphones have similar problems connecting to my home network. I have no problems connecting wirelessly to any other network that I've tried. This is a real shame as I want to use Mac software but end up in Windows all the time. Any light anyone can shed on this would be very welcome.

    Help please - my Apple TV recognises my wifi network but will not connect to it, when I enter the password - it just says 'there was a problem connecting to the network - check your settings and try again (5).' What should I do next?

    people repport that apple products in general I believe have problems with support for the outdated encryption type called wep encryption which is also pretty useless and easy to break
    if you use that try disabling it or changing to wpa encryption
    if you use MAC address filtering in your router then you need to add the appletv's MAC address to the positive list

  • Can see network but won't connect

    I have three computers using an Airport Express base station. They've worked just fine until this morning, when I bumped up security by setting WPA/WPA2 Personal.
    Since then, the Power PC G4 (OS X 10.4.11) can see the base station's network, but will not connect to it.
    I've done multiple restarts, verified permissions, unplugged and replugged the base station and also the cable modem. Nothing has worked.
    Please help.

    Yes, if I set "Security" to "None," the G4 can connect. But I set it up after I found my next-door neighbor's shared files folder listed on my network this morning. He's an OK guy, but it made me aware of how vulnerable my network is.
    My firmware is version 9.52. I've prowled the Apple site looking for an indication of whether that's the latest, but couldn't find one. My "Software Update" says everything's up-to-date.

  • Airport Express/Mac work fine, Vista PC sees network, but will not connect

    I have been working on this for two days. What can I do? I have the latest firmware on the airport express and my utilities are up to date on both PC and Vista (airport s/w ver 5.3.2). It all worked before. Also, my brother wireless printer sees network, but will not connect.

    I have a similar issue. I have an AP Express set up for WPA2 Personal, G only. My Mac mini connects fine. My Dell mini9 with XP connects fine. My Dell desktop with Vista64 connects fine, but is local only, no internet.
    I have completely reset the AP to factory settings and reconfigured it using the Vista machine, but still no luck. What is going on? Anyone?

    Hello lucky3480;
    I don't know what else to do. I'm thinking of possibly returning the unit and purchasing a wireless internet card to install in the tower. Any help you can provide would be great. Even suggesting a good wireless card at this point
    Well it looks like you're not having any luck at all with this AX set up but please don't give on it just yet, it's a good choice for extending your Network. Your on the right path, just going backwards and in the wrong direction. You'll learn a lot about stuff this way but may lead to other issues.
    Before I continue, let me know if you have returned the AX or still need help. Here's a link to Apple's PDF about [Designing AirPort Networks|http://manuals.info.apple.com/enUS/Designing_AirPort_Networks10.5-Windows.pdf] Click on it to open in Safari but then save it to your desktop. Now open it from your desktop and start reading Chapter 3, page 42.
