Yoga 2 Pro rotation too sensitive & stand mode not working

In tablet mode the Yoga 2 Pro is too sensitive. It seems to rotate for the smallest thing. You have to hold it vertically in order to prevent it from rotating.
In stand mode, the image is always upside down. I cannot get it rotated, even after pressing the rotate lock button several times. It's fairly difficult to get the screen right.
I am a experienced Yoga 13 owner which works perfectly. I am worried about the sensitivity of the Yoga 2 Pro and the fact the image is always upside down in stand mode.
I am on a clean factory install, no modified drivers.

A reinstall didn't work.
So presumably the sensor board is faulty.
Where can I buy the sensor board? (page 64)

Or maybe the sensor board is installed upside down if this is possible. Maybe it's flipped vertically. Because the sides are working just fine!

  • Yoga 2 Pro Windows 10 device orientation sensors not working windows 10

I upgraded my Yoga 2 Pro to windows 10, and experienced some of the problems related to CPU throttling in tablet mode (running super slow) and they keyboard being disabled after suspend. After trying to upgrade drivers (none were newer that what was provided along with Windows 10) I reset Windows 10 (http://www.qoncious.com/questions/how-restore-windows-10-factory-settings) and it seems those two problems are gone, however I do have a new one
It seems like the sensors are not being detected correctly. The screen rotation orientation is not being detected, and the position of the screen is also not being detected when it's flipped back.
    Device manager shows:
    - HID Sensor Collection V2
    - Sdo Sensor V2 10.0.10240.16384
Related Computer Management Services appear to be up too:
    - Sensor Data Service (not running - running it doesn't seem to matter)
    - Sensor Monitoring Service (running)
    - Sensor Service (running)
Any suggestions on how to fix this would be appreciated. Until then, hope this helps others get a usable Laptop running W10 at the least!
Note - YMC is not anywhere to be found - and flipping the laptop still disables the keyboard but only at full rotation...I've read about this elsewhere on the net. Seems like we still need some drivers from Lenovo..

emobo, I have the same lenovo yoga 2 pro as you (or similar enough... 3200 x 1800 display,  core i7,  256GB ssd).  I have also experienced problems with the windows 10 upgrade in the area of transitioning from laptop, stand,  tent & tablet mode.  In particular,  tablet/tent/stand mode becomes extremely laggy and unresponsive,  as if taps and screen interactions are stacked in a queue,  then,  execute dafter 10 to 30 seconds...  (Its not related at all to screen rotation lock - that works fine). For the others reading this post... the features are described on the lenovo 2 product page and are (or were?) the highlight of owning this type of laptop.  i.e. when flipping the screen around past some point,  keyboard is disabled... http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/lenovo/yoga-laptop-series/yoga-laptop-2-pro/ I did the original upgrade via the in place win 8.1 to win 10 upgrade,  keeping all applications,  including the Lenovo software that was included when I bought it ~ 1 year ago.  The laptop did transition automatically to tablet mode,  but performance in tablet mode was unstable and pretty much unusable. I clean installed windows 10 by using the refresh my PC using the keep nothing (no apps,  no files) option.   I backed up to my NAS first... I don't keep may files on the PC anyways - most are on OneDrive. Since then I have been hesitant to put back on the Lenovo software,  and decided to just use the manual swipe in from the right to switch into table mode manually until Lenovo gets a solid windows 10 version of the transitioncontrol software released.   The problem with manual switching...  the keyboard is still active (maybe there is some setting for that somewhere...) if I feel adventurous again,  I may try installing the Lenovo software again.  Will post back what I find. Posting this even though I have no solution... more because I still think it is a software problem,  not something wrong with the actual hardware.

This is quite frustrating, since it randomly occured as I was browsing the web.  It seemed to happen out of nowhere.  I cannot login to my user account because I cannot type my password.
    Any help will be appreciated.

If you have another Mac, boot the non-working one into Target Disk Mode (holding down "T" at startup). Hook up the two Macs via a Firewire cable. The non-working one will mount on the other Mac as an external Firewire HD.
Next, download the 10.5.6 Combo update from here:
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/macosx_updates/macosx1056comboupdate .html
Run it. When it asks you for a destination, choose the other Mac that was mounted via Firewire. When it's done, unmount the computer and restart it. The keyboard and mouse should work now.

Could you please resolve this problem,

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Simply take it to an Apple Store or reseller if it's in warranty. Your Mac will be repaired or replaced for free because it looks a hardware problem rather than a software issue.
If it's not in warranty, hold Command and R keys while your MacBook is starting up, and reinstall OS X. If it doesn't work, you can't do much more to solve the problem

    Best,
    James.

you cannot use your pc license to install on a mac.  you would need a separate license (and serial number) for that.
adobe allows platform swaps, but only with the latest (xi) version, Order product | Platform, language swap
your option to use acrobat on a mac are to upgrade to acrobat pro xi and change platforms, use a windows emulator (parallels/boot camp etc) on your mac or swap with a third party.

  • The sensitivity/pressure is not working correctly

The sensitivity/pressure is not working correctly on my ipad 1 with ios4.3.
Keyboard and Drums(especially snare), does not work properly.
Please can this be fixed. Several friends have same issue. Alternatively, please have an option to turn off the 'pressure' feature.

Not sure what to do on the drums, but on the keyboard you can "pinch" the two velocity slider bars together, which fixes the velocity to only one setting. This "pinched pair" can be slid up/down to adjust the single velocity.

  • After upgrading to windows 10 Auto-rotate and touchpad gestures does not work

Yes. I found the answer here:http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Display-and-Video/HP-Envy-x2-13-j020CA-Windows-10-Auto-Rotate-Autorotate-now/m-p/5212887#M115445I've tried replacing the driver on Sdo Sensor V2 device with the Simple Device Orientation Sensor and rotation works just like it did on 8.1.For the record - Sdo Sensor v2 reports the device orientation continiously, and Simple Device Orientation Sensor reports it only when the orientation changes. Must be a Windows bug then.

  • Blue screen on start up. Safe mode not working?

Blue screen on start up. Safe mode not working, any suggestions?

Thank you, I had forgotten about target mode. I was able to back up all of my files. I also copied some additional 50 GB of files of the disk as a stress test and the hard drive worked fine and quick (and because it was quicker than retrieving the same files from a network drive to my desktop).
I was hoping to also unpack the Applejack files on my desktop and put them back so I could run them in single user mode without running /etc/rc. However I haven't been able to get my Linux desktop to mount the iBook in Read-Write instead of Read-Only yet (I don't have access to another Mac at the moment).

  • Yoga 2 Pro: Enable keyboard in tablet mode

Hi everyone. I'm very new here. I just got my Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro i7 8GB last month. And I'm wondering if it's possible for the keyboard to be enabled while in tablet mode. Since I wanna make it as my external keyboard and I'm gonna use an external monitor for bigger screen through MicroHDMI-HDMI connection. Please let me know how to do it. I hope someone can help me here. Thank you

Thank You Indest! I can't help you as I am a linux user.
I've installed Gnome Ubuntu 14.04 on my Y2P and I'm facing the same issue as windows users.
Keyboard is disabled in tablet mode for me too. That's why I've been thinking that is because of an hardware configuration rather than software.
Anyway, if there is any window user willing to help, that would be great.
Much better if Lenovo FINALLY ANSWERS this question!!! Boy, that's not a customer oriented approach. Rewrite your corporate brochures and take out that you care about customers. Lol

    Hello,

The play pause button, full screen and the seek feature of youtube cannot be used in tablet mode or any mode where the keyboard is disabled. The only way to watch youtube it seems is to switch back to laptop mode.

  • Yoga 2 Pro - Frequent issues after Tablet Mode and Suspend in Windows 8.1

    Hi,
I bought a Yoga 2 Pro running windows 8.1 in December 2013. The machine runs fine, but from the beginning I experience frequent system issues whenever I have the Yoga in Tablet mode (display turned to the back).
The issues sometimes arise directly after I resume from tablet mode. More frequent the issues appear once I had the machine in tablet mode and after had it in suspend mode!
Some of the frequent issues that arise after I resume from tablet mode:
Power surge at right USB Port, where I have my mouse connected! The connected device cannot be provided with enough power. (Note, the left port still works), or
WiFi not working any more (No WLAN device detected, WLAN not functional), or
Bluetooth not working (No Bluetooth device detected, BT not functional)
All issues reliably disappear with a system restart!
I have already updated my drivers, scanned the Lenovo and Microsoft forum whether this is known without success and hope this avenue will bring me more luck.
What makes the bug hard to narrow down is that I do not have a recipe to reproduce the error. Not every time I turn the display in tablet mode the symptoms are equal! But what I can is that the tablet mode is the most common denominator I found so far.
    Any helped/suggestions much appreciated.
    Regards
       Florian

Yea, great... it seems like these articles and suggestions come up in the forum, and then there is always someone that says "it didn't work but this solved it for me" which ammounts to setting the screen at full brightness all the time.   LENOVO, HOW ABOUT FIXING THE ISSUE!!!  It definitly has something to do with power, in my case _the only_ thing that fixes it is either plugging in a power cord or closing the screen, reopening it and hitthing the power button to turn it back on (both are REALLY annoying if you're trying to get work done).
I'm a fairly experienced IT guy, and I used to swear by _IBM_ Thinkpads and related laptops, then when they went to Lenovo a few years ago it seems like the support has gone to hell and the hardware appears nice but is sketchy (this thing should have never shipped with this display problem or the wifi card issues that it shipped with).   Honestly if issues like this don't get resolved Im not likely to order any more, ever.  Not for my self or for my organization, we will stop persueing contracts with you and certifying the hardware for our work (though with the lenovo purchase it was deemed that the hardware wasn't certifyable for certine applications anyway).  Yes, that will cost you a few thousand sales a year, which is  a drop in the bucket for you, but I'm sure I won't be the only one.

  • Yoga 2 Pro poor performance in all modes

I have noticed that when I use my Yoga in laptop mode it functions very well, however in any other mode it acts differently, the videos won't stream without lagging, there is a delayed screen response after a touch, pages take a while to load up fully. Should I need an update or is this something inherent within my model?
It means that I have not been able to use the Yoga as I would have liked on a few occasions. I would appreciate any feedback, before I decide to call customer services / send the model off for a look over.
    Thanks

Sounds like it could be DPTF throttling the CPU?  Can you deactivate DPTF and see if that helps?

  • Stand-by / sleep mode not working when USB is connected

    Hello!
When the USB cable from my 24" LED Cinema Display is connected to my new Mac Pro 2,66 GHz Quad-Core, the stand-by / sleep mode does not work correctly: the Mac Pro goes to sleep normally, then the LED behind the on-/off-button flashes one time and then the Mac Pro awakes from sleep mode without any user interaction.
I already tried to reset PRAM, I tested all three rear-side USB connectors (I did not test the front-side USB connectors because the display's cable is way too short), I unplugged all other USB and Firewire devices and also tried sleep mode from a freshly created account. Alas, nothing helps.
As soon as the display's USB connector is plugged in, sleep mode does not work any more. It even doesn't matter if there are USB devices plugged into the display. Without connecting the display's USB plug, sleep mode works fine.
    So, any ideas out there?
Thanks in advance & best regards!
    Mario.

I fixed the problem, so I just post this to help others that might run into the same trouble.
The Mac Pro and the display were connected to a master/slave power socket. The problem is: when the Mac Pro goes to sleep, there still seems to be some power left in the display (which socket is switched off by the master/slave power socket). Therefore, the display goes off slightly after the Mac Pro. This powering off seems to release a signal on the display's USB wire that is connected to the Mac Pro and therefore switches the Mac Pro on again.
So, this is the same effect as removing a USB device from the Mac during sleep mode, what (at least in most cases) also starts up the Mac again.
As a result, there seems to be no other solution to this problem than removing the display from the master/slave power socket. Sadly enough, the LED Cinema Display consumes other 2 watts in stand-by mode...
    Cheers!
    Mario.
