Yosemite and Adobe CS Master 5?

Hi everyone. I left a job with a severe spine injury 3 years ago. I had just bought a Mac Pro and Adobe Master CS 5. I've had Quark on my system also, so I've never upgraded my OS past 10.6.8. Since I can't afford new software right now, and Ill be on disability at least til after my next scheduled surgery, can I upgrade to Yosemite and use CS Master 5 with it? I might be able to get Quark back since I purchased all of the software for work and used my name for everything (I was the only Mac user in North America).

Compelling? No. I just feel like I'm falling behind with my injury and lack of production. That's it.
I have a couple of clones. One on my partitioned 2nd internal and one on my USB External TB drive. I was going to do it the reverse way and boot up off the cloned internal if or when I needed 10.6.8 (Quark) and in case I f'd the whole system up with Yosemite. I probably shouldn't be making any major moves due to the pain remedies they've given me to get me to the next surgery (which is why I'm boring apple users with personal BS).
Anyway, I'll load Yosemite on my external. I'll partition it into 2 drives so I can keep 10.6.8 on there as well.
Does that sound like a better alternative? Like I said, I shouldn't be overhauling everything without 100% of my faculties (or whatever I normally have left).
Would you do anything different. Have you installed Yos yet? Is it stable if yes. My girlfriend has an Airbook with 10.7.5 and I was going to install Yos on it since I've just loaded GIMP and other free web/imaging software for her photography. Would you do the Airbook or just same advice and use her external clone drive?

System running ridiculously slow after installing Yosemite and Adobe CC

SInce installing Yosemite and upgrading to Adobe CC for all my design apps, my computer runs soooooo slow. Since then, I've run all the disk utility stuff and upgraded from 8gb to 12gb of RAM. Thanks so much for the detailed instructions...but they didn't seem to work.
At this point I've erased the drive and reinstalled Yosemite. I haven't brought any files or applications back in yet, but things are still moving really slow. Here's my latest EntreCheck report. Any insight would be very helpful.

I stopped being able to open Adobe CC and Adobe CS6 Master Collection after installing Adobe CC

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe CS6 Master Collection and Adobe CC multiple times only to have them a few days later fail to open any programs. Adobe CC also starts prompting for Adobe ID, but will not accept the ID and loops back. Has anyone seen this before? Win 7 Enterprise 64 bit.

I use the same software as you, and have the same thoughts and issues, and have been searching the internet and Adobe forums for similar answers and questions. Many people are having issues and most are saying if you are running older versions of CS, (I don't think CS5 is that old!) then a Java update is needed and easily downloaded from the Apple website. Personally I will wait another 2 weeks or so before deciding, but I may just keep my Mavericks, the last time I upgraded it caused me countless hours of downloading and reinstalling software again, one of Apples pieces of software I enjoyed using was iDVD which is no longer supported and just about got it too work again on Mavericks, but not sure if it will work on Yosemite.

Which Colour Laser Printer/Scanner for Yosemite and Adobe Acrobat XI?

Since upgrading my mac to 10.10 my Epson DX4400 will not scan any more, even with the latest Epson driver update.
I need a better printer anyway, so I would like to replace it with a colour laser printer & scanner. But I want to make sure I get one that will work with OSX 10.10.2 and Adobe Acrobat XI
Does anyone have any recommendations?

I have yet to upgrade to Yosemite because I'm not too sure if there will be any problems running Adobe CS6 programs.
Would like to ask if anyone knows if it is safe to do so or if there are any issues with these 2 running together.

Best place to look would be the adobe site for photoshop and their forum.
I have CS3 Photoshop and on Snow Leopard and I believe I saw some posts that say it will run on Yosemite.
You will also see that Adobe has changed from charging up front big bucks for upgrade - to a monthly license fee for modules you want - with upgrades included - in order to level out sales rather than having big lumps of profit when some users upgrade because of OS.

Do Yosemite and Adobe CS5.0 play well together?

I'm a visual designer - both graphic and web. Adobe CS is how I do my work.
I had a disastrous time when I upgraded my (then) new desktop to Mavericks awhile back (it had just come out, right around the time I got my newest machine), was told by some Apple tech that "you can get a free upgrade of Keynote when you upgrade to Mavericks!!!" Was a knee jerk move on my part, caused almost every one of my apps to break since Mavericks was programmed to only work with the latest/bleeding edge versions of everything, apparently. Took me weeks and weeks to right my apps situation with the new OSX, not only my Adobe CS apps, but Powerpoint, my Epson printer drivers, zipping software, etc. etc. the list went on and on. Every time I thought I was good to go, something else broke. Ugh.
Now I've got a client working in the latest version of Keynote, and the latest OSX (Yosemite). I've been holding off on downloading Yosemite since the last debacle, although would be nice (I think - I've also noticed Apple's been denigrating Keynote lately ... tsk tsk) to have the free upgrade to the newest version of Keynote, as well.
My question is this - since I have INSTALLED (not cloud-based. Refuse to go to subscription based ... I want to OWN the copies of my apps) versions of Adobe CS 5.0-55 on my machine (only my INDD is 6.0), will Yosemite play nicely with those apps? And what about Office 2011 for Mac? (I only use PPT from this suite) Anyone have any experience with this, and can you confirm that you did NOT have a problem with these app versions when upgrading to Yosemite? I do not want to go through that mess again!

Sounds like the same thing going on with the new OSX as with Mavericks. Cannot afford to wade through hours of troubleshooting and catch up once again! (sigh)

Hi I was wonder can I still purchase Adobe CS6 Master Collection Student and Teacher Edition? As I am a student and I don't have the money to purchase the the full software for 2 grand. Also I don't want to get the creative cloud as I don't want to be paying say 250 dollars a year for the software.

Uninstall eachg and every bit Adobe (including older versions and minor tools), run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool and install again. It's actually "Inconsistency", BTW...

How long i am allowed to use Adobe CS6 Master collection ( Students and Teachers edition ) ?

I planned to buy Adobe CS6 Master collection ( Students and Teachers Version ) but i have a some confusions.
1) If i bought the software with an adobe reseller ( a boxed product of adobe master collection CS6 - students and teachers edition ) and obtained a serial number with it, will i be able to use the software for more than one year or three years once it is activated ?

There is no serial number in retail boxes of S&T, just a verification code and that needs to be properly registered to obtain a serial number - now. After that you can reinstall and reactivate the stuff until the day the Adobe servers fall apart or run out of electricity or Adobe changes their policies.
