Yosemite and CS5.5 ??

Just got the Yosemite update. None of my Adobe programs worked so i updated them all. The CS6 are all now working, But my Indesign is CS5.5 and it still wont open. HALP???

Back up your computer.
Do a clean install of Yosemite. Don't try to copy or migrate InDesign CS 5.5; it won't work.
Install CS5.5 from the original install file, or download and install it from here:

  • Yosemite and cs5

Since I installet Yosemite, Photoshop CS5.1 doesn't open anymore - but the old CS3 still works! Any idea?

Well, since I'm a user like yourself, I don't have the authority to fix this problem. So first look at this help document and contact Adobe about this problem. I once mistook one number for another copied down the 16 digit serial incorrectly, so double check to be sure you got it right. There is contact information if you can't find out what's wrong.

  • OS X Yosemite and CS5

I noticed that Apple's Yosemite OS X has been released as of 10-16-2014 and am wondering how it affects the CS5 ( Creative Suite 5 ) applications. Has anyone have any issues with it or will it run smoothly?
    Thanks!

    Hi Adam,
Yes, all downloaded. Mainly use Id, Ai and Ps and all open and seem to be working. Haven't used extensively but can't seem to see any problems as of yet. Downloaded the free month of CC just incase but don't think I'll need it. Obviously it could be different for you, but on mine it's working fine at the moment.

Install the version of Java they want from here: Java for OS X 2014-001
    See if CS 5.1 launches.
If not reinstall CS5.1 and any updates.

  • Compatibility between Yosemite and Photoshop / Bridge CS5.

I am concerned about the possibility of incompatibility between Yosemite and Photoshop / Bridge CS5 so have delayed updating my Mac. Has anyone updated, experienced problems and found solutions? What does  Adobe have to say in this regard?

I'm not sure I know enough to answer the question.
The images are on my G5 on a second internal hard drive (not the boot drive).
They are in a folder with a lot of images from the same shoot.
That folder shows up in the Library in Aperture, also. I think I imported them. But, as best I can tell, they do not "only exist in Aperture" because I can see them, and their .xmp files in the original file on the second internal hard drive.
Thank you so much for trying to help.

  • Yosemite and Photoshop (CS5.1) Problem

I recently updated to Yosemite and now Photoshop (CS5.1) won't open and I get an error message:  An unexpected and unrecoverable problem has occurred. Photoshop will now exit. Has anyone else had this problem or know of a solution?

My answer may be somewhat late, but I had the same issues (Installed Yosemite but PS and Dreamweaver wouldn't operate without Java update).  I went to the attached site >> and it solved the issue.  Didn't have to reinstall CS5.  Hope this works for you.

    Any suggestions?

You should check with Adobe, but it's likely they'll say that Photoshop CS5 isn't supported on Yosemite and they'll recommend you update to a new CC version, which of course requires a subscription.
It could be that Photoshop requires a Java installation (and probably an old one), that isn't running on Yosemite by default. Java 6 is not "new," it's in fact very old. I do think you can download Java 6 from Apple - check apple.com/support/downloads.

  • I upgraded iMac to Yosemite, and my Adobe CS5 products  (Photoshop, dreamweaver, etc) would not open. Multiple issues

I upgraded iMac to Yosemite, and my Adobe CS5 products (Photoshop, dreamweaver, etc) would not open. A message popped up saying I needed to load Java SE 6.  The Apple Tech support person had me select all the Java folders and files in my library and delete the. I then downloaded Java 7. However, nothing happens when I click on the program icon. I went to reinstall the products, but the activation code was not valid (even though I got it off the Adobe site for my products with Adobe). I tried to install just one product (Illustrator) in the trial mode, but still nothing happens. How can I get my Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver and other programs to work?

some (like illustrator cs5 appear to be incompatible with yosemite, at least, according to some users - http://roaringapps.com/apps:table).
for the rest, check at the above link.
if others have had success, your best option would be to uninstall, clean and then reinstall per Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6

Is your Photoshop CS5 updated to 12.1?
Are you on Yosemite 10.10.1 or Yosemite 10.10.2?
Did you apply the recent Epson software 2.1.9 update?
What type of file is it (file format)?  What bit depth and what color space?

  • CS 5 Photoshop stopped working Yosemite and Java SE 6.

My Photoshop CS 5 has stopped working on my Mac loaded with Yosemite and Java SE 6.  I get a Fatal Error. and must exit.  All other products from the Production Premium suite work.  How do I get the Photoshop component to work again.

Did you reinstall Photoshop CS5 after upgrading to MacOS 10.10?
You need to reinstall to replace Photoshop files damaged by the MacOS installer.
Then make sure you have all the Photoshop updates installed.
