Good day to y'all. Is Yosemite compatible with MS Office 2008 for Mac? Thanks for your help.

Yes.

  • Yosemite compatability with FCP 7

Will Final Cut Pro 7 work with Yosemite? How about Premiere CS5.5? I have upgraded operating systems in the past and then lost the ability to use the software that I own... sometimes it is completely unsupported by the new operating system and I have lost project files...

No he won't need to upgrade to FCX.
Although FCP 7 isn't FULLY compatible with Yosemite. It's the second OS to be released that's doesn't fully support FCP 7...meaning that it doesn't take it into consideration.  No testing was done, no consideration taken to make sure it works. FCP 7, to Apple, is dead.  Does it work? Yes...people have said it works. FULLY...does it do all it can do at full capacity? No. People have reported minor issues across the spectrum.  So I wouldn't plan on full compatibility.

  • Photoshop cs6, yosemite compatibility

is mac os x yosemite compatible with photoshop CS6? i want to buy a new PowerBook and move over my existing PS CS6...

It's a bit early to tell, but Adobe will update CS6 to maintain compatibility.
Whenever new OS versions come along, most will hold back the upgrade until things are settled.
Another note. Best advice is to never transfer Photoshop to a new Mac, do a fresh install.

Could you please tell me how/where I can be updated about Yosemite/Final cut pro compatibility
when it will be released ?
    Best regards

Could you please tell me how/where I can be updated about Yosemite/Final cut pro compatibility
when it will be released ?
You may wish to be more specific here regarding your question. Yosemite was, of course, officially released on 16 Oct '14, As to FCP, v6.0.6 still functions (but my Motion v3.0.2 is no longer supported).

  • Yosemite compatibility with Mustek A3 Scanner

I was using the Image Acquire to import scans from my Mustek A3 1200 Pro usb series scanner when I was using Mountain Lion 10.8.
I recently decided I wanted to finally upgrade my OS to Yosemite 10.10. Now Image Acquire crashes when I try select my scanner.
Does anyone have any tips on how I can get scanning again? Mustek customer support says they'll release a Yosemite driver in about a month but I don't believe it. Mustek is bad about releasing drivers for Mac-- on their site they don't even have any for my scanner-- never did. All drivers I've ever found have been through other parties. So suggesting contacting the scanner company is off the table for me.
Is there another image acquire app or universal driver or some trick/ hack to get this scanner to work on this OS?

Vuex claims to have an all comers (types of scanners & computers) scanner printer, but surprise, NOT for the AE 2400S scanner, and they say they have no plans to do so. Hrumph.

  • Yosemite compatibility with microsoft word 2008

I had held off on upgrading to Mavericks because of the issues surrounding the compatibility with Microsoft Word 2008. I am a student and need to use Word to do my work as well as having all of my current documents, including my thesis, in 2008 format. I don't want to risk losing the information or the ability to do my work and I was wondering if there is any information about whether the issue of compatibility with this version had been fixed. I don't have the means to buy a new version of Microsoft but would very much like to be able to update my system since I am still using Mountain Lion.

There has been a better and free alternative to old versions of MS Word and MS Office since forever. Apache OpenOffice 4.1.1 is the latest version of a free and complete All-In-One document processor, spreadsheet, drawing, presentation, database, & formula software, found here: http://www.openoffice.org
It also reads, writes and translates MS Word, saves in many formats, and is pretty easy to use. It's entirely modern and compatible with all the latest Mac operating systems. Good luck.

  • Download legacy Java for PS CS3 Yosemite compatibility

When I try to load Photoshop CS3 Extended after installing latest version of Yosemite, I get an error message telling me to install a legacy version of Java to enable Photoshop. Clicking on the "more information" button brings me neither a link to download or further information. So,
√ How can I download the appropriate legacy Java so I can continue to use Photoshop which apparently is no longer upgradable?
√ If I do install the older version of Java, will that negatively impact my use of other applications? Will that uninstall my updated version of Java which I need for other App?
Will be grateful for any suggestions. Thanks in advance

This is the Java version CS3 is looking for: Apple's version.

  • Yosemite compatibility with photoshop element 11 ?

Do you know if upgrading from marevick to yosemite is possible with photoshop element 11 ?

It is - but many of the tools don't function properly when using a trackpad.  The click and drag action doesn't work for the brush, spot healing, etc.  It does work with a mouse.

  • Officejet 6600 & Yosemite compatibility

Are Officejet 6600 printer and Yosemite fully compatible? When I upgraded my MBP to Mavericks, I lost some functionality with my old 5600.  I'm thinking of buying a new MBP and not sure if I want Mavericks or Yosemite. Now I have the 6600 and I don't want to lose functionality again.
    This question was solved.

    Hi,
The printer is fully compatible with Yosemite.
Add the printer to your Mac within Printers & Scanners, the latest drivers will be installed from Apple servers.
Next install the HP Easy Scan and you will be provided with full functionality such as OCR, Front Panel scanning, etc.
The HP Easy Scan app can be installed from the following link:

  • Login on two computers & yosemite compatibility

hi, can i check that, from what i just checked,
a purchased creative cloud plan can be used on two different computers at the same time
does it mean both computers also have to login to the same adobe account in order to use it?
or it could like microsoft 365, send an invitation to anther person who shares the plan together?
because another person might have his own adobe account already and tie with behance
i checked that currently the yosemite beta is somehow compatible with the current CC versions except the java version?
may i know in fact which one should i download?
    thanks

It sounds like the permissions and ownership for users other than administrator is set to read only. It could simply be the folder that arial is in a higher directory or perhaps the font itself you can go to the top directory and mark it as read write for each account and have that apply to all directories below.
Directory is a folder or a volume.
On a Mac this is fairly easy if you have administrative privileges.
On the Windows side you will have to get that info from one of the Windows person but it is more manual and a bit more difficult.

  • OSX Yosemite compatibility with CC?

Any pioneers out there who have upgraded their Macs to Yosemite today at launch? And, if so, does Creative Cloud work for them? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

One lesson I've learned in my life when it comes to getting that new and exciting operating system that just comes out is this. First of all, if it ain't broke don't fix it. I have the latest iMac with all the bells and whistles. I'm a big creative cloud user for many years. If you want to take a chance and upgrade to some operating system that's been out for 2 days, you might want to rethink that idea. Do you like to open Photoshop, Indesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro, etc... I love my computer and have thousands of hours of hard work in projects and blood and sweat. How would you like to click on one of your applications like PS, ID, AE and more and find out they don't open, or you can't save photoshop files like you used to, or some quirky problem working with some fonts, or you can't do simple stuff like print from Indesign. There's no going back to the old operating system that worked fine for you in the past once you update to the new one, no matter what anyone tells you. Is it worth spending 10, 20 40, 60 hours in front of your computer trying to undo what you knew was a bad idea in the first place. If your computer is working fine, leave it alone. I upgraded to maverick on my old mac years ago and my adobe programs were never the same. Maybe my machine was too old, I don't know. That's the main reason I bought a new machine. And I promised myself and Jesus that I would never upgrade to the new OS system until it was out for a long time and tested by someone else. An even then I wouldn't. Just remember, the littlest thing can throw you life in turmoil. They say experience is the ability to recognize a mistake the second time you make it. One I won't be making anytime soon.

  • I just downloaded Yosemite operating system and my computer is extremely slow but also not opening my Adobe applications.  Can anyone help?  thanks!

I just downloaded Yosemite operating system and my computer is extremely slow but also not opening my Adobe applications.  Can anyone help?  thanks!

First, tell Apple about your problems... with details... and hope for an update that fixes your slowness
Second, Yosemite sometimes has problems, often related to "default" permissions needing to be changed

  • Tons of errors with 2014.1 running on OS X Yosemite

Finding that Edge Animate CC 2014.1 is freezing within 5-10 minutes of use.  Telling me to save work and restart every 5-10 minutes as well (I do anyway!)
-creates corrupt JS files that my server won't let me upload.
-crashes MacBook Pro 2013 with Yosemite
-when loading symbols it says JavaScript is corrupt
Any sight of an update soon to address Yosemite compatibility?

Are you kidding? I have had more help learning and solving problems on my Edge projects from your forum contributions and samples (those sample projects are like gold for us learners!)  than just about any other contributor. Keep it up.
I'm just really frustrated with Adobe. I almost get the feeling that Adobe is just on the verge of giving up on Edge. Like they know that it's not going to work for them in the long run and so they're holding back resources on development. Otherwise they'd have fixed it long ago. There are NO other Adobe products that are so unfunctional. It's absolutely unlike Adobe and that's what makes me wonder if it's worth continuing to invest the time to develop my use of it. (And I have been using it and publishing Edge projects for almost a year now. Went out on a limb to talk my publisher into taking a chance on adding some development time into putting it into our web publishing stream.)
