Yosemite Contacts Format - Caller ID

Probably everybody leaving outside the US registers their phone numbers of contacts with a + before the number. For instance, living in South America, I register my Peruvian contacts with a +51 before the number and with a +1 my US contacts. That allows direct dialing. With the new iPhone calling through Yosemite, when somebody calls, the caller ID only reflects numbers and not the contact name. If I eliminate the "+51", it works fine. Did somebody found a way to have a proper caller ID without modifying the numbers in Contacts?

I do the same — add "+" before phone numbers. My iPhone (iOS 8.3) as well as the phone notification on my MBP (OS 10.10.3) show the caller's name. Just a suggestion, and I have no idea if this will work, check the Language & Region settings on both your MBP and your iPhone. My iPhone is set to Uganda, where I live, and my MBP is set to UK (so that dates show in the international format in Calendar — it's the only way I could get that to work). Just to see, I set my iPhone to US and the caller ID on both devices still shows the name, not the number.
I have a real beef with Apple over how their formats work — or, rather, don't work. Some of Apple's own apps don't respect/use system settings and it makes for a very inconsistent user experience. For example, I had my MBP Language & Region settings on US (Custom), having customized the date settings so that dates showed us in Day-Month-Year order. Numbers wouldn't even show international formats and totally messed up dates. Apple's own Calendar app used those settings in some places but not in others (primarily not in cmd-shift-T to go to a particular date and in editing or entering an event). However, when I changed those setting to UK and customized currency and measurements to use US formats, everything seems to work. I think the issue with Calendar started with Mavericks; the issue with Numbers started with Yosemite. I suspect this is your problem with the caller ID issue.

OS X Yosemite: Contacts quit unexpectedly

Hello,
After upgrading to OS X Yosemite, Contacts won't even open. It says;
"Contacts quit unexpectedly."
Other apps seem to be working fine.
Then I ran Apple Hardware Test, and it says;
"Alert! Apple Hardware Test has detected an error."
"4MEM/9/40000000: 0x82c45618"
I also started up in safe mode, and now I try to open Contacts, it says;
"Contacts quit unexpectedly while using the AddressBook plug-in."
What does this mean? How can I fix this?

there is a problem with iCloud. when I select contacts is says contacts quit unexpectedly.

Hide or Disable - Contact -- Status -- Calls?

In the directory listing when you right click on a user and go to Contact --> Status --> Calls, you can see who a user is on the phone with. How do I disable this or at least hide it from my operators?
We are runnig CUEAC client 8.6.2.611.

You can use Directory Rules (page 58) to limit the results from AD in such a way that whatever you want to exclude doesn't meet the rule requirements.
...is there a way to add that extension as a 3rd party number in the CUEAC that's not part of the directory and thus wouldn't have that information present?
Only through the Speed Dials pane or External Directory (e.g. Home, Mobile, other numbers for a contact), not the Internal Directory.

No clue why you cannot make video calls over your cellular operator... have you tried contacting them?
If you're referring to FaceTime, it is currently limited to Wi-Fi only.
Sending files via Bluetooth is not a supported feature of the iPhone or iOS. A simple search of the web or these forums would have made that abundantly clear.
Threatening to throw away valuable items in these forums only serves to make you look less than intelligent. No one here is an Apple employee, we are all users like yourself. As such, we could care less what you do. If you choose to be stupid, that's up to you.

No phone provides true call blocking. At best, they provide call diversion. Essentially, the call is answered and disconnected automatically. If I recall, Apple is adding call diversion features in iOS 7.

Is there any way of grouping calls logs from same person/number/contact in call record on iPhone5?

I've just moved from BBry to iPhone5, and must admit that I am pretty dissapointed with the device.
I cannot find the way to group call logs from the same person/nmber/contact in call records, so I ended up with having multiple records (sometimes 7-10) for calls to and from the same number. Any solution for this?
Also, I cannot find the way to insert multiple attachements to my e-mails. How to do it?
Another issue I have is that I am not able to use most of the apps via WiFi, won't load pages, refresh, etc. When switched to cellular network, works fine. How to solve it?
All in all, device that costs $800 should have at least those basic functions, rahter than just being pure teenagers' show off phone! Business phone - no way!

If you are using 11.5 just keep in mind that the JCO connection points to a single application server (based upon the SAP Server alias connection settings), but the traffic itself to make a BAPI request is effectively the same as any client user traffic. There will obviously be limitations on performance and throughput, with network and server constraints added to the number and size of the R/3 requests, but there is no magic formula to plug-in because of all of these variables.
If you are using 12.0 (or plan to migrate when it goes GA) then taking advantage of the JRA (java resource adapter) and the associated application server pooling that it offers on the NetWeaver side of things will greatly help you in the throughput capacity.
If you have put some of your xMII application into either test or productive use and are running into issues then I would highly recommend entering the specifics into the customer / partner support portal so that they can help you through any associated problems.

You used the data. Verizon can not see what it was sued for. However your phone can see whats apps used the data. go to settings-data usage- there will be a place that says data usage cycle. line the dates up with your cycle. then there will be a bar graph below that extend bother white bars one all the way to the left and one all the way to the right. after those are extended below that will be a list of apps, there should be one that used over 2 gb and that will show you what app used that data in her purse

Call to Friends Mobile (who are added in my contacts list) = Call Failed
i've tried everything , downloaded latest skype 7.0+ version (my skype credit is $10), renamed %appdata% location skype to skype_old, re-login, i've tried almost everything, i don't know why "Call Failed" the worst part is no message as to why it fails, weird !

Contact resolving call/sms

Hi all,
Usually I store my contacts internationally like +61xxxx, or +41xxxx and now I have the following problem on my phone when i receive a international call (+41xxxx) the number match with the contact and everything is fine. But if I receive a local call the number arrives without +41xxxx and the phone don't match with the contact who is stored in international format.
Okay now we can say store the local numbers in a local format, without international dial code. If I do this and receive a sms it comes internationally (+41xxxx) and didn't match with the contact.
Any ideas?

The main reasons for caller ID not working are:
1. Duplicate entries in contacts - by FAR the most common cause and unfortunately, the most awkward one to fix.
If the phone finds the same number against more than one name, it doesn't know which to use so, perfectly sensibly, it defaults to showing the number.
The only way to fix this is to remove duplicates from your contacts. Best way to do this would probably be in Outlook on the PC, but assuming you can't do that, then you have to find the numbers that aren't working a use the LATEST version of the Nokia Search tool to find the duplicate entries:
NOTE: when you search, use PART of the number to avoid problems with formatting: searching for +441234567890 will NOT find +44 123 456 7890 whereas searching for 789 would.
2. Using your international dial code instead of '+'
Not sure if this applies to all phones, but if you store your number using your county's international dial code (eg: 004412345678990 - WRONG) instead of the '+' sign (+4412345678990 - RIGHT), it can cause problems.
3. "(0)" area code prefixes
Only a problem if you synch with MS Outlook. When you specify a country in MS Outlook, it will insert "(0)" into your phone number after the country code - while somewhere in Redmond, Bill Gates cackles - so +4412345678990 becomes +44 (0) 12345678990.
You need to remove the (0).
4. 9 and 10 digit numbers
There has been one report of problems with 9 and 10 digit numbers where one size doesn't work with SMS and the other with calls. Not sure that anyone else has ever come across this.

Yosemite Contact Notes Missing From iPhone iOS8

After the nightmare of Mail crashes, and still not being able to get Calendar to work with Exchange calendars that work fine with Mavericks, iOS7 and iOS8 devices, I discovered yet another bug and new thing to worry about. Not sure if Yosemite or iOS 8.1 are the issue here.
I have someone's bank routing and account info saved in the Notes of their contact card on my MacBook Pro. Before my iOS8 upgrade the info was in the Notes of their contact on the iPhone as well.
I had to get to the bank on Friday to make an urgent payment and got there only to find that the Notes section of the contact card is blank on the iPhone. It was a wasted trip and caused lots of problems for people as I could not send them money in time. Coming back home I found the info is still in the laptop's contacts. I made changes to it just to force an update. But it is still not showing up despite rebooting the iPhone. I do see the info in iCloud so it appears as if the problem is iOS 8.1 Contacts.
Perhaps we are expected to go through thousands of contacts and check if each one's notes were synced.
One, looking for a solution. Two, wondering if others see the same problem.

Notes are no longer synced through iTunes. I had the same problem and found this out by chatting with Apple Support. Notes are synced only through iCloud and IMAP (ex. gmail). I don't want my notes in the web, and I could not find any free app that syncs without the cloud. So although very clunky, I put my notes in Contacts. Yes, it's clunky. First name is the note's title and the last name is Notes. Horrible. At least I can sync through iTunes without external servers.
The following post helped me find my notes in my computer.

I was in the same boat, losing my mind because none of the suggestions were working or helpful until I stumbled onto this one. It refers to problems encountered while upgrading to Mountain Lion but the solution worked for recovering my notes..

IPhone 4S Siri Will No Longer Voice Dial Contacts - Always Call Failed

I am not exactly sure when this started (5.0.1?), but when I ask Siri to dial someone in my contacts, Siri recognizes the request, proceeds to Dial the number and no matter which contact I try, I get an immediate "CALL FAILED" and then the iPhone immediately locks. I have restored the iPhone as new, Reset Network Settings, etc. to no avail. If I turn Siri off from Settings, the phone will revert to the previous Voice Control that was present in previous iPhones and Voice Calls are successful. Only when trying to use Siri do all voice initiated calls fail. And it is 100% consistent in the failure. This does not appear to be a Siri network issue, as all Siri other Siri requests work and are speedy. Co-workers with the 4S are also experiencing the same issue, so it does not appear to be specific to just my iPhone. Can anyone else confirm? Thanks.

OK, so i have tracked it down to a single AT&T Cell Tower location in my instance, but it also just so happens to be at my office, which means I am affected by it all day. What is happening is that at this particular location, the AT&T tower is misconfigured or experiencing some type of technical issue, resulting in the inability of the cell tower to handle simultaneous voice and data. Siri uses data to match the contacts, names etc and hands off to the Phone dialer, which immediately experiences a call failure as a result of the 3G Data still being in use by Siri. You can verify simultaneous voice and data connectivity by placing a voice call and then attempting to use 3G data (you must not be using WiFi to determine if this is a problem with the Cell network). While in a voice call, launch the Speedtest.net Mobile Speed Test app. You will clearly see that 3G data services have all but ceased if this is your problem. End the Voice Call and run the Speedtest.net Mobile Speed Test again and 3G data will work fine.
I have reported the problem via AT&T's Mark the Spot App numerous times and had my colleagues do the same and called AT&T Wireless customer service to no avail. They simply refuse to acknowledge the issue is on their end. I personally know at least 5 other iPhone 4S users in my office who are experiencing the same issue and the results can be consistently recreated on all of their devices. And again, once they leave the office in the afternoon, all of their services return to normal and they can again make and place Voice initiated phone calls without the dreaded Call Failed.
