Yosemite GM Candidate Installed - Guest account keeps being re-enable after reboot

Have the Yosemite GM Candidate Installed (been using 10.10 beta since about end of July). I've never had this issue prior to the GM Candidate.
I never enable the Guest account on the system (force login for a user, etc.). I disable the Guest account, reboot, and the Guest account is re-enabled and can be logged into. Disable it again, reboot - it's back.
Potential fix anyone is aware of?

How do i force a guest account to Auto log off after being inactive for a period of time?

I have a 2010 21" iMac running OS X Snow Leopard (10.6.8) in a hotel's guest lounge. I want to have it log off of the guest account after being inactive for 5 mins so that it clears the session info if the last person who used it did not log off when they were done (***this happens very often***).
I tried using the "System Preferences > Security> Log off when inactive for X minutes" option but this brings up the "Delete files and log off" dialogue which unless someone makes a selection just stays there and doesn't timeout, essentially stopping the logoff process.
How can i bypass that dialogue and force the system to log off the Guest User to avoid any issues with other guest seeing info from the previous user?

I don't believe it's possible to do what you want, unless someone could write an Applescript for it. I suspect the best route for now is the old fashioned way, paper and marker, warning guests to log off or their info will be public.

Yosemite GM Candidate Installed - Contacts Crashes Continuosly

I've been through several of the Yosemite betas without any real issues. However, since upgrading to the GM release, my Contacts apps crashes almost immediately upon launch, and I simply can't open the Contacts app.
Disabling the iCloud Contacts sync allows me to open the Contacts app - with an empty contacts list/addressbook. The app doesn't crash until the iCloud sync is enabled. Generally speaking, with the installation of the GM, I've had multiple issues with iCloud sync - which weren't issues prior to the GM candidate.
Any thoughts or ideas?

My Icloud account keep being disabled for security reasons and I don't understand why or how to prevent it

It happens at least once per month that my account is disabled for security reason and I don't even have to change the password, I just have to go on iforgot web aite and enable it but it is very annoying since my iPhone stop synchronizing and doing backups

My itunes account keeps being disabled

I get this alert repeatedly whenever I try to buy a song.
As requested I sign out, reset my password, sign in, select a song to buy... and my account has been disabled. I can't even tell you how many times this has happened.
Any help would be gratefully accepted.

Installed FF7 but keeps saying ver3 even after uninstalling and reinstalling FF7

was having problems with firefox crashing alot--had auto updates on--checked ver and said was ver3.6 whoa, installed ver7 and ran after install. but after closing and opening again would go back to ver3.6 so uninstalled fire3fox completly even bookmarks and such. then downlaoded and reinstalled ver7, newest, ran fine till i close and reopen then is ver3.6 again. anyone else? do not understand this. no other problems--except originally was crashing on certain sites--especially break.com when i stumbled there, but others as well. why i tried to update.

Mail quits on startup, not on a guest account. This only happened after downloading Mountain Lion. What do I do to fix this?

A couple of days after downloading Mountain Lion (10.8.3) Mail quits on startup. This doesn't happen on a quest account. I understand I'm not the only one with this problem (understatement). Has anybody found a solution yet??

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.

I have latest Yosemite Developer Preview installed, do I have to reinstall OS after its release?

Or should I continue using installed version and receive all the updates?

The release version has changes, though minor, so it is recommended to download the full installer and install that...available from the Mac App Store under Purchases.

My cookies keep being deleted whenever I reboot my pc.

Firefox used to save my cookies just fine, websites always remembered that I was logged in. Now, it seems like they are deleted every time when I shut down my PC. I've tried renaming the file cookies.sqlite, but that didn't help. I use Firefox 5.0.
privacy.clearOnShutdown.cookies is set to false.
I've had this problem before, and at the time I fully reinstalled Firefox (which did the trick), but I hope there is a better / faster option to solve it.

Hi guys, thanks for your answers. I managed to 'fix' the problem by using System Restore. Firefox now stores the cookies just as it used to.

VM Guests coming up with No Network after rebooting.

We have a random problem in that when we reboot our VM guests, they sometimes come back with no network connectivity at all. We cannot ping them or remote into them. When I access them from the console, the Network icon shows the warning symbol
and says: "No Internet Access".
If I check an ipconfig, it shows a 169 address even though we set static IPs on all our servers.
All I have to do to fix it is Disable and Enable the network adapter from within Windows and then everything goes back to normal.
VM Hosts are running 2012 and Guests are mostly running 2012 R2 if that matters.
Anyone have any idea what would cause this to happen?

Did you configure this VM a VLAN option use any advanced NIC option on Hyper-V host or VM, please install the latest update with your Hyper-V host and this vm then monitor this
issue again, from your current description it seems like the known issue and you can install the following KB to solve it.

Guest account logout doesn't keep files, apps on dock, How to retain?

Was thinking of setting up access to some apps on my Guest account ,not only for
my guests(wife), however, when I close the Guest account login, it tells me that I will lose all my settings and files that I might have set up. Are there
any settings that I can set up from Administrators point of view, so as when I do switch to Guest login, that these settings/files that are used or saved will actually be there the next time I login to Guest? Thanks

That's the answer, since the whole point of the Guest account is to erase it after use and leave it 'clean' for the next guest. Set up a new user account, but be sure to make it non-admin unless you're sure that anyone using it is safe to be let loose on an admin account. In any event it's always useful to have the odd spare account for testing purposes if you run into trouble.

How to create non-broadcast guest account?

I have a closed or non-broadcasted account for my master WIFI private account. After creating a Guest account for my employees its SSID for the "Guest" is being broadcasted. I do I make the Guest account from being broadcast like my master account. I'm thinking this feature is not included for Guest?

Would like this as an option for the guest account sometime in a firmware update too - as its for friends etc - you'll just tell them the SSID to connect to and it would work rather than broadcasting it. Especially as it is useful for connecting to the Nintendo DS kids bring round - but with that you have to broadcast it with no security!

No Guest Account option in Accounts tab of Sys Prefs

I seemed to have lost (???) the GUEST option for accounts that can be set up in the ACCOUNTS area of System Preferences. Maybe I inadverently deleted the official "Shared" folder or something... don't know but how do I get that type of account option back again in 10.4.11? This is a special template for Guest Accounts Apple provides in 10.4.11 as differs from me as sys admin simply setting up a new account called Guest with Standard privileges. In other words, there is no template of guest privileges to attach to a new user account.
In 10.5.2, for example, there is a standard "guest" account which automatically is deleted after the user logged in as Guest logs out.
Perhaps in 10.4.11 this didn't exist? I'm sure there was some standard Guest account though when I first installed the OS.

Guest account on WCS doesn't work as expected

I have scheduled a guest account on WCS (6.0), valid 180 days, generate password every day and email to myself, and applied to our WLCs( 5.1). The first day, guest account was created on all WLCs, and emailed me the password, worked fine, the second day, I received email with the new password, but the guest account has disappered from all WLCs, on WCS, this guest account still show as 'Active' but not apply to any WLC.

Our WLC version is 5.1.151.0 and WCS version was 6.0.132.0 but I just upgraded it to 6.0.170.0. Guest Account Sync option is enabled now ( once a day). I think I find something, one is the time on WCS and WLCs was different before (corrected this now), second, the guest account start time and end time was set to same time (1:00 Jan 1, 2010- 1:00 Jul 1, 2010) or from 8:30 Jan 1, 2010 to 8:00 Jul 1, 2010. I thought this time setting is the lifetime of the account, but actually it's the active time of the account on every scheduled day, so I change this to from 1:00 Jan 1, 2010 to 23:00 Jul 1, 2010, So far,it works fine - this guest account is created at 1:00 and removed at 23:00 everyday.
By the way, is there any documentation to tell how WCS works with WlC underneath the GUI?
