Yosemite iMessage 'not delivered'

Logged in to iMessage on my Mac Pro.
Added text forwarding from iPhone. - put in code
Go to send text message and it says "not delivered"
restarted router.
restared imessage
restarted computer
Still no go. Any ideas?

After doing what blueno suggested I did have to reboot.  I then had to provide my password lots of times when I logged in.  That still didn't work so I logged out of my iCloud account in Message and logged back in, repaired, and it worked!
This is what I did:
1) Open Key Chain Access ( go to Applications>Utilities)
2) Select Login at the top left side under Keychains
3) Select All Items on the lower left side under Category
4) Search for entries of IDS.
5) Highlight and delete all entries that has IDS.
6) Search for entries of FaceTime
7) Highlight and delete all entries of FaceTime
8) Search for entries of Messages (I also found entries containing Message (singular, not plural), but didn't delete these.)
9) Highlight and delete all entries of Messages
10) Reboot!
11) Log back in and when requested log back into iCloud account (I got asked for the password multiple times)
12) Log out of iCloud account in iMessage (Not sure if this is needed)
13) Log back into iCloud account in iMessage.
14) On iPhone in Settings/Messages/Text Message Forwarding turn off forwarding to my iMac.
15) Turn Text Message Forwarding back on for my iMac (re-pairs and I entered the new number)
16) Could send text messages from my iMac!!!!!

  • Imessage 'not delivered' message!

    Hi all,
Please, can somebody help me? I am on IOS 5 and all of my family are on IOS 5 too. we all have imessage enabled, yet when I try to send a message to either the ipod or ipad, from my iphone, I keep getting the message 'not delivered'.
I have tried many different suggestions on these and other forums, with no luck! Please, can anybody help me?
    Thank you in advance,
    Matt

I have even tried to restore phone twice! No good.

  • Imessage "not delivered" error to some people and not to others? Both using verizon iphones

I am using an iPod touch 5th gen.
Has worked really well sending Imessage. pretty much use it as a phone because there is no service where I live.
All of a sudden today I started getting "cannot deliver" or "message not delivered" errors when trying to text my friend. Yet it continues to text other friends as well. This error is also true with Facetime, and doesn't work when using an email or phone number (for a couple specific contacts)
Really confused as to why that would happen? Is that what happens if you get blocked may be?

And also the person(s) ive been trying to send it to are not recieving the messages (sometimes people have the error message displayed even though they get sent)
And they do have Wi-fi/data and haven't like recently moved or switched plans or anything.

  • IMessages not delivered on Mac

I have an iPhone 6 and MacBook Pro 2001 - everything is up to date. My iMessages stopped sending on my Mac showing a red error "not delivered" every time i try to send any iMessage, but SMS works for those without iPhones. I have read so many posts and tried just about everything and nothing is working for the past 2+ month. I haven't had the time to get help from apple because I am in grad school and need my laptop most of my time. If anyone has any suggestions please help!!!

    Back up all data.
Quit Messages if it’s running. Force quit if necessary. Relaunch it and test after each of the following steps. If the problem isn't resolved, quit again and go on to the next step.
    Step 1
Make sure you know the ID and password you use with iMessage. Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Select the login keychain from the list on the left side of the Keychain Access window. If your default keychain has a different name, select that.
If the lock icon in the top left corner of the window shows that the keychain is locked, click to unlock it. You'll be prompted for the keychain password, which is the same as your login password, unless you've changed it.
    From the menu bar, select
Keychain Access ▹ Keychain First Aid
from the menu bar and repair the keychain.
From the Category list in the lower left corner of the window, select
               My Certificates
Look carefully at the list of certificates in the right side of the window. If any of them is marked with a red "X" as expired or invalid, delete it. Also delete all items with "iMessage" or "com.apple.idms" in the name, whether valid or not.
    Now select
                Passwords
in the Category list. Enter "ids" (without the quotes) in the search box in the toolbar of the window. Delete all items of type "application password" that have a name beginning in any of the following ways:
                ids:
                IDS:
                com.apple.ids:
Quit Keychain Access. Log out and log back in.
    Step 2
Hold down the option key and select
              Go ▹ Library
from the Finder menu bar. Move the following items from the Library folder to the Trash (some may not exist):
              Containers/com.apple.corerecents.recentsd
              Caches/com.apple.Messages
              Caches/com.apple.imfoundation.IMRemoteURLConnectionAgent
              Containers/com.apple.iChat
              Containers/com.apple.soagent
              IdentityServices
Leave the Library folder open. Log out and log back in.
    Step 3
Go back to the Finder and move the following item from the open Library folder to the Desktop:
              Messages
Note: you are not moving the Messages application. You’re moving a folder named “Messages.”
If Messages now works, delete the Messages folder on the Desktop. Otherwise, quit Messages again. Put back the folder you moved, overwriting the newer one that may have been created in its place.
    Step 4
In the Preferences subfolder, there may be several files having names that begin with any of the following strings:
              com.apple.iChat
              com.apple.ids
              com.apple.imdsmsrecordstore
              com.apple.imessage
              com.apple.imservice
Move them all to the Desktop. There may also be a file with the name "com.apple.imagent.plist". Move that to the Trash.
Also in the Preferences folder, there's a subfolder named "ByHost". Open it and do the same thing.
Log out and log back in. Test again. This time Messages should perform normally, but your settings will be lost. You may be able to put back some of the files you moved to the Desktop in this step. Relaunch and test after each one. Eventually you should find one or more that causes Messages to malfunction. Delete those files and recreate whatever settings they contained.
If the issue is still not resolved, quit Messages again and put all the items you moved to the Desktop back where they were. You don’t need to replace the items you moved to the Trash. Stop here and post your results.
If you later decide that you don’t like the results of Steps 3 and 4, you can undo them completely by quitting Messages and restoring the items you deleted in those steps from your backup.

  • IMessage not delivering

I've seen a couple of different topics about this but none that really detail my problem.  I transferred from MobileMe to iCloud when the transition first started (I use a @me.com email address still) and iMessage has always worked fine.  It seems the last couple of weeks (maybe since MobileMe officially deactivated?) I can't send or recieve iMessages (both on my phone, iPad and now on Mountain Lion) using my Apple ID as the caller ID.  If I set it to my number everything works fine, but the moment I set it to my me.com email address everything just sets to "Not Delivered" with the red exclamation mark.  What's strange is that SOMETIMES the messages go through, even when it says not delivered.  Everyone texting ME also gets Not Delivered, even if I may get the message.
I've tried resetting network settings, I've tried restoring a back up and I've tried completely restoring my phone in a clean restore, nothing seems to work. And now (I know this isn't the right section) but Messages for Mountain Lion is doing the Not Delivered thing too.  I'm assuming it's just a problem with my Apple ID?
By the way, I have an iPhone 4, an iPad 3 and a MacBook Pro and it happens on all of them.

    ^ I had a similar solution.
It seems the issue was the beta version of Messages I had on my iMac. The beta had stopped working a long time ago on my iMac so I just ignored it and left it, waiting for Mountain Lion. As soon as I installed Mountain Lion and cleared the beta Messages, iMessage started working on every one of my products properly.

  • IMessage not delivering to certain contacts with iOS 7. How to fix?

iMessages for my iPhone 4 will deliver to some contacts but not others.  I have turned the iMessages off and on. Still will not deliver to the perticular contact I am trying to send to.  I have not updated to the iS 7.0.3 yet.  Not sure if this will even fix all of the problems that have occured with this new operating system.  Any suggestions on why this picks and chooses when to send the iMessages???

Thank you so much.  I will do that.  To be honest since updating to the iOS 7.0.2, I wish I never had.  This update has given me so many problems when I had none before.  Thanks again!

  • IMessages not delivered

    Hi,
Normally when I send an iMessage it says delivered but today I sent two messages and it does not say delivered. It has never happened before and I really need to know if they were sent or not. Does anyone know why?
    Thanks

If I message cannot make contact with the target, it will come back and tell you undelivered.  You can try and resend.  This will happen when the phone or pad you are sending to is not on the net.

  • I am getting iMessage "not delivered" error message even though my iMessages are going through. how do I fix?

I am using iOS 7.0.4 and recently when using iMessage, I am getting undeliverable error messages whenever I send an iMessage. This occurs regardless of whether I'm using my iPhone, iPad or MacBook. The thing is, the messages are still going through. The attached screenshot was taken from a friends device who is getting the same messages and obviously receiving them.

Yep, same boat... And while I used to get messages simultaneously on my iPad and iPhone, it seems my iPhone is the only one receiving and it's not syncing convos like it was.
The undeliverable thing is HUGE though and driving my Apple family crazy!!
Any news on when we can expect an update to fix it?

  • IMessage not delivering message

When I try sending a message it has a red explanation point and says not delivered

No, it's not that. It's a bug. Maybe restart your iPod touch if that dosent work restart your internet. If BOTH dont work, contact Apple Genius Bar [Not sure if its only mac?] or go to a nearby apple Licensed Retail Store and they should be able to fix it.

  • Imessage showing not delivered status..in mac mini

    Hi all,
I am using mac mini with new Yosemite OS, my imessage sign in with my user id , but if i ping any online recipient, status shows not delivered.same apple id account i login in same mac mini with another user login account its working. is the user profile issue or any other issue?

Try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account.  Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear and again when you log in. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don’t do them all at once.

  • I can't imessage my other iphone4 it says not delivered and ask me to try again and gives me the option to send as a text

OK so I have two new 4S phones with the new imessage feature, one phone is mine and the other phone is my wife's. I have one itunes account that recognizes both phones as the same email account in the Apple ID in the imessage settings on both phones. We are having problems with the imessage working between us. When we are sitting next to each other it works, but when we are at our seperate places of employment and text each other we get imessage error's "Not delivered", it works fine as a regular text, so I'm  guessing it has something to do with both phones having the same Apple ID. How do I get her phone to have her own seperate Apple ID, or is there another way to resolve this issue? Neither one of us has unlimited texting so the imessag feature is really great for us if it will work.

Try simply dismissing the popup by hitting cancel and then Get Mail from the account in question.

  • I am suddenly getting messages from iMessage saying my message is not delivered

    Whay is wrong?

This is a serious ongoing problem with my wife's iPhone 5. It's on IOS 7.0.4 and she is getting message failed/not delivered constantly. The only way to get it working again is the power off the phone and power it back on then it will work for a little while before having problems again.
Before you say reset your phone and all that BS, I HAVE factory reset the phone and did NOT restore a backup and the problem still persists. I even got a replacement phone from verizon and started from scratch again and it STILL has the problem. I've tried turning off iMessage, didn't help. I tried disabling LTE, didn't help.
This problem must be in IOS 7, she never had single issue in IOS 6. Please fix this problem Apple.

If that's a 'soft' reset, then what's a 'hard' reset?

  • I keep getting a "not delivered" message when I try to send a picture through imessage

Over the last week each time I sent a picture in iMessage it goes out then I get a "Not Delivered" message. The other person gets the picture even though it says not delivered.  I've shut iMessage off then back on, I've done a hard shutdown/restart.  I'm not sure what else to do.  Is anyone else having this issue and been able to resolve it?
    Thank you!

How do you fix apple errors that come up when you try to open iTunes?

  • IMessage getting "Not Delivered" error, Message Send Failure

I upgraded to ios5 on my 3GS last night, seemed to have no problems, no errors.  When I try sending a text another iphone users, it defaults to sending an iMessage, but then says "Not Delivered" in red, with a red exclamation point next to it.  My daughter, on the same network and same house can send imessages to me, but I do not receive them.
In my settings, I've tried turning iMessage on and off, tried setting "Send As SMS" both on and off, no changes.  "Receive At" has my phone number, and my apple id email address.  I've tried restoring and reinstalling ios, restarting the phone numerous times, nothing seems to work.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Nancy

I'm in the same boat with my new 4S. I installed 5.0.1 last night and it was working fine until this morning. When I woke up, I tried to send a text message with no luck. iMessage works fine, and I can RECIEVE text messages. Just no dice on sending any. At all.
