  • Yosemite Phone call / SMS on older Mac's

So does phone call and SMS still work on older Macs that can run Yosemite? even if they have 2.0 bluetooth. Looking to buy a 2010 Pro but wanted to see if those items worked or not.

Phone Calls / SMS Relay works on any Mac that can run Yosemite. See: Continuity: Phone Calls, SMS Relay, Handoff, and Instant Hotspot.

  • Droid Razr HD Phone Call Problem

I've had a Razr HD for about a month, and tonight I began having trouble making and receiving phone calls. At first, I could only hear the other person if the phone was on speaker, but now I can't hear them at all. I've restarted the phone a couple of times, but it hasn't helped.

        Hey there Cpenrod84,
The Razr HD is a great phone and I want you to have a wonderful experience with it so lets get you back up and running.
It seems as if the calls go through ok, its just when you get the calls no one can hear anybody. If you turn on the speakerphone can you hear then,http://vz.to/1bkbByG?
I would recommend a hard reset,http://vz.to/PNXkCC, and when the phone comes back on please test the speaker.

  • Both  iphones on one itunes account phone calls problem

Hi,i have 2 iphones both with different phone number ,after when upgrade them to ios8 when someone is calling to either of us both of them are ringing

That is correct. They have to be on the same Wi-Fi network.
This will also work if you have an iPad with iOS 8 or a newer Mac computer (i believe Bluetooth 4.1 LE is required) and Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite which is expected to be released October 2014.
You discovered what could be a usability bug. It would be better if there was a way to configure exactly which devices could receive these calls. Right now it appears to be one toggle to turn it on or off for all devices.

  • H.323 endpoint to analog phone call problem

I have Tandberg H.323 endpoints registered in gatekeeper, Callmanager 4.2(1) and MGCP voice gateway to classic telephony. There is a problem, when I try to set up a call from H.323 endpoint to the analog phone through voice gateway. The call is set up but disconnets after about 3 seconds alerting signal. However you can have normal connection, when you answer the phone during theese three seconds of alerting. When it disconnects it says: 'Resource unavailable, unsecified'.
    What can cause such problem?
    Thanks in advance.

NO, I was using an Sx-20 as the H323 endpoint. I tried a different video confernece unit. The other confernce unit worked with out any issues. Sorry I wish I new what was wrong with the sx-20. What kind of h323 endpoint are you using?

  • IsO 7.0 phone call problems

While on a call it is hard not to touch your face to the phone which will either hang-up, mute or put your caller on speakerphone.  how do you stop this without buying an earbud?

You need to change the Proximity sensor, either find a store that can repair it, if not you can go to apple to make an exchange of the device.

  • Phone Call Problems

I am having issues placing calls from my i phone 5
I have consulted my service provider (Vodafone IN) and they informed me that this was an i phone related issue
So if someone could just help me regarding the following.

Hi, @albertueb. Thanks for sharing your concern. When did it start? Does this happen all the time regardless of your location and the contact you're trying to call? This may be basic but do you have a stable network signal in your area? If you haven't tried any troubleshooting steps on the phone, let's start with removing any accessory or cover that may possibly affect your cellular signal. You can also try switching your Nokia X off and on to refresh the its software. It would also help if you have the latest software version installed on it. Here's how-to:

  • IPhone 6 Plus 64GB (iOS 8.1 or 8.1.1) springboard crashes repeatedly when making phone calls via Continuity on Macbook Pro Retina Mid 2014 using Yosemite 10.10.1

I USED TO be able to make phone calls using continuity on my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014) with Yosemite (10.10) via my iPhone 6 Plus on iOS 8.1 without any problems.  Once I updated Yosemite to 10.10.1, my iPhone's springboard would continually crash where it brings up the Apple logo and quickly restarts repeatedly until I end the call.  Just so that you know, I am able to stay on the call while this is occurring the whole time.
I need to reiterate, this all started happening as soon as I updated Yosemite to 10.10.1 while still on iOS 8.1.  I know this because I made a few phone calls (loving the feature), updated Yosemite to 10.10.1, then made a few phone calls afterwards, and this started happening.
When iOS 8.1.1 came out, I eagerly updated hoping this issue would go away, and it did not.  I'm hoping Apple notices this post.  If anyone else has this problem, please contact Apple and chime in this post as well.  Thank you Apple for incorporating continuity calling. I love this feature, but need to use it without my phone's springboard constantly crashing.

I have this issue as well. I am using an iPhone 6 plus, iPad Air 2, 5K iMac, and MacBook Pro. When I make a continuity calls from any device, the springboard crashes. This only happens with outgoing calls, incoming calls are functioning normal. I am currently working with multiple Apple Senior Advisors, and they are working directly with iOS a engineers. I have an active open case and will update this thread when a resolution is found.
Just a tip for everyone with this issue, restoring your devices and setting them up as new WILL NOT correct this issue. Save yourself the hassle. I did this with my iPhone, iPad, and MacBook and the issue still persists.

  • IPhone 5 and Yosemite, can not send or receive phone calls on Mac

I have latest software on iPhone 5 and Yosemite and an update on cloud, still no phone calls are displaying on my mac or txt msgs... am I missing a step? Can only users who also have iPhones with Facetime only contact me via my computer?

    Hi ravanarrowood,
I had similar problems at the beginning. Bluetooth were switched on on both devices but the hands off was not working. Later I realized that iOS 8.1 was already released but my iPhone did not even notify me. Then I restored the iPhone connecting it to iTunes, installed iOS 8.1 and only after that bluetooth starting working properly and I could manage to pair both devices.
For text messages, try going to Messages --> Preferences --> Accounts --> iCloud account
You can be reached for messages at ... Add your cell phone number if it is not there already.
I could manage to receive the messages from my Mac with these settings. But still the messages are not syncing across devices but I am just receiving them from both devices. I delete a message from my iPhone in the morning and in the afternoon I re-receive it from my Mac. Interesting..

  • My handoff phone call does not work with Yosemite while other apps are working

I have upgraded to Yosemite and tried the handoff with my iPhone 6. First time I tested phone call which worked. I switched off the Mac and went out. When I came back the handoff phone call didn't work anymore, while Safari, Email, etc. are still working via handoff.
Thanks for any help in advance

The iPhone calling feature is not called, "Handoff." Using the terminology incorrectly only adds to the problem. "Handoff," is the feature where apps share documents.
Both "Phone" and "Handoff" are separate features under "Continuity."
    This is "Handoff":
    This is "Phone" calling:

  • How do I make a phone call from my mac with yosemite?

How do I make a phone call from my MacBook Pro on the Yosemite operating system?

The following quotation is from Connect your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac using Continuity
There is more information in the link, including supported hardware and that you must have Settings > FaceTime > iPhone Cellular Calls set to on on the iPhone.
    Phone calls
With Continuity, you can make and receive cellular phone calls from your iPad, iPod touch, or Mac when your iPhone is on the same Wi-Fi network.
To make and receive phone calls, here's what you need:
Sign in to the same iCloud account on all your devices, including your Mac.
Your iPhone and your iPad or iPod touch need to use iOS 8 or later. Your Mac needs to use OS X Yosemite.
All devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network.
All devices must be signed in to FaceTime using the same iCloud account. This means any device that shares your Apple ID will get your phone calls. Look below for instructions on how to turn off iPhone cellular calls.
Wi-Fi Calling needs to be off. Go to Settings > Phone. If you see Wi-Fi Calling, turn it off.
    Make a call
To make a phone call on your Mac, iPad or iPod touch tap or click a phone number in Contacts, Calendar, or Safari.
