Yosemite photoshop cc graphics very slow, photoshop cs4 is fine

Using Photoshop CC 2014 on mac yosemite and having a lot of graphics sluggishness. Turned the GPU on and off and its still very sluggish.. if I drag around a layer it skips around the screen in little jumps rather than being smooth. If I open photoshop cs4 and do the same thing its nice and smooth like it should be. Im using a 2.5ghz i-5, 16gb ram, and intel hd 4000 graphics card. Any ideas on whats going on?

I had a similar problem....something that helped was to tick the 'use graphics processor' in the performance pane in Ps. Then click advanced settings and set drawing mode to 'advanced'....then quit and restart Ps. See it it works for you....

could the launch agents failing slow the computer or they just don't work. I mean I am willing to upgrade ram but not if there is good chance it won't change speed much. Also to downgrade is it necessary to format the hard drive?

OS Yosemite/Photoshop CS4/Printer Problem

I recently upgraded to OS 10.10, Yosemite. I can no longer get accurate colors printed for photos from Photoshop. I have Photoshop CS4 and I use an Epson Stylus Photo R2400 printer. I am able to use Photoshop for everything but printing accurately. I downloaded all recommended drivers for the printer, reloaded profiles for the printer and even tried a trial of Photoshop CC. Nothing resolves the problem. My prints look kind of solarized. Black and white photos have green areas where there should be black. Please help.

Shift + command + f   very slow with cs4 clone and healing tool?

using cs4-- i use the shift + command + f a lot to fade in or out the clone tool and healing brush.
however in cs4 the preview is very slow-- even though i have 8gb of ram!
the same process on the same file in cs3 is rapid-- even with only 2gb of ram-- so i assume this is a cs4 problem?
any solutions appreciated.

Do you mean photoshop elements 7 and not premiere elements?
The fix posted above only applies to linux os systems, which is
different from mac and windows.
On windows vista Alt+left click is to set the clone source.
Try the following steps one at a time.
1. reset the clone stamp tool by clicking triangle on the far left of the
   tool options bar and select reset tool.
2. Go to Edit>Preset Manager and click Done in the dialog that appears.
3. Reset the elements 7 preferences by holding down the Shift+Alt+Ctrl keys
    at the same time you start elements 7. In the dialog that appears, click yes.

T540p not using nvidia graphics, very slow

Well I'm using a T540p with GeForce GT 730M.
When I use applications with WPF or DirectDraw, like Office or Chrome (I think they do...) the notebooks very slow. I get a hight load on system process.
When I use the Process Explorer to see whats going on:
ntoskrnl.exe!WheaAttemptPhysicalPageOffline
is on high load.
I checked the Bios: There is no way to deactivate the Intel HD Graphics. Checked the nvidia system settings to: Its set to use GeForce.
Also tried to install newest drivers and so on: They are installed.
Oh well: I use Windows 7, 64bit.

After upgrading Yosemite my imac become very slow in power off!!!

Hello, i have this problem: after upgrading to yosemite my imac (27" 8gb intel i5) become very very slow in power off!!
Every other function are ok...only power off is very slow!!
I try to reinstall, to exit from iCloud, verify permission of disk and clean with application like ccleaner...but the problem remain!!
Anyone have my same problem? How can i fix this?

Since downloading yosemite my computer is very slow

I downloaded Yosemite a few weeks ago and any activity is exceedingly slow
that includes checking mail, safari windows, my quicken program and even writing this question.
Does anyone have this experience and more importantly a suggested solution?

Fix for very slow InDesign CS4 on PC

Hi, everyone- I don't know much about computers or software so apologies if I don't make sense! I installed my InDesign CS4 on my PC (which has a very fast processor, loads of RAM, etc) and accepted all the standard recommended settings (ie: I've changed nothing from what the standard installation settings are) but it's running so slowly. It takes ages for files to open, even ones that are only a few megs in size. It even takes ages for InDesign to open on it's own. And it takes around 5 minutes for it to shut down too, even if I've made no changes to the file which is an indesign document of about 3 megs in size.
A friend said that I should consider getting "ZX81" software as this is better quality than Adobe's products, but I'm not sure what he means. Any suggestions would be really grateful.

There are quite a few things that can affect performance. I'd start with a spyware scan, then look through this forum for other suggestions.

N9800GT 512OC - 2D Graphics Very Slow

My only issue with the 9800GT 512OC is the fact that when I benchmark it with various tools, Performance Test 6.1 and 3DMark06, my 2D scores are absolutely horrible. On performance test 6.1 I got a 97 and I don't recall the 3DMark06 score, but it was also pretty low.
Are all the high end 3D cards going to perform this way?

3Dmark06 doesn't have any 2d tests. Also how should 2d be slow? Is your desktop slow or what? A 2d score would be pretty useless as I can't imagine how a vga card could should be slow in 2d...

Mail very very slow. Other applications fine.

Cannot figure it out. One day Mail fine. Next day it takes several minutes to load inbox , delete, or send.
Have cleared history. Have cleared cache. Nothing is better. It seems to be Safari as on Firefox things work well.

System preferences is very slow, everything else is fine

I have a Macbook Pro from mid-2009 and since installing Mountain Lion yesterday I have some major performance issues only with System Preferences. It started when I wanted to configure iCloud and now I notice it is for nearly all items in System Preferences. Does anyone have any ideas?

I managed to get some performance back by disabling icloud on all devices (iphone and ipad) and then restarting the icloud setup process on my macbook first, followed by the devices. It all seems to work better now however still not as good as I would expect.
The back to my mac option also does not work and nor does the find my mac.

Very slow graphics when using AMD Radeon HD 6490M with Yosemite

I'm using a 15" MacBook Pro early 2011. When I switch to the GPU using gfxCardStatus (or because an app requires it), all graphics become very slow: window dragging, window miniaturize animation, moving the mouse in the menubar etc. 3D view in Maps.app is very slow. All is fine when using the integrated Intel HD 3000. I did not have this problem with Yosemite Developer Previews (I did not install the GMs), nor with Mavericks.
I tried using AMD kext from the DP, but things are worst (I suppose the kext are not loaded at all because the signature does not match).

I tried to do that with the same download package on my Pavilion DV6 CTO Quad edition and it fails to install the driver because of a conflict with the C++ Redistributable 2010 package build into the installer. Does anyone know if HP is going to update the switchable graphic drivers for Windows 8? They better!
