Yosemite restarts when on a Skype call

Hi, i Have updated to yosemite not long ago, i installed Skype the latest version, and made a call after a few minutes the call freezes and the mac mini restarts and i got to log back into Skype and yosemite! has anyone been facing the same issues with yosemite Skype related. Many thanks

Xbox Music App Volume Lowers when in a skype call

Hello, I was wondering if there was a way to prevent my xbox music app volume from lowereing whenever im in a skype call. The music works fine on my desktop, but when I enter a skype call, the music lowers to where I can't hear it.

Can I adjust the video image I receive when making a Skype call?

I have made my first Skype call and the video image I see on my computer is very dark and I am wondering if there is some way to make adjustments? Do I need to get some specific software for viewing? I don't really understand the whole thing but I sure would like to have a better quality image of the person I am speaking with.
I appreciate any help I can get! Thank you

There's nothing much you can do unless the person
you skype to turns on some lights over their computer.

HP Slate 7 restarts when trying to video call

I am using HP Slate 7 Voice Tab (Snow White, 16 GB, Wi-Fi, 3G).
After upgrading to Android KitKat, I am having problems in videocalling. Whenever I am tapping to videocall button in Hangouts or Skype, the tablet just restarts. I have also tried "Hangouts Dialer" app, but again, with this app also, the tablet just restarted itself after I tried to call someone. I have tried uninstalling updates to Hangouts app and cleared cache, but even with the backdated factory version of Hangouts app, the tablet restarts if I try to videocall someone. I have also done a Factory Reset, but the problem is still there even after doing the Factory Reset. After the reset, I have updated the Hangouts and the Skype apps to their current versions, but the same problem occurs.
I have noticed other people with similar problems in this forum: here. I have not used videocalling before upgrading to KitKat, so I cannot tell that it was working fine before. I have done all the steps that have adviced in the linked discussion, but none has helped me yet.
Please help me as videocalling is one of the most basic functionalities a tablet must have. Thank you.

Welcome to the HP forums.
I understand your Slate 7 Voice Tab is experiencing issues with internet calling apps after updating to KitKat.
Reinstall the problem app: Go to Settings > Storage > Apps > Select the app > Uninstall. Once uninstalled go to the Google Play Store app > Select My apps from the menu on the left > Select the All tab > Select the app > Install.
Clear all cache on the tablet: Settings > Storage > Cached Data. You should have the option to erase all the cached data here.
Hard reset: While the tablet is on, press and hold the power button for 8+ seconds to force shut down. Turn the tablet back on and see if that helps.
Factory reset: Make sure you backup any important files or information first. Settings > Backup & reset > Factory data reset.

Nokia E5 restart when log in Skype

Hello, I own a Nokia E5, purchased in November 2010. I've been using Skype since March 2011 and it worked fine but sometimes got stucked and my phone suddenly restarted.
Two days ago, Skype stopped working and Nokia is restarting every single time I try to log in in Skype,...what's happening? I need Skype and seems its my Nokia the one acting up.
What can I do about it? Please help.

I'm sorry that no one seems to know what you should do. If you are able to back up everything on your phone, you might consider then formatting it to factory state. Then you could install Skype first, and see whether it continues to fail. If it does, my guess would be that there might be an issue with the E5 Skype compatibility, since other E5 users are complaining of the same problem as you.

Skype calls to pc drop pc's connection to internet

When in a skype call the connection between my computer and the interent will dissapear interupting the call. It does not seem to restart the router or even disconnect the computer from the router as all pther internet using devices remain fully opperational. The internet will remain unaccessable from this pc for as long as the call is attempting to reconnect OR untill I disconnect from the router and reconnect again.
As you can guess this gets frustraiting when you're trying to skype your girlfriend who's half a country away nad keep having to re-connect the call every 5 minutes at best.
The problem does not seem to be with the router as it is fine from all other devices including my android phone and several other windows laptops. It is also present on (assumingly) all networks including the D-Link router in use at home, the Virgin media Super hub I use at my uni house and on an ethernet connection I had in halls last year.
I will work on getting logs uploaded ASAP, however as it is currently late I don't really want to go ringing people to wait for the call to drop at some random point. I am also happy to provide any additional information which may be required to diagnose the issue, for starters here is the log from when I ran the network connectivity troubleshooter last time it disconnected in this way: http://pastebin.com/2zi99XyY

Is there a fix for metro apps audio ducking while in a Skype call

Hello, I have been looking all over the internet for a fix for this but so far it doesn't seems like there is a way to fix this.
I'm trying to use Metro apps while in a Skype call but if I click out of the app the volume lowers to about 20% of what it was at before.
"When Windows detects communicates activity" is set to "Do nothing" but it does not control the Metro part of windows 8.1.
Is there some type of hack that be used to stop Metro apps from lower the volume when in a Skype call, Teamspeak or Mumble. As a gamer this makes the Metro part of Windows completely useless.

I made a test in my testing enviroment, when using Skype(Store APP) for phone call, system background volume would reduce, while after I'm back to desktop, it would return to former volume.
For your situation, this problem can be caused by Sound Card driver problem, you can try to reinstall Sound Card driver for test.
If no use, please also try to reinstall Skype for test.

IPhone 4s-ios6-purple haze coming during skype call

I'm using iPhone 4s. After ios6 update a purple haze is coming in the picture when doing a skype call. In ios5 this issue was not there.

I do not have this issue on my phone. I have a iPhone 4s as well.
That's pretty incredible. Try seeing if you can see a remote control flashing purple. If you can, you've got an issue with your front camera allowing NIR into your camera sensor.. There is a really easy way to solve this fortunately.

Skype Calls not received when MacBook Air is asleep

My MacBook Air is running Mountain Lion OS 10.8.5 with Skype 6.14. Skype video calls are received normally with notification sounds as long as the MacBook Air is not asleep. It will also receive a video call one time while asleep if Skype has first been restarted. After that when the MacBook goes back to sleep a Skype call is ignored. I haven't been able to solve this by changing Energy Saver settings in OS System Preferences or anything in Skype Preferences. I tried deleting the Skype Preferences file plist but this didn't make a difference. Could this be related to the loss of Skype sound problem widely reported? Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas on how to fix this would be appreciated.

Update - I ended up spending about an hour on the phone with a very helpful rep from AppleCare. He was also stumped by this problem. We ended up solving it by using a remote screen-share app that allowed him to see what my video card was sending to the external display, and he directed me over the phone to change the settings (quite funny really - it was literally "move your mouse up a tiny bit, now click, now left, etc).
So, my problem is solved for now, albeit in a very cumbersome way. Still amazed that there's no way to fix this properly.

Skype freezes when i make a call. Windows 8 Skype ...

So, This is not the first time ive had this problem with skype. However i solved it here.

But now. Its freezing again when i make a call.
Heres the thing, however. This problem occured seconds after i got out of a call that i was in for maybe 5 hours with 2 of my friends. When i restarted my client it froze my computer like it did a month prior. Ill link a dxdiag.exe and ive already tried all the steps i was gave last time i had this problem.

Why my iphone 5 restart itself when I make a call on facetime?

When I make a call on facetime, sometime my iphone 5 was hang, then black screen and restart itself.
At the first, I think it's because my ios is 6.0 so I update to 6.0.1 but it still restart itself. What should I solve this problem?

Any sounds played from media players, websites or any other source work properly when a skype call is being made.
As soon as the call is disconnected, everything stops.
What is the skype call triggering that enables the audio to play.
I have uninstalled/reinstalled IDT drivers, tried all sorts of configuration settings, but nothing has worked so far.
What is the problem here and how can it be fixed???

Skype number is busy when people try to call me ?p...

When i got my skype number it was busy when someone tried to call me and my skype was online . I changed my skype to only friends on skype list logged out for 5 minutes then logged in and changed it back to everyone can contact me. Been 3 days now and still no joy on my chefdamo account

Skype keeps crashing when making/receiving a call

When I make a call or receive a call on Skype it crashes. It seems to happen when either party clicks answer. IMs work fine but can't use the program for its main function.
Running Skype 7.0.0.102
Tried reinstalling still experiencing the problem.
Deleting the folder C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Skype does resolve the issue but it is only a temporary solution and not how to run Skype.
Included a DxDiag.txt file.

XSplit software is the only Video Capture device, and most likely conflicts with Skype.

Try to uninstall this application. Perhaps it will just be enough to unregister VHMediaCOM.dll module:
