Yosemite won't download - stuck in a loop

Hello,
I have a Mac Mini Mid 2012 using OS 10.9.5. I'm trying to download Yosemite from the app store and it is stuck in a loop.
It gets to 870mb and reverts back to 860mb. It then downloads up to 870mb again, then right back to 860mb.
It does this a few times then I get the error from the app store that says Yosemite can't download and to try again.
Any help on this? I've been trying since Thursday.

You may have a problem with the preferences file. Try to remove the file "com.apple.garageband.plist" from your user library to the Desktop.
Quit GarageBand, if it is running.
Open the User Library - on MacOS X 10.7. the library is hidden - use the Finder's "Go" menu in the main menu bar to reveal it ("Finder > Go" and hold down the options key, until the Library appears in the droop down menu)
In the Finder window open the "Preferences" folder and drag "com.apple.garageband.plist" to the Desktop. Then launch GarageBand again.
Now it should start downloading for one last time, but this time be able to write and remember that the download has been accomplished.

Background: [Experts welcome to avoid this by skipping to the next paragraph] I need to update my MacBookAir to Yosemite from Snow Leopard. To answer the obvious, since most who read this think I'm practically working with an abacus and smoke signals: I've been avoiding upgrades because I just didn't see the need to spend the money when I wasn't having any issues. The issue now is that I can't get Norton support with Snow Leopard. So, having heard of the free upgrade to 10.10, I went for it. --And no, I'm not a cheapskate. In fact, I couldn't afford the Air to start with, but some fool gave me a credit card and-- well, there you go.
The problem: I want to (finally) upgrade from Snow Leopard to Yosemite. I downloaded the 10.6.8 combo pack to my MacBookAir (11-inch, late 2010), necessary to get an App Store update that would allow the download of Yosemite. [This is how I was successful in going through this same process with my MacMini (early 2010). Although there's a Java problem there that's baffling--another question, another thread.] The machine tells me the combo pack update installed successfully, but I can't get past that step to OS 10.10. When I open the App Store and navigate to Yosemite and select to get it, nothing happens. Additionally, and most troubling, is that now Safari won't open for more than a couple of seconds before "unexpectedly" shutting down For what it's worth, Mail works fine, so internet connectivity doesn't seem to be the issue.
What I've tried:
     -Software Update. Air tells me the operation can't be completed because I don't have permission.
     -Verified both start up disc and HD, including repairing permissions. Still no go on updates.
     -Not banging my head against the wall. This has been successful thus far. However, I'm willing to go there if it will help.

p.s. I'm willing to--for the short term--go back to pre-10.6.8 combo update if that's what I need to do to use Safari.

Yosemite won't download from app store

When i click on download/upgrade to Yosemite in App store nothing happens. Installer does not pop up or anything. I have tried looking in Finder -> Applications for the install as others have eluded to but nothing. Also tried looking in purchases in the App store but nothing either. Hints/help?

Satellite L500-19X: Win7 install won't work - stuck on syswow64 loop?

I've tried to reinstall Windows 7 on Satellite L500-19x but it won't complete - every time I boot up laptop a white splash screen appears saying "preparing to install...may take a few minutes" but this never disappears...can get out of this screen by starting task manager and hitting escape a few times.
When get as far as desktop things seem to be in order except for command prompt running Syswow64/sysprep/...access is denied on continuous loop, also there is a window saying "TUPIT 2" which seems to have failed as there is a "requested registry access is not allowed" in front of it.
Would really appreciate if somebody could tell me how to fix this as it is extremely frustrating and seems to be so close yet so far to being successfully completed!

This message is very strange. Had read in internet about similar issues but the issues were always related to the registry problems.
In most cases the error message appeared trying to repair the Windows OS.
Did you try to make a clean installation?
I think you should format the HDD firstly before trying to install the Win 7.
Hopefully everything would be erased from HDD before starting the setup installation

Mountain lion won't download, stuck at 142mb

I've been trying for months to download Mountain Lion, it keeps stalling at 142mb. any ideas?

The Apple Store idea is probably the best. Do you have access to another network using another ISP (friend's house?) where you can try the download again? Needs to be someone who has a Mac. You can then put the download on a USB stick and install it on your iMac.
You can also try resetting the App Store.

The new OSX Yosemite won't download on my MacBook and when i try to restart it takes me back to the download screen. How can i get back to my original desktop so the MacBook functions?

I assume your AppleTV is connecting over wi-fi as ethernet is normally, though not always, much more stable.
Is this AppleTV 1 (silver/grey) or black AppleTV2/3?
These things can be tricky to pin down, but wi-fi interference (eg from competing networks, microwave ovens, cordless landline phones) can often kick a device off the network when on wi-fi even if other devices remain stable.
What specifically do you see when this happens?
AppleTV unable to connect to iTunes/spinning wheel on TV?
iTunes no longer seing AppleTV device (AppleTV1 in device list), all for airplay (non-mirroring) options?
Does AppleTv fail to connect to the laptop iTunes library after perhaps it has been away from the house and is then brought back?

Nope. It just opened the installer and stayed in the same loop.
It tells me to choose a startup disk but the only option is the HD which it will not use because it says it cannot gather enough information.
Eveything was working fine until the mountain lion failed install.

Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, you were downloading an update and it was interrupted. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.

Remove the song in question from the sync list and see if the rectifies the problem.
If it does, then iTunes believes the song no longer exists on your drive and that will need to be corrected.

Shut down and reboot your iOS (press and hold the wake/sleep button and when prompted, slide to poweroff and then press and hold the wake/sleep button to reboot).
Go look what had happen with your apps. Maybe it's ok. If not, tap and hold its icon and then tap the X to delete it from your iOS device and redownload it from the app store (no charge for that).
Juste to let you know, your description state iPad2 but you are in the forum for iPod.

What a joke Apple is. So many problems with restoring and updating phones. Definitely NOT users friendly anymore. A simple update to iOS7 causes MASSIVE mayhem and bricks 10's of thousands of phones WTG Apple. Hope Samsung smashes you out of the phone market. I will NEVER buy another Apple product again. ITunes Match fails at step 1 every time and won't work! Stuck in fail loop!

I subscribed to iTunes match a few days ago and the first time i tried to sync my library it got up to step 3 and was halfway through uploading the rest of my library when i accidentally closed itunes. When i rebooted iTunes i restarted the match sync and now it doesnt get past step 1. When it gets up to the final stage of step 1 an error message comes up 'iTunes has stopped working' and I have to close itunes, when i reboot iTunes and start matc again, it starts from the beggining of step 1 fails again. I am stuck in a loop!
Please can someone help me Ive tried everything!

How full is the phone? Check settings, general usage. If the phone is full, back up, and then reset your phone to remove corrupt files and old text and phone logs. Then restore from backup.
Are you in Apples family sharing group?
Is your Apple ID and password correct in settings? sign out, and sign back in.

Lion won't start, stuck in loop

This morning my Dual-Core Intel Xeon, Mac begins start up, then turns completely off. My (own) memory is faulty, but I think I've upgraded to 10.7.5.
At first it was stuck in start up so I turned it off then on again.
My first warning was when I came into the office this morning and the APC was beeping. Why? That's a mystery too, because its battery appears to be fine, and turning it off then on again the "green" operating light shines as normal. Funny though, when I turned the APC off then on, the computer tried to start up, but I'd shut it down the night before, ...unless, and here's again a memory glitch, ...I may have let it "sleep" overnight, though that would be highly unusual for me.
Hints?
