Yosemite won't let me add HP printer

I don't print much, but after updating to Yosemite a number of weeks ago, I suddenly realized that my printers are gone from the Print/Fax control panel. I ahve an older HP 2200 laserjet and and Epson WF-3520. I did software update (I had to delete the hp printer folder first in order to get the download to work), and downloaded HP printer software v3. I got the latest drivers directly from Epson. Rebooted. Tried to add the HP, and the machine went to search for the software via software update (why?). Then it complained it wasn't available. Huh? I have the software installed on my machine. No luck adding the Espon either. Does anyone have any idea what is going on? I've never had trouble with printer drivers on OS X before, but this is not good.

The location of printing system files changed in Yosemite - requiring many, many updated drivers.
Try Resetting the Printing System and then Add the printer again.
The reset forces OS X to find (index) drivers - including ones you have recently installed!

Mail in Yosemite won't let me add one Gmail account but does another

After upgrading to Yosemite, m girlfriend is trying to add her Gmail to the Mail app but when she fills in the credentials, it just resets back to the same credential screen. Her Hotmail worked and so did an attempt to add my Gmail account. Does this have something to do with her account? Or could it be that she has her Gmail set up on a different Mac machine? Please help!

After syncing and updating my iphone my iCalendar on my computer lost most of my information. Including wiping out an entire calendar group. When trying to readd the calendar group it won't let me add events to my calendar under that category.

Select an individual calendar in the calendar list, then create your events or to do items." Any help here would be greatly appreciated! hi i had the same problem today when i updated my itunes to latest version. however, i have just found my songs in the 'itunes media' folder. this was accessed through 'my music' then keep clicking through until you find itunes media and all my library songs were in there and i then just added these files to my library and all were restored however, i have lost all my playlists but at least my 700 songs are back. very dissapointed with apple that they have let this happen with their latest update, the previous version was miles better than this one . hope you find them. stevo

Just downloaded 10.7 and it won't let me add videos to iTunes.

Open Mail app and then click on Mailboxes(Left up)>Go down and select your Hotmail acoount and then try Refreshing by pulling down the list.

ICal-all events deleted and won't let me add new HELP!!

Recently I started my iCal and all my entries were gone. Not only that, but it won't let me add new entries no matter what I do. As well, my to do list on the right is blank and the space on the left where my calendars were listed before is also blank. If I go into my computer I can find the files from iCal with the information but they aren't showing up in iCal itself.

1. Can you associate this behavior with anything that you recently installed on your computer?
2. Are you using MobileMe, or any other sync software?
3. Do you have any backups such as Time Machine, or an iCal archive?
4. What calendars do you have listed in your sources pane?
5. Have you subscribed to any calendars?
6. Do you have an iPad or iPhone?
7. Where have you found the iCal files on your computer?
8. Have you attempted to repair disk permissions?
9. Try refreshing the iCal plist file. You will find the "com.apple.iCal.plist" file in your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences Folder. Quit iCal, and drag the .plist file to your Desktop. Then log out/in or restart.

windows 8 itunes won't let me add anything to iphone..apple community doesn't list the iphone as a product registered under my apple id, but the phone is listed on my authorized devices. any ideas? and do i need to get it to show as a registered product?

I have the same problem. I can't sync any apps or music on my iphone. I can't sync any music purchased through itunes on my ipod. I haven't even tried connecting my ipad for fear that it'll mess that up as well. I try to authorize my macbook but I get an error. The weird thing is that I am able to still play all of my purchased music through itunes so it seems that the authorization is at least somehow partially recognized.

What's more, it's absolutely ridiculous that there's no direct way of contacting Apple about this. In fact, as far as Game Center is concerned, there's no support network at all.

Won't let me add Dell 2330d Printer

When I try to add this printer it just crashes the add printer window in about 3 seconds. It sees the printer and then when i select it, then the whole window just closes automatically.
am on os x 10.5.8 and there are no updates available from apple software update.
I have tried
- old and newest drivers for this printer for os x from dell
- powering on, off computer and printer
- unplugging printer power totally for 15 seconds
- replaced USB cable with a shielded version
- reinstalling the drivers several times
The printer is brand new. I have had other printers connected with no problems (both epson though).

My iPhone 5s was just updated recently to 7.1.1. Now my calendar information got deleted and I can't add any events to my calendar. The button in the top right corner should be orange but it's grey and it won't let me add events when I try to click onit

You are on Windows 2000, you do not have a "Firefox" button, and should consider yourself to be fortunate in that you still have menus and don't have to do anything to get the menus back instead of the "Firefox" button. (The same applies to Windows XP users).
Use the "File" menu to get to Import. You are not on Windows 7 or Vista, and don't have to put up with the nonsense added for Aero.
If you want the "Firefox" button you can get it with View -> toolbars -> (uncheck) Menu Bar. The menu bar and the "Firefox" button were supposed to be mutually exclusive (which is impossible in some cases without being incompatible).
Once you are using the "Firefox" button ...
Use the "Alt" key to view the menu bar (temporarily) containing File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, and Help. On Windows 7 and Vista, the menu bar was hidden by default in Firefox 4 and above. These menu items are more or less available under the "Firefox" button which has the most used of the built-in Firefox menu items available in a different format.
To get back to having menus again. "Firefox" button -> Options (second column) -> (check) Menu Bar

Firefox won't let me add known but unsecure site as an exception.

Since reinitialising my Windows XP computer Firefox 11.0 refuses me access to a site that previously was acceptable. I use this site to book an online appointment at my health centre. I now get the message "this connection is untrusted" and am presented with just the "get me out of here" click box. There is no opportunity to add it as an exception.
Internet Explorer (which I am loathe to use) tells me that the certificate has a valid name and date, but that I have chosen not to trust the company. How do I get out of this? I can find no way to mark this sirte as trustworthy.

My main frustration (and hence concern) is that it is only since I was foolish enough to completely clean up my system that Windows XP &/or Firefox 11.0 won't let me access a site I have used successfully for years! I have taken a screen shot & you will see that I can only cancel the URL request. What has happened to the "I understand the risks" box?

I HAVE AN 8 YR OLD CANON IP90 PRINTER WHICH I HAVE SUCCESSFULLY INSTALLED ON MAC BOOK PRO OSX YOSEMITE 10.10.2.
I'VE TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO ADD THIS PRINTER BUT IT IS NEVER RECOGNIZED AND SO I'M UNABLE TO PRINT ANYTHING. CAN ANYONE GUIDE ME TO GET THIS SET UP AND PRINT?

HELPTODD, call Canon tech support and asked them where you can download from a driver for your printer.

IMovie 08 won't let me add more to project

I was working on my project and after adding some pictures and a few video clips, any time I try to add another clip/picture, it won't let me. I've just been clicking and dragging the pictures from my desktop and importing my videos from iTunes. It let's me select the video/picture, but when I go to drag it in the media box for the iMovie, it doesn't stay. Is there a limit on videos that maybe I reached?? Thanks so much! =]

all the "untitled" additional calendars appeared the next time I opened iCal.

Out of no where, itunes won't let me add music to my ipod touch.

I have itunes 10.4.1 and ipod is 4.2.1. Please help, this is so frustrating! It won't let me drag and drop and it won't work by right clicking either.

I had a similar problem recently after an update. Midway through the update, I got a user error that said I had to wipe the device and restore to factory settings. After I did that, I restored from a recent back up. When I did that it would not allow me to add recently purchased music to playlists on the device. I could not figure out how to fix this anywhere. Finally, in iTunes I clicked on my iTouch on the list on the right. Then in the big box on the left I clicked on summary. Then I scrolled to the bottom where "Options" was displayed. I clicked on "Manually manage music and videos" and then "apply". Suddenly, I could add music to my established playlists on my device! Hooray! Perhaps this happened to you and that box is unchecked? Good luck.
