Had a Sony Xperia Z3 on the contract and long story short; I'm on my second handset and even this one cracked in my pocket as well (both times with a case on). I forked out £180 for the repair the first time. Instead of fixing it they gave me a brand new phone, but a few weeks later this one also cracked in my pocket, and I have been using an iPhone 5 since that time that I acquired from a family member. For some reason I can't use the 2GB of 4G data that I am paying for on this iPhone. So I'm effectively forking out nearly £40 a month for unlimited calls & texts on an iPhone 5 with no data. I can't afford to keep paying £180 everytime Sony's poorly made "flagship" phone cracks in my pocket . Someone, for the love of all things good in this world. Help me. Someone, please, help me. P.S. If you hear anyone thinking of getting the Z3, warn them not to bother. Not only is it not as durable as Sony have made it out to be, the OS is incredibly buggy and flawed, causing apps to crash and the phone to turn itself off from time to time.

Where did you purchase it from? There are lots of iPhones sold as "unlocked" which are carrier locked phones that were hacked and are not officially unlocked. These phones are subject to re-locking to the original carrier, particularly when updated.

Having just upgraded my iPad to IOS 6 I can no longer log onto my 3G Carrier. I get thi message "Could not activate cellular data network. You are not subscribed to a cellular data service" what can I do to rectify this?
I reset APN settings from my carrier service site and rebooted but it didn't fix the problem.

Check to make sure cellular data is not disabled in settings. If it's on, try re-setting the phone. If that doesn't fix it, call AT&T.

what does this mean?
It means you are either
a) not subscribed to a data plan
b) your account is provisioned incorrectly
c) you are using an unsupported carrier whose data network is not compatible with the iPhone
or
d) you are completely out of range of your carriers data network.
If:
a) sign up for a data plan
b) call your carrier
c) call your carrier and try to work it out with them
d) go someplace where you get data coverage. -
I am trying to connect to the Internet when I am not in a wifi spot and I cant get it on... Any ideas? All my settings are switched on and same as mums phone which works. I am on Vodafone payg with an iPhone 4S. Thanks!
Where did you get the phone ? If you are on payg are you sure the phone isn't locked to another carrier ?

I now get this message since updating to iOS 5.01 - it won't work on my 3G anymore - anyone else have same issue and/or know how to fix it?!!!!
I changed my DNS settins so they point to OpenDNS DNS servers
On a Mac go to SYSTEM PREFERENCES>NETWORK>ADVACED>DNS
change DNS by adding ( + )
208.67.222.222
then
208.67.220.220
click okay/apply after. then try the update. after the update, just delete the two open DNS server numbers. should revert back to your old one. -
I activated my phone through AT&T using the new SIM card and am on contract that includes 10GB of data. Data IS enabled on the phone and it says I have 4G. It doesn't say I have LTE, and any time I try to use the internet without WiFi, I get this message. In addition, I can't send iMessages unless I'm on WiFi, but they send through my e-mail rather than my phone number. I've reset the network settings, done factory restores and restarted the phone plenty of times, but still nothing. AT&T told me to wait til morning as activation is slow at times, but that proved to be worthless as well. I also never updated to 8.0.1 because Apple took it down before I started my phone up. Does anyone have any idea why I'm having this issue? Could my SIM card be faulty?

I have spoken with them for hours and they say it's fine from their end and I've reset network settings, replaced my nano sim for my iPhone 5, restored my phone played with wifi on and off airplane mode on and off I don't know what else I can do. Please help me experts!
Under "settings / general / network" is your "Cellular Data" button set to "ON"?

Have just activated SIM card through vaya for my ipad3, iPad tells me I am not subscribed to a cellular network. Help! I have contacted vaya who tell me to contact apple, is there a setting that needs to be changed? My iPad shows that I have 3G service. The plan I have activated is a 4g data plan but it is meant to revert to 3G when 4G is not available. Any help would be much appreciated!

I Updated my wife's iPhone the other to the new operating system. It asked me first to use iCloud backup so I did. After the update was complete my wife can use wifi but when we try the 3G it says you are not connected to a cellular data service.
IT shows Bell as the provider but we seem to have lost something during this update.
can someone help me please.Check Settings>General>Cellular and make sure Cellular Data is set to On. If it is, try putting it in Airplane mode for 15 seconds, then turn Airplane mode off again. If it persists, give you carrier a call to confirm that it's properly activated with them and that your data plan is properly provisioned.
