You can turn off the 3D "glass" dock if you don't like it

I found this buried in a forum somewhere. I hate the 3D glass dock. I'm glad they allow you to turn it off, even if it is hidden. It worked for me. I like the black version a lot better.

Can you also turn it on if the dock's position is left or right?

  • Why the iphone and Ipad if you have a password and you try turning off the password does not ask you to turn it off?

my girlfriend stole his iphone 5 and could not find my iphone locate because they turn it off.
my question is, if the iphone 5 have a password to access does not ask why when I try to shut down?
apple should of IOS patching to ask for the password to turn off the device.

I see your point but if they are running iOS 7 on the iPhone they can locate it next time it is connected to the internet. Whoever has the iPhone cannot stop this without turning Find My iPhone off which requires the Apple ID password.
At some point in time that person will connect the iPhone to the internet and when they do the owner will have a location, if they restore the iPhone in recovery mode they won't be able to activate it so the iPhone will be useless to them.

  • Hah! You Can Turn Off The Load/Working Messages In Library

In View/View Options/Loupe View unchecking the "Show message when loading or rendering photos" will stop the annoying Loading/Working messages in the Library module, but not the Develop module.

Yes, it stops the annoying warnings, but it does not stop the vastly more annoying sluggish behavior. Now, instead of looking at the Loading/Working warnings, you will be focused on your image, waiting for it to snap into complete focus. You will note that the image "clarifies" in 2 stages, and that the final sharpness does not appear until the very last instant, in other words just when the the warnings used to disappear. After trying the disabled warning setting, I turned it back on. I would rather glance at the warning than focus on the image waiting for it to become sharp.

  • If my phone be stolen the stealer can turn off the phone without security code. Why?

If my phone be stolen the stealer can turn off the phone without security code. Why?

Because that's the way it is designed. If you don't like it, don't purchase an iPhone, or tell Apple you don't like it:

  • HT4865 How can you use find my iphone or find my friends on a ipod for a kid (daughter) but restrict who can see your personal calenders on their device. I realize you can turn off icloud. If ipod is lost, others can get your data by turning on icloud

I just purchased an ipod for my daughter. Since she is only 7 y/o she cannot create an icloud account. Therefore, I had to use my apple ID to create an icloud account on her ipod.  I would like to have find my iphone and friend finder on her ipod for tracking purposes.  The only problem is that all of my personal calender, notes, reminders etc get transferred automatically to her ipod which I don't want.
I turned off the icloud calender, notes, reminders etc on her device so that my data doesn't get transferred to her device now. My biggest concern is that if she loses her ipod someone could turn the icloud function back on and automatically get my data.
Is there anyway to be able use the tracking features yet protect my icloud from being turned on by a thief?

Password locks, Restrictions password protected or not anyone who gets your iPod can restore it to Factory Settings/New iPod.  This will completely disable Find My iPhone so that the iPod can no longer be tracked.  It is not a good idea to not use the lock password, because if someone get your iPod they can see all of your contacts, calendar entries email, email passwords, etc.

  • HT4413 I migrating from my macbook to new imac. nothing showed up until I turned off the imac but everything I had done previously on the imac disappeared.

I was migrating from macbook to a new imac.
Nothing showed up until I turned off the imac.
When I restarted the imac everythign I'd previously done was gome and the migrated macbook desktop had taken over.
How do I bring back the original imac settings.
    Thanks

You can't. When you migrate user accounts, those settings will be used. That's the point of migrating, not to have to reset things Peruse Pondini's Setup New Mac guide for details.
If you want to revert to the original user settings, create an new admin user account. That'll use the default user setup.

  • Apple must allow only owner can turn off iPhone by his password. Otherwise the thief can turn off the phone and run away, owner can not trace him.

I lost my iPhone 5 months ago. The thief just turned off my iPhoen and ran way. Even I set password for my iPhone but he can turn it off and of course I can not trace my iPhone by using FIND MY iPHONE. Apple should consider this situation. Thanks

    Tell Apple.

  • Turning off the setting where it shows you the clock?

Whenever I am listening to music, I usually just sit back and listen. And if I want to see more details about the song, I will just glance at the screen. But there is a clock there..? Why is there a clock? Just wondering... But anyways, is there any way to turn this off? Because it is so incredibly annoying.
    Thank You.

  • HT4623 I updated my ios to ios6 but what happen was it lock and can turn off the iphone?

i updated my ios to ios 6 it suddenly stop and the apple appeared and i can't turn it off

Reset, hold both Home and Power buttons for about 10 seconds until the iPhone begins to restart. If still problem, Restore iPhone on your computer. Open iTunes on computer, connect iPhone to compter with USB Cable, hold both home and power buttons for about 20 seconds until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode, click the Restore button of iTunes.

  • FlashBuilder deleting folders a bug or a feature that you can turn off???

In my project I have a directory called uploads,
when I compile flashBuilder is either deleting the folder, or simply not adding it as part of the project.
So when I run my app, it has problems because the directory isn't there.
    1. How do I tell FlashBuilder to compile that directory as part of the project

If a folder you added to the project is empty such as the libs folder, is empty, and then you export the project, if you delete it an import it that folder will not be there, so add a dummy file there.

  • How do you turn off the log file?

How can I turn off the log file for WLS? Don't want the added overhead
    of logging during performance tests.

The only way I know is:
    # startWebLogic.sh > /dev/null &
Only if you are running on unix.

I don't think you can turn off the system log file (weblogic.log). You can
disable the HTTP specific logging with the following:
