You cannot save data typed into this form

Hi,
I created a small interactive form using transaction SFP and I included this form into a WDA application.
The data I am pushing from the system into the form is visualized, but there is also an error message stating:
You cannot save data typed into this form.
Please print your completed form if you would like a copy for your records.
At first I thought something was wrong with my credentials, but after requesting new credentials this message still appears.
Does anybody know what is causing this message and how I can fix it?
Thanks
Mario

Hi.
1. Are you able to generate an interactive form with the save option through a report program or by WDJ or were you able to view an interactive form by any means with your current credential configuration -> i am asking this coz eventhough you have the right credential, cases can be that it is not properly installed. (check out the standard WDA examples)
2. try using ZCI and xACF layouts. (for ZCI generate the scripts)
3 . Check if the form properties is set to interactive form.
4. Check if you have the generated xml in the interface of your form.
Hope you have checked these already.
Rgds,
Anto.

  • Why do some people get "you cannot save data typed into this form" using FormsCentral fillable PDF?

    Hello.  We're using FormsCentral extensively.  We create the fillable PDF and send it to about 80 people.  Each of them is adding content and saving and then passing on to another person for further content.  Ultimately, all parties are happy with the content and submit.  The problem is that some of the people open the PDF and get the message ""you cannot save data typed into this form".  What is causing this?  Please help as it is causing us many problems.

    Thanks for the quick response.  We distribute the form to 80 people who fill it out and create 80 versions.  They then pass the form to one other person who edits.  All 80 forms, once complete, are submitted to FormsCentral.
    I think the problem is with Mac users.  Is there anything unusual about the Mac with Adobe Reader?  If you provide your email address, I can send you one of the filled out forms that is having this issue.  It's quite odd in that the fillable fields don't show up until clicked on and the form is not saveable.
    Thanks!

  • Pop up message "Please fill out the following form. You cannot save data typed into this form..."

    I'm using InDesign CS2 to add some functionality to a pdf. Mostly buttons that I've used to create links to pages inside the document.
    When I open the exported pdf I get the unwanted message above, with a little pink icon in upper left hand corner of Acrobat 9.
    Any way to get rid of this?
    When I save the document with the functionality turned off, it's not there. So obviously there is something amiss when the functionality is added back in. But I really have no idea.

    If you're only adding buttons with links, there is no reason to add any of the extra functionality for Reader users.
    Just create the links and make sure that you choose to include links when exporting from ID.

  • I cannot save data typed into an Adobe form sent to me..??

    I have been sent an Adobe Form that is a Tender Document that I need to complete.  When I open the Document is states in the top left-hand corner the following...."Please fill out the following form.  You cannot save data typed into this form.
    Please print your completed form if you would like a copy for your records."

    What does the creator of the file need to do to make the form fillable? OR is there a program Bob8527 can download to fill in the form and email?
    Please advise.

  • Data typed into this form will not be saved.  Adobe Reader can only save a blank copy of this form.

    This message is new.  I have never had this issue before on my system.  3 days ago I created a PDF using LiveCycle Designer ES2 at my office - exactly like I have done for the past 2 years - and now I get this message when I try to open the PDF on my home system.  I have always been able to work with these files until today.  Yesterday I installed Office 365 and now I apparently have Reader XI on my system.  Now every form I was able to open in the past will not allow data to save.  What's the deal?

    This is all odd as this form is designed explicity with digital signatures, and has always worked; hundreds of people have used this form extensively since late 2012, and I have tested it hundreds of times - it has always worked, never had this issue.  Unfortunately every PC in my home has Reader XI installed as of today (no Standard or Pro versions) and I will have to hunt for PCs that have only Reader (no Pro or Standard) at work.

  • How do I give user rights to save data entered into a form?

    I created a form in LiveCycle and open it using XI.  When I open the form, I can fill out the form but I can only print the form.  I have tried changing the security in Livecycle to allow users to save the form with their changes.  I have tried to distribute the form but it doesn't send.  I don't need the information sent back to me though.  This is a form that everyone in my department uses and saves to their local drives.  Any suggestions?

    You don't Reader-enable a form with Reader, you have to do it with Acrobat. Once the form is Reader-enabled with Acrobat, it will be savable with Reader. In Acrobat 9 you'd select:
    Advanced > Extend Features in Adobe Reader
    By the way, there is no Acrobat/Reader IX, though there is a version 9. They didn't start with the roman numerals until version 10 (X).

  • Saving date typed into a form

    Good evening.  I'm having trouble saving information in a form.  The form is from a DMV website.  When I save it, it shows me a page directing me to download a version of Adobe that I've already downloaded.

    Sorry, can you explain that in some other words - I simply cannot understand what you wrote.  You want to save, but it makes you download something...?
    Also, what is your operating system and Reader version?

  • Saving data typed into a PDF

    Hi folks,
    There's probably a million questions like this one but I can't concentrate enough right now to try to go through everything.
    I made a list in Excel, exported it as a PDF.
    Opened in Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro.
    Went through the Start Form Wizard, all worked nicely, put all my check boxes and fields in where I wanted.
    Save it - and then open it in Adobe Reader.
    "You cannot save data typed into this form.  Please print your completed form if you would like a copy for your records."
    After some careful googling, I discover to be able to make a form that is savable, I need Adobe LiveCycle.  So I scout around on my work computer and discover I do in fact have LiveCyle Designer ES 8.2.
    Now what?  I do not know what I'm meant to tick in this program to make my PDF savable by other people.
    I appreciate your time and patience!  Hopefully it's a super easy question and that I feel like an idiot for asking
    Kind regards,
    --Sasha

    Hi Sasha,
    Using Acrobat, you can create forms that are called AcroForms. The forms created in LC Designer are called XFA (XML Forms Architecture) and are more data centric. While both will open in Acrobat, they are completely different animals.
    The issue with users not being able to save the data with Reader is that the form is not Reader Enabled. You can Reader Enable a form using one of two methods:
    Reader Enable the form using Acrobat Professional (V8 or below) or Acrobat Standard (V9 or above). Note there are licensing restrictions.
    Reader Enable the form using the full server product Adobe LiveCycle Reader Extensions ES2.5. This involves additional licensing fees.
    Have a look here: http://assure.ly/etkFNU, at the features that are available depending on whether the user has Acrobat or Reader; if the form is Reader Enabled; and how the form was Reader Enabled.
    The issue of Reader Enabling would also apply to AcroForms.
    I don't think that you need to dive into LC Designer just yet, as forms created in LC Designer face the same issues about Reader Enabling as forms developed in Acrobat.
    If your usage complies with the EULA, then you could Reader Enable your form in Acrobat.
    Hope that helps,
    Niall

  • Error message: You cannot save a completed copy of this form to your computer.

    Hello,
    I created a PDF form in Acrobat Pro X and i am trying to distribute it by placing it on our shared drive so employees can take it from there and save it to their own computer.
    I tested the form with some employees that have Reader. Some can open it, save it, fill it in and submit it and others get this message when opening it:
    You cannot save a completed copy of this form to your computer. If you would like a copy for your records please fill it in and print it.
    I read some discussions that said to convert it to a binder, that didnt work either. i tried going to the advanced tab and extending the features to reader...nothing works.
    Please help.
    Thank you!

    Thank you for your help George. I placed a ticket with our IT department to have them check the system time on her machine. I'll let you know if it worked.

  • Cannot save data in form create in acrobat

    We have a form created in Acrobat 9 pro and it is setup so that it can be filled out and saved in Adobe Reader 11. We use this form on our small business domain and most of the time the form will save but lately we see an error that tells us very little just "Unexpected Error Occurred" and then no matter what you do you cannot save the form data. It's setup with a master form, then they save it individually by a new name. When this error occurs we just can't save it, nor can we print it! It's as if the data isn't there any more. I'm not sure what is happening but was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this.

    Hi,
    First of all, check the PDF producer of your form. Open Form in Acrobat -> Go to File -> Properties -> Look for PDF Producer in "Description" (Tab).
    1. If your form is created by Acrobat then Reader XI should be able to save the form.
    2. If it is created by LC Designer then you need extend the rights for Reader in the form.
    For Acrobat 9 Pro --
    Go to Advanced > Extended Features in Adobe Reader

  • Dynamic pdf up to 200 images, the size of pdf is larger, cannot save data and images to the form

    Hi all,
    My client would like to dynamic images up to 200 pictures to my forms. It is working fine. However, when I add images up to 35 images. I could not add images to the form any more. Then, I save data on the form. All images and data typed on the form are disappeared. I don't know reason.
    If I only add 10 images - I can save data and images on the form. The size of pdf is 15456 kb.  I was unable to  add more pictures or data on the form.
    Maybe there are problem the size of pdf? How much size can an dynamic pdf  limited?
    Can we save the information and images as much as we want?
    I have spent 2 weeks to work and try to figure out this problem. However it is not successful.
    Please help,
    Cindy

    You should ensure, that your users do not import big images.
    Therefore you can use a script on the change event of an image field which checks the data size and warns the user if the file is too big.
    function formatNumber(number) {
        var num = number + '',
        x = num.split('.'),
        x1 = x[0],
        x2 = x.length > 1 ? '.' + x[1] : '',
        rgx = /(\d+)(\d{3})/;
        while (rgx.test(x1)) {
            x1 = x1.replace(rgx, '$1' + ',' + '$2');
        return x1 + x2 + "KB";
    var sizeLimit = 200, //allow upto 200KB images
      thisSize = Math.round((this.value.oneOfChild.value.length * 3 / 4) / 1024);
    if (sizeLimit > 0) {
      if (thisSize > sizeLimit) {
      xfa.host.messageBox("Note: With " + formatNumber(thisSize) + " the size of the imported image is greater that the recommended maximum of " + formatNumber(sizeLimit) + ".\nLarge images can cause a insufficent performance.\n\nIf possible, use images with the following recommended specs:\nFormat:\t\tPNG or JPG\nColor depth:\t8 Bit (higher is not supported)\nColor space:\tRGB (CMYK is not supported)\nFile Size:\t\t" + formatNumber(sizeLimit), "Recommended image size exceeded", 3, 0);

  • You do not have permissions to access a database that contains data required for this form to function correctly.

    I have dropdown on infopath form , and it receives data from sql server table ,  it works fine when i am running in preview mode , but when i am publishing form to sharepoint server and loading that form
    i am getting this
    You do not have permissions to access a database that contains data required for this form to function correctly.
    Can you please help?
    Thanks,

    try this one, if not yet
    Convert the data connection to UDC (store it in a Data Connection Library within the same site collection as the form library).  See if this works without any other changes, but if not, then...
    Manually edit your UDC file in Notepad (or your preferred editor) so that the authentication line is not commented out and so that it references the name of the SSO target app you created.
    For Type, use NTLM.
    Ensure the user has rights to access the database
    Also ensure the connection file has been approved - A sharepoint admin can access a non approved Ucdx file. Go to the connection library and approve the file
    Also check this post having the similar issue:

  • Importing XML Data Back into the Form

    I have a form that shows several subforms based on the selections the user has made while filling in the form. This is working quite well but when I import the XML data back into the form it doesn't show the subforms that have been used.
    Is there an easy way to change this?
    Thanks in advance!
    Emma

    Actually the issue may actually have to do with the fact that the connections aren't bound, but I haven't seen the data.
    I have some fairly complex forms that include both subforms and instances, have an XSD embedded and export as XML. When I import the data, everythi
    Now, that being said...
    Are your subforms "hidden" and you opt to display them upon selection of a radio button for example, or do you SetInstances()? If you're using visible=TRUE or FALSE, that may also cause some issues.
    Try this -- on Form:ready try this code:
    if(this.rawValue == "on"){ //this radio button 1
    _subform1.setInstances(1);
    _subform2.setInstances(0);
    _subform3.setInstances(0);
    else if(this.rawValue == "on"){ //this radio button 1
    _subform1.setInstances(0);
    _subform2.setInstances(1);
    _subform3.setInstances(0);
    else if(this.rawValue == "on"){ //this radio button 1
    _subform1.setInstances(0);
    _subform2.setInstances(0);
    _subform3.setInstances(1);
    else { // this is fisrt time open -- i sometimes had issues with subforms being visible on first entry
    _subform1.setInstances(0);
    _subform2.setInstances(0);
    _subform3.setInstances(0);
    Then on:Click essentially copy most of the code you put in form:ready
    if(this.rawValue == "on"){ //this radio button 1
    _subform1.setInstances(1);
    _subform2.setInstances(0);
    _subform3.setInstances(0);
    else if(this.rawValue == "on"){ //this radio button 1
    _subform1.setInstances(0);
    _subform2.setInstances(1);
    _subform3.setInstances(0);
    else if(this.rawValue == "on"){ //this radio button 1
    _subform1.setInstances(0);
    _subform2.setInstances(0);
    _subform3.setInstances(1);
    Of course this will go on top of your radio button group.
    If you are exporting to XML, it will make your life a whole lot easier, by the way, to import an XSD and bind your nodes, especially as your forms and data start to get more complex.
    Finally, you may also know this but -- unless you have Forms Server, any user that wants to export the data or import the data will need to have at least full Acrobat Professional. If you want people to be able to save data in the form but import/export isn't that important, they will need to have full Acrobat.
    I hope that helps a bit. Good luck!

  • Acrobat 9 pro. Letting people save data typed in Reader

    I am evaluated Acrobat 9 pro for purchase. One of the key features I am looking for is create a form and letting people save data typed in in Aobe Reader.
    I looked and tried all the different security features and can't seem to be able to do it.

    The whole concept of forms with Acrobat is that you have the ability to save, as does anyone else with Acrobat. Those with Reader have the ability to fill out the form, print it, and submit data, but the saving is an additional feature that Adobe charges for. Starting with AA8 (I think that was the first), Adobe started allowing up to 500 copies to be saved with User Rights, an option in Acrobat. However, if you exceed the 500, then the idea is that you need to be paying for that additional feature. I am not arguing for or against this model, but this is the current deal.
    With AA9, I think that some of the options might have changes and the license restrictions might be different. The information should be in either the HELP file or the EULA.
