"You do not have sufficient authority for the step" - Help!
Hi everybody!
I was just sitting, listening to music and suddenly I get this message from iTunes saying:
"iTunes-libraryfile can not be saved. You do not have sufficient authority for the step."
(it's translated from Swedish so it might not be what you with a english version would see)
I am the administrator (even made that sure by using the control userpasswords2 i run) so I have the highest authority (or have I?). I had an other problem before that was that I iTunes wouldn't quit but it turned out to be the antivirus software that mad me a mess (and still does).
I haven't yet updated to 7.02 but I'm running on 7.01. I'm going to update now but you can still give me explanations and solutions to my problem.
Oh yeah the question (if you haven't got it yet),
what should I do so the "You do not have..." doesn't come up and how to sole it (maybe the same thing I don't know :P)?
Antivirussoftware: Norman Antivirus
Many thanks!
Waldemar

In trying to update to Firefox 3.6.11 on an intel mac g5, I get this message: the operation cannot be completed because you do not have sufficient privileges for some of the items -- any suggestions? thanks!
You can try to repair the permissions for the Firefox application files and folders.
You can also do this:
* Download a new copy of the Firefox program: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html
* Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re)install.
* Install the new version that you have downloaded.

I have recently dropped Earthink as me dial-up provider. I now am using Virgin Mobile Broadband2GO. I was using Safari. I am now using Yahoo! Mail Plus. It suggested I switch to Firefox. I had an older version of Firefox (2.0.0.6) and started using it. It suggested I needed to upgrade because many of the newer web sites wouldn't work well on this older version. I downloaded the newer version and proceeded with the installation and it would tell me this: '''The operation cannot be completed because you do not have sufficient privileges for some of the items.''' I have re-downloaded and tried it again two more times. I haven't a clue what that means or what to do about it.
If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop
* Firefox 6.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
* Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
* Install the new version that you have downloaded

I have created a slide show with pictures and music in Iphoto and when I try export it I get Error You do not have sufficient permission for this operation. Try to export to an external HD attached, all help would be gratefully received
Have you ever successfully saved anything to that external drive? My first two thoughts are that the drive isn't formatted for the Mac or that you don't have rights to save to the drive.

Download a new copy of the Firefox program: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html
Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean reinstall.

I am running 10.5.8 on a quad core 3.0 GHz Mac Pro. Have 2 GB RAM, and 2TB Hard drive with 538 GB space remaining. Have never had this dialog happen before.
I assume you are attempting to install a newer version of Firefox?
It seems the solution is:
# Download a new version of Firefox to your Desktop.
# Delete the current version in your Applications folder.
# Install the newly downloaded version.
Note: Your bookmarks and other data will not be affected.

Everything seems to go as planned according to the steps on the screen except for the last one dragging the icon over the file folder.
Download the new version you want with other browsers like IE (Windows), Safari (Mac) and remove the last version. Then install the package you downloaded.
Here you can download version 6.0: [http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html Download]
Also for older versions: [ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/ Here]. -
The previous version of Firefox is still on and operational. I get this message when I try to drag the Firefox icon to the application file icon. Since this is my computer, and I am the administrator, I don't know what privileges I lack, or on which items. If there is a way to correct this I would like to do so and activate the new version. It looks like the new version is 7.0.1 for Mac OS. This happens everytime I try to load the new version by dragging the icon.
If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the disk image (dmg) file to the desktop

What can I do to resolve this annoying problem?
VinceTom:
I finally backed up the iPad to the laptop and deleted everything on the iPad and restored from back up. That cured the problem.

Planning Sequence error - You do not have sufficient authorization
Hello Experts,
I am encountering the following error during execution of my planning sequence:
You do not have sufficient authorization
Message no. EYE007
Diagnosis
You do not have sufficient authorization for the requested data records.
Procedure
Either select other data or get the required authorizations from your administrator.
Can anyone please suggest me what could be the possible cause of this error and how can I overcome it?
Thanks in advance,
Nitish.
Edited by: Nitu_0105 on Jan 12, 2012 11:54 AMCheck the planning level on which planning sequence is based for values restriction.Looks like values for which it is been restricted you are not authorized or Roles assigned to you are not restricted with values in planning level.
Also check if level is been restricted with any variable on which authorization is been restricted. Some are user specific example specific business area are assigned to only some users ...so you need to add your user ID to those variable. -
