  • Error message: sending failed because you exceeded your sending limit

I can't send any more e-mails from my iphone 4S anymore. The message I get reads: A copy has been placed in your outbox. Sending failed because you exceeded your sending limit. My contract offers unlimited data so that can't be the problem. The problem occurred after I tried to send a photo with an address change notification to about 50 addressees from my addressbook. I have deleted that mail from my outbox but can still not send any mails.
    Thanks for your help

    Hey Hall-K,
Since you have deleted the message and are still experiencing issues sending email, I would check out the following article and follow the troubleshooting steps within (which I pasted below):
iOS: Unable to send or receive email
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3899
If you are unable to send or receive email, try the following steps:
    Restart the iOS device.
Tap Safari and attempt to load a webpage to ensure that the device has Internet access. If you're unable to load a webpage, try the Wi-Fi assistant.
    Try an alternative Internet connection.
If your email is provided by your Internet provider, try connecting from the home network.
If your iOS device has an active cellular data plan, try to disable Wi-Fi:  Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn off Wi-Fi.
If not, try a different Wi-Fi network.
Log in to your email provider's website to ensure that the account is active and the password is correct.
Delete the account from Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and then add the email account again on the iOS device.
    Hope that helps,
    David

  • TS3276 "message failed because you have exceeded your sending limit."  Has anyone seen this before & what does it mean?

What does this mean?  Has anyone seen before?

Most e-mail servers impose limits on how many messages you can send per day and how many different e-mail addresses you can send messages to per day. This is a measure to prevent spam, and you're unlikely to hit those limits unless you're sending messages to a very large group of people. Generally, those limits are somewhere in the hundreds.
If you haven't been sending that much e-mail, or to that many recipients, then your e-mail account may have been hacked and used to send spam. See:
Someone is sending messages from my e-mail address!

  • Error message when sending mail : sending the message failed because you have exceeeded your sending limit"

I was trying to email a link from a webpage I loaded in safari.  The email sits in my outbox with a red exclamation point.  WIll not send.  Keeping getting an error message sending the message failed because you have exceeded your sending limit

"I keep getting a "you have exceeded your limit" on my email."
No explanation, makes no sense, it's happening with others.
I have to change (in my outgoing/unsent folder) my sending address from .mac to me.com. After reading the following helpful post:
To get outbox individual mails sent, Try going to outbox, opening each email to edit and change sending email to [email protected] by clicking arrow in from line.  If [email protected] account does not show, go to settings > mail > icloud account > add "[email protected]"  And, until this issue is resolved, set mail to send from [email protected]
(and you should be using smtp.mail.me.com)

"If you exceed your iCloud storage limit, photos and videos won't upload to iCloud, and your library will no longer stay up to date across your devices."  Really?  Can't we support the existing "last 1k photos will be available in the cloud" model?  If we don't do this, won't this kill auto-sync of new photos from iOS devices to our libraries on our Macs (if the Mac's Photos app has auto syncing with the cloud turned on) once we go over our 5gb limit?  I have 350GB of photos in my Mac Photos library - I am not going to pay $20/month for 1tb iCloud storage.  Please advise, Apple.  Thank you.

I agree and am baffled by this also.  At first I was really excite about this new feature.  Mostly because I would be able to seamlessly sync videos along with my PhotoStream.  I just assumed there would be some systematic way to handle large libraries.  Like removing older files as the current PhotoStream does.  However, it appears that this new feature will simply 'shut down' when you reach your storage limit.  This just makes no sense to me.  I would have to double check, but I have all my photos and videos in iPhoto and stored on a 3 TB external hard drive and I think the full library is over 1 TB.  So, even if I was willing to pay $20 a month for photo syncing (which I am not) I couldn't do it because my library is too large.  Again I am just baffled why Apple cannot blend this new service with the existing PhotoSteam model.  My favorite aspect of PhotoSteam is that is uploads all my iPad and iPhone Photos to my Mac for permanent storage and it seems this is lost in the new version.

    Hi,
Please post output of  query provided by Olaf. I guess you have connected to Express edition( 2008 r2/2012/2014) and since database has limitation of 10 G hence you got this message. Please double check

I can't send email. I get message that I have exceeded my sending limit. What do I do?

Here is the reply from verizon:  this issue is due to temporary outage from Verizon's end.
We have already escalated this matter to our experts and they are working on it.
We apologize for the inconvenience; However HSI services in your area are down and not working. We have temporary technical issues. Please do not worry and do not make any changes in your setup, it is down for almost every HSI connection in your area.

  • HT4863 What can I do if I have "exceeded the sending limit" but I personally haven't sent more than 3  emails. How do I fix it?

How do you fix email message sending limit when the email account has been spoofed?

Spoofed or hacked? It's easy for someone to forge your address as the 'From' address, but that wouldn't involve using the iCloud server and your account and would have no effect on your limit.
If you have actually been hacked, so that someone has been sending using your account, then you need to change your password immediately to something really strong and unguessable. If they have taken you over your limit you will have to wait 24 hours after which you should be able to send again.

I have been unable to sedn messages from my icloud account now for several days. I have not exceeded the daily limits for receving or sending messages. I am not sure where to go from here to resolve the issue.

The daily limits are shown here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4863.  If you haven't exceeded this but your email is still being disabled, you would have to contact iCloud support for assistance: http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/.

  • HT1430 Error message - exceeded send limit for iCloud account- when I did not exceed limit

I can not send any email mesages from my iPhone 4 using my icloud account.  Every time I send a new message it copys to my outbox and an error message states - "A copy has been placed in your Outbox. Sending the message failed because you exceeded your sending limit." I researched the limites for an iCloud account and I have not come close to the uper limites - HELP!

    Hello JC,
I would check out this section of the article named iCloud: Mailbox size and message sending limits found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4863
If you continue to exceed message sending limits, try the following methods to resolve the issue:
Check your Mail Outbox to see if it contains a backlog of messages. Resend or delete messages here that may be continuing to try to send.
Check to see if you have any network monitoring software that might be using your iCloud account to automatically send messages, such as firewalls or internet security software configured to send an alert when a potential security issue is detected.
If you send messages to groups, make sure all email addresses in the group are valid. (For example, is the recipient's email address spelled correctly?
    Take care,
    Sterling

HT4863 Re: on IOS states "A copy has been placed in your Outbox. Sending the message failed because you exceeded your sending limit.". This is not true is was the third email that I sent. Whats the problem here
Jun 11, 2013 10:01 AM (in response to hooptycam)
This happened today out of the blue. I was having problems with my Yahoo account stalling on my iMac so decided to change over to iCloud...
After sending the first email sucessfuly telling everyone of the change I got "The sender address [email protected] was rejected by the server p05-smtp.mail.me.com"
After much frustration and time I eventually set up a new outgoing server...
Mail/Preferences/Accounts/Outgoing Mail Server SMTP / (drop down select) Edit SMTP server list/ +new and double click and enter 'smtp.mail.me.com'/ then select Advanced tab/ check, use default ports/ check use SSL/Authentication - Password/ enter username and password/click okay to retuen to Preferences/Select 'smtp.mail.me.com...etc' as outgoing mail server and select TLS com.apple...etc certificate /Save
This has cured the problem for me, but seems like a bit of a farce really.
On iPad and iPhone it's pretty much the same deal but it's slightly different.
    Settings/iCloud/Account/Advanced/Mail (allow sending from [email protected]) / Outgoing Mail Server/Primary Server (set to off)/Add server/Host Name - enter 'smtp.mail.me.com' /username & Password/SSL set to On/Authentication - set to Password/Server port 587
All of this worked for me so I hope I save someone the same headache I had ALL DAY! So freakish that this ahppened to a all deivces in one day unless there is a coms problem with Icloud here, but everything else works...I hope...
    Neale
