So many questions come up time and again (e.g. I've just spotted the old .EXE question).

about it.The problem is the "we" does the discussing. As long
as "we" doesn't include Sun, nothing will happen. And
Sun won't come out and play with the dirty kids.Yeah I figured that much. I really think they have mods just browsing the forums and laughing their asses and actually keep this shit around for their daily entertainment. They probably have "Funniest Post of the Week!" posted up in their offices every Friday where employees walk by and laugh at how pathetic this is.

Can I get some help with CF8 and Unix from this forum?
I did my dev in my local machine running windowsXP and CF8
In prod. environment, my CF8 runs in Unix and I'm not familiar with Unix at all.
My manager is out for awhile and I want to do this if I could without waiting for him because in windows it is very simple.
Here is what I did in windows and I think I should do the same in unix but unfortunately I don't know how:
In Windows environment I have done the following successfully and easy:
1. installed/moved a .exe file in 2 folders: 1. in cfx folder under Coldfusion8 folder and
2. and again in CFClasses folder under WEB-INF folder
2. Then in CF8 administrator I went to SERVER SETTINGS >> Java and JVM >> under ColdFusion Class Path, I put: c:\Coldfusion8\cfx\cfx_myexe.jar >> submit
3. Under CFX Tags >> clicked REGISTER Java CFX >> I put: cfx_myexe in Tag Name and the same in Class Name >>submit
Then when I go to my application, everything work as a charm!
How can I do these things in Unix?
When I logged into CF server in unix using my FTP FileZilla, I immediately see /space/users/www , so I'm in the root directory. I can't see anything above this directory
In windows, CFX is found under ColdFusion8 folder AND cfclasses is found under WEB-INF folder like this:
C:/ColdFusion8/www/WEB-INF/cfclasses
All my CF files for the application are on C:/Inetpub/www/myfolder/
So my questions are:
1. How can I access point 1 using my FTP to move my exe file to the right folders
2. Since I don't have CF administrator interface with Unix, how can I do point 2 and 3 above????
I have searched on this forum if someone had this problem in the past and also googled it but I got no result.1) If the account you use to FTP to the site does not give you permissions to the ColdFusion instlation directories, you will need to ask permission from whomever in your organization provides those permissions.
2) You would run the same ColdFusion administrator tool. It is usually located at yourwebsite-domain/cfide/administrator/
If it is not located at this location, you need to ask whomever controls your ColdFusion server where it is located and how you should access it.
In otherwords, these are not general problems that we can help you with much. These are specific problems dealing with your organizaiton and how it has configured its systems and network. -
My macbook pro freezes and then displays a blue screen with black stripes... do you know what's wrong with it?
I have a two and half year mac book pro... I've had some issues with the screen looking scrambled when I quit certain applications, but now it's turned into something worse. I'll be working on my computer and the thing will freeze. When I force restart, the first screen, the apple logo, will be a blue tint and won't boot up normally. Then I try safe mood and it will then boot just fine. But there are blue stripes on my screen. The screen alternates from a blue tint to normal and if the computer freezes again the screen will become completely blue with black stripes. I haven't tried reinstalling my software because I don't have the startup discs that came with my computer. If I was sure that would fix it I would purchase them, but if it's a hardware issue I'm afraid that I'm screwed. I've been able to successfully get the blue off my screen by putting it to sleep and then waking it up, but that's not working well anymore either.
Does anyone else have experience with this? Is it the firmware or what? I have a MacBook Pro from early 2011 and I'm running Mac OS X 10.6.8.
Please help... Thanks!I just experienced this exact same issue with my early 2011 15" macbook pro. Since like a month after purchasing it I had issues with the screen randomly going dark on me. I sent it in for repair inder waranty they replaced the gpu and logic board but I continued to have the same issues with the screen randomly going black sometimes I would need to reboot it in order to get the screen to go back on but it happened so infrequently and I used the computer for school so disnt find the time to resend it in to apple. Just last night the screen started to display the blue screen with black verticle lines on it. I called apple and explained to them the issues that had been ongoing since I purchased the laptop but they said because I was now outside of warantee that any repairs at thia point wouldn't be covered. Fml so glad I spent 2200 on this future proof macbook pro what a joke my sister purchased a toshiba laptop for 300 4 years ago and it still running like a champ. I loved my macbook but at the price I paid I expect it to last longer than 2 years before leaving me high and dry. *** apple??

If you deleted them from both PhotoStream and the camera roll, and you don't otherwise have them backed up, they're gone.

Ok so I am having issues with charging my iPad as well. So I took advice from this forum and yes, if you turn the brightness down my iPad charges. Thanks Apple I just went and spent money on a new charger I didn't need. Really you need to fix this issue.

To be completely honest, FCPX is a RAM hog. It just is. But, RAM is relatively cheap, and the pay-off is good.
4GB is right on the edge, IMHO. 16G is ideal.

I have a Sony DCR-SR32 HDD video camera which does not appear in the list of compatible cameras for imovie '11. Does anyone know if there is way of importing video from this camera to imovie ?

That appears to be a hard drive based camecorder. Usually these mount on the desktop of your computer as a little white hard drive icon. If you go inside you should be able to find the movie files the camera is saving. See what format they are (the last 3 letters at the end of the file name is a good place to start).
You can drag the movie files from the camera hard drive to the computer to copy them. Then convert them with a video file conversion program to a format iMovie can understand.
Try converting one of the files using a video file conversion program like Video Monkey: http://videomonkey.org/downloads/
In the "Convert to" drop down menu choose "DV" (Preferred), "Quicktime", or "MP4". Then import the resulting file into iMovie and see if that works any better.
If that program can't convert the files you can try another file conversion program:

They will ignore it as they are ignoring the Oracle documentation, ignoring the search facility of these forums, and ignoring the ability of Google to find answers. Never mind ignoring netiquette and claiming that their problems are so critically urgent that we have no choice but to stop doing the work we get paid for immediately, and jump to it, assisting them for free.
The only thing that makes an impact in this regard is the old lead pipe. That needs to be swung hard at such times to clearly point out what is not acceptable. -

Thank youWifi is wifi (generally) and you should be able to take your american bought device (presuming that's what you mean) to europe and get it online.
The biggest issue you may face is to make sure you have a plug adapter. Your power brick is rated for world wide power variances you'll just need an adapter to make the plug fit eurpoean plugs. -

When I set up the subordinate CA where I am seeing this error message (when attempting to make a request via the web interface for a Linux client - Group Policy not possible here) I opted to not "Load Default Templates".
Just FYI, PKI View shows "OK" for everything.
Permissions on the template are Read and Enroll for Authenticated Users.
Issuance Requirements are "CA certificate manager approval" (checked) - nothing else checked. "Same criteria for enrollment".

Having tried this on a second CA, it seems that you might have to change the NTLM and App Pool settings.
I simply duplicated a template (2003) and thought I was all set.
Not at all.
I had to play with the Provider priority (put NTLM above negotiate) and use "Network Service" for the Default App Pool identity.
Then it finally worked.
Yes, an iisreset /noforce after each change.
I'm not sure why this is so complicated.
Maybe someone from Microsoft could explain what is going on here.
This is documented nowhere. You have to proceed by trial and error until you get the right combination.

Problems with a mailto link from a button

I am trying to create a mailto link from a button within a page which will also pass several variables. Everything is working well until it comes to generating the body of the message. I can generate content in the body but if I add a new line into it (using %0A or %0D) the link stops working. Remove the offending hex and it works fine. Does anyone know how to pass a new line within the body of a mailto link. For detail the link is shown below

Problem with using database link from oracle 7 to oracle 9i

I have two oracle database oracle 7.3.4.0.1 and oracle 9i 9.2.0.1.0.
and the tns alias to connect to oracle 9i database is oracle9i and tns
alias to oracle 7 database is oracle7.I have no problem in connect to
these database using these tns aliases from either database.The tns
alias for oracle 7 is available in tnsnames.ora file of oracle9i and
tns alias for oracle 9i is available in tnsnames.ora file of oracle 7.
So there is no connection problem from each other.Connection is
working fine for each other but the problem with database links is

I hated the fact that I was forced to register for this forum, then wait 12 hours, then log in, just to enter this forum. And many people never manage to register. See http://forums.oracle.com/forums/search.jspa?threadID=&q=register+XE+private+forum&dateRange=all for examples. I wish this forum was opened to the public. If you, too, were annoyed by this, please say so. Hopefully the moderators will see this and will open the forum to the public.
What do you all think of the registration requirement for this forum?Also, some questions to the moderators:
1. Why do you force users to register?
2. Why don't you post the registration instructions in a public place? (This would assist users who can't find the link to register because they are having trouble installing Oracle XE or other such problems.)
3. Why doesn't your forum software automatically approve registration requests immediately?
4. Why do you force users to log in before they enter the forum? (Many system administrators and DBAs use one of a large variety of different email addresses / passwords, depending on the situation. This makes it far harder for them to remember the proper email/password combination to use when logging in.
