Is there a setting you can set to let you know you have a tex msg? I use to have the Droid 3 and a light would blink if I had a text msg or email.

No there is not other than a sound setting, vibrate or both (i think). I had this same thought the other day after just coming over from a droid as well but when you think about it, doesn't matter much. With my droid, if the light was blinking I would check, but most often it would be a spam or garbage email. With this phone it has no light but a click of the home button and I can see what messages or emails or whatever are there. If I am close enough to see a light, I'm likely close enough to click the button, and because of my nature, I'm going to click the button and look...lets face it. Essentially the same thing with either phone...if I think there might be something I'm looking for it!
I also believe certain things can be set up to repeat notification until you clear it. So if you miss the initial sound or vibration or what have you, it would alert you again.

I just had this long involved thread about the appropriateness of the XML format for the ant tool config file, as well as the general question of the use of ant at all. Of course jschell came down on the anti-ant side of things (I suspect as a more of a "devil's advocate" position) and things got a little heated, you know how it is. If you go to phone settings-> phone infor. -> icon glossary -> service alert, and then you'll see a small icon of a person where it says voice mail. My phone is Samsung gusto so it may be different from yours but i would assume the overall location may be similar.

He foolowed instructions to redeem value on his ipod touch and when he downloaded a song, we were notified that credit card connected to itunes account was billed for that value.

As for you actual question about texting on an iPhone, it should be reasonably easy to work out how to do it if ytou are already familiar with texting on phones.

That is not a feature of the iPhone (or of any phone I've ever had). It seems to be a Nokia thing as it's always past users of Nokia phones who ask about it. With my carrier, there is a beep at the end of every ring it the person is already on the call but no indication on the phone itself.

Is there any way to stop my I phone 4 telephone key pad disappearing during a phone call - you know you listen to the options and when you come to press the number the key pad is missing.

Every time I make a call involving chosing options I loose my keypad so I cannot enter the numbers quickly enough...so they keep telling me again what to do -its so frustrating. Have i set somrthing up for a time delay ?

This happens to me as well. The keypad does not stay on until the end of the call, it goes out as soon as you bring your hand to it. Sometimes I can type a key, mostly not. I can never type a 4 during a call. Given the prevelance of phone trees when calling a business this makes the phone as useless as an old rotary pulse phone. I hope this issue gets some attention, or my next phone will not be an iPhone.

Do you know why imovie11 would crash when inserting cutaways?

Every time I place a cutaway into imovie11 it crashes and re-opens is there a patch for this? I have only just downloaded (2 days ago) the most recent update.

try a reset, hold down the home/power button until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up. Then check MMS.

When do you know you have a problem with your phone and dropped calls?

My iphone 4 hasn't really been a problem but I've noticed and all the people who call me notice that my phone is dropping a lot of calls. It's almost dropping every other call, and that is awful should I go back to the store and take it back? I don't want to waste anyone's time or should I be angry. I try not to get ****** over a phone but my 3GS never did this.

You have 30 days to decide. Albuquerque has good to moderate 3G coverage. It is possible that ATT has again been overloaded with a mass of new phones and may need to make adjustments to their service. I am lucky to live in S Florida where coverage is great. However, if your coverage was marginal to begin with you may have trouble. I would let it sort itself out by July 24 the 30 day mark for most and decide than. The only thing to be mad about is not being able to have the phone you want at this time. In spite of what appears to be a large vocal group on this forum, who are really have problems, most of the 1.7 million phones are not. Again see what plays out in your 30day trial and make your decision accordingly.

You know the sound iTunes makes when it's done converting your files?

It's like a 5 second little song. It plays it I think after importing a CD or converting files form .wma and stuff. Is that sound file on my computer somewhere or embedded into iTunes, and is there a place I can download it if it's not already on my computer?

I think it's embedded into iTunes, and I doubt there is a place where you can find that sound to download.
