YOU LIED ABOUT KEEPING PHONE NUMBER CONFIDENTIAL

YOU LIED ABOUT KEEPING PHONE NUMBER CONFIDENTIAL SIGNING UP FOR SMS ACCOUNT. MY PHONE STARTED RINGING OUT OF THE POCKET 20 MINUTES LATER, ALL TELEMARKETERS CALLING FOR MY SCREEN NAME. ITS' THE 1ST AND ONLY TIME I GAVE IT OUT ON THE NET. DON'T TRUST THESE GUYS WITH YOUR REAL NUMBER, OR YOU'LL HAVE TO CHANGE IT AND NOTIFY ALL OF YOUR REAL WORLD CONTACTS. THE SYSTEM I SIGNED UP WITH WAS RADIO OFF, HARD WIRED THROUGH A FIREWALLED ROUTER, FIREWALLED COMPUTER, ALL OUTGOING DATA BLOCKED EXCEPT BROWSER.

What did you expect form a company that actively participates in assisting the NSA/CIA with spying on all users of its software?

  • Cancel contract, keep phone number

We have two lines with Verizon.  Due to the economy we have to discontinue being a part of the Verizon community.  Phone number 1 (cheapy flip phone), completed contract in Feb 2014, phone number 2 is a personally owned iPhone 5 and is willing to pay the $175 to end the contract.  I know phone number 1 will be able to keep phone number but what about phone number 2.  I love Verizon however, the representatives when consulting with the Verizon store have not been completely honest with my in the past.  I cannot afford to have this happen again.  Can someone advise me on this, someone who really knows, is honest and does not work for Verizon just for a buck.  PLEASE

    Hello brianwendy007,
While your original posting requested a response from a non-Verizon employee, our commitment to your wireless happiness is what made me compelled to answer. You are too important to us to not provide any assistance. I have to ask, what's the reason for wanting to leave? While you stated that it was due to economical issues, we do have options available that I'm sure that you will love. If you are interested then please send me a private message so we can discuss. I took the liberty of following you so we can begin.
    Thank you...

How do you capture an answered phone number in contacts ?

When you look at your call history in the phone app, you see the number that you want to add, and press on the small right arrow on the right. It will show you a new page where you can simply create a new contact or add it to an existing one.

  • I keep getting a message about my phone number being used for iMessage on a new iPhone. How can I see what devices are using my iMessage account and phone number?

The message "Your phone number is now being used for imessage on a new iPhone" Keeps appearing on my macbook pro. It also says "If you just activated iMessage on a new iPhone, you can ignore this alert." But the only option is to ignore the alert, because the only thing I can do with it is click "ok" and dismiss it. Is there a way I can look at a list of the devices using my iMessage account, and if there are devices that I don't recognize on that list, how can I block them from using my account?

Hi If you have another Apple  device check on that screen & accept. Cheers Brian

  • How to keep phone number on prepaid plan if you drop service for 1-2 months and then resume?

Impossible to get thru to Verizon chat for over 8 hours!  :-(
When I signed up for prepaid plan on Iphone (49 monthly, no annual contract), I was told I could keep my phone number even if I dropped service for a month or two.  Verizon would charge $100 to 'reserve' my phone number, so I would not lose the number - so they would not recycle it out to another phone.
I don't see where to pay the $100 and for this payment to be used for reserving the number so I dont lose it.  Iff I add $100 it just looks like I paid for 2 months, I dont see a way for this to be applied to keeping the number.  It would just be applied to the monthly amount.
And there is no way to get a live person on Chat :-(
Would really appreciate your help pls.
    Loads of thanks,

At $49/month, I do not see the difference between just paying your monthly costs for 2 months and not using the phone or paying $100 to reserve your number. The end result is the same, but in the first you could always start using the phone if you needed it.
$100 to reserve a number for 2 months is just ridiculous.

  • Does ios6 allow you to block a phone number from being received in the future?

I know that previous versions of iOS did not provide the ability to block a phone number in the "Call History" menu from ever being received again, but what about iOS6?

    Hey Paul,
Michael is right, you can easily get around it by simply assigning a silent ringtone.
Google "silent ringtone" (don't pay for it, you can find it free) and download it. I've created an "Annoying Cr@p"
"contact" that I've assigned the silent ringtone to and I simply cut and paste the numbers I want blocked into it.
No more salesmen, political party calls, etc.- the phone does light up when they call, but you hear nothing- and usually miss them all together.  I've assigned a nice little image of a stuffed dog pooh to it (google "poop toy"), and when someone does see it (as one of my co-workers saw it light up on my desk once) it makes for a *great* laugh.
Works like a champ.  Takes minutes.

  • Keep phone number

My wife has a prepaid cell phone right now with verizon.  We are looking to upgrade for her.  If I add my wife's phone to my account and get a family plan, can she keep her current number?

To transfer your wife's number from prepaid to post pay the phone number and phone will need to have been active on prepaid for 6 months before they will allow it to be moved over. If the number has been active for 6 months, but the phone has not you'll be required to get a new phone.

  • Stop paying for service, reserve/keep phone number?

Can I stop using and paying for one phone's service, yet reserve/keep the same phone number for when I want service again?

Good morning wejones and thank you azsaluki for your feedback.
wejones, this is a very good question! I'm happy to help clarify this for you. You have the option to suspend your line for up to 90 days as Vacation Suspend. Each time you suspend there is a $15.00 fee, and you're allowed to suspend up to 2 times back-to-back, which is 180 days. If you suspend with billing, you will still be charged the monthly access fee for that line while suspended, and the contract end date will not change. If you suspend without billing, you will not be charged the access fee; however, your contract will be extended for the time the line was suspended. The line will be reinstated automatically after 90 days with either suspension option. After the 90 days, you will need to contact us, (Customer Service), if you want to continue to have the service suspended.  If you disconnect the line altogether, you will not be able to get that mobile number back.
I trust this information is helpful.
    Thank you,
    VanessaS

  • Moving house can't keep phone number

So I'll be moving house soon and I'm trying to organise moving my phone, tv and broadband to the new place.
The trouble I'm having is that when filling in the online form it says that not only will I need a new line installed and can't keep my phone number but I won't get all the channels I get just now (standard Vision package).
The new place has had a BT line and is only up the road a bit from where I am just now.
Is there something I'm doing wrong? From what it says before I start filling in the form I should be able to move everything without charge as long as the new place doesn't need a line installed. Which the new place shouldn't need as it was a BT line before.

Have you checked the line in the new property works? If not it'll need to be connected which is normally chargeable.

  • Did you know that a phone number from a webpage loads to your contacts?

Very cool - I was looking up the phone number of a restaurant on its web page using my iPhone; the phone displays all telephone numbers as blue links - touch it and the phone dials. But, this I didn't know, the phone also names the number and puts it in your contacts list! No $1.50 calls to 411; no reason to write down or enter the info yourself, it's there! And if you don't want it for some reason, just delete the contact. Who would want that "ZUNE" thing when Apple's products anticipate what you want to do? I love my iPhone!

Interesting - it somewhat works for me.
I have used Safari Google (m) to find a business, clicked on the found link and iPhone took me to the Maps application, tapped the info bubble in the map, and it formatted the new contact for me, Name, phone, address, webpage etc - and gives me the choice to create a new contact or add to existing contact. I've used this feature a few times in the wild, but never noticed the contact being created automatically without a confirmation.
First time it happened I whooped out loud (on the street) - okay, I'm a geek.
