You must set up your .mac account in system preferences

I setup a .mac account and can sign in. However every time i try to use iphoto to upload an album I get the message that You must setup your .mac account in system preferences.
I can't figure out what else I need to do to setup my .mac account.
Thanks

Have you set up your .mac account in your system preferences?

New computer but Photostream does not work.  I am signed into my account but get the following message:  In order to use Photo Stream, you have to be signed into your iCloud account in System Preferences.  I go to system preferences and then get a message that says that my account cannot be accessed.  However, I am using my icloud account for email and other items and it works fine.  Any thoughts?

Are you getting this messages in iPhoto? If so try the following (again?):
Log out of iCloud in the System/iCloud preference pane and disable Photo Stream in iPhoto's Photo Share preference pane.  Then log back in and re-enable, respectively.  That should jump start Photo Stream.

  • Once you have set up your iCloud account... how do I change the iCloud on my iPhone to a different Apple ID?

I have set up the iCloud on the iPhone with a Apple ID different from the ID , I use for the Apple Store. I want to change it to the same ID, How can I change the Apple ID on the iCloud??

    Hi
    https://appleid.apple.com/
    and
    https://www.icloud.com
    are two different accounts
Therefore you should still use your "old" (existing) iCloud mail address - you cannot change the iCloud mail address.
However you could add an alias instead to you iCloud account.

  • How do you set up more than one Personal domain name to your .Mac account

I have registered 3 domain names changed all the cnames to web.mac.com.
Now on the menu to set Personal domain on my .Mac account it only lets you add 0ne Domain name?
How do we add more or is there a limit?

You can only set one domain name. You can of course use other means to forward the other two to the one you have put in your .Mac Account Settings.

  • Try to publish ical - error "your .Mac account information is not correct"

I try to publish a calendar from my home computer so that I can see it on my work laptop (both Macs); and I get an error "Your .Mac account configuration is not correct. Calendar could not be published. Your .Mac account information is not correct. You cannot publish to .Mac until you have configured your .Mac account." Its setup and configured. Any ideas?

I had the same thing and did the following two things which got it to publish. Not sure which one fixed it but give it a go.
    1. Open your .mac pane in system preferences. Sign out and sign back in.
    2. Change the name of the calendar you're trying to publish.
    Good luck!

  • How do set up your hotmail account on a mac book pro? I have it set up so I get mail but on my hotmail account I have lot of separate folders. They don't show up on my mac, they do on my iPhone and iPad.

How do set up your hotmail account on a mac book pro properly? I have it set up so I get mail but on my hotmail account I have lot of separate folders to save messages in(for example :- bank, skyp, work, Facebook, apple, ect...). They don't show up on my mac. I also have an iPhone and iPad, there is no issue here when I set those up. I automatically got my separate folders. Anybody have any idea or encountered the same problem?

    Cheers,
I'm not gonna lie, I actually have no idea if its pop or imap. Do you know where you can check and if it can be changed?
Hotmail on a Mac is POP3 only, you will only get the basic folders (inbox, sent, trash etc) and it will not sync with other devices.
And now I post this I see other replies, so this is redundant. !!

  • How do I change my initial email address when after you set-up your MAC

I am new to MAC and just purchased a MAC Pro.  I went through the set-up and put in an email that I would like to change.  How do you go back and change that initial email you have to provide when setting up your MAC?  Also, is there a way to not show your email when you use iMessage?
    Thanks

Open System Preferences > Users & Groups then select the Password tab to change the email address.

  • Why does setting up your mac mean?

I down loaded an up date, now it just says " setting up your mac" help

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Press and hold the power button for a few seconds until the power shuts off.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode.)

  • Had desktop Mac Pro set up with recent operating system there is a message that say setting up your Mac on the screen do I have to wait for the this process to complete or is there a way out of this screen?

I took all of my devices in to the apple store in ridge hill in Yonkers, the rep helped me set up the new operating system on all my
Devices from my phone to my desk top tower at home. I powered up my desk top this morning and a message came up saying that
The system did not recognize a program that was not compatible with the new operating system and it went right into "Setting up your Mac"
Mode. Do I have to wait for the setup or is there a way to by pass this process?
                            Dee Brown

I think maybe wait for a bit. Usually, on startup and installing the new OS, the assumption is that the user might not know too much, and that compatibility must be checked, which may be helpful, or not.  For now, I'd say ignore it, wait until it's done its thing, then update the program that's not compatible. If you can, Mr. Brown, find out which one isn't "making nice" with Mavericks. Hopefully it'll give you a name

  • Mac mini stuck on setting up your mac

I shut down my mac mini.  After powering on, it came up with "setting up your mac" on the screen like I was setting up a new mac.  Not sure why this is on the screen.  I did not wipe it clean for it to start up new.
I did a hard shut down, restarted, then it came up with the user accounts.  I selected the main account (mine which is always used) and it went right back to "setting up your mac" again.
Any ideas why it is doing this?  It has been stuck on this for 24 hours now.
    Thanks!

Something has damaged the routine to find the default user as your user.  If your data is not backed up, I'd look at data recovery solutions first:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-1689
If it is backed up, you might want to establish the fact the old first bootable user still is using the system password reset:

    Hi,
A few minutes ago my Macbook Pro (late 2009 model running 10.7.2) crashed and flashed the "You must shut down your computer" sign. I rebooted and at the moment the MBP is up and running again but I am not sure whether I should take it in for servicing or not. The kernel panic report is attached.
    Thanks for your response.

  • HT6150 Did the recent Mavericks update and now I am getting the screen "Setting Up Your Mac"  It has been this way for an hour...and nothing is going on.

AS soon as I log in I get this screen  "Setting Up Your Mac..."
It has been on the computer for quite a while and I can not get back to my desktop.
    Please help. thanks!

Here was the answer I found that worked:
Command-Shift-Option-Esc (hold for three seconds) for Force Quit the front-most application (Mac OS X v10.5 or later)
That got to me a new page where I had to enter my security key chain ID, but then wouldn't go any further. So i have rebooted - and lo and behold it opened up OK. It has asked me for a security question, but it now seems to be working OK!! Thanks - hope you get your problem sorted also. I should have copied the name and did not...sorrry.

  • Exchange server OWA athentication Error " You must set a default domain if LogonFormat is set to UserName"

I Have windows 2012 DC installed and This is a production server, I know that Its not recommended to install exchange server on the DC. I had to do it because of management instructions.
I have tried to install the exchange 2013 and received many errors at the time of installations and then finally I changed the path for installation to D drive. its installed successfully.
The issue is its not opening the OWA or ECP.
The owa virtual directory got deleted as part of troubleshooting to recreate it. but after that its not creating, I reset the iis and created the virtual drive for owa from the iis console but not through powershell and then i thought to install the SP1
so that it can be fixed.
At the time of installation client access front end service role ..it gives error

    Hi Mohammed,
I have run into this same problem and below is the fix.
Run below command  to see the logon format
    Get-OwaVirtualDirectory -Identity "owa (Default Web Site)"|fl name,server,*auth*,*logon*,*domain*
    Look for LogonFormat values
    LogonFormat                             : UserName- (Wrong One)
LogonFormat                             : Domain - (Correct one)
If you find the first one (Wrong One) then i would suggest you to run the below command to change the log on format to domain which will solve your problem
Set-OwaVirtualDirectory -Identity "owa (Default Web Site)" -LogonFormat FullDomain
    Cheers !!

I'm migrating some forms from 11.5.9 to 12.1.3...
I'ts a complete customized module called SP.
In two forms. when I enter them, I get the message:
"APP-10367: You cannot set up your Payables options without first setting up your financials options.
Set up your financials options in the FInancials Options window."
Coincidentally, these 2 forms have account combinations fields, and they are not working.
    Anyone had this problem?
Coudn't find anything on My Oracle Support or Google itself.
    Thank You all in advance

Before you do anything, go to Help | Check For Updates and install v3.6.16. There was a security breach at Comodo which is an SSL certificate provider whereby a number of fraudulent certificates were inadvertently issued. This allows a hacker to impersonate any site including online banking and your browser will not display a warning. The latest update in the 3.6.x series blacklists those certificates.
On the subject of the homepage you asked about, it's probably this add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/homepage-randomizer/

  • How to solve "Setting Up your Mac" process?

Why does my Mac says "Setting up Your Mac" after I entered my password and Apple ID, and it stayed like that for so long?

After reading similar discussion topics in these ASC forums, some
users with this issue decided to force-sleep their computer and after
some time, woke it up, and it appeared to continue through the Set-
up interval, to the desktop and finder in Mavericks.
Some others tried different keyboard shortcuts, such as force-quit
and hoped for the best on a full restart. With varying results.
Was this a new computer or is it one where the entire OS X
was reinstalled, so as to act like a new computer?
Could you specify what exact model & build year, plus configuration?
If the computer is new, or with the complementary warranty period,
you could call Apple Support or AppleCare, or take it to Apple Store.
The extended Applecare plan is recommended, btw, since these are
complicated devices and would require expert service & support.
To attempt to troubleshoot or suggest methods of resolving issues
more information is needed. And by now, I hope this is resolved.
There is quite a large and sometime difficult database at Support
regarding a variety of products; Mac OS X Mavericks has one:

    Good luck & happy computing!
