"You need to install Switchboard"...over and over and over...
Okay, running kuler Desktop on my Mac, G5 PPC running 10.5.8 OS.
I downloaded kuler Desktop, figured it looked like an awesome way to speed up my using this online tool and even bring swatches directly into my CS3 apps.
However, I have AIR installed, kuler Desktop, and when I went to use the Photoshop or Illustrator import options, it immediately popped up saying I had to install Switchboard. Fine. I downloaded it, installed it, restarted kuler Desktop.
It did it again. Okay, fine. I dumped everything, including kuler Desktop, re-installed everything, even restarted the whole computer. But when I go to do anything other than download it to the desktop, when I go to bring it into any of the CS3 apps, I keep getting the same "You must install Switchboard" option. And yes, I've tried dumping the plist and preferences files as well, to no avail. And yes, the applications I've tried have been open at the time. I did some searching and reading on this before posting about it, to try and find if someone had reported a similar issue. But nobody mentioned the Switchboard install thing coming up over and over again, just that the feature wasn't working, so I thought I'd post specifically about this to see if it's the same issue or if there's as yet a solution for it so it works properly.
What's going on? Is kuler Desktop for Mac just fundamentally not yet working right or what?
I really want to use this app, but if all I can do with it is download the straight ASE files to my desktop, I might as well dump it and go back to using the online version since that at least is a bigger display. I like the desktop version because it's fast, directly on my computer, and has this advertised import-into-CS3 option that would save me some time if it worked. I've attached a screen capture so you can see exactly what I keep getting when this happens.
Any help to clarify this or correct it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Reboot your computer, then try to log in.

I am unable to axcess any adobe software since OS X YOSEMITE took over my laptop. I keep getting this message, "To open Adobe CS5" you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime. Does anyone know what to do? My efforts have not worked.
and - check with Adobe - would strongly suspect you need to upgrade CS. Strongly consider Creative Cloud, access to the entire TypeKit alone is amazing.

I recently did a system update and installed Yosemite on my Mac. Now I am unable to open CS5 at all. The error message I get is this: "To open Adobe Photoshop CS5.1, you need to install legacy Java SE 6 runtime." I have tried downloading this and it still gives me the same mess
In the details it is mentioned that it is an outdated version of Java.
Is this a security risk that i need to live with to get CS5 to run with Yosemite?
Also i need to reject messages from Java in the future about updates, or not?
thx for any input -
When I try and open adobe illustrator I get a pop up message saying "To open “Adobe Illustrator CS6” you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime." it also says "Click “More Info…” to visit the legacy Java SE 6 download website." When i click more info it transfers me to an apple page which never loads, its just a blank page. I downloaded Java SE 6 like it says it needs but it did nothing. All of my other Adobe programs such as bridge, dreamweaver, lightroom, Photoshop, indesign, and flash all work except for illustrator. What can I do to fix this?
Go to Apple and look for the Java for OSX 2014-001 link. Download from there and install it.

I have a dialogue box that will not go away and it seems to have started when I upgraded to Mt. Lion. the box says, "To open JavaApplication, you need to install a Java 6 SE runtime. Would you like to check for and install one? (smaller print) Note: Usw of this software is subject to the Software License Agreement applicable to the software you are downloading. A list of Apple SLAs may be found here: htp://www.apple.com/legal/sla/
Finally there are two boxes to click. One says not now. If I click on that the box goes away for 2 to 3 seconds and then pops back up and WILL NOT go away. If I click on the second box, Install, it says The software is currently unavailable. To install a Java SE 6 runtime later, open Java Application again.
My confusion here is that I have no idea what the java application is, When I click "okay" on that box, the original box pops us again and WILL NOT go away. CGoing to the apple lega web site was no help. My solution so far has been to drag the dialogue box as far to the lower right and out of the way as far as I can. Help.Does this happen immediately after you log in? If so, one of your login items is probably causing it.

The window then states, "Click More info...to visit the legacy Java SE 6 download website." I do click on the More Info... button, but the webpage is blank. Please help.

Depending on your OS, you should be able to use;
Win:

Mac:

Some have found that the page may turn up blank to start with, so it may be necessary to reload the page.
Others have found that it may depend on browser. Specifically, a switch from Safari has solved it in one case. -

I just updated my Mac to the new op system and when I tried to open my Ai it gave me this message, "To open "Adove Illustrator CS5.1 you need to install the legacy java SE 6 runtime." I updated my Java to 8 and it still won't open. I tried to update my Ai to 11...it won't update.
Steven,
The right way/order is to update the OP, then reinstall the applications.

Hi Apple Support Communities, I need some support.
After loading Mavericks with lots of happiness primarily to be able to use dictation, see my previous query. Since then I have also had this come up on my Macbook Air everytime I start it.
To open "CS5ServiceManager" you need to install a Java SE 6 runtime. Would you like to check for and install one? I tried yes (many times over many days).
Install.
Finding software. Can't download the software because of a network problem.
There is no problem with my internet connection & I have Java 7. My apologies that I am just a general user & not up with technical issues, would someone please enlighten me on what to do to fix or remove this error.
its now become a tiresome thing that together with not being able to use (download) the enhanced dictation & my imail/gmail problems that makes me wanna buy a PC next time. Major bummer.
Please help. Thankyou in anticipation.i had the same problem and i fix it installing ccleaner, it is free and an excellent program. You can download it from: https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download
Once installed, in the tab "Herramientas" (sorry but i have it in spanish) you choose "Inicio" and them you pick CS5ServiceManager then you pick in delete option. Basically you are removing of the startup programs...

To open "CS5ServiceManager" you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime.
Recently updated to OSX Yosemite. Now every time I turn the computer on I get this message.
To open "CS5ServiceManager" you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime.
I don't know what CS5ServiceManager is. And when I click on the "More Info" button, I am redirected to a blank screen. So I'm confused and a little worried. Is it necessary to install Java SE 6 runtime? If so, I think I can find the instructions on how to do it, but I'd like to know if (1) it is safe to do so and (2) if it's necessary. Here it is: Apple Java 2014-001. Quite safe to install. Only necessary if you are using Adobe's CS5 suite.

hello, every time i start up my Mac mini i get a message saying To open "adobe" you need to install a Java SE 6 runtime.
But when i press install it says no connection available even though i am connected to a really reliable and fast connection.
Please help - Thank you!every time i start up my Mac mini i get a message saying To open "adobe"
That's not what your screenshot shows. It shows "java," not "adobe." Regardless, I very strongly suggest that you figure out what is trying to use Java before you install it. -
