You Tube won't play. OK on IE and Chrome. No crash message for flash. Adobe Flash updated.

I am running Windows7 Home Premium. I can play You Tube videos fine on IE and Chrome but on Firefox all I get is a blank black box. The You Tube site opens OK, just won't play anything. I do not get a crash message about Flash. Everything was fine until a couple days ago. Version is Shockwave Flash 10.3.181.34 Firefox5.0 installed

Try to disable the hardware acceleration in the Flash Player.

  • You Tube won't play full screen on Chrome

When I select full screen, the window stays same size, but moves to top left of the screen. I go into settings and my Hardware Accelaration option has gone, it used to be here...This only happens in YouTube, other videos on different sites I can select full screen no problem, though the Hardware accelaration option has gone there too. Now I only have 4 options to choose from in Local Settings. It's also gone from Global Settings.
I've tried clearing caches etc..no joy. It does work fine on IE9 for me, but I've always used Chrome & GMail, and don't wish to stop.
I'm using Windows Vista Business SP2 32 bit, my browser is Google Chrome Version 26.0.1410.64 my Flash version is 11.7.700.179, which is the correct version for my browser and O/S and is up to date. Windows, Chrome and Flash updates are all current.
I've been on forums, I've enabled/disabled plug ins, I've cleared and deleted caches and Adobe files, and it's now getting annoying.
I realise there has been an update recently, but I don't want to start messing about uninstalling and digging out earlier versions etc...Isn't it all meant to be incorporated into Chrome and updated automatically so users can avoid doing these sorts of things.
If anybody can help, I'd be grateful. If you need to know anything else, please ask.
    Thanks,
    Martin

    Ok I got it fixed.
Let me give you guys some info.
    Win7 Ultimate 32bit
    Google Chrome Version 26.0.1410.64 m
    Had this pugin installed
    Name:
    Shockwave Flash
    Description:
    Shockwave Flash 11.7 r700
    Version:
    11.7.700.202
    Location:
    C:\Users\Cbu\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\PepperFlash\11.7.700.202\pepflashplayer.dll
    Type:
    PPAPI (out-of-process)
The problem only occurs on a few youtube videos. not all.
    Giving an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHxUNaN4Qws
I fixed this by downloading the same version but for firefox (NPAPI one)
    And disable the PPAPI one.
Refresh the youtube page. And it works.
Next I updated my Google Chrome, to
    Version 27.0.1453.94 m.
    Restarted the brower as prompted.
Then I disabled the NPAPI one and enabled the PPAPI one.
Refresh the youtube page. And it works too.
In summary, if you are having this issue. Try update your google chrome. If cannot then try the flashplayer for firefox.

  • Spacing Issues and You Tube embed not playing in IE8, OK in Chrome or Safari

There are spacing issues (makes the website pages look like they are puzzle pieces) on all the webpages in
IE8, but in Safari and Chrome the website works fine.  Same for the You Tube embed.
My wife did the layout of the website in Ilustrator and then transfered over the design to Dreamweaver CS3
(she's a graphic designer - I stopped asking questions long ago).  Since she uses a Mac, it looked fine to her
in Safari.  She took it to her work computer (PC) and tried to see if there were any issues detected when viewing in CS5
and she said it was fine.

HP G56 intermittent sound problem - e.g you tube/MP3 files play for 10 seconds then stop.  I have made sure that the latest sound driver is installed and this makes no difference. The laptop is new so there is no other software on it other than the pre-installed stuff operating on windows 7.  In sound options all looks well and the device is said to be working properly.  Even the sound test in device manager sometimes works and sometimes doesnt.

My movie won't play past two minutes and thirty-seven seconds. What do I do?

    Hello Bdev15,
I would be concerned too if the songs I purchased from iTunes were not downloading to my iPhone. You have taken some great troubleshooting steps already, and thank you for providing the details of the steps you too.  I have a few additional suggestions to get it downloaded to your iPhone.
First, I recommend checking to see if the download was interrupted:
If your download was interrupted using your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
From the Home screen, tap the iTunes app.
For iPhone or iPod touch, tap More > Downloads. For iPad, tap Downloads.
Enter your account name and password if prompted.
Tap the blue download arrow to resume.
iTunes: How to resume interrupted iTunes Store downloads
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1725
If the songs still do not download, next I recommend downloading the songs when connected to another network.  For example, if you are using the cellular network, you could switch to Wi-Fi, or you could try an alternate Wi-Fi network.  Follow the steps in the section titled "iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch > Music" in the article below to download the songs:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
If you are still not able to download the songs, you can report an issue with these purchases using the steps in this article:

and, what is even more strange...
I actually bought 2 Billy Joel songs NY State of Mind from Essential Billly Joel and Italian Restaurant from Greatist Hits vol 1.  Neither song would play.
I went back the Apple store and tried to re-download NYSOM.  It let me do it for free.  Before I checked I tried to re-dowload IR but inadvertantly selected same song but from The Stranger.  I had to pay for this one.  The re-downloaded NYSOM still didn't work but IR I bought from Stranger worked.  So, I bought NYSOM from Greatest Hits vol 1. Didn't work!!!  Tried again and bought from another album, Turnstiles, and that one worked.  So, I bought 5 songs, only 2 of which will work.
So, now I ask - is there any way to get my money back?

My 10 year old daughter has an ipad mini and has been able to watch You Tube videos with no problem.  Now, all of a sudden, they won't load or if they load, they don't play.  Can anyone tell me why this might happen?  Everything else works fine, it's just this.

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).

  • My browser seems to crash quite a lot and Ive noticed a lot of you tube videos dont play back correctly and have a green bar across the screen

Ive had the browser a couple of days now and I've noticed it crashes occasionally. Ive also noticed it doesn't play back videos off you-tube correctly and there is a green band going across them as they play. I think this may be an issue with adobe flash player. If i play the video via the popout button, it seems ok.
I don't know if the crashing and playback issues are related.

I disabled acceleration in the flash player by linking to http://kb.mozillazine.org/Flash#Troubleshooting and scrolling to the line that specifically outlined my problem - split horizontal screen with green line - clicked on the flash link then right clicked the flash icon and ticked disable acceleration.
I also uninstalled and reinstalled more programs then I probably need to.
We will see how long it lasts* site explains it may not be permanent

I cannot see any You tube videos in full screen since updating to the latest Adobe Flash player 10.1.102.64  Everything is fine in normal and expanded mode and any resolution, but full screen just gives me a completely white screen. I can go back by pressing ESCAPE as normal.

Yes I know it's an old / slow system, but it was fine before... Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance

I've answered my own question! I found how to access the settings option in flash player, by right clicking while a clip was playing on youtube, and disabled the 'Hardware acceleration' as my video card is sooo old it doesn't support this.
Thanks anyway, and I hope someone else finds this useful, Happy New Year

  • I can't stop  You Tube video from playing

I was watching a video on You Tube via Apple TV.  When I decided I didn't want to continue watching it,  it would not stop playing.
I tried everything.  Eventually, I disconnected from Apple TV, then turned everything off. I went to bed.  This morning, I turned on my MacAir and the stupid video is still playing.  How can I stop it?

    Eventually fixed it!
