  • Help! Youcam, Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Adobe Reader all not working in U310

Using a U310 ideapad with Windows 7 bought one year ago - warranty just expired of course!!
5 days ago I tried to pull up and excel spreadsheet from an e-mail and got an error message that there was not enough memory to do so.
Afterward, I tried to open word and it simply grayed out with a message box saying it was not working - it would try to fix the problem and then it just disappeared.  The same thing continues to happen.
I tried to open a PDF with Adobe Reader and it, too, crashed.  I uninstalled it and reinstalled it, stopped it from coming up in protected mode and now it doesn't crash but I cannot edit any pdf with it and the tools box no longer works at all - a small circle spins in it for a couple of seconds, then fades to gray.
My youcam will not turn on at all - when I click on the youcam icon, the cursor spins for a couple of seconds, then returns to an arrow and the youcam doesn't come on.
So, after experiencing all these things, I figured I'd try the tried-and-true method of rebooting my laptop.  When the laptop restarted, before allowing me to enter my password, the error message "verifyhost.exe - application error unable to start correctly Oxc000007b" came up.  I x'd out of that, entered password, then 2 other errors came up "lenovoreg.exe" and SACpl.exe
After working on this for hours, I'm really at a loss as to what it could be.  Does anyone have any idea?   It's unbelievable to me that this has happened on a new laptop that basically just sits on my desk - I don't travel with it and don't do much more than email and word processing on it!  I have no games and very little else even downloaded!

Download this, install, update and try to scan your hdd for malware.

  • Ideapad U310 Windows 7 64bit, YouCam not working

I have a 1.5yr old Ideapad U310, Win 7 64 bit with inbuilt webcam. The camera is not working and cant be swiched on.
Neither thru YouCam software or through Skype. Was weoring perfectly a month ago.
The Product shown in the the Device manager under Imaging Device "Lexmark X422"  WITH AN EXclamation mark.
There is a youCam software which doesnt work as says switch on camera. Fn F9  done the camera is still not ON but icon says on. Reinstalled the Youcam software twice, but issue remains "Camera to be switched on".
    Please advise.

    hi vtrakroo,
The Lexmark X422 that you're seing is likely the scanner from your Lexmark printer (the built-in camera should usually be listed as Lenovo Easy Camera or similar)
      - Sample image
    Things that you can try:
    1. Boot into the BIOS by pressing F2 (or Fn+F2). In the BIOS, press F9 (or Fn+F9) to load setup defaults then press F10 (or Fn+F10) to save and exit.
        - this procedure will refresh all hardware components in the system
    2. Inside Windows, check if you have an Unknown Device in the Other Devices section. If you have this, follow this guide on how to identify the device (or post the Hardware ID here)
        - Sample image
    3. Reinstall the camera driver
       - Camera Driver (Bison, Chicony, Awazu) for Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit)

  • Microphone and Webcam not working/Webcam not recognized by YouCam

    Hello,
I have a dv7-6c95dx and my YouCam  program tells me that it does not recognize my integrated webcam. I have read all of the webcam forums on this site and clicked on all of the links people have posted in the forums. I have uninstalled the CyberLink YouCam program and it still comes up with the same messages. The webcam also does not show up in my device manager. The microphone is malfunction as well, it will not work any any programs including skype.
I have heard that the webcam can come unplugged internally, will that also cause the microphone to stop working? I have run out of options and I do not want to pay anyone to fix it. I would appreciate any advice on this subject.

    Hi DillOrNoDill,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your HP Pavilion dv7-6c95dx Notebook and sound and microphone issues and Webcam not working correctly. I would be happy to assist if needed. Try these steps first.
    1. Right click speaker icon (right hand corner)
    2. Select Playback devices
    3. Right click Speakers
    4. Enable it and set as Default
    5. Click Apply/Ok
You could also try Microsoft troubleshooter located on your Notebook.
Here is a document on WebCam troubleshooting. The Webcam will be listed in your device manager under Imaging devices. You should be able to click the action button and scan for new hardware.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

  • Internal Webcam and Microphone not working after Screen Fix

I own a HP Envy Spectre XT Ultrabook, and last week I tried to use the webcam and the microphone for the first time in a few months.
However I was shocked to find that Skype kept saying that the webcam was not detected. The microphone also could not register any sound.
Device Manager did not show any imaging devices or the webcamera, even after setting it to view non-present devices.
A check using msinfo32 did not review the webcamera either, and there were no problem devices.
Control Panel >> Sound showed that the Internal Microphone using IDT High Definition Audio Codec was enabled and working, however it could not detect any sound. All drivers are checked to be up-to-date.
I suspect this has something to do with the screen repair last month which a HP on-site technician came down to replace my screen, although I cannot be 100% sure. Although the screen is now working, the technician did not do a good job reassembling the screen - the bottom left corner of the screen cover has not be able to attach properly to the screen.
I have gone through my BIOS setup to make sure that there is no webcam disabled.
I have tried rolling-back and reinstalling the drivers for the microphone but it did not work.
I have tried uninstalling CyberLink YouCam (laptop preinstalled webcam software).
Please help, these two components are very important to me as I am going overseas soon. The laptop is still under warranty.

    Hey ajun,
Thank you very much for the information!
For troubleshooting your Webcam, I would suggest taking a look at the document Webcam Troubleshooting (Windows 7). I would suggest the two options Video does not appear in your webcam software (such as YouCam, Skype, Messenger, ect.), and Webcam is not listed in Device Manager.
For your internal microphone not working either, please take a look at the document Resolving Microphone and Line-in Problems (Windows 7). From this document, I would suggest following the top two symptoms.
Please let me know the outcome of these troubleshooting steps.
Good luck, and have a great day!

    Hi there  @Eliyana
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that your Webcam is not working and does not appear within device manager. I am happy to assist.
This document is pretty much a catchall of webcam related issues. There is a section specifically for the device not  appearing in device manager. Check it out, unfortunately if it does not resolve with that then it is likely either a loose connection or fault in the device.

  • Hp TrueVision HD web cam does not work. The light will come on but no image appears in the window.

    Hi.
I have an HP Pavilion dv7 6178us Entertainment PC I just bought it last week. My operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 64 bits.
The problem I have is that yesterday I install Skype in the computer and realized that the HP TrueVision HD web cam does not work. The light right next to the web cam will light up but no image will appear on the screen.
I have checked the software that  I have in the computer for the webcam and the program is CyberLink YouCam BE version 3.5.
But the web cam does not work. The light right next to it will turn on when I activate Cyberlink, Skype or Messenger but no actual image will come out in computer screen. The computer is fully updated BIOS, Windows 7 and HP.
But the web cam is not working. Could you help me fix this problem?
    Best regards:
    JEIO71

    I have a pavilion dv6 notepad. it's about a year old.
about a month ago internal webcam truevision hd stop working.
Called hp tech. they sent a box for me to ship the laptop.
they hp tech attempted to correct the problem via internet
    did not work.
wanted me to do a restore to factory setting i stopped him there.
    Webcam detected in device manager.
the webcam light come on but no image.
I actually see the back drop through the image space.
    running windows 7, fully updated.
I found many comments on the web about the webcam connector disconnecting.
But if it was the case with my computer, the webcam would not be detected.
Many other comments suggests to do a restore to factory setting but \i read also that
    does not work often.
I read many comments where disappointed clients believe hp should update
the software but the driver is actually microsoft dating back to june 2006.
Is it possible it's  a hardware problem, ie webcam is burned out.
I have received a box to sent it and know they will do a system restore.
Don't feel to go that way.
Many comments refers to hp making an effort to get a driver update.
ps I decided to purchase a logitech webcam, works perfectly.
What else can I do to fix this problem.
Can hp send me another internal webcam.

  • WebCam not working on G580

    Hello everyone,
I'm having a weird problem with my new Lenovo G580 model 2189.
Long story short: my laptop has Win8 installed, and the webcam was working fine on the first use of the laptop. A few weeks later I installed a SSD and removed the DVD unit, using the bay for the original HDD of the laptop.
I did the image of the OS with the app that the SSD provided (it's a Samsung 840 Pro, if it's relevant) and everything went OK. And so I continued using the laptop with everything working exactly the same as the default config the laptop came with.
A few days back I tried to use the webcam for the first time since I installed the SSD, and to my surprise when I started the YouCam program it prompted that it can detect any webcam, and here's where my odyssey starts:
I have looked on the devices admin window if there's a device without its drivers installed. There's no warning sign, but what I think that's even odder is that there's no "image devices" category, which means that there's no webcam detected as a hardware component on the laptop.
I've downloaded the drivers from the lenovo website for the webcam (1 & 2) , but when I try to install it the program shows an error window saying "no appropiate driver to be installed".
I looked at the Lenovo Help Centre and followed these instructions, but the Fn+Esc didn't work, and there's no webcam sing displayed on the screen. I checked that the Energy Management was properly installed and running.
I've also uploaded the YouCam software or tried to use the webcam with Google Hangout, but the problem persists.
As you see I've tried a few things, all without success. Does anybody know how could I fix these problem? could it be related with the SSD installation, since I haven't done any other change to the laptop?
Thanks in advance for your time.

    Hi jorge_fubar,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
I’m sorry to hear that the Webcam is not working as expected in your G580 Laptop and also it is not displayed under “Imaging Devices” in the “Device Manager”, as this issue after changing the HDD in the computer. This issue seems to be hardware related but before considering it as a hardware issue, it can be checked if the device is detected in “Safe Mode”. If the issue is same in “Safe Mode”, below is the link for the steps to get into “Safe Mode”.
    Windows 8 Safe Mode
If the issue persists even in “Safe Mode”, I would Strongly Suggest Calling Technical Support for Assistance. Click here to open a link where you can select the country and get the exact contact support number. I’m sure they will be a great help.
Do post us back for further queries.

  • ENVY m7-j020dx: Built-in camera is not working

Background:  I have HP Support Assistant running and do all the updates regularly. Chipset/BIOS updates I have made regularly as well so the machine is up to date. I did upgarde to Windows 8.1 as soon as I got my machine less than a year ago
Problem: Never used built-in webcam so I dont know if it ever worked, but trying to use it now and Cyberlink Youcam said there was no camera. Went to device manager and there is no built-in camera listed (it shows my external Logitech but not the built-in camera)
Would like to know how to get the built-in camera working.
    Thanks!

    Hi @ALMAdmin,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I saw your post regarding the problems with the webcam not working for you. Here is an HP document Webcam Troubleshooting with some troubleshooting steps to try. • Microphone not working on dv7 Pavilion Notebook (Windows 7)

The microphone on my dv7 Pavilion Notebook is not working.  I checked the sliding volume controls and have tried updating my drivers.  A few weeks ago, I “unchecked” a few startup items using msconfig.  Is it possible, I “unchecked” an item related to the microphone?  Please advise
In addition, I tried updating the CyberLink YouCam software, but I am unable to uninstall the existing software in order allow the updated software to properly install.  When uninstalling the program, I receive a “1628 Fail” notification.  Is there another way to force the  un-installation of CyberLink YouCam?

    Thank you in advance.

    Hi,
First, regarding the microphone problem, try the following.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp58001-58500/sp58226.exe
When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers.  Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery.  Hold  down the Power button for 30 seconds.  Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter.
Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to launch the Start-up Menu and then select f10 to enter the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.  Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
Let Windows fully load - it will automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete.  Then open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, restart the notebook again before cheecking if the microphone works.
Regarding being unable to uninstall Cyberlink Youcam, see if you can remove it using the Microsoft 'Fixit' on the following link - this is particularly useful in correcting issues on machines running a 64bit OS.

  • Microsoft Lifecam Studio HD not working with skype...

Greetings, I recently upgraded my computer from windows 8 to Windows 8.1.
My webcam works in the microsoft lifecam application, but when I attempt to use it in Skype, I just see the the swirling 'loading' icon for the webcam.
I would like to resolve this as soon as possible
    Thanks

When I say that it doesn't work with any webcam software in the desktop, I mean Skype, Windows Live Messenger, LiveCam Studio software, CyberLink YouCam and not even in the Microsoft Silverlight configuration.
I know that the webcam is working because it works in the camera app of metro, and in the sound recorder of the desktop. Of course I can see that the webcam microphone is working, but using any of the above software have no video or audio.
YouCam gives me this error message: "YouCam cannot connect to your webcam ( Microsoft LifeCam Cinema). Try selecting another capture device within settings, or close any applications that may be using this webcam and then restart YouCam."
worked ok up till last week, downloaded Have reinstall all new drivers and Softwear up to date but No LifeCam.EXE File is missing from Software (US)
Microsoft needs to fix this as cam only got as Skype Certified

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
I have read your post on how the webcam is not working on your notebook computer, and I would be happy to be of assistance!
Since you have attempted to remove and re-install the software, I recommend returning your system back to a previous restore point when the webcam was working. This can be done by following this document on Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8).
If the issue persists, I also suggest performing a backup and recovery of your Operating System. This can be done by following this document on Backing Up Your Files (Windows 8), as well as Performing an HP System Recovery (Windows 8). This should help return your system back to factory defaults.
