"Your app is being created but it isn't ready to be used yet." Access Services error

Hi All,
I have configured my environment to be able to create custome Access Apps by using this guide:

I have followed everything to the letter (except the "Configure for Apps" optional section as I had already done this).
However whenever I try to create a new Access App I get the "Your app is being created but it isn't ready to be used yet." message and if I browse to the site contents of the url I am targeting it shows the app as installing but it will never complete.
The logs don't give much more information than what is in the message displayed except the following entry:
MossPackageManager.InstallPackage: Timeout before installation completed for the SPApp '94d0d6b0-cfd7-4ab6-8c7e-403ea6db0231'. Elapsed time: '1' minutes
Is there anything that I may have missed/configured incorrectly?

According to your post, my understanding is that you could not create the Access app.
Based on the log message, some service application may not be created well.
You should double check whether the following service applications had been created well.
Access Services
Access Database Service 2010
App Management Service
Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Subscription Settings Service
Secure Store Service

Annoying, 'Your document is being created' notification

Just updated Acrobat Pro 9 and now get an annoying 'Your document is being created' notification in the bottom right corner of my screen. Even more annoying is a spinning icon that the notification is pointing to. All these darned bells and whistles! I know the document is being created... I did hit the print button didn't I? Anyone know how to turn off these silly notifications?

App shows as installed but it isn't.

Did a clean install, redownloaded apps, this particular app shows as installed but it isn't. Any advice?

Interesting. It was 24th January last year when I bought my App Store 09 version. (My first foray into the App Store).
I don't remember whether it updated the original or replaced it but the only version in my App folder is 09, so it must have been the latter. Thanks for the star.

YOu need to sign out of the PC thru the CC manager and then sign in on the Mac.

Your app needs an update - But the Store is blocked.

Hi all
We have users who insist on using the 'modern' version of certain apps; however they are being prompted with the message to update the app:
The problem here is, they cannot update because (a) the use of Microsoft accounts is disabled and (b) the Windows Store is disabled.
We also have a couple other Store related Group Policies enabled, including:
Turn off Automatic Download and Install of updates
Turn off the offer to update to the latest version of Windows
Does anyone know how to disable app update requests?; or how to administratively deploy an update to the Microsoft published app though Configuration Manager 2012 R2?
We are considering being autocratic and removing all modern applications from the environment forcing users to only use desktop applications if we cannot find a suitable solution to this problem.
Your suggestions or comments are more than welcome.

Those blog posts do explain sideloading well, however they fail to explain how or where to get the .appx from. They are talking about Line of Business apps, designed specifically for internal use.
The apps in this scenario are the inbuilt Music and Video apps from Microsoft.
I found an article on TechNet which said third-party app updates cannot be controlled by an administrator:

I've submitted a feature request for this functionality to our Premiere SDM, but that won't help us with the issue now.
I'm going to look into allowing the apps to automatically update without permitting users to access the store.
I'll keep this thread up-to-date with any progress.

Lost iPhone. Find my iPhone app is on it, but account isn't set up.

My husband lost his iPhone today. Somewhere out in the middle of a soybean field while he was working on his tractor. I just synced it 2 days ago, and I'm pretty sure I put Find my iPhone ap on it, but never set up an account. Is there a way to set up an account and try to find it? Or does it need to be done on the phone itself?
I have it all set up on mine, but forgot how setup works.

HELP says there is an "eport bookmarks" option in the bookmarks tab, but there isn't. I'm using Firefox 4.1

I wanted to export my bookmarks into Safari because in Firefox I can't open up and view friends pictures in Facebook. I'm using both browsers now (Firefox & Safari (for FB) I wanted to export my bookmarks from Firefox to Safari. The Help section in Firefox says that in the FF Bookmark menu there is and Export Bookmarks option. But thee isn't. Did this latest revision of FF 4.1 leave out that option?

IPhoto will not open, saying that the app is being updated - but it is not being updated. Help please!

My iPhoto will not open. I get a system popup saying "iPhoto is being updated. iPhoto cannot be opened while it is being updated".
I have checked and it is not being updated and I have restarted the Mac.
Suggestions will be gratefully received!

Try delete it and reinstall.
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2. Download it from the App Store to reinstall It's on your Purchases List* there.
For older versions that have been installed from Disk you'll need these additional steps:
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 or later they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
*Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.

App store means installed but it isn't

I want to install the Kindle App out of the App Store but my Mac Book Pro needs more than a quarter hour to install. I just do an normal restart and now the app store means it is installed but i can't find it in the lunch pad or in the programs folder.
How i can to reset the app store, so i can install the app again?

a quarter of an hour? It's only a 46.9MB file. That should not take a minute on a broadband connection. Maybe two or three minutes on DSL.
If a "resume" doesn't help, if installed, disable anti virus software then try to resume the download.
The Little Snitch app can prevent apps from downloading or any other network monitoring software.
And check Gatekeeper.
Open System Preferences > Security & Privacy then select the General tab.
Select: Mac App Store and identified developers
If that area is grayed out, click the padlock icon to make changes. You may be prompted for your admin password before proceeding.

Beyond that... restart your router and try again.

HT204053 How can I remove an apple Id ( hotmail address)which is being used in the app store and iTunes but is actually a blocked account and use a current live account which is now set for mail etc ?

I have 2 apple iDs ( hotmail accounts) one of which was set up some time ago and not used for awhile in which time it has become blocked. This Id is set up in iTunes and the app store. It is linked to an old email address which is no longer used which means I can't retrieve a code to reactivate. What I want to do is remove this inactive hotmail account and use the other for all access with iTunes, app store, iCloud,mail etc. without losing all apps and credits. Can this be achieved ? My daughter needs the iPad at school and at the moment can't use iCloud and mail and I am scared to add more iTunes credit when there is a problem with this account... I am desperate and have tried everything I know, thanks

Welcome to the Apple community.
iTunes and iCloud and different accounts, you will need to delete both accounts from your device before adding the new details in their place.
For iCloud go to settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit the delete button. You can then sign back in using your correct details. For iTunes go to settings >store, tap your account ID and then sign out, you can then sign back in using your correct Apple ID.

HT1937 If the app to FaceTime isn't popping up in settings to get on but when I go into my cellural data it shows it's on but still isn't coming up to use how do I get it back or enable it?

Go into Settings>General>Restrictions and see if you have FaceTime restricted.

Media Encoder CS4 No Error No File (Says It's Created, but It Isn't)

I have tried repeatedly today to encode an QuickTime container to P2 format, and while Adobe Media Encoder CS4 appears to load correctly, do the conversion, and confirm the file creation, I can not find the file that was supposed to be created.
There is no error message. Below is the transcript of the log from one attempt:

Only, no where on my computer is there the file “0001DI_1.MXF”. Not only have I looked in the Desktop folder where it is supposed to be. I have searched both hard drives on my computer for that file. This has happened repeatedly with variations of the output file name in the last hour or so.
I have rebooted the machine. I have run error-checking on the hard drive. Even though only log into my with my own account and no one else uses it, I have even created a text file with the same name, just in case the file that was created was there but hidden. I had no problem creating the text file in the directory where the output from Media Encoder is supposed to be.
My suite was fully patched when this was run (except I did install an upgrade to Adobe Reader after this problem occurred when I checked to make sure my software was current).
I used Media Encoder earlier in the day to create a P2 MXF file from the same source file earlier in the day, and have used it to create other output formats.
I am working on a Windows XP Professional machine.
Any ideas?

Quick postscript that may be relevant...
I converted the same file I’m having trouble with to WMV format. It worked fine, but the output file name I wanted to give it was long (more than 8 letters not counting the extension). The name of the file created by Media Encoder was only the first 8 letters plus the extension.
I had no problem manually renaming the file it’s full name (over 20 letters long). It seems Media Encoder couldn’t do that.
That still begs the question why it didn’t work when I tried to create an MXF file only one letter long. Here is the section of log where I tried to do that. As before, it says the file was created. I couldn’t find it.

APP says upto date, but it isn't installed!!?

Hello, I was using adobe edge for work and I went to look at some tutorials online. I saw that the program had been update with new features in the tutorial video I was watching so I figured it just didn't update for me in creative cloud (even though it said "upto date"). I then figured to delete and update. So I deleted edge and clicked download in creative cloud online (not the mac tab) and it just opens the creative cloud icon and edge says it's "up to date"!!?!! I restarted my computer and that didn't work. I looked at a fourm and deleted the OMP.de (whatever isn't called) file and restarted my computer and opened creative cloud, logged in and that didn't work. I don't know what else to do and I'm freaking out because I'm using it at work!!! Help!

I keep getting a message "Your startup disk is full" and my space on the HD fluctuates every second. I have 113 Gbs of free space, but it disappears within seconds and reappears again and repeats.

Yes you should back it up.
Do you have the OS 10.6 disk? You will need it. If you don't have it, you can get one here:

The repair disk procedure does not erase anything on the drive. But before you go any further you should back it up.

ITunes says App update is available but it isn't there...

I have had this problem before when an app was pulled from the store. But there are only 12 apps on my wife's itunes and all of them are in the correct folder and all of them appear to be updated and they all appear to be on the store. iTunes continually says that there is one app that needs to be updated but when I hit the update button there are no updates.
I have updated all apps on my wife's iPhone and iPad and synced both of them several times but it doesn't help. The app store on both devices says there are no updates.
Strange.

This has been an ongoing issue on iTunes for a long time. Today mine showed I had 2 updates available, but when I clicked it there were like 10. Then after I updated it all, it still showed there was 1 update available and clicking it showed none.
You would think that will all the updates to iTunes itself that Apple would have fixed this issue by now.
