Your apple ID (email address) cannot be used to set up imessage at this time

My iMessage recently stopped working. When I attempt to log back in it tells me "your apple ID (email address) cannot be used to set up imessage at this time" then gives me a code to share with Apple support. (See screen shot). Any suggestions?

There is no official public documentation of that error message as far as I know, but according to reports, it can mean (at least sometimes) that the same Apple ID is being used with the iTunes Store or one of the other Apple content stores, and the payment method is invalid. Sign in to the store and review your account. You do not, of course, have to provide any billing information to set up an account to use only with iMessage, as it's a free service.
Otherwise, do what the error message tells you to do.

Hello, have MacBook Pro with OS X Mavericks. All worked fine but today I normally restarted my MacBook and iMessages stop working. Don't know why. Can anybody help me? I tried to call to support centre, but in Slovakia isn't any support and czech support is offline today.

Another possibility is that the primary or alternate email address is invalid. Search the Web for the phrase "My Apple ID." The top hit should be an Apple web page with that title. I'm not giving a direct link because such links are never to be trusted. Sign in and verify the ID.

You need the Apple ID and password from the previous owner who set the Activation Lock. Where did you get this phone?

The Apple ID and Password that was Originally used to Activate the iDevice is required.

Email address cannot be used for iMessage

Just set up an icloud email address for my daughter. I want her to be able to use that icloud email address to send iMessages to me or her mother using our iPads and iPhones.
I set up the icloud email address for her with no problem and am able to e-mail her with it and she is able to send emails back to me with it.
Went into Settings>Messages>Add Another Email. I typed in the icloud email address I set up for her and received the following error message:
"This email address cannot be used for iMessage."
I do not know why I received this error message. The icloud email account was set up.
I also went into the Messages app on my phone and sent a iMessage to the iCloud e-mail account and received a response that the message was delivered and Read!
If anyone has dealt with this issue before, please let me know what you think. Thank you!

So if I'm reading this right, you cannot assign multiple Apple IDs to iMessage on the same device? You have to log out of the first in order to use the second?
If this is true, does this work device to device? In other words, if she has access to an iPad and an iPhone, could you allow the iPhone to message and FaceTime through my daugther's new icloud email while the iPhone is still assigned to her mother's e-mail?
Or, is there a way to allow multiple apple IDs to iMessage and FaceTime on a sinle device WITHOUT having to disable one?

Jus what do you want to accomplish? The Apple ID email address is used for variosu thing onthe iPod like:
- For purchasing media. Srrings.iTunes and App stores. Sing out and sign into anoterh account
- Settings>iCLoudl for iCloud account
- Settings>FaceRome for Apple ID and where You can Be Reached At email address
- Settings>Messages for Send And Receive email address.
- Maybe for Game Center

july 2014 I install new windows xp, but I can't log in before account 44*******@qq.com, its always give me enjoyful when I was easy open bookmark url from different computer.
but there is no any notice or email to me firefox will have new sync system, if there, I could backup before bookmarks from 28 vision ( or some june's vision), but this big browser group is quiet, now, I can't log in again old account,
achieve process:
1st, normal account and right password, its show me unknown account.
2nd, Password Reset, " An email has been sent to the requested account with further information. If you do not receive an email then please confirm you have entered the same email address used during account registration.", I couldn't receive any mail(or in spam) :(
3rd, How to update to the new Firefox Sync ...

I really feel disappointment with firefox( although used for many years), much text, but couldn't resolve clear simple path. answers more hidden link to read, I just use it explore internet, I am not technology engineer, don't care what so much b***t.

You should have no need to use the Old Sync account.
As long as device or devices are Firefox 29 or later (They should all be Firefox 30 now) you should use the New Sync.
You may use the same email address with both accounts.

My email address that was used to set up my ipod was deactivated by yahoo for inactivity...now i cant access my ipod with that email address or password..i also dont have my reciept to show that i purchased the ipod from the apple store either.

How do I change the original email address that was used to set up iCloud

I have just noticed that the email under system preferences for iCloud is an old one that does not exist anymore. How do I change this? Can you also tell me if I delete this account - will it affect what I have stored on the computer e.g. what is in my photos etc? I am a real novice when it comes to computers - so excuse my ignorance :-)

You can change the (non-Apple) email address which forms your Apple ID to another one at http://appleid.apple.com. If you are going to do this you should follow this procedure to avoid problems:
Firstly, if you have 'Find My iPhone/iPad/iMac' enabled on any of your devices, turn it off.
Create a new email address, for example at Yahoo or Gmail, or anywhere convenient (or you can use an existing address as long as it has never been associated with an Apple ID).
Go to http://appleid.apple.com and click 'Manage your Apple ID'. Sign in with the current ID.
Where it says 'Apple ID and primary email address' and gives your current ID email address, click 'edit'.
Enter your new address and click 'Save changes'.
Now you will need to go to each of your devices and sign out in System Preferences (or Settings)>iCloud - 'Sign out' on a Mac, 'Delete this account' on an iOS device (this will not delete the account from the server).
Then sign back in with your new ID. Your iCloud data will disappear from your devices when you sign out, but reappear when you sign back in (give it time).
I re-iterate: before you start, turn off 'Find My Mac' (or whatever) or you will need the services of Support.

Apple ID email address already in use

Whenver I try to make an Apple ID account with my main email (Hotmail), it always says that the email address is already in use. I am currently using my Gmail address as my Apple ID. I've tried recovering my Apple ID through security questions but it always says the birthdate that I entered is incorrect. When I try to send a recovery email I never receive one. When I try to find my Apple ID, no results show up. The only time I remember using my email to sign up for something associated with Apple was when I was setting up my MacBook. It asked if I wanted to receive newsletters, notifications etc from Apple and I entered my Hotmail email for it. Don't know if that's the problem.

I have music stored and it wont let me transfer them over all i get is your apple id has been disabled, i have re set my pasword and this has not solved the problem
