Your Apple ID was used to sign into Find My iPhone

I am running iOS 7.2 nn my IPAD 2 Every hour I get the subject an alert that my id was used to find my ipad.  It's my id my ipad so all is good except I didn't search for it How do I stop the messages?

Hi Jason,
You will receive this message any time someone uses your username and password to access Find My iPhone or when they log into icloud from a browser or other iOS device. If you DID NOT log into these services at the times indicated in the e-mail you may want to change your password as it could mean that someone knows your account details and are logging in without you knowing. This feature can not be turned off at this time and was enabled as a security precaution after the nude celebrity photo fiasco. If you no longer wish to receive these notifications in your e-mail, the only current way of getting rid of them is to create a rule in your e-mail program to send the apple e-mail to spam or trash as soon as it's received in your inbox.

  • I've just received an email from 'Apple' saying that my apple id was used      to sign into iCloud on an iphone 5s.  I have an iphone 4.  It's asking me to sign in to confirm my details and change my password.  How do I know if this email is genuine?

I've just received an email from 'Apple' saying that my apple id was used to sign into iCloud on an iphone 5S.  I have an iphone 4.  It then asks that I 'click here' to confirm my details and change my password.  How do I tell if the email is genuine?

Apple will not ask you to click a link in an email. They may tell you to log in to your account to reset your password. Go to https://appleid.apple.com and log in if you ever want to change any information in your profile (or your password). And do not click the link I just posted; instead enter it into a browser.
You can verify the devices assigned to your account by going to https://icloud.com/find (again, don't click it), where you can see a list of devices registered to your Apple ID.
As a general rule, you should never click a link in an email or forum post without verifying it first. You can see where it goes without clicking it in most email programs and browsers by hovering your mouse pointer over it. On an iPhone you can check where it goes by holding your finger on the link (rather than just tapping it).

  • Your Apple ID was used to sign in to FaceTime and iMessage on an iPad

Have users getting emails with subject your apple id was used to sign in to facetime and imessage on an ipad. It will then have another users name listed as
    Dear "that other person"
your apple id (another user than the Dear person above) was used to sign in to FaceTime and Imessage on an ipad.
Why would the first person be different than the next?

    fentonr,
This is what the link in the email displays:
    What do you think?
Delete the email, it is a phishing attempt.
Identifying fraudulent "phishing" email offers tips and provides a way to report it to Apple.

  • How to stop "Your Apple ID was used to sign in to iCloud"

I just started using icloud.com on my pc and every time I sign on it sends a message to my recovery email, not icloud mail, and it drives me crazy especially when I have to sign back in after not being used for a bit. How can I stop them? Or would I register or verify my computer to get them stopped? Always been an iphone user but I don't know much about all the systems and programs. Please help! Thank you

Check your Apple ID to make sure that your Primary email address is the one where you want the notifications sent. At this time, there is no way to "turn them off". This was a security measure that Apple instituted to alert you that your iCloud account has been accessed by a browser.

  • My apple id was used to sign in...??

Since upgrading from snow leopard to lion (which I hate) I keep getting email messages on my MBP (with lion) and my Mac Pro desktop (SL). The messages read "your apple ID was used to sign in to facetime..." or "...to iCloud and iMessage on an iPad mini."
    How do I stop this?

As léonie pointed out, you need to check whether or not this is really from Apple.

  • I have activated iCloud on iPad2 and iPhone4S (both on iOS 7) using the same Apple ID and signed into 'Find my iPhone' still my iphone is not visible in my devices. I can only see my iPad.

On your iPhone, try toggling Find My iPhone off, then back on after a few seconds.

  • HT204053 I want to be able to setup a generic corporate Apple ID to use with icloud and Find my Iphone, that will allow me to have more than 10 devices assigned to the ID. What do I do?

I want to be able to setup a generic corporate Apple ID to use with iCloud and Find my iPhone, that will allow me to have more than 10 devices assigned to the ID. How do I go about creating this account?

I'm not sure if I understand your question, but if you create a new iCloud account with a different ID your existing ID isn't effected by this.  It will continue to work as it does now, you will just have an additional Apple ID.  If you have an earthlink email address you can continue to use it as a separate account, and it can continue to be your default account if you set it to be (in Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account).  If I'm misunderstanding your question, please explain further.

I thought my wife was tracking me through find my iphone and read where they can get an email when it comes back online, but not when it goes offline...  but today i turned off my location servcies and got a phone call from her saying my phone's gps was turned off.  How can she have something notifying her of that??  Just curious.  Not worried about her but what about someone else........

  • Your apple ID was used to purchase Split Lens 2 from a US location.

Got an email from apple this morning saying my apple id was used to download Split Lens 2 from a US location. I looked at the app in the store and it is a free version of a chinese developer's photo filter. I asked some friends and they had it downloaded on their accounts as well. I assumed when I created my apple ID password originally it was strong enough when the little indicator said "strong" but I guess I was mistaken.

This could be a phishing email and not actually from Apple at all.
Carefully check the email address the email was sent from and where any links in the email actually go to.
DO NOT enter any personal details on any website you are directed to, unless you are 100% sure it is a legitimate Apple website.
Strong passwords are not perfect - just better than weak ones. Change it at http://appleid.apple.com/
