  • Sun Ray Software release updates now available

    The following maintenance release updates are now available from My Oracle Support:
    Sun Ray Software 5.4.2
    Sun Ray Operating Software 11.1.3
    For a list of bugs fixed, see the product Release Notes Documentation.
    Download these releases from My Oracle Support, or go to Downloads on OTN for download instructions.

    I'm getting bugged by my gf.. she has an unbranded 5800, a CV but it's stuck on v21.. problem is, her phone is hanging at the start of, during, and at the end of calls.. locking up hard. Thing is, we've never installed anything new on the phone with the exception of the maps update.. She does use it as an alarm clock, so I guess she'd be particularly miffed at it being inaccurate (like I was with my N97.. I now use a real alarm clock instead.. pittyful, I know!)
    Introducing timing issues.. I think she can cope with.. She's not using it to read/access email she really just wants a working phone.. I didn't realise how bad it had got until I observed its performance first hand over a day.. 2 crashes! ouch!
    So, seeing as Nokia haven't released a CV variant for this product code since v21 (which was very late when it came out earlier this year) and it is very nearly a year old.. is it worth forcing the update issue to try and get a Euro generic v31? Has anyone else noticed basic usage stability improvements? That's the key thing.. new features, speed aren't too important.. its the ability to answer a call without removing the battery that's getting her down

  • Will you give up your Droid X to get the Bionic when it is released?

    I am wondering if you will get the Droid Bionic when it comes out, or will you wait for another phone that is reported to be on the horizon?

    I found out last month that Verizon will let me upgrade early. (Before my 20th month) But I do have to sign a new 2 year contract. If I wait until my 20th month upgrade, I will receive an additional "loyalty" discount.  I'm assuming this loyalty discount is what is replacing the NE2 program.  It'd be nice if it was "in addition to".
    Anyway my 20th month upgrade is in March of 2012 because I got my "X" on launch day, so I'm hoping the Dinara or something better will be available by then. i.e. 2nd generation LTE radio etc.
    Until then because my Droid X has been serving me superbly.  The absolute best phone I've ever had.
    Dirk i got my X  the day after you got yours so maybee i can get some of that early " loyalty " you described. will be rubbed off on me. you think    heck with the two smartphone i got from Verizon i should get alott of
    Love from em i get a bill for $163.00    a month an it payed on time. so i think alittle loyalty should come this way.    Just kidden alittle an i'm happy with what i got as well.  But i cant wait to see the Bionic it looks
    really cool even if its only pictures for now.

  • Sun VDI 3.0 patch 2 - linux guest display is laggy/unusable

    Hello.
    We have setup Sun VDI 3.0 to test out ubuntu desktop images. We have it functionaly setup but the lag/redraw is unusable. For example opening, closing and moving windows around has a horrible lag and takes a second or two to redraw. Just doing an "ls" from the command line is noticeably slow. I couldn't figure out any good way to measure the visual slowness I am seeing so I hope my plain english description makes sense.
    The environment is setup as follows
    Solaris 10 update 7 on x64 hardware.
    Sun VDI 3.0 patch 2 (patch 1 behaved the same)
    virtualbox 2.0.10 (version 2.0.8 with patch 1 behaved the same)
    Sun 7110 as storage device
    Desktop Images tried on the desktop
    RedHat 5.3 (32 bit) and Ubuntu 8.04.3 (32 bit)
    We installed the Sun VDI software into the all on one host demo mode. Our host is configured with 24GB of memory (24gb of swap as well per requirements). The virtualbox installs were done on the 2.0.8 version of virtualbox and then imported into the vdi solution. We ran between 2 or 3 vm's at one time so the box still had plenty of ram left since we only allocated 512MB to each vm (tried uppping that to 3GB with no perf improvements).
    The Sun Ray units we tried is a stand alone 270 and 1 2FS unit. Surely i'm not the only one attempting linux desktops. I loaded up an windows XP desktop for testing purposes and it functioned great. Barely noticeable performance difference. Any ideas on what I'm missing?
    Thanks. Deet.

    Dirk.
    Thanks for the input. I made the changes you mentioned and got an order of magnitude improvement! I was guilty of being a Solaris admin looking for a Solaris problem:)
    Deet.

    My HP, purchased in June 2012, died on Saturday.  I was working in recently installed Photoshop, walked away from my computer to answer the phone and when I came back the screen was blank.  When I turned it on, I got a Windows Error Recovery message.  The computer was locked and wouldn't let me move the arrow keys up or down and hitting f8 didn't do anything.
    I'm not happy with HP.  Any suggestions?

  • Your chance to influence the future of Dreamweaver

    Alejandro Gutierrez, the new Product Manager for Dreamweaver, is inviting applications to join the Dreamweaver prerelease (beta) programme. For details, see http://blogs.adobe.com/dreamweaver/2012/11/join-the-dreamweaver-pre-release-group.html.

    I don't know how many people Alejandro is prepared to accept, but it's a good opportunity to help improve Dreamweaver. It's a lot of work, not just a free peek at the next version.
    Beta testing involves working with incomplete features, reporting bugs, and suggesting improvements to the workflow. It involves frequently installing new builds, but you can keep your existing stable version on the same machine.

  • What is new in the upcoming portal 6.2

    Hi
    What is new in the upcoming portal 6.2 ?
    Will the new JSR168 portlet standard be supported ?
    If so... what else that is new ?
    Thanks
    Per-Olov

    Here is what we found so far (6.2 beta)
    - New Mobil Access Pack (Version 6.2) --- oh yea! now your portlets have to be WML compatibel!
    - JSR 168 Support --- and run on any portals anywhere!
    - New Directory Server (Version 5.2) --- lets see if we can handle this one!
    I guess the rest will be given at Sun Network Conference
    in Moscone Center...
    Cheers,
    Alex :-)

  • Do you want to contribute to the Flex open source project?

    We'd like to gauge community interest in contributing to the Flex open source project. Please take this 15 minute survey and be thorough in describing what your particular interests are. Please provide your contact information so that in the future we can reach out to you and keep you informed about our open source developments. We look forward to hearing from you!

    Hi daslicht,
    im also very interrested to know the answer.
    But im afraid they wont because it uses code from other proprietary tools.
    And even if the community get flash catalyst source code, it will be useless (in a sens) mainly because the synergy with other Adobe Tools will not be maintained. And for me it was the main power of Flash Catalyst.
    And knowing that, i think it is more easy for Apache community to create a new tool from scratch not linked to Adobe's tooling chain.
    It could be a Flex app!!
    For you information, the design view from Flash Builder has also been discontinued by Adobe. But in that case its a flex app incorporated in Flash Builder so theres good chances that Adobe will donate it to Apache community.
    So why not use the design view as a base for a Flash Catalyst like tool? by making it a standalone tool or designers.

  • Can you face time with your ipod and macbook with the same apple id?

    I am going to England soon and plan on taking my ipod and leaving my macbook home so I can face time with my family. Is this possible to do if my macbook and ipod are both using my apple id?

    Having spent approximately £1500/US2000 on their flag products it is bit damaging for such a leading and reputable company on market to ask for even more money...
    It's an OPTIONAL extra. If you want it, you pay - just like everything else in life.
    If you bought a laptop from Dell, HP or whoever and you decided you wanted extra RAM, above what comes included, would you expect to get that for free too, just because you spent $2000 on the laptop?
    If you bought a car and decided you wanted the optional sun roof, would you expect to get that for free because the car cost $30,000?
    If you bought a pizza from Domino's and decided you wanted some extra toppings above what comes as standard, would you expect those for free too?
    Dropbox, Google Drive, Microsoft SkyDrive, SugarSync etc. all provide a certain amount of storage space for free as standard but if you want more, you pay.
    If you had decided to switch to an Android tablet rather than an iPad, Google would also give you a limited amount of cloud storage space for free, but if you need more, you pay. You think Google or Microsoft give away extra storage space for free?
    Your expectations are completely unrealistic and out of touch with what is the 'norm' on this planet. Quite ridiculous.

  • Information about the upcoming version of WLST

    Satya,
    could you please share some information about the new features of the upcoming version of WLST.
    I am asking because currently I am trying very hard to implement Python code to setup our entire WLS 8.1 domains (including custom MBeans with our security providers).
    This is maybe useless because with the new version of WLST everything is already available.
    Will the new version WLST support the following topics?
    - creation / deletion of security realms (including display name)
    - creation / deletion of security providers
    - addition / removal of security providers to / from a security realm
    Against these topics I am currently fighting most :-)
    Does anyone have corresponding Python code to share?
    Cheers,
    Torsten

    Torsten, Attached 4 scripts that add atn, atz, audit and remove a provider.
    This script creates a new security ATN Provider of type com.bea.atn.MyNewAtnProvider
    with object name Security:Name=myrealmMyTestAuthenticator
    # The realm name in your weblogic server
    realmName = 'Security:Name=myrealm'
    realm = ObjectName(realmName)
    # The default Identity asserter in your wls
    atnIdentProvName = 'Security:Name=myrealmDefaultIdentityAsserter'
    atnIdentProv = ObjectName(atnIdentProvName)
    # The default authenticator in your wls
    atnProvName = 'Security:Name=myrealmDefaultAuthenticator'
    atnProv = ObjectName(atnProvName)
    # The new provider that you would like to create
    newAtnName = 'Security:Name=myrealmMyTestAuthenticator'
    newAtnProv = ObjectName(atnTestProvName)
    # create the provider
    create(newAtnName, 'com.bea.atn.MyNewAtnProvider')
    # Now add your newly created authenticator to the default realm
    mbs.setAttribute(realm, Attribute('AuthenticationProviders', array([atnProv,atnIdentProv,newAtnProv], ObjectName)))
    # set the realm pointer back on the newly created provider
    mbs.setAttribute(newAtnProv, Attribute('Realm', realm))
    # change the controlFlag's
    mbs.setAttribute(atnProv, Attribute('ControlFlag', 'OPTIONAL'))
    mbs.setAttribute(newAtnProv, Attribute('ControlFlag', 'REQUIRED'))
    This script creates a new Authorizer of type com.bea.atz.MyNewAtzProvider
    with object name Security:Name=myrealmMyAtzAuthorizer' and its to the default realm
    # this is the default security realm
    realmName = 'Security:Name=myrealm'
    realm = ObjectName(realmName)
    # This is the default authorizer
    atzProvName = 'Security:Name=myrealmDefaultAuthorizer'
    atzProv = ObjectName(atzProvName)
    # New atz provider that you would like to create
    myAtzProvName = 'Security:Name=myrealmMyAtzAuthorizer'
    atzProv = ObjectName(myAtzProvName)
    # create your new authorizer of type com.bea.atz.MyNewAtzProvider
    create(myAtzProvName, 'com.bea.atz.MyNewAtzProvider')
    # Add the newly created authorizer to the realm
    mbs.setAttribute(realm, Attribute('Authorizers', array([atzProv,atzProv], ObjectName)))
    # set the authorizer on the realm
    mbs.setAttribute(atzProv, Attribute('Realm', realm))
    This script creates a default auditor and adds it to the realm
    audProvName = 'Security:Name=myrealmDefaultAuditor'
    audProv = ObjectName(audProvName)
    create(audProvName,'weblogic.security.providers.audit.DefaultAuditor')
    mbs.setAttribute(realm, Attribute('Auditors', array([audProv], ObjectName)))
    mbs.setAttribute(audProv, Attribute('Realm', realm))
    This script removes the deference to the Atn provider that was added and deletes the
    atn provider
    # The realm name in your weblogic server
    realmName = 'Security:Name=myrealm'
    realm = ObjectName(realmName)
    # The default Identity asserter in your wls
    atnIdentProvName = 'Security:Name=myrealmDefaultIdentityAsserter'
    atnIdentProv = ObjectName(atnIdentProvName)
    # The default authenticator in your wls
    atnProvName = 'Security:Name=myrealmDefaultAuthenticator'
    atnProv = ObjectName(atnProvName)
    delAtnName = 'Security:Name=myrealmMyTestAuthenticator'
    delAtnProv = ObjectName(atnTestProvName)
    # This will remove the deference of delAtnProv from the realm
    mbs.setAttribute(realm, Attribute('AuthenticationProviders', array([atnProv,atnIdentProv], ObjectName)))
    delete( delAtnName, 'com.bea.atn.MyNewAtnProvider' )
    Thanks,
    -satya
    Satya,
    I will try to put together a script that can dothis
    and post it.That would be great.
    Thanx.

    Hi,
    When I execute my executable jar file, there is no problem but when I open my .jnlp with web start, I obtain my main frame but the queries don't work.

    Anyone can help me please?

    Almost certainly, you need to include the JAR file that contains the class in question as a resource in your JNLP. My personal preference for this kind of thing is to have an entry that actually points to another JNLP for the driver (database, e-mail, whatever you need).
    In general, the whole application has to be packaged so that JWS is aware of all the pieces (other than the JRE)--one other thing I've done in some cases is put the driver JAR's into the jre/lib/ext directory.
