Your computer does not have sufficient memory to perform this operation in Captivate

I am currently new to Captivate 4 and I keep getting this error message "Your computer does not have sufficient memory to perform this operation. Do the following"
I am trying to publish a large project were I recorded voice discussions over a power point presentation. The project is about 41 slides long and recorded using the video camera option. What can I do to stop getting this error message and publish this project. Help!

Hi,
Please check the memory available in your system.
Also please try the following -
- Open your Captivate project which you wish to publish
- Go to menu item Edit > Preferences
- In the Preferences dialog, go to Project > SWF Size and Quality
- Uncheck the checkbox Advanced project compression
Now try publishing the project.

  • Your computer does not have sufficient memory resource to publish your file

I just downloaded CP5 trial version to see what's new.  Is it just me or is it really buggy?
I received 'Adobe Captivate has stoped working' half a dozen times but managed to convert a small CP4 project (35 slides not a lot of animation or voice over) and tried to preview it.  I got the message 'your computer does not have sufficient memory resource to publish your file'.  I'm working on a new laptop with 4 GB of ram and I still get that message even when I kill everything else and only have Captivate running.  I'm working with Windows 7 on 64-bit OS.  Has anyone else run into this?  How much memory does CP5 draw?
Needless to say I won't be upgrading any time soon...
    Best,
    Aimee

    Okay it happened again.
    Here's the error:
    And here is the CPU:
I would be happy to upload the project file if you provide me instructions about where to put it.  However, I opened another project to test if it was just that project and I received the same error.

  • Your computer does not have sufficient memory

This problem is already tracked in a couple of other threads but I wanted to start a new one where I have already implemented most of the recommended fixes but am still having a problem. When attempting to publish various projects, and with no particular consistency, I'll receive this error:
Your computer does not have sufficient memory resources to publish your file.
I always launch Cp5 as an Administrator
    I always clear the cache
All projects have the following Preferences un-checked: Advanced Project Compression and Compress SWF File
I continue to reboot and re-launch until publishing inexplicably works.
Once a project is suceesfully published, attempting to do so again usually results in the same error.
After receiving the error, and attempting to publish again, Cp5 typically crashes
I am running Windows 7 with a 2.66GHz processor and 4 GB of RAM on a 32-bit system
Please advise on any fixes, solutions, work-arounds, or animal sacrifices that will help me out.
    Thanks!

Rather than blame Captivate, this sounds to me like there's something in your project that might be causing instability.
I was having the same problem on one of my projects many months ago when I was working on the Cp5 beta program.  It turned out to be due to having square braces [ ] in the Slide Notes area.  (This was confirmed by Adobe techs after I sent them the project file.)  Apparently there are some characters that should not be used in the Slide Notes area, especially if you use them in Closed Captioning.  It was the fact that I had accidentally included a Notes line with square braces as a CC line that caused the error.  So I removed all square braces, replaced them with pipe characters, and haven't seen the issue since.
Some other questions in case the above doesn't work for you:
Is this project perchance one that started life in a previous version of Captivate and you upgraded to Cp5, or was it created from scratch in Cp5?
Does it do this in just this one project or on any Captivate 5 project you create from scratch?
    How big is the project?
Does it contain any Flash animations that might contain AS2 code or that were published as AS2 (even though they only contain stop() actions)?
Have you tried copying groups of files from this problematic project over to a fresh new blank project to see if you can replicate the issue there.  As soon as you see the issue reappear, try deleting out the last group of slides to see if that removes the issue again.  By a process of elimination you may be able to find the actual slide/s that are causing the issue, and then keep deleting items off the slides until you are able to find the actual object.  I've found corrupt objects this way on a few rare occasions that Cp projects became unstable.
    Hope this helps,
    Rod

  • Your Computer Does Not Have Sufficient Memory Resources to Compress SWF File

I'm sure I'm not the first person to hit this error. And under most circumstances, I would shrug it off and work on cutting the size of the presentation I'm working on down. However, this particular instance of the error is baffling.
To begin, I imported an 87MB PowerPoint Presentation into Captivate 5.5, with recorded audio attached to all of the slides. Captivate is able to pull it in just fine, and I am even able to work on it and manipulate the 18 slides that are produced to my whim. However, when I go to publish the file (which is an integral part of getting the content onto the web), I am struck with this error. The file does have some custom animations that are timed, but through the whole thing there are only 13 of those. So I decided to do some math to try and figure out exactly how much of the 4GB of DDR3 RAM, 16GB Page File, and 512MB of dedicated video memory Captivate was using, to see if it could possibly be running out of memory. Assuming that each slide and each animation gets its own, full-depth, 32-bit bitmap image in the process, that brings the size of the rendered slides up to around 81.7MB in memory. Tacking on the 89MB of the original file again, I'm left with a total RAM usage of 170.7MB that it theoretically should be taking. Much less than the 4GB than the resources available.
And even then, I look at task manager to see, and Captivate is holding steady at 283,076KB of memory during the publication process. And then when I go to look at how much of the RAM is being used, I see only 2.38GB of my 4GB is actually being addressed. That's 1.62 gigabytes that Captivate is ignoring that it could (and should) be pulling from on my 64-bit, quad-core computer. Adobe, telling me I don't have enough RAM when there is1.5GB sitting untouched and unallocated is bordering on absurdity.
I imagine there's a limit somewhere inside Captivate that's telling it not to go past that 283,067 number: every other Adobe program I've used has had some way to let you control how much RAM it can use. But look as I may, I cannot find any way to tell Captivate to use more resources and take priority over other programs. Is there some way to do this, or do I have to break this small presentation down to a handful of even smaller presentations and daisy-chain them?
    Thank you.

Try turning off compression settings in Project Preferences:
If the project then renders out, try turning them on again one at a time until you find the one that is fouling things up.  It's most likely to be the Advanced Project Compression.

When I try to install Final Cut Studio, I receive the error "your computer does not have the hardware to run this software." I just purchased a brand new 13in macbook pro with 4gb of ram about 2 weeks ago. This computer is more then capable of running this software so what's the problem? How do I fix it? I just recently boot camped windows 7 on this thing just in case that matters somehow. Feedback? Comments? appreciate it...

There is no Final Cut Studio 5 (yet). The current version is Final Cut Studio 3, which includes Final Cut Pro 7. Final Cut Pro 5 is NOT compatible with IntelMacs. Version 5.1 was the first version to be compatible with IntelMacs.

  • "changes to the distribution list membership cannot be saved. you do not have sufficient permission to perform this operation on this object"

Running Exchange 2010/latest updates on Windows 2008 R2 servers.
When I create a new DL that I want someone to manage, they received the following message when trying to add/remove from the DL:
"changes to the distribution list membership cannot be saved.  you do not have sufficient permission to perform this operation on this object"
I have followed everything in "http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2009/11/18/453251.aspx" with no luck
    Any suggestions?

Piggybacking off of the discussion above, with our deployment of Exchange 2007, we created a set of web-based tools that allowed people to create Exchange Resources including distribution lists.  To allow multiple people to manage the lists for a given
department, we programmatically created a group, which is populated with one or more users from the "resource department".  We then set the following AD permissions to allow members of the group to manage membership of departmental distribution lists:
Add-ADPermission -User DepartmentalGroup -AccessRights ReadProperty, WriteProperty -Properties 'Member' -DomainController dc.contoso.com
Fast forward to Exchange 2010 and the landscape has changed with Exchange 2010's implementation of Role Based Access Control and I'm struggling to come up with a way to programmatically allow a group of users to manage distribution list membership for a
subset of distribution lists - note that we have approximately 75 departments, with each having its own set of coordinators who should be able to manage distribution lists for their department but not lists created by other departments.  The specific
error we receive in Outlook when attempting to modify group membership is the same as the title of this thread - "Changes to the distribution list membership cannot be saved.  You do not have sufficient permission to perform this operation on this object".
I implemented the settings referred to at
http://sysadmin-talk.org/2010/06/omg-allowing-end-users-to-manage-distribution-group-membership-in-exchange-2010-2/ which details the process of creating a new management role and revoking the role's ability to create new distribution lists and remove distribution
lists (which we want because we want those actions to be performed using our web tools).
All that to say that the ultimate problem we have is that the above relies on the "ManagedBy" field of a distribution list (viewable by Get-DistributionList Listname | fl *ManagedBy*) to determine group ownership.  When "ManagedBy" is set to a user,
the user CAN edit a distribution list's membership from Outlook and OWA.  When "ManagedBy" is set to a group, members of the group are UNABLE to edit the membership of the distribution list via Outlook or Outlook Web Access/ECP.   Furthermore,
Set-DistributionGroup does not allow you to specify a list of users to assign to the ManagedBy field.  However, if "ManagedBy" was set to a specific user and that user logs in to the Exchange Control Panel and adds additional "owners" of the distribution
list, which I can then see from EMS - both the original owner and any additional owners added can in turn modify group membership for the list using Outlook or Outlook Web Access/ECP.
    My questions:
    1) Is it "expected" behavior that while I can assign a group to the "ManagedBy" property of distribution list, members of that group are still unable to edit the group membership?  ...or is there a fix for the behavior I'm seeing?
    2) Can multiple values be assigned to the "ManagedBy" property when using Set-DistributionList - ex: Set-DistributionList DLName -ManagedBy:user1,user2
    3) Any other suggestions?
    Thanks,
    -Lance

  • Microsoft Outlook 2010 The delegates settings were not saved correctly. Cannot activate Send-on-behalf-of list. You do not have sufficient permission to perform this operation on this object.

I am trying to assign delegation to a user and I receive the following message.
The delegates settings were not saved correctly.  Cannot activate Send-on-behalf-of list.  You do not have sufficient permission to perform this operation on this object.
We are using 2010 for the server and client.  There are only specific mailboxes that this is happening for after being migrated from Lotus Notes.  The user can use their mailfile fine however it is just the delegation that appears corrupted somehow.
I'm not sure how to fix this.  I have checked the access through the security tab in ad and that looks fine.
    Any help would be appreciated.

I did some more digging and I solved it.
    This would be the solution:
In Active Directory Users and Computers
    -Click on VIEW
-Click on ADVANCE FEATURES  (this is important otherwise you won't see
the complete list in the next steps)
    -Click on the USERS container
    -Find the problem user's account
-Right mouse the account and click on PROPERTIES
    -Click on the SECURITY tab
-In the top box, click on the SELF account
-In the bottom portion of the screen make sure the READ PERSONAL
INFORMATION  & WRITE PERSONAL INFORMATION  should both be checked for
    ALLOW
If you can compare the permissions for 'SELF' with another user you probably should set them accordingly to be safe. I noticed that for the user where setting delegates (SOB) did
not work, more than those 2 permissions were missing.
    Good luck!
    David

  • Changes to the public group membership cannot be saved. You do not have sufficient permission to perform this operation on this object.

We have an existing Hybrid Setup
    On-Premise Exchange Version: Exchange 2010 SP3 RU1
Users are being migrated to Exchange Online every day.
We've read online that Distribution Group and Public Folder permissions and memberships cannot be modified by Exchange Online users, until and unless all DG and PFs are moved to Exchange online.
I'd like to confirm the above part.
    -Tushar Shah

    Hello,
These migrated users who are owners of the distribution group can't manage it in Microsoft Exchange Online, if you want to manage the distribution group, the distribution group owners need to use on-premises tools for Exchange Server such as the following:
EMC and EMS, and then we need directory synchronization or other tools to sync the changes to Office 365.
Even though all DG and PFs are moved to Exchange online, I'm afraid that we still need on-premises tools for Exchange Server :EMC and EMS.

Yeah but what about the rest of us!
I have two Macbook Pros (Early 2008) with upgraded hard drives that didn't have this clicking (hard drive head parking) issue in Leopard but now do in Snow Leopard. Apple knows this is an issue, makes an update pretty much for every other model but this! I've called Apple Care and no one seams to have heard of this issue even though its all over the internet and they released an update to specifically address this issue!!! Come on Apple, if you going to attempt to address an issue do it for all the computers effected! What my $3000 spent a year and a half ago is no good and what... now you consider my computer obsolete?
*** - I say that since I've contacted Apple about this for the past 2 months, they come out with an update to fix the issue, I'm all excited only to find out my computer doesn't quality & my computer will now continue to pause for 2-4 seconds 100 times a day!!! Apple get it together... Oh and its the same hard drive that is BTO from apple but since I installed it (which your able per Apple) the hard drive doesn't have the custom apple drivers?

  • EA2700 - Your Computer does not have Networking Capability?!

I'm kind of a novice when it comes to networking and computer.  I receently purchased a EA2700 for the house.  I've managed to plug everything in the proper locations, got everything going and internet working on my PC with a wired connection.  Everything was going smoothly until i put the setup CD in to setup the router.  I ran setup and at the loading bar (0%) an error came up saying that "Your Computer Does Not Have Networking Capability".  I'm using Nvidia nForce that came with the motherboard (to my knowledge at least).  I can go on websites and also get to 192.168.1.1 BUT I just can't seem to get pass that networking capability error.  I've also tried to update the Nvidia nForce driver but doing that caused my internet to not work at all.  So I just rolled back to the previous driver which could get me online at least.
If anyone has any idea how I can fix this, please let me know cause I'm out of ideas and not quite sure what I need to do at this point.  Thank you very much in advance.

Refer to the links below for steps on how to setup a router.

how do i install iOS 5.0 without losing anything on my iPad?

If you really do not have enough space on your HDD for a backup of your iPad, you do not have enough space at all. Free up at least 15% of your HDD, in any case more than 0.8GB for the iPad update.
Make backups on an external disk.
After freeing up enough space, try again.
