  • Your copy of safari is missing important software resources

I get this when I try to run it. Safari actually worked for a while. I uninstalled it, even removed it from m y %appdata% folder, rebooted then reinstalled and I still get this error.

This is a petpeeve I have with programs in general, the error messages are too vague. It tells me I'm missing "program resources" but doesn't tell me which ones. Microsoft is also notorious for this.
Oddly, in this case it's an unusual sort of message. Pretty rare in my experience of Safari troubleshooting. (But that might be just a comment on my Safari troubleshooting experience, of course.)
Let's see if we can try "triangulating" on the problem by seeing if any other Apple applications are having trouble with launching too.
Do you have a QuickTime Player installed? If so, is that launching okay, or do you get an error message with launching that too? If there's an error message, what does the QuickTime Player error say?

  • When starting iTunes I continually get an error message " The registry Settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing.  This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes."

When starting iTunes I continually get an error message " The registry Settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing.  This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes."  I have unistalled and reinstalled iTunes several times and have cleaned up the registry using a 3rd party Windows utility.  Any tips on removing this error message for good?

I'd start with the following document, with one modification. At step 12 after typing GEARAspiWDM press the Enter/Return key once prior to clicking OK. (Pressing Return adds a carriage return in the field and is important.)

  • One user: "Safari is missing important resources and should be reinstalled"

I have just installed the Safari 3 Beta and when I open the browser it say:
"Safari is missing important resources and should be reinstalled."
And its on all sites I try to visit.
I have tried to (un)install it 3 times and same problem.
And the scary: Its only on one user. (There not are administrator)
I have the (nearly) same problem when I'd installed FireFox 2.
I solved the problem by create a new user, but I really won't do that again. (Have a lot of stuff to move)

  • Safari on Leopard Crashes:  "Safari is missing important resources..."

I installed Leopard, all was working, today I get:
"Safari is missing important resources and should be reinstalled."
Outside of the normal install, I installed all the optional stuff. I don't know if that contrbutes to the failure or not. The browser starts, works on some pages, then on others dies.
    Thanks for any help.

need some assistance to resolve this challenge, Apple support keeps stating that I have to do an archive and install or a clean install for this situation, I find it appalling that since I have install Leopard, apple support response to any situation such as crashes, their answer is to do a clean install because the problem is to WIDE, I had live dictionary that was in manager input that didn't respond so I deleted it and then after a reboot SAFARI kept crashing it has been thsi way for 3days, any help would be truly well appreciated, I have done 3 clean install in one week, I am no expert, however there ought a be a simple resolve to this???

  • Safari is missing important resources and should be reinstalled

I'm getting the following message in Safari with a "clean" install of Leopard.
Safari is missing important resources and should be reinstalled.
I can get to some pages, but not others. Any idea why I'd be getting this? Google searches report this as being seen in Safari for Windows and non-US instances, I'm definitely in the US and not using it in Windows.

I am experiencing the same problems on my old iMac. (G4 longneck). It will not open any browser window and asks for a clean install. The problem is how to install? Go to the product page on the Apple site and there is only a download for the Windows version.
    Very frustrating.

  • My Photoshop Elements does not start any more. It gives response "Photoshop elements cannot start or continue because of missing file(s). Please reinstall." How do I get the installing file again (I bought it via internet the first time december 2013?)

My Photoshop Elements does not start any more. It gives response "Photoshop elements cannot start or continue because of missing file(s). Please reinstall." How do I get the installing file again (I bought it from Adobe via internet the first time december 2013?)

Did you download the Basic/Free version?
I also thought the Trial period was as long as you needed!?
What is your Warranty and Return Policy?
You get to use VueScan for as long as you want before you buy it, so we recommend you test it before you buy it to make sure it meets your needs.
All sales are final and there are no refunds.
Isn't this a bit harsh? Naah I actually prefer to solve problems, and if I offer refunds, people give up too easily. If I can't solve your problem after you send a few Problem Reports (see above), I'm happy to give a refund.

  • "Adobe InDesign is missing required files. Please reinstall."

    Hi EveryOne !
"Adobe InDesign is missing required files. Please reinstall. Missing files: \Program Files\Common FIles\Adobe\TypeSupport\...\CP1252.TXT" This is the message I keep receiving on CS5.5 of InDesign.
I am running InDesign CS5.5 North American, English, with updates on my WinXP SP3 machine. Local copy, no network server. Yes, I might possibly need a newer machine, or a newer desk, or to reinstall WinXP to fix this one problem, but everything other than InDesign CS5.5 still runs great and I feel no compelling reason to make system-wide changes or upgrade until Win8 has been thoroughly tested and new hardware is released and tried and true for that OS.
So, last year, I received the same message and reinstalling didn't work either. So, I pried everything Adobe off of my computer and reinstalled Adobe PageMaker 7.x. But now I am compelled by my co-workers to use ID, which I have grown to love. I have no desire or $ to upgrade to ID6 but must make use of the ID 5.5. I don't want to uninstall PageMaker as we still use it for legacy projects and it has been a faithful companion to me since it was called Aldus Pagemaker.
My question: what is causing these messages and why does re-installation not help ? If there is a system problem, why is only CS5.5 affected and not my PageMaker and Quark ? I have searched the web and found only related posts (with no responses relevant to me) for users of Apple products.
Thank you in advance for any information that you may be able to provide.

  • File missing... Please reinstall...

My Photoshop CS4 started giving me this error message after a system reinstall (OSX 10.4.11):
"One or more files in the Adobe Application Supprt folder, necessary for running Photoshop, are missing. Please run the Photoshop installer and re-install Photoshop."
I try to reinstall from disk #1 of the Creative Suite 4, Design Premium set of CDs.
I double-click on the "Setup.app" icon and nothing happens.
Wait 5 minutes - still nothing happens!
I purchased this software from Adobe and registered it.
    Why won't it work???
There are posts all over the internet about this 'reinstall' problem but I haven't seen posts about the software failing to reinstall.
    Please help.
    Dan H.

    Found a way ....
But to tell the full story:  you're right in assuming that tipping on Get Media/"Get Photos from: - Digital Still Camera, Phones or Removal Disc" gives the PhotoDownloader eror-message.  And it seems impossible to get rid of it.
And it is possible to get photos from Elements Organizer (which I do not use very often).
The files are JPEG's stored in an extern drive and WAWs from the C-drive (because I think you get a much better sound quality using the free program Audacity - better than the captions you can add on Elements Organizer).  Lots of space on both drives.
But the amazing thing, at least to me,  is that using File - Get media from ...  - Files and folders works . You have exactly the same choices here as you get when tipping Get Media aso.
Well, as they say:  If it works don't fix it.  I live happily using Files etc.
Quite happy to be on trail again - and once more thank you for all your efforts.
    Best regards  Tom Nielsen

  • How to reinstall safari on macbook air?, how to reinstall safari on macbook air?

I am having problems with safari 6.05 on my MacBook Air.  The address window is not displaing correctly and it takes unuassly long time for websites to load.
I thaught deleting and reisntalling Safari would be the obvious and easy option.  But from i have discovered it is not that easy at all.
How do i go about reistalling latest version of Safari?
    Thanks in advance.

    Only by reinstalling OS X:
Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • When I start iTunes I get this message: 'The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDl and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes.' It doesn't work.

I have tried reinstalling numerous times but I keep getting the same message and I cannot use the burning feature.  I have other burning software on my computer but it has always been there.  This problem just started recently.  Please help!

    This same thing happened to me about two months. ago. I bought a new harddrive for my previously-fried netbook, and when I installed iTunes it gave me the missing registry business. So I came online and looked for solutions. This solution led to a different 'can't burn' error in iTunes, and I found a solution to that one, and it was like I was running in circles for a solid two weeks. Finally I managed to fix the problem, but after trying it hundreds of times I couldn't tell you which solution won out. Well, everything was fine and dandy, until I upgraded iTunes last night. Now its back to the same registry settings problem, and I want to maim something. Someone please help me ;___;
I'm running Windows 7 by the way, on an Acer aspire netbook

  • Safari 4 missing from Software Update after fresh install of OS X?

    This seems a little odd...
I recently reset my unibody MacBook Pro with a fresh install of OS X 10.5.6 but, after restarting and going to Software Update, Safari 4 is not showing up in the list of available updates! Version 3.2.1 gets installed but doesn't show any updates? It did last week, but now it's gone?
I know I can download it without using Software Update, I just thought it was strange that it didn't show up. Anyone else noticed this?

    Hi
    Welcome to Apple Discussions
The latest version of Safari - 4.0.1 requires 10.5.7.
