I received the following email. Looked suspicious, but LiveChat couldn't confirm this. The advisor actually asked me to open the Zip file! Unbelievable, but true. When I suggested I would not, he asked for my email address to get back to me. No answer yet. Anyone else received the same email? This is what it said:

I just received this email, too. I opened the zip file (that should be okay, as long as you don't click any .exe or other potentially dangerous files inside it! and as long as you know it's actually a .zip file, and not a disguised .exe or something), and everything was 0k except an .exe file. Needless to say, I'm deleting it.
I wonder if it's coincidence that I recently did a trial of InDesign? That's what raised my eyebrow too.

Lost InDesign CS6 License Key

I had a web designer's desktop crash on her. She had all CS6 applications. I can find keys for all the applications, except InDesign. The previous IT staff didn't do a very good job of documenting or saving keys and did a lot of "one off" retail purchases, so I haven't been able to find a login that has this license attached. Is there ANY way I can find that key stored on the filesystem? I'm going to have some really angry people if I have to purchase a whole new license.

Either way I look at it as bad news for adobe and it's customers. Either a free CS6 license key or a scam.
I didn't open the email so I don't know what type is the attachment as I know I didn't order CS6.
All I know is: sender email in my mail box shows simply "adobe.
                     Subject line reads "License Key"
                      Email shows attachment to it.
                      when I hold my cursor over the email in my inbox it shows preview text thanking me for purchase of CS6 and states my license key

InDesign CS4 Licensing Problem.

I've owned Creative Suite 4 since 2008. I just installed Mavericks OS and now when I try to open Indesign it says: "Licensing for this product has stopped working. Error Code: 5. What gives? All the other programs in CS work. Should I just try reinstalling?

Upgrading an operating system is a total crapshoot and CS4 is unsupported
under Mavericks. My advice is to try uninstall and reinstall. If that
doesn't work, then do a clean install of the operating system keeping mind
that you will be on your own with CS4.

Something else to watch out for. But you'd think at least they'd refer to the current version of the software.

Unable to Use License Key

I downloaded Sneak Preview SAP NetWeaver 04s - Full ABAP Edition with Web Dynpro for ABAP.
I am able to set up the same and i am able to logon to the NSP system.
But when i am trying to use my license key which i got from SDN it is saying the invalid license key. I tried with replaceing ZERO with "O" still it is showing the same. Could any body help me in this regard

to install the license key you should have logged on the windows system with user id nspadm.

my grandson took the battery out to shut down the laptop while it was upgrading, which now it won't even go to my start up, I get error message stating that the computer was shut down , error happen & I need to redownload windows or windows 7 repair disk, we have th windows 7 disk but the license key has worn off the bottom & I can't download the windows disk, I was tld if I hit f8 on my computer & bring up boot menu the serial number would be there & I can get my license key here with the serial number........is he fact or fiction? I am desperate!! I am on outdated toshiba with xp....help please!

HT2240 does anyone remember the url to the old apple page for retrieving license keys?

I cant find my old Quicktime 7 license key. I can't get it from the Apple Store as the link for downloading software license keys was removed a while ago. So Apple did have a page where you could look up your previous software license keys years ago, but the Apple Store design of the present makes that next to impossible to find. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Look at the link on the top of the second page of http://www.google.com/search?q=app+store+lost+quicktime+license It seems to mention something about QTP codes but you have to log into Apple.

Replace one InDesign license key with another

I work for a software integration company that has helped a customer install InDesign CS 5.5 in a terminal server environment.
InDesign CS 5.5 was installed with a license key obtained from Adobe for X number of users.
Now the customer has obtained from Adobe a new license key for Y number of users.
I cannot find any information on this website or searching the wider web on how, exactly, to get this installation of InDesign CS 5.5 to run with the new license key instead of the old one.
Does anyone know how to do this?

As a practical matter, I don't think it matters too much. There's a certain amount of the "honor system" in volume licensing keys, and the real point is that you paid for the number of seats you are using. If the program doesn't complain about it, I would not spend too-too much time worrying about it.
It's not clear to me if your Y includes your X or not; that is, was X=100 and you added 200 seats and now X=100 and Y=200? Or X=100 and Y=300?
Volume licensing key activations aren't any different from regular license key activations, you can still uninstall (or deactivate, I believe) and install with a new key.
But your "terminal server" environment may complicate the situation if Y does not include X. You could have two seperate installs of ID, or you could have ID installed with either X or Y but not both.
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice.

Indesign cs6, subscription, asking for license key

hi. i bought an indesign subscription.
i downloaded and installed it via app manager.
i am logged in as the person who bought the subscription.
i can't start it - it's asking for a license key.
i am using win 8 pro.
i uninstalled my all adobe products on my pc about 10 times and reinstalled them again.
at first i couldn't even start indesign through the app manager - option was greyed out.
after about 7 uninstalls and reinstalls it is giving me the licensing stuff.
update: now after i installed the updates for indesign, bridge and whatever there is no option to start indesign. there is just a greyed out word: "updated". nice!

How do I check license key for my copy of CS4?

With the recent announcement of the new upgrade policy and the issues I have read about regarding upgrade copies of Photoshop
puchased through Amazon, how can I verify my license key for my copy of CS4 that I purchased from Amazon will accept an upgrade
copy of CS5. My copy was not purchased through Marketplace.

Chances are, if the software activated successfully your serial number will be accepted in the upgrade process, but I believe you have to call Adobe customer support to verify it for certain.

I am almost there now, thanks the chat advise.
This is was Adobe tells me: You have a volume license serial number. You need to login to www.licensing.adobe.com website and download the software and you can activate the software without any issue.
I did go there but came no further. Then Adobe said: I checked and see that your email address is not registered under the Licensing website. Please contact the administrator under whose email address the product was purchased to add you as a user and you will be able to login and download the product.
So it is now in the hands of our IT guy who purchased this serial license

@Peter Spier: Thanks, the Installer from that link you suggested worked. I thought I had tried that one previously for InDesign but it was for another adobe product (sorry for the confusion).
I spoke to Adobe representative(s) before I posted on the forum, one suggested going to Other downloads and download the Installer and when I tried it my serial # didn't work, I called them back and another one said I should find the right Installer on my Volume Licensing site, and of course there was no link to download InDesign CS4...
Anyway, it worked and that's what matters, I really appreciate your help.

There's no way to buy CS4 any longer through official reseller channels. If you can get the work done in 30 days you can use a trial, which you can download at Download and Installation Help
