Your Ipad Mini getting Closed-Captioning on Hulu/Netflix?

Good morning everyone! I appreciate you stopping by in here and hope you've at least had some success with closed-captioning on your Ipad Mini.
As a severe hearing impaired person with a new Ipad Mini 2, I depend on closed-captioning (CC). Apparently after setting closed captioning on within accessibility control, either active Hulu or Netflix could not succeed with CC capability. Within the active Hulu/Netflix playing, the setting gear icon included the following: Unknown CC, Auto and Off. Strange as I had no problem on my iPhone and MBA; only on my Ipad Mini 2.
So, were you able to get CC going on your Ipad Mini?

I haven't tried Hulu, but I get Netflix captions without having to do anything with Accessability Settings. After the Netflix movie loads, at the top right of the screen is a small, rectangular icon. That is the Language Options icon. Touch that, and you will will be able to set Subtitles (CC). Tapping the Subtitle language, a check mark appears - and Subtitles are ON. By tapping OFF, you can turn them off. If the small, rectangular icon does not appear at all, then the movie does not have Subtitles available.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

Closed captioning on hulu plus for ipad

hi all - my fiance and i are doing a trial with hulu plus because we were told it had closed captioning on it (we are deaf and rely on it to understand what is being said on all TV shows). unfortunately this was not the case. we have been trying to figure it out how to make this work without any success. a friend has iPad 2, while we have iPad, so we're not sure if it's a major difference between the 2 of them. our friend who told us this piece of info is now out of the country on a business trip and hasn't been responsive so thought i'd try the discussion boards. thanks in advance for any help you can give!

Does your Wifi drop when your iPad mini went into sleep mode after upgrading to iOS 7?

Dear iPad mini users, to those who have upgraded to iOS 7 like I did, do you experienced WiFi drop when your iPad is in sleeping mode? I noticed this problem only few days after upgrading my iOS. Initially I don't think there is such issue. After your iPad mini recover fom sleep mode, then it will automatically connect to WiFi again. My point is it no longer connected to WiFi in sleeping mode and so could not keep me up-to-date with my mail if I am on WiFi.
Do share your view and if there is a solution, do share with me please. I have tried almost all solutions available online but no no avail. At the moment, I am activating my 3G network so that when mail came in, my iPad will notify me even during its sleeping mode but this is getting expensive considering I am using the 3G 24 hours every day now.

I found an solution. Go to Settings/Mail, Contact, Calendar/Fetch new data and than enable Push and choose to fetch hourly or every 30 minutes. In this case your iPad will stay connected to wifi even when smart cover is closed. If you select Manualy than wifi connection will be terminated when in sleep mode.

You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. I use my iPad all the time while it is charging ....like right now for instance. You cannot overcharge the battery, so you have no worries if you use it while charging.

What do you do if you have a thick black line going through your screen of your ipad mini ?

We have seen how much it would be to take it to the apple store and repair it and that would be £156 . Is there another way to fix it by ourselves ?!

ipad mini with 6.0.1 and when i tried to download an HD movie from the iTunes it got stuck at 90% and has been over a day, so I need to cancel the download and hopefully not get charged.
Albeit I tried to stop and resume the download nothing goes pass the 90% ?
Using wifi, and this is the first time it just get stuck, my previous purchase was fine.

Ipad mini getting everyone's text messages

I purchased an iPad mini for my 9 year old son for his birthday. I set it up so that he could share my Apple Store account for purchasing his applications. Somehow he is now getting texts that are directed to my iPhone and my wife's. How do I disconnect him and set him up with his own text messaging?

only 2 options you have is
1. disable imessage in his ipads settings
2. make a special appleID just for him it could still be using your creditcard and email and the likes
but it have to be seperate from yours then you can also use facetime between his ipad and other devices you can't if the same appleID are used

I went to use my ipad and it was disabled which was strange because i have it on my at all times and no one knows the passcode but me. I did a wipe on it and when i went to reset it, icloud was asking for a different email than mine to restart it. An email i have never seen before or know anyone who has it. There is no limit to the number of times an iPad can get an iOS update. Eventually though the iOS will evolve beyond the capabilities of the specific iPad. Tis is already the case for the original iPad. That iPad can only be updated to iOS 5.1.1 and no further. So far all iPads after that continue to receive updates when Apple releases them.

The plug icon will show as long as the device is connected to a power source. Yes, 100% = complete, at least where I was taught math. Your fears about destroying the battery are unfounded. You can leave the device plugged in even after it's fully charged. It will stop charging.
