"your phone is up to date" (stuck on 4.3)

I have a Z1 Compact and whether I use OTA, Sony PC Companion or SUS it says my phone is up to date even though it is on 4.3.
How can I force it to update to 4.4?
Is it blocking it because I am in the United States (where the Z1 Compact wasn't released)?

HI folks,
Lumia 800, I'm on an old firmware 11500, I know there have been at least 2 other updates issued since then not counting the one that's rolling out currently.
But when I connect to Zune and select 'settings'.. 'update' it goes away for a while saying "searching for updates" then comes back with the message "your phone is up to date".
Even if it does not find the latest Tango update, it should find one of the 12xxx firmware updates, shouldn't it?

Thank you for your post.
I would recommend you local Nokia care point as soon as you can you get your device updated as like you said you should have had the 12070 update so this could be something to do with your product code.
But before you go please do a full Sync with Zune as there's a good chance they'll do a full flash on your device.

Phone and Outlook Calendar Date Different

The yearly date on my phone is 2554 and the date with outlook in correct. i have reset my phone but when I sync with outlook the date issue (yearly only). Everything else is correct. Any suggestions what may be the issue?

BB won't honor the $200 trade if your phone didn't arrive by the 17th?

People are reporting all over social media that BB stores are denying people who preordered the note 4 the $200 trade in if their phone didn't come in on launch day??????
Well that is 99% of us.
If this is the case, this is the most dishonest thing I have ever seen from a major retailer. I was specifically told (per the trade in details) that the preorder must be placed in the time line (9/19/14-10/16/14). No mention that the phone must be received on the launch date to be able to use the $200 trade in promotion.
Can a BB rep please respond to this and give us accurate and reliable information?
We have been mislead by so many BB employees throughout this entire preorder experience it is mind blowing.

It is never our intention to mislead customers regarding the availability of products. However, vendor agreements and product availability to influence what information we can give to customers.
A pre-order with Best Buy does not guarantee availability of that item on release day, it simply guarantees that you will have first crack at the product as we receive them from the manufacturer. As this availability can be influenced by vendor agreements, product availability and shipping issues, we are not able to guarantee release date availability. I apologize if you were given any information that we would promise that you would have your phone on the release date or for any incorrect information we supplied about the release date of the Verizon version. How do you restore your iphone from a certain date?

Is there a way to restore your iphone 4s from a certain date (i.e. the last time you synced)? I downloaded a program today that enables me to access work email from my iphone; however, the security restrictions it has put into place on my phone (not my employer's phone) are making me want to remove the program. I have been told by out IT department that I can only restore my iphone & start over from scratch.

Well, if you create iCloud backups, they overwrite one another every night around 1:30 AM, so that may not be so helpful unless of an emergency. The only other way is through an iTunes backup. When an iTunes backup is overwritten, it is sent to the recycling bin. It may take a while to determine which backup you want to open in iTunes, but once you do, you can restore your phone to the backup date of your choice.

Why do i keep getting 'to use data on your phone,you'l need add on pack' texts?

I ordered a pay as you go sim card from EE a few weeks ago to use in my iphone 5 as a second/work phone. The package on the sim is a 'top up £1 and get some free mins and texts (no data allowance)' plan. I put the sim card in my phone and have left the phone at home and not put any credit on it yet or used it at all, ( not even any apps/calls etc ). Every day when i come to look at the phone there are atleast 4 text messages a day from EE saying 'To use data on your phone, you'll need an add-on pack Click here to buy'. I am getting sick of this as i have turned mobile data off in the settings and my phone is constantly connected to my home wi-fi so cannot see how it would even by using any data. Today i have come home to 8 of these messages! I refuse to top my phone up with credit and start using it until this is sorted as im not paying for any data usage i wont use! There are no apps running in the background, and nothing has been set up on the phone that would require internet usage i.e. emails / weather etc. Please can someone help me... Thanks

Is data being used if your phone is in sleep mode

So a few years ago my dad had told me that my phone is always connecting to cellular towers and that made me think does my phone use data even if my phone is in sleep mode or if I'm doing something on my phone that doesn't require data, is a small amount of data still being used

Yes, it will periodically do things like check for email, or perform tasks that you have authorized applications to perform in the background. Now, if you are in a location where you have a reliable wifi connection, it will typically perform these tasks over that, rather than your cellular connection.
You can bet that there is usually a little bit of cellular data usage going on during sleep, even if there's wifi, but we're probably talking about kilobytes.
That being said, you can track how much data apps are using by going to
Settings>Cellular
now, this will give you values since the beginning of time on your phone, so you can't really interpret this very well, you are best to reset those values and track it for a known period of time.

I turned my phone off and turned it back on, I went through the whole process again of setting my phone up and it worked

While updating 7.1.1 there is a sign to connect to itunes and while i connect to itunes, the itunes is saying your phone is under recovery more? Pls suggest how to move forward? it is stuck on that screen for more than an hr now.

You can purchase extra storage from iCloud. So shouldn't you be able to store stuff there as opposed to using your phones storage? How would I sry this up?

The iCloud storage idea is a bit confusing for users because it's not designed to store the files you want. Instead, you can save on it files created with apps that are compatible with iCloud, for example, iWork apps. In this case, you can store data on iCloud, but it doesn't let you to move other files like movies or photos

My phone was stolen and the carrier told me that if someone found it. They could set up an account and activate my phone. Yes I have Icoud find my phone and it is on. They can set up an account and the carrier could not tell me who has my phone. What kind of mess is that. There has to be a way that MEID would not allow this to happen.

Find my iphone is NOT and has never been claimed to do anything in regards to theft.
This is nothing new or unusual at all. it is the same with any phone that is stolen.
