Update says Kaspersky add-on's are not compatible and will be disabled. Who's responsible for making them compatible, and if it's Kaspersky, have they been notified?
Also, should I go ahead with the update, or wait until the notice disappears from the update popup?

I assume you're referring to the Add-On Compatibility Checker disabling your extensions when you update?
To disable Add-On Compatibility Checking you can follow the following steps:
1) Enter "about:config" into the URL bar (no quotes)
2) Right click and create a New Boolean
3) Name it: extensions.checkCompatibility
4) Set it to: False
You can now restart Firefox and it will no longer disable your addons.
Keep in mind that without the Compatibility Checker Firefox can't guarantee that your extensions will work with the latest versions. -

Each time I start Firefox a "Checking Compatibility of Add-ons" update window appears, which redirects me to a welcome to Firefox 5.0 page with my normal home page in another tab. I tried disabling all add-ons and updates as well as the force compatibility checker. I think my AVG safe-search bar might be causing the problem, but I have it disabled and never use it. since I updated firefox I have been HOUNDED by adverts. I read an article that suggested disabling all add ons and extensions but they seem to enable themselves again after I open my pc! I have tried disabling all Add-ons.
I've reinstalled FireFox 6 three time.
Slide show pics fail to load.
I have all of the proper Flash and Shockwave type Add-ons.
I just can't resolve the problem.
Yet my browser repeatedly locks upSending a solution that I have already tried is of no help, but I tried them all again, reloading works sometimes, I have seen in the past that others have had this problem also, of pages not completely loading. So I don't see how you can say I am the only one. When I first started using Firefox it worked great but now it doesn't, one of the updates caused this problem. I guess it's back to IE as it works fine now.

I have the same problem with my ipod touch ... but im trying to find a way to fix it without restoring it...
but one fix is to shut it down completely ... then press and hold BOTH the power button and the home button .. hold both of those 4 ten seconds .. then release the power button but still hold down the home button .. and then it'll show something that says "connect to itunes" once u get it connected to itunes , click the restore button ... BEWARE THIS WILL WIPE OUT EVERYTHING ON YOUR IPOD!!! IT WILL RESTORE IT BACK TO FACTORY SETTINGS , AS IF U JUST BOUGHT IT !!!!! then it should work fine again .. but u will lose all data on there besides the things you have synced with itunes already..
Thats y im iffy with doing this , im trying to find a fix where i wont have 2 restore it but i dont think there is 1 :'(

Is there a way to disable the Add Ons feature?
Every time I boot FF, it starts with a popup Add Ons window trying to download more Add Ons. A few make sense for me, but most do not. Fortunately, I do not have FF set to install the Add Ons automatically. FF says it doesn't support Add Ons, but it certainly is responsible for the action of the Add Ons feature that constantly tries to load unwanted software on my computer. Can the Add Ons be disabled? Or is this another one of those things where everyone is going to say give up on FF and switch to Chrome?

I am having this problem for weeks now.
What I tried:
- Defragmentation
- Reinstall Firefox on a different location
- Change download location
- Start Firefox in safe mode and try download
- Disable all add-ons and plug-ins
- Complete malware/spyware scan
- Complete virus scan
- Delete downloads.sqlite in the profile folder
- Uninstall firefox and delete the entire mozilla folder in Roaming location
- Disabling antivirus
Nothing helps! I'm only having this problem in Firefox. Downloading with Chrome for example doesn't give any problems.
How can I resolve this problem? I'm really desperate.

Based on your post it sounds like you would like to sync your iBooks content with your computer. I have located an article that may help you in this situation. While you can sync this data with your computer you can also use the sharing button to send PDFs using various sources:

Other options it offers: Reset toolbars and controls, Delete all bookmarks except for backups, and Reset all user preferences to Firefox defaults.
My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium, version 6.1.
This is a new computer, came with IE 8, but I don't think I used it much before downloading and making Firefox my default browser. I made some changes in the default home page, added some bookmarks, added Firefox's suggested Add-ons, updated them, and am running AVG freeware version 10.0.1191.
Please help me get Firefox to run in normal mode.I also have this problem and it just started in the last week or so. It seems to be dependent on my home network and the problem only exists with firefox. I have used chrome and IE8 with no issues. I can verify tomorrow that it only exists in my network but one thing I was able to test is that the problem exists even on my linux boot. I am totally dumbfounded with this problem and I can't find anything that will allow the gmail page to load. All other pages I have tried load fine, all be it a little slower than normal but they load. If anyone knows of a difference between firefox and all other browsers on how it goes through the router I would appreciate the info cause I don't know of any differences.
