Youtube API about to change again.

The buit in Youtube app in the E5-00 and 808 will most likely be broken again as Google is updating their APIs.

Hello again,
Seems like i have a big problem with this app i'm building.
Simply its a news app that takes its information from à youtube channel. I need to display videos from youtube.
But the youtube api only displays swf that you can resize, control, etc... But when i load a video in the app, i'm getting errors "SecurityError: Error #3207: Application-sandbox content cannot access this feature". I don't understand why.
I've tried this:
Security.allowInsecureDomain("*");
Security.allowDomain("*");
It display the video when i compile, but as soon as i put it on the mobile device, nothing happens.
Is it because of the "no load external swf" thing?
Otherwise how can i display youtube videos in a flash IOS app?

I'm new to the iPhone Packager myself, but I assume that as no actionscript can be run in a loaded swf file you won't be able to get the youTube player to work from within the app.
The only solution I can think of is to put in http links to the videos, which hopefully will then open up in the built in youTube app.

Are you just asking because you want to know, or do you have a problem you need to solve? I don't know how to write a program, but I think what your are describing is not an unusual thing for a program to do. The * tells you that changes have been made since the last save, and the program reserves a portion of memory for undo functions. I suppose a coder could tell you how it works, but I don't think it would help an average user to know, but that's just my opinion.

When I'm trying to use "action=acl-field-update&acl-id=SCO_ID_RECORDING&field-id=meeting-passcode&value=MY_PASSC ODE" it just clean the password and do not set it or change.
And "action=permissions-update&acl-id=SCO_ID_RECORDING&principal-id=public-access&permission- id=view-hidden" do not work too.

There is not a specific API for doing this. This was discussed in the other Connect forum here, Adobe Connect User Community.
For you call I would make the second part differently. Instead of 'field-id=meeting-passcode&value=MY_PASSCODE' I would call 'meeting-passcode=MY_PASSCODE' and see if that worked better.

Going on what other people have posted your purchases will disappear off the Purchased links for redownloading (they won't be removed from your iTunes library or iOS devices), but as long as you have all your downloads on your backup of your library then that shouldn't be a problem - you won't be able to redownload anything from the Australian store unless you return to Australia anyway.

Where to Notify About 301 Change After Conversion to HTTPS

My website has an approved Podcast channel. Recently for security and other reasons, we have changed the whole website to HTTPS (managed Rackspace), 301 redirection is working fine plus I can manually Edit the XML file to reflect the changes (changes has been deployed 72 hours ago). Support from Rackspace has suggested me to officially notify for the change over email. I will be much helped if any link or email is provided to help me to notify about the change.
(I am not adding the URL here because it is working with 301 and may be, the question will look like a promotive post.)

You don't have to notify anyone regarding Tunes and the iTunes Store. Once the redirect is in place the Store will update and go to the new feed when it next checks the feed - usually within a couple of days. Subscribers will see the change pretty well immediately.
If you are going to use a 301 you should also add the 'itunes:new-feed-url' tag to the new feed so that iTunes and the Store will permanently redirect to the new feed and not be dependent on the 301.

However https may not be advisable. It certainly used to be the case that the Store would not handle https - I don't know for certain whether it can now do so, though I've seen some evidence that it can - so you should check this with the 301 (which you can presumably remove) before adding the tag.

Then you will need the password for the old account in order to update the app.
apps are tied to the apple id that was used to purchase the app.

a youtube video is usually with multiple video resolutions (quality) like 240p, 360p,720p,etc how can I retrieve what video resolutions(quality) a youtube video has are there any youtube api which can get this information
I think If I capture the packets when I'm watching a video, by analysing the packets, definitely I can know what resolution this video provides but I don't know which part the packet provide this information does anyone know this? thanks!

I am no iPhone expert, but I believe it has to do with what connection you are using.
I noticed this the other day, I watched a YouTube vid the other day connected to my home wifi, and it looked amazing. Then I went to show a co-worker the same vid while on the 3g network. It looked like crap, all large pixels and blury. Anyway that is what I noticed.

Loader and Youtube API

I am trying to add mouse event listener to Loader. Loader is loading chromeless youtube player. For some reason listener event doesn't get triggered when I move the cursor on the loader or click.

Could someone give some code or make a tutorial on getting the youtube api v3 to work with vb.net. I have experimented with the examples on the youtube developers page in c#, and javascript, and they simply don't work. They all show errors when run as is.

Trojan Horse? -- "Don't ask me about buying music again"

I'm really worried -- I clicked to buy a song from the itunes store and instead of downloading, a strange screen popped up reading something like: "Don't ask me about buying music again!" I did not click again, thinking I just opened up a trojan horse. I shut it down and began running my Norton Antivirus immediately. It's still scanning; no results yet.
I'd appreciate a response from anyone else who has seen this or knows something about it. Thanks!

I have Norton Internet Security 2006, fully updated, which is supposed to pick up on adware, spyware and the like. It found nothing.
I also use "NoAdware," which caught a few adware items and an "unidentified malware" item (could've been it). I let it delete all of those things.
I also let my Iolo System Mechanic 2006 do a complete clean-off, just for good measure, then re-started.
I haven't had trouble since, but I'm still nervous about the message that popped up because it did not seem to be related to any sort of advertisement and no one seems to have encountered the problem before.
Anything else I should do? Anyone else ever seen this?

YouTube API - garbled up sound

In Tour De Flex, try YouTube API then embedded player then paste this video PuFeb5RH1W8 into the search field. Compare the poor sound quality with the version on www.youtube.com
This is happening to both the chromeless and even the chromed versions that are being invoked via SWFLoader. The same video sounds just fine on various YT test sites, where the same embed players are embedded within html pages. It even sounds just fine within the SareFire AIR application, via webkit.
So, what is garbling up the sound on some of the videos but not all of them ?

However, the same video sounds just fine from within this AS3 YT wrapper implementation.

Applets and keyboard navigation have always been a PITA.
