Youtube App is still a joke - why is there no button to switch to High-Quality on a 3G network with high bandwidth?

I was hoping that with iOS5 Apple is also updating the remaining Youtube App - but NO - the problem: Videos are shown in extremely bad resolution when you are logged in a 3G Network - when you are logged in via wifi then the quality of the same video is superb. The workaround: You have to go to the mobile version of youtube and watch the videos via Browser - there is a button to change to High-Quality manually - this button is missing in the Apple-Youtube-App - why is it this difficult for Apple to integrate this function - we have one of the best 3G networks here in Austria, usually there is a download-speed of approximately 2 - 5 Mbit - there is no need to reduce the bit rate when watching youtube mobile on iPad or iPhone on a 3G network. In early days the quality of youtube videos was very bad so it was not a real problem, nowadays when we "could" watch nearly HD on iPad when being on a presentation this IS a problem. Please Apple, these are so simple wishes ...

Only Apple could answer as to why there is no "select all/"delete all" function in the iOS mail app. Users have been bemoaning this lack of functionality for years now. Like everyone else, you can submit feedback to. Apple here.

While I understand the whole idea of being able to use the phone on the run, if you have an IMAP email account, and if you have access to a computer at work during the day, use your "select all" function on the server and delete all of the unwanted email there and it will be removed from the phone as well.
That doesn't solve the problem on the phone, but it gets rid of the email which is your ultimate goal anyway.

When i go on my phone it says i have 3 new messages but when i click on it i really dont. I turned off and turned my phone on 3 times and it still says i have 3 new messages how do i stop that. Without actually turning on the bager icon thing that pops up on the app.

It sounds like your notification for messages is showing that you have a few mesages but when you go into the app, there are no new messages. I would start by signing out of your Apple ID in Settings > Messages. Then close the running apps on the phone:
iOS: Force an app to close

Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the phone, sign back in, and try again:

If the issue persists, I would next backup your device to iTunes, and restore it:

Already updated to 10.7.4, app store still shows update, why?

Just updated to 10.7.4, yet app store in dock still shows the 10.7.4 update as being needed, is there a way to just make the little red "1" go away?

more likely to get an answer in Lion or App Store support forum.
Someone said it was a known bug though not that long ago.
So if you need to redownload it is a simple procedure to do so.

Why are there 2 iTunes Match switches in iOS 8.1?

Hi there...
is there any sense in having two switches to turn iTunes Match on/off in iOS 8.1???
One is under Settings/Music and the other Settings/iTunes & App Store
The problem is that once i turn one of the switches on and then off again (when I leave my wifi area) the other switch turns on. Then I turn that one off and again the first one is back on. And it keeps going back and forth.
It kinda drives me nuts....

Thanks for that. I have to say that there were a couple of screens that appeared to show both the iPhone and iPad and it was the iPad that was showing the icon!
It is not life threatening, I just thought that something had not installed as it should have.

Why is there no button option for me to view videos full screen?

All videos I watch in Firefox don't have a option for me to click to make full screen. I have to zoom in to view it bigger and that is all I can do. I have a Barnes and Nobel Nook HD+ that has cyanogenmod10.1 running jellybean. Thank you!

Youtube App has (a few) bugs after firware update on 46TL933G

After a video is finished and the next video on the playlist starts, the next video has a black screen. Sound is working, the control bar is working, I can press the back button to go to the menu. However, every video from now on until the restart of the app has a black screen.
If I go to the next video before a video ends, the next video is shown normally.

I did it several times. I don't have any saved channels, since I only use the TV for Youtube and DVDs. Therefore YouTube not working properly is really annoying.
I better describe the error again, since understanding my initial post obviously is hard: The YouTube App works. I can watch videos. Only not to the end! Otherwise the screen goes black (with the menu still working).

I am addicted to youtube app, i have an account, a channel there, everythung used to work perfectly fine, until a couple of weeks, i am not able to see the amount of Likers and Dislikers for the videoes, some videos show for me the likers and dislikers and the majority are not shown. Some may think that the videos im watching may have no likers and dislikers, but i will answer is a Million viewed video is impossible to have no likers and dislikers, plus on pc its shown

Works on mine, "Likes" in green, "Dislikes" in red.
You know the drill by now, try a Reset, if that doesn't work try a Restore.
If that still doesn't work check some other videos and see if all of them are doing it. If they are sent feedback or service your iPad.

Can't sign in to the Apple YouTube App? (3GS)

I was able to sign in to the native YouTube app before, but now when I try sign in it says "You must sign in to YouTube's website to continue." So I press sign in and it takes me to my Google account settings and I sign in, which also signs me into the YouTube website, but when I go back to the Apple YouTube app it still asks me to sign in to YouTube's website. Anyone know any solutions?

YouTube App stopped working on E5-00! Showing conn...

I have problem only with this app, every other app that uses internet works just fine. YouTube App reports the same following error on both, 3G and Wi-Fi. I tried to reinstall the app, but it didn't help. Any suggestions?

I have the same problem (almost) and have been looking for a solution for the past 5 or 6 hours. Can't tell you guys how much I was relieved when I saw "Solved! Go to solution" but unfortunately it didn't work for me.
The thing is, I did a factory reset on my Nokia E63 because of a problem I had with Adobe Reader, and when the phoned turned on after the reset, I found out that Youtube was already installed, but there wasn't any shortcut to launch the app in the Media or Installations menu. So I opened the app manager and deleted it, and then re-installed it ( I installed a 2.04(10) version I found online). And now I have the same error as in OP's picture.
I donwloaded the 2000FBBA folder and tried to copy the files in the C:\Private folder using an app called X-plore (because Youtube was installed in C and there wasn't a 2000FBBA folder in E:\Private). Apparently you can't do that, even with x-plore, so I uninstalled the youtube app, and re-installed it on the SD memory card this time. The youtube app was still not working (same "could not connect" error) so I opened the card on my pc and there was a 2000FBBA folder, but it only had 2 files and a full "res" folder.
I copied the files from your RAR to E:\Private\2000FBBA, put the card back in the phone, turned it on, but youtube was still not working. I should also mention that I did the factory reset like 5 hours ago, but youtube was working fine yesterday, and I forgot to write down the number of the version I was using.
2.04(10) is the only version I have been able to find online. There's this this one but I can't find a way to download it.
This is getting very frustrating for me, and it doesn't help that when I use the web browser and real player to view youtube videos the quality is really bad and there's a lot of "stuttering" and small "breaks" in the sound.
Please I'm open to any suggestions. Even if I have to do another factory reset I'll do it, I just want to watch some videos on my phone

There are a number of developers who have chosen for various reasons not to offer their software through the Mac App Store, so don't assume that if an application is not in the App Store that the application is not available. It may well be available directly from the developer or some other download site. MacUpdate is a good resource for looking for applications:

Will Apple reintroduce the Youtube app for iOS 6??

Hi,
I have recently updated the iOS software on my iPad 2... I was surprised to find that the YouTube app had been completely removed and that there was no good alternative on the App Store :( does anyone know whether Apple plan to reintroduce their YouTube app again or are we stuck with having to use Web browsers from now on??!!
I use youtube a lot and I'm sure many other people are wondering about this?!

YouTube is not now part of iOS 6. However, you can download the YouTube app at http://itunes.apple.com/app/youtube/id544007664.

Why are there always 180 Free Apps when I choose "See All"?

Surely new apps are added daily. Why are there never more than 180? Are there more, but I just don't know how to find them? I feel like I'm missing something here. (BTW - The same question applies to Paid Apps.)

Well, no one really seems to have the answer to the essential question:
"Are there only 180 apps in a category and is it going to stay that way? If there are more, where the heck are they?"
I can't believe that 180 is the limit and we won't be seeing any more!
