Youtube App Not Streaming/Buffering.

Hello all, this is my first post, just got the ipod touch, amazing gadget!
Right, everything is working fine, i am getting a constant 100% signal from my wireless router setup all the time. However, the built in Youtube App in the ipod touch will not stream and buffer any Youtube videos at all. It will try to play the video's on Youtube, but ends up stopping all the time after about a few seconds. I have a 10mb internet connection.
Can anyone advise?

Hello, yes youtube works superb on my Notebook, i get a 100% signal all the time, as i do on my main pc upstairs.
Now here's the thing, i went round my cousins last night, connected to her wireless network, and youtube streamed perfectly, so then, we can assume it is my wireless router, it's working fine, but maybe needs tweaking in its settings?
Can anyone give any pointers at which area to look at?

Is any one else having problems with the Youtube app not buffering properly.
mine will only buffer up to 45-55 seconds then it just stops.

I generally have the same issue with my iPad when using the YouTube app. The odd thing is that I can watch a Netflix video and not experience the same problem. Netflix locks up on me occasionally, and throws me back to the Home screen, but I have all but given up on YouTube.
In case this applies to others with similar issues, I seem to have "slow" wireless with the iPad at home, but have not experienced any connection drops--thankfully. I have a newly refurbished Airport Extreme on RoadRunner. I haven't taken the iPad out any field trips yet as I was terrified I would be the idiot to drop it on the floor at Panera. Oh phooey. I had the same problem, so I decided to delete and reinstall. Only to discover that Google's YouTube app no longer supports anything below iOS 6. This is a problem since I'm running an original iPad.
Yes, I realize that my version of iOS still has the old YouTube app. But it's not the same. For one thing there are a lot of ad-supported videos that will only play in the new app.

I have tried everything suggested on this thread. Nothing works.
Many YouTube videos work for a while and then stop. There doesn't appear to be any WiFi activity and no matter how long I wait the video never resumes.
Using IPad 1. iOS 5.1.1. No more iOS updates available. I can't delete the existing YouTube app and the version available in the App Store requires iOS 6.

The YouTube app is not included with iOS 6. Google offers their own app for free via the iTunes Store, now in an iPad version. There are also third-party alternatives, one of which may suit you better. Jasmine is one that a number of people are recommending. You can also use the mobile version of the YouTube site

YouTube app not logging in

The YouTube app that came on my iPad will not log into my account. Is this a known issue? I can log into YouTube on the web just fine.

Just to clear this up, the issue is caused when a user is attempting to log in through the app when they haven't "created a channel." You will need to use a web browser to activate the channel, then you will be able to log into your account through the app.
The way I know of is to attempt to comment and you will see a link that says "create a channel."

Iphone 4 youtube app not loading

When I try to use the built in youtube app nothing happens. It goes to a blank screen. I can load you tube from safari, but not the app. It was fine and then a couple weeks ago it stopped. I've been searching for an answer. I've tried browsing the app store and then syncing, ive tried syncing while the app is open. Nothing is working. Anyone have any ideas or having this same problem? Whenever I try and login to my YouTube account via the app it tells me to login to the website to verify. Then when I do that, it still won't let me log into the app. Anyone else having this problem?

I have been trying to log in with my YouTube account name and password like usual. I just tried using my gmail log in and it works. Did they merge or something? It was working yesterday just fine without me changing the way I logged in. Either way, thanks for the help! Works great now

iOS doesn't truly multi-task, so you can't run one app in one window and another in a separate window. There are probably some good reasons for this, including battery life, but you'd have to ask Apple:

Youtube app Buffering issues

Not entirely sure if this is the right place to ask this but....
So when I watch youtubes videos that longer than 5 minutes or so the youtube app is constantly trying to buffer. I have fast enough wifi I just did the ookla speedtest and my download speed is 56.84 mbps and my upload is 10.01 mbps so I don't think that's the issue.
The symptoms:
Whenever I watch average length youtube videos through the app (haven't tried through chrome or anything) the video is constantly combatting itself for video quality. I can watch a 10 minute youtube video and the video quality will hop around 240p to 1080p to 720p to 480p down 144p in a matter of seconds. The video will not pause but the quality jumps all the over the place throughout the entire video.
Kind of ruining the experience.
Also when I pause you can watch the buffer bar jump back and forth. Not buffered to ~30 seconds and back like bouncing back for instantly.
Hopefully I'm not crazy and this is happening to other people.

My ISP is cox. I just did another Ookla test through my desktop. Speed is still the same. I had a problem with a teaching website awhile back so I called their support and they had me run some other connection tests and they said that my signal was sporadic and that I wasn't my connection it was the signal coming from my ISP.
Youtube.com works fine through my ipad but the app is still buggy. The hard resest I did earlier brought everything back to normal for about a day then it jumped right back into the same routine. Netflix streams without any issues vimeo is fine too. I'm really starting to think it's just the app and people who are having trouble need to make it a known issue.

IPhone 4 and Apple TV not streaming all video through apps

I have an iPhone 4 and tried every streaming combination I could think of. However my iMovie app, iTunes video preview and MobileMe gallery quicktime video's do not work any longer. I am not sure if it is because I updated my iRemote app on the iPhone. It was great having those apps work because I could save a video and send it to my Mobile Me Gallery and launch the video and then stream it to my Apple TV 2 generation. All of those apps only stream the audio now, but no video. Anyone else tried these apps with success or had the same problem? My Youtube and iTunes video works fine.

Okay, so I am mistaken, but it is also not clear with Apple Airplay, what video streaming will work. Apple should be clearer on what does not currently supported airplay such as movie or Quicktime. I am a big fan of lists that have checkboxes next to the items that are supported. However, with iOS 4.3 I think my "imagination" and "mistakenness" will finally be reality...so my question is mute.

You may have debris in your headphone jack blocking the sensor. Try blowing hard on the jack, and inserting/removing your headphones quickly multiple times to clear it.

It used to be able to stream apps that supports Online Video Streaming , tried Restore a couple of times and it didn't help .
What could the issue be ?

The ESPN Radio is basically a Paid radio station.Make sure you have enuff balance to stream a radio from your Iphone. .
Check if you required to open any ports on your router for ESPN Radio.

Touchpad - Bluetooth audio streaming works Preware Apps, not App store Apps

Hi,
I'm having an issue with any applications I've installed through the App store not streaming over bluetooth.
Any app installed with Preware streams audio just fine.
I haven't tried resetting the touchpad to factory condition..
It's mainly an issue since Grooveshark seems to have been added to the App store and I (stupidly) updated my preware app to the app store one.
No, this is not the only app that doesn't stream over bluetooth.
I am streaming to my Pioneer VSX 821 K.
Anyone have any experience with this issue?
Anyone resolve this issue before?
I tried searching the forums for bluetooth type posts but didn't see anything related.

FYI, if you've opened the Shazam app, it messes up the bluetooth playback with Pandora (maybe other apps too) you have to close the app completely in order to restore normal audio.
So you might want to close all apps competing for the audio playback, and only do one at a time. Apple and audio players have messed up playback on the iPhone.
Does Google Maps audio work over the bluetooth connection?
Is this a built-in bluetooth or is it an add-on system?
