YouTube app question...

Is there any way when using search on the ipads YouTube app that you can search by new released,HD only,etc...?I hate searching in the app only for the results to come up with videos that were from a while back,or w/e.....

I agree with you twiztidfreak.
If ipad do not have a decent application for YouTube in which you can also search by release date, etc...
Then better with no iPad.
I am very disappointed.
I wanted to convince all my friends to buy the iPad. But now I must say to all not to buy.
The hardware is good but the lack of support for flash or at least decent application that can substitute flash is very painfull.

I don't use that app. I just go to the web based site. You can share videos from the site, but not from the app, as far as I have been able to do. Try the web based version and see if you get the same error. Go through Safari is what I mean.

Unable to share videos from YouTube app to Facebook on iPhone

I'm simply trying to share a video from the YouTube app to Facebook. I appear to do everything right, but it never makes it to Facebook.

Filenames of the Youtube app and where is it place...

I want to understand the system, how apps are stored on the e52 and how they are linked with the menu.
e.g. can you tell me, how the files of the Youtube app are called on your phone, and where thoses files are placed?
I can see this app in the program manager and start it via Ovi Store (???), but I cannot see it in the file manager or menu (I searched all folders)
I also see Youtube, if I search my apps with the Application Manager from PC Suite or with Ovi Suite, when I connect my phone with my PC.
Funny thing: Yesterday I installed a "Pipes" from softonic - I downloaded the file to my memory card and installed it - I can see this program in the menu and file manager.
I'm happy about any tipp - this is very disturbing.
I don't want to do a backup of my phone and a deep reset, because last time after this, I had to reinstall many different things - this has been lots of work.

This topic with the invisible Youtube app cannot be solved, because it's a very deep problem - some say, it is a problem of the Youtube app, and I should tell Google, which I will do later.
The handles to solve this problem are on a very deep system level, like explained here:

Most of the important data are hidden and invisible.
As we are all no Nokia or Application developers, we have to use the "normal way":
Saving all private data from phone and memory card - format memory card and do a deep reset with *#7370# (ATTENTION: this kills all apps and settings for apps)
Maybe a backup via PC Suite or Ovi Suite can help saving time with backup of the whole phone - but this is an open question, because it could be, that damaged data are also saved in the backup.

Why is the original YouTube app not in update 6.1.3?

I recently updated and there is no YouTube, can someone please tell me why this is or how to get it back? Much appreciated.

The YouTube app is not included with iOS 6. Google offers their own app for free via the iTunes Store, now in an iPad version. There are also third-party alternatives, one of which may suit you better. Jasmine is one that a number of people are recommending. You can also use the mobile version of the YouTube site

Why YouTube app feels dumbed down

For example let's say I search for a song tile on normal YouTube website I'd get many many results with exactly what I am looking for. Well on my iPhone 4 when I search for the same song I'll get all trash results such as instrumentals, covers and remixes to the same song. Clearly not what I searched for. Now as I understand it not all YouTube videos have been converted to use for mobile yet. Which is fine but I can go onto safari on my iPhone and go to youtubes site and search the same song and have all the results I'm looking for and then I click on one of the videos and most likely it starts to play on my phone just fine. So my question is why dont these videos pop up in the search on the YouTube app? Cause clearly they do work on the iPhone...

Ipad 2 iOS 6 Update App Question

Hi, i just downloaded the new iOS 6 for my ipad 2 and i have a question...why doesn't it have youtube anymore as an app that you can't get rid of? i downloaded the youtube app, that's new, but it's only for ipod. how come the youtube app is still on my ipod then but not on ipad. i really don't know why youtube is gone but other than that i like the iOS 6 update. is there any way for me to get the app back instead of going on safari, google crome, or something else to go to youtube??

YouTube has been removed from the iPad in this iOS. You can download the iPod/iPhone app on the iPad or you can try the mobile site. But you cannot get it back on the iPad.

Troubles with YouTube app

If I try to access YouTube through the built-in app it will not show me all my subscriptions although will get video updates for all my subscriptions under "new videos" - but it will tell me I am not subscribed to them, and hitting the "subscribe" button gets an error message of "YouTube is not available"
If I access my YouTube account through safari the YouTube page shows ALL my subscriptions without an issue although there is an annoying bar going across my desktop view that I can't seem to get rid of ...
The question is - why is there not an available APP SUPPORT/UPDATE for the BUILT IN APPS through the apple store? It would be very nice if a person could REINSTALL a built-in app if they are having issues without having to hook up to another computer - it would also be great if there was a better way to let Apple know when there is an issue with one of these apps as well ...
How the heck to I get the BUILT IN YOUTUBE APP to recognize ALL my subscriptions? (it's an app issue because the same problem occurs across ALL 4 of our iPads no matter the IOS or model)

you can't get the old you tube icon because apple deleted it. BUT you can download youtube app on the app store for free and its actually better and faster than the previous youtube app that you want. hope this helps!

YouTube app problem?

In a nutshell When I play an HD video on my iPhone 6 Plus using the YouTube app the quality will randomly go in and out of HD.My Internet connection is fast and my older iPhones(5s And 5) don't have this issue.Has anyone experienced anything like this?I talked to apple.They sent me a diagnostics test according to which myphone didn't have any issues.Pls help?

Welcome all to the community. We would like to recommend instead of accessing the YouTube application through MY APPS try going through the ALL APPS option and then select the YouTube application from that list. Once the application is launched to show the menu please press the LEFT ARROW to be able to see options such as “ My subscriptions ” ,“ History ”, " Favorites " " Playlists " among others , since it could be that the update didn't affect the thumbnail added to MY APPS of the YouTube shortcut.
Here is an example of what to do:
Press the HOME button, then select [Apps].
Select [All Apps] →select → press the button.
Once the application is launched press ◄ arrow to display the menu

YouTube app account?

I had signed up on YouTube app on iPhone. It was working perfectly. For some reason I signed out and forgot all my account details. Now i am unable to retrieve that information from anywhere. My YouTube works fine in safari with google account, but the app does not accept google account. I cannot access the app through my iTunes and apple ID. And there is seemingly no option of creating a new account on this app! Can anyone help me pleae?

Found this solution from a simple search of your question which has already been answered:
If you have linked Youtube to your Google account, you should use a different password. Do the following:
1) Go to the page of your authorized apps here:https://www.google.com/accounts/IssuedAuthSubTokens (you can also access it from the My Account link in the top right corner of YouTube page online).
2) Scroll down to the section "Application-specific passwords".
3) Create new password for Youtube on your iPad: enter some name in the field so that you will recognize it in the future, and click "Generate Password".
4) Note the new password in big letters appears on the screen, 4 groups with 4 letters each.
4) Now on your iPad open the Youtube app.
5) Enter your google account handle (i.e. "[email protected]") and use the new password (not your Google or Youtube password), this only appears to work in 'my videos' section.
Youtube app will log in to your account — you can make sure of it as you will be able to see your subscriptions and favourites.

Some apps questions

So I'm considering getting an iTouch, but I have a couple questions about the way a couple apps work:
1) Maps: If I go online, look up a map, and then go offline, will I still be able to access the same map screen I had when I was online? This would be really helpful functionality, to be able to use the iTouch as sort of an ad-hoc GPS.
2) Safari: Similar question. If I have a page open in Safari and then take my iTouch offline, will I still be able to look at the page?
3) Youtube: Same question.

1) Yes maps keeps hold of your last search area or directions that you have looked up. I find it helps to move the map around whilst it is online and go through the directions completely so that you get a wider area saved when you go offline.
2) Yes safari does keep the last page you looked at but I have found this may only be for a certain amount of viewings. So if you look at the page but come out of safari a number of times to use another application you may eventually loose the page as safari will try and refresh itself.
With both maps and safari I sometimes make a note using 'Notes' of information I need (being a regular train traveller I often look up train times in safari and then write them into Notes so I don't run the risk of loosing the information when I go offline).
3) Youtube is a no.
I have found ever since I got my iPod Touch I use it all the time and is by far one of the best gadgets I have ever purchased. If only the iPhone had a 5mp camera with flash and I'd definitely get one of them!

My ipod wont let me get on youtube from the browser and the youtube app is always slow

this suck because my youtube app takes like 10 min just to play a 3 min video while on the broswer it took like a minute to get it all ready to play

In Safari search for m.youtube to go to the mobile YouTube site. It works on the iPod.
