YouTube Clips in iWeb

Hello There,
I have uploaded student videos to YouTube so that I can link to them on my website. The widget works well, but when the actual student video is over, YouTube automatically provides links to related videos that may not always be appropriate for my kids. Is there any way to turn this off?
I am trying to figure out how to ask this question on the YouTube forum as well, but it is not as straight-forward as this one is.

Have you considered putting the videos on your own website?
You can put one per page if you want and exclude these pages from the navigation menu using the Page inspector. Hyperlink to these pages from the main page. If you use an external, rather than an internal link you can set the page to open in a new browser window.
If you want to display a bunch of YouTube movies on one page this jukebox player can work for you....

I'm not a YouTube fan and prefer to use Vimeo. I think the free version allows you to upload about 500 Mb if this is enough for your needs......

  • Embedding youtube clips...

    Hi Guys -
First time poster here... just curious to how the best way is to embed youtube clips into my site/blog with out having to link to the youtube site? Do I need to add a space for it on my site or will it do it for me?
Is it best to add the embedded link to a text box?
    Thanks in advance

You can also do it for free.
You can add just about any type of html code, widget, or add-on to your iWeb site if you are willing to do a little post-publish editing.
    Basic Instructions are here:

  • Using Windows Media video clips in iWeb

I purchased Flip4Mac to begin encoding Windows Media movies for publishing via iWeb. I have discovered it is not possible to include Windows Media clips in iWeb pages. iWeb automatically queues QT on any browser viewing the page with a movie embedded regardless of the movie's format. Is anyone aware of a work-around for this?
As much as I like QT and besides the fact that it is a far superior product to Windows Media, QT has a very limited presence on PCs where admin. privs. are required to download software. This excludes a significant number of corporate machines and libraries, a big viewing market for my site. Since my site is basically a video clip library, I'd like to find a solution for this.

YOU ARE RIGHT "MOST" people will see your stuff on a windows PC
HERE IS A SUPER SIMPLE SOLUTION that will pull up the windows media player & play your video
You need to make a non-movie page, any will do. Start your movie and take a photo of it with shift-apple-4. This will give you an image of the movie and also the Windows Media Player frame. Place this image on your page, give it a title etc and make sure the image is selected. Using the inspector, chose Link to File. When you do this, navigate to the wmv file that corresponds. When you upload your site, that file will be stored along with it and when the link is hit the wmv movie will launch
    PIECE-O-CAKE!

  • Embed a Youtube clip in Golive

I would like to embed a YouTube clip in my website, in a way that you can see the clip in the site, and only have to click on it to start it working.

Copy the embeddable HTML that YouTube offers on every video it serves and paste it in GoLive's HTML.
If you are not sure where to place it in GoLive, do this:
While in design view, type the phrase "PUT IT HERE" wherever you want the video to appear.
Now switch to source/HTML view in GoLive and locate the phrase "PUT IT HERE". Now replace it with the HTML supplied by YouTube.

  • Why do the youtube clips not expand properly when I double click on the page

why do the youtube clips not expand properly when I double click on the page

The exclamation mark is telling you that iPhoto has broken the file path/link to the original file. Assuming you're using iPhoto 9 or later Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Captivate 5.5 - How to return back to slide after YouTube clip?

I have a button on a slide which launches a YouTube clip, how do i get it to automatically return to the slide when the clip finishes?
Keep it simple please - I am new to this!!

    Hello again
That's a tough nut to crack. When you open a new window, unless you are using JavaScript to do it, you really don't have any control over what happens with it. I suppose there *MIGHT* be something you could do with JavaScript to sense when the movie has completed. I'm not sure if that's even possible. But if it is, it would be somehing you would have to resort to JavaScript to accomplish. And that's far beyond the scope of what I'm able to tell you or even what this forum is designed to help with. Sorry
Best of luck to you in finding a good solution! Rick

  • I used to be able to view youtube clips on ipad but now it only offers dropbox - how do i fix this

Whenever I receive an email with a youtube clip attached, when I try to view it on my ipad it now only offers dropbox to open it and it won't open.  It says it can't be viewed.  I want to be able to open these files the normal way before I had dropbox as dropbox is very frustrating.  I can open the clips on the imac without any problems.  How do I fix this frustrating thing please?

Could you clarify where you are doing your search?
''For Firefox's "Search bar",'' which is the box on the right end of the main navigation toolbar with the icon indicating your currently selected search engine, there is a hidden setting for this:
    (1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''sear''' and pause while the list is filtered
    (3) Double-click the '''browser.search.openintab''' preference to switch it from false to true.
If you test, does it work?
''For searches from other places,'' could you be more specific about where you are entering your query (e.g., address bar, built-in home page, on a search engine site)?

  • How to Play iTunes and watch YouTube clip simultaneously?

I am trying to play iTunes in the background and check in YouTube clips at the same time. itunes fades out whenever I play a clip. Anyway to play and watch at the same time? I don't mean play youtube in the backgriund either. I understand there are apps for that.

Since youTube videos have a audio track this will take precedence over your background music. So, no you can't do this.

  • Saving YouTube clips to view offline

I would like to save a YouTube clip for viewing when offline. Is there an App I can download to do that?

I'm not sure that Linc is correct. Because it's too easy to download YouTube files!
I use JDownloader. To get the video's URL, right click over the video and choose Get Video URL.  If JDownloader is open, it usually detects the clipboard's content and alerts you to the available download, otherwise you will need to paste the URL into JDownloader.

  • Downloading Youtube clips off of net into .mov files-is this possible?

Hello, is there a way to download a youtube clip off of the internet and get it into a .dv or .mov file? I would like to get it into a quick time file and onto a CD. I will post this in the other forums, but if anybody has a solution, I appreciate it. Thanks.

    Yes it is very easy.
    First, download Perian
    http://perian.org/
no Quicktime user should be without it, but I don't know whether you need it for this exercise, as I already had it when I started using Youtube.
In the Window menu of Safari, choose Activity.
You will see all elements of the page-
Double-click the element which is of the flash movie file (this is usually the largest one if loaded, or the one which is still loading if movie is still loading)
The flash movie will download, but you need to add .flv file extention on the end of the filename.
It will then work with Quicktime, just like any other movie.

  • Is it possible to embedd other Non YouTube videos on iWeb sites?

You know how there's a YouTube Widget that lets you easily embed YouTube videos on iWeb sites? I imagine this Widget doesn't work for none YouTube videos (e.g. MetCafe), so how do we embed those on our web site pages?

Use an HTML Snippet and an iFrame code.....
    http://web.me.com/roddymckay/Web-Media-Test/Night-City.html
There are two versions of the same movie on this test page. One uses the Vimeo code and the other uses an iFrame code with the URL to the Video.

  • Recently having a problem viewing youtube clips embedded on to ppt

As a lecturer, I often insert youtube clips onto my ppt. Until about a month ago, I never had problems viewing the embedded youtube clips on my powerpoint files. Now, after having succesfully embedded the video clips, I keep getting this message as shown in the screen shot below. I have installed the newest version of flash player numerous times (my OS is Window Vista and the Flash Player version I have is 11.7.700.169, AND I mostly use Firefox but have the same problem on IE), turned off and back on several times, and uninstalled and reinstalled the Flasy Player many times, but nothing would work. I have tried embedding other youtube images as well as tried doing the same thing on other computers and I run into the same problem. I KNOW how to embed youtube videos into ppt files as I had done it a lot of times with no problem. I don't assume I am the only one experiencing this problem. Please help!
PS: Sorry, didn't know the screenshot doesn't work here. So the message I get is "To play the selected item, you must install a later version of the Adobe Flash Player. To download the Adobe Flash Player, go to the Adobe website."
