Youtube fullscreen playback a little jumpy.

Youtube seems to playback a little jumpy when in the fullscreen mode.
I am sure this processor can handle it, how is it for your powerbooks???

Sorry for the double post,
Apple forum's servers seemed to be having problems and kept giving me errors.
I have found a solution to the problem i asked about, it seems that flash does not support hardware scaling of video in fullscreen mode, but a new beta version that adobe has just released includes this.
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1ProdVersion=ShockwaveFlash
If u are finding youtube or other flash based video a bit jumpy or having 'splits' across the screen in fullscreen mode, download this beta (at least until they make it an official release).
I guess kick *** new processors relied on power to display the video well.

You can check for problems caused by recent Flash updates and try these:
*disable protected mode in Flash 11.3 and later
*disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

• YouTube Fullscreen Choppy Playback with mid 2011 iMac

Hello,
I have a BTO 27" iMac with 3.4 GHz i7 and the 6970M 2GB graphics card. Everything else is stock. The problem I'm having is that with every YouTube video at any quality (240p, 360p, 480p, 720p, 1080p) played in fullscreen, the playback is choppy. It's not my internet connection because I've even let the video load completely. Also when I exit fullscreen, it's perfectly smooth. This is very surprising to me. However, with Vimeo and other flash videos at fullscreen the playback is nice and smooth. Has anyone else experienced this? What do you recommend? In the mean time I've been doing the scroll to zoom to fullscreen videos.

Thanks for your reply. What you restated is correct. With any browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox), YouTube within the window plays fine until I click fullscreen. When I exit fullscreen it's back to smooth. I checked the Graphics section and everything looks fine. This is what I see:

I just did a complete shutdown and booted it up again. Still choppy. I'm guessing it's an Adobe Flash thing but if no one else with the same setup as my iMac is having the same problem maybe I should bring it up with Apple.

• Youtube video playback is jumpy.

Youtube was working fine for me a few days ago. Now, when I play videos they are jumpy and shaky. The audio is fine. I have already tried a software update, flash update, and rebooting. What can I do to fix it?

Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Advanced tab.
Click Delete All under Browsing Data and Settings
Not empty the Safari cache.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Select:  Show Develop menu in menu bar
Now click Develop from the menu bar. From the drop down menu click Empty Caches.
Now try a video.

• Youtube fullscreen video playback does not respond with more then one tab open.

Right, so i've got a dual monitor set-up, and I've found that if I have two or more tabs with youtube videos paused, and I start one in full screen, then click my second monitor, the flash plugin essentially crashes. the video still plays apparently, or at least the sound does, but I cannot click anything, trying to change tabs or do anything on my secondary monitor does nothing other then grey it out saying that it's not responding. Same with my primary monitor if I try to alt+tab out of the flash player fullscreen thing. I have found that ending the flash player process imediately gives me control back, since it's forcing the fullscreen to shut down, but if i do not do this, then I have no access to my browser for several minutes.
Does anyone know what i need to do to fix this? I've trying turning off hardware acceleration and the various commonly suggested fixes, and they don't do shit. So please, help me figure this out. if you need more information, I can provide it.

I should mention that I have this problem in safe-mode as well. all addons are dissables, and I still have this problem. I've already tried re-installing adobe flash, and still nothing changes.

• Windows 8.1 and Desktop IE11 | Youtube fullscreen mode crashing on Flashplayer

Hello
I have problem with flashplayer on desktop IE11. When i try to toogle between normal size mode video on youtube to fullscreen my IE11 crash on flashplayer problem.
I have flashplayer add-on enabled and ActiveX filtering too.  And even your website wrote me that i dont have instaled flashplayer on my system or in browser (tried from desktop IE).  I tried download solution for windows 8.1 on your website but it doesnt work cuz its only system update and i already have it. And others doesnt work too cuz i have integrated flashplayer for Metro IE in my system from updates.
I want to use my desktop IE instead of metro IE. Can you help me pls? In metro IE it works normaly.

Well, if you're an IT guy, then you should know..
IE is a Microsoft product - Adobe can't fix it. Only Redmond can, and they've given NO indication that they're in a hurry to do anything about IE11, which has caused widespread problems with Yahoo, Facebook, BBC, CBC, ESPN, NBA and NFL websites to name just a few.
IE is the ONLY browser left on earth using ActiveX controls (circa 1993) which EVERYONE else abandoned twelve years ago - they cause more problems than they solve - Adobe can't fix that.
Microsoft modifies and embeds the Flash Player plugin for IE in Windows 8 and 8.1. Adobe writes the base code and does collaborate with Redmond on updates and fixes, but the Win 8 plugin for ActiveX is Microsoft's baby once it goes into the browser. If they screw it up, it's gonna be their fix.
Most of the web will be using HTML5 for video by the end of 2016. YouTube has already converted the majority of exisiting pages, and the code's already in place for new uploads, to automatically determine if Flash is installed and switch to HTML5 if it isn't detected. DailyMotion and Yahoo are doing the same, but not as fast or far along as Google. With the majority of web user on smartphones, Flash will see less and less use as time goes by. Adobe is aware of this. Knowing that aside from games, Flash will be almost non-existent in two years, just how eager do you think they are to develop new and better versions of it? They've dropped Linux development except for security fixes. Android dropped support last year, and Adobe ended security developments for Android Flash Player in September.

• YouTube 3D playback with black screen

I have desktop and laptop Win 7 Pro 64-bit computers both with latest Firefox and Adobe Flash Player.  YouTube 3D videos (latest squashed format) playback fine on laptop but have black screen on desktop.  I tried older version of Flash Player and disabling hardware accelaration on desktop which did not fix problem.  The 3D button responds with "An error occurred, please try again later." only on the desktop.  The laptop works fine.  The same problem applies to the latest IE with the latest Flash Player on the desktop.  I am looking for new suggestions to fix problem.

I just tried to install Premiere on my new MacBook Pro as well but I'm still not able to playback the picture. The sound works but the playback screen is completely black.
MacBook Pro (Retina) OS X: 10.8.2.
Adobe Premiere Pro CS6: Version 6.0.2 (072 (MC:264587))
Source Footage: Quicktime (56 gb in one file): Apple ProRes 422, Linear PCM, Timecode.
I also have some smaller clips in this Quicktime Codec: H.264, Linear PCM.
No error messages. Sometimes the program just freezes and I have to force quit it. Or it just won't playback.
It was a entirely fresh install of the software. I'm a member of adobe cloud so I downloaded it from the application manager.
I'm also running photoshop and inDesign which are working just fine. At the time i launched Premiere no other Adobe programs where running. Just programs as: textedit, mail and evernote.
No third-party codecs installed.
Tried to update Premiere with the latest updates but that didn't do any difference.

• How to fix YouTube HTML5 playback?

All I want is to have 1080p available for YouTube with HTML5. The only way to achieve this I know of is enabling MSE (media source extensions). Enabling the required option [1] leads to stalled playback of videos. They don't play. Sometimes they do buffer. They may play for few seconds. Once they stall, it's done.
Additional info:
It seems that when HTML5 playback ceases to work, Firefox will also refuse to close its process upon closing.
Image PID Hard Faults/sec Commit (KB) Working Set (KB) Shareable (KB) Private (KB)
firefox.exe 1112 0 974 740 927 388 67 800 859 588
What I have already tried?
confirming I'm actually on HTML5 player
Restarting without addons.
Clearing all history, cache, cookies etc.
enabling all 3 options below
[1] media.mediasource.enabled
[2] media.mediasource.mp4.enabled
[3] media.mediasource.webm.enabled

Hello Ayanna R
Verify that you have done some of the other steps in the article below to resolve issues with audio playback. The only other advice I can give is updating iTunes.

• Fix for slow fullscreen playback on xp = firefox

Ever since updating, i had a similar problem to alot of people; Apon full screening, the player ran like crap. At first, i thought it was fire fox, but i tested i in chrome, and it had the same problem.
this method worked for me>
http://www.help2go.com/Tutorials/Web_Browsers/Force_Flash_Movies_and_Animations_to_Low_Qua lity.html
Its an addon for firefox, plus a script, that forces the flash players gui to go into low quality mode, and improves the framerate of vidoes on hulu/youtube/etc extremely well in fullscreen.
The other side of the sword is that watching flash movies or games, you have to manually select a higher quality; A fine sacrafice considering youtube/hulu/etc don't even allow you to select the quality of the player itself.
The last few upgrades caused sever degerdation in framerate each time i upgraded when it came to fullscreen, streaming vids. This is a work around for firefox users, not a fix. The cause lays withen the program itself.
And i would like to personnally say, the whole "make sure your drivers are up to date" statement, has been cliche since the late 90's, and is just as useless now as it always was. What, you need the GUI to be in HD now too? If i wanted to watch HD, id use my TV and blue ray player, not watch youtube.
The problem is with your program, it is degrading preformance over every update for a large group of users, with no concernable gain from it. As it is, you are making silver light look like a very well programmed and executed video player, which is terrible. Why don't you "update" again and add a new "feature" that randomly stops half your consumers from even using the program? "Check my drivers?" Yea, go to hell, this isn't 1999 and as widely used as your program is, trying not being a ****** about it.

I don't know which versions of photoshop need to check/contact the network printer...
For volumes of image processing via the batch commands I often need to use our old Photoshop 6 which, even with the network (a fairly large corporate network) the files open up almost instantly... every time... unless they're huge print resolution images...
On the same network for such a task (batching hundreds of images) PS CS3 is unuseable to us unless we implement the local printer 'fix'... and even so, there is more of a delay than with our old photoshop...
And why does it need to contact the printer for each file that is opened? For the first one, sure... check it, done... I'm not printing dammit, just opening files.
If it needs printer information the local OS already has drivers loaded up, couldn't it check those? It shouldn't have to look for other network devices on there unless it's using them... but I'm no tech... so there must be a reason that it simply MUST do it...
And even so... why is this 'fix' so damn hard to find on the net? Tons of people with issues and a lone, difficult-to-find blurb as an obscure fix...?

• My fullscreen playback doesn't play any sound

I just go the latest iTunes update (as of 19th of September, 2013) and since then I haven't been able to play any of my movies, tv shows or podcasts with sound! Why is this? Please help ASAP!

OK - I had this issue with iTune movies downloaded from store, newly with iTunes 11.1, affecting all movies, even those that were once fine.  The sound plays fine (Apple cinema display & sound) in large window mode but disappears on fullscreen (repeatably, coming back if fullscreen is exited).
A fix that works for me is to switch back and forth between playing on this (my) machine and another local authorised machine using Airplay - of course you can do this without interrupting playback and without exiting fullscreen using the button on the control bar.  On re-selecting 'computer' after allowing the switch to complete the sound comes though fine, and this seems more-or-less stable once done*.  I do not know if the other machine works, too (it is a server with no normally-on display).
FTR things that do NOT work include permnissions repair, reboot, re-alunch iTunes etc.
*PS - it works but is not stable; you can switch in and out of fullscreen without losing sound but if you switch movies (or come back to a movie previously watched) you have to go round the loop again.  We need 11.2 please Apple!

• Youtube video playback freeze

Hi,
I've been experiencing a lot video playback freezing, I've noticed it happens on youtube. It is not my internet connection, the video freeze even it's already been downloaded. It happens with all video resolution from 360P to Full HD, I've tried all majors Internet browser: Firefox, Safari, Chrome.
I have Leopard, a 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo with 2GB of RAM.
A 250GB HD with (at least) 10GB of free space.
It shouldn't freeze for so low quality videos.
Any help?
Cheers,
-- rafael

Do you have powered speakers or headphones plugged in?
If so, try unplugging them and seeing if it will play the video.
I started having this problem right in the middle of watching a video and it would freeze playback every time I plugged in my speakers. Internet searching yielded no results, but an OS software update from 10.6.2 to 10.6.4 fixed my problem. You say you have Leopard, so I am not sure if a software update is available for you, but check under the apple menu > Software Update. If there is an update related to the operating system, install that. It worked for me!

• No sound during fullscreen playback iTunes.

After updating my iTUNES to Version 12.1.2.27. There is no audio during fullscreen video playback. Audio is normal during windowed playback.
I'm using a Macbook Pro retina 13" with OS X 10.8.3. Even after increasing or decreasing the audio level in fullscreen there is no sound. Please help.

Hi!
Welcome to the discussions and to Macs!
Don't know about your specifics, but a simple thing to test is to look at the iDVD menu for the titles....I am assuming this is on a submenu....to see if the audio icon is active. If you look in the audio well, there should be a tiny icon with wavy lines. If it is not present, click on the audio well and it should return. It is very small...I almost could not see it.
You cannot see this if you have any audio files in the well, so remove the file first.
I am sure more knowledgeable users will offer their advice as well.

• Youtube and Playback Display too Small on Surface Pro 3

On my new Surface Pro 3 the display and playback of YouTube, Netflix, and most sites is miniature if not completely too small to use at all. The issue only arises on Firefox and since it is my browser of choice, I am desperate for a solution.

Here is the image.

• Youtube fullscreen problems.

when i press full screen button on youtube, it goes to full screen but covers odd dimentions. it doesn't cover the whole screen and leaves the uncovered video display area on the screen blanked out. however the buttons to exit full screen when in full screen lighs up when i go to the bottom right corner where the full screen button normally is. so i think it is just display problems. i can clcik in the bottom right corner and i will come out of fullscreen but it doen't show the button to exit full screen on the bottom right corner. it shows it according to its weird dimentions that it does sometimes that display corner could be in the middle of the screen when in full screen and the ret of the screen is blanked out. i really need help!!!!!!

From the top 10,000 programmers in the world, be sure that a HUGE amount of them use linux. Less flash applications created by them, more HTML5 applications created by them.
Personally, for me, flash is the last choice to program something (it made the bad impression already, for too long, no fix possible) but still many webpages in the world use Flash for small games, etc... And that works for me like a ****.
Try a week with your flash on ubuntu, like me, adobe. You won't be surprised.
Have you tried our Flash Player 11 RC build on labs out?  If not, please give it a try and let us know what you think.  If you find specific issues, please feel free to document them as new bugs over at bugbase.aodbe.com.

• Fullscreen playback not working

How do I get final cut pro to play back in fullscreen? Every time I click on View>Video Playback>any of the available choices, it RARELY works. I've been able to get final cut pro to play back fullscreen maybe once or twice.
Is this a bug in the program? If so, is there a workaround to fix the bug?
I've tried this on both final cut pro 7 and 6, and the same thing happens with both.

Neverind, I just figured it out. Just in case anybody else wants to know, first you have to select video playback and click on which display you want, and then you have to click on View>External Video>All Frames, or Command-F12
