YouTube HTML5 videos are choppy in Windows 10

Disabling hardware acceleration addresses the issue. Does not repro if I play them in IE or Chrome on the same machine.

It makes sense for Mozilla to invest some time in an OS that many millions of people will be upgrading to, albeit I can understand having to wait until developer documentation is released so that Firefox devs can troubleshoot effectively. :)
Regardless, I've filed the bug with Microsoft - it might just be an Intel driver problem, as the issue isn't happening on my other machine with an NVidia GPU.

  • My computer will no longer stream videos? The videos are choppy and show static?

Hello! My macbook pro just recently stopped streaming videos from facebook, youtube, hulu, etc... The videos are choppy and show static. The sound play back is fine but the picture is definitely unclear. I was hoping that there was a simple solution to this as I have never had an issue with this computer before.
    Thanks,
    Charlotte

Thanks, Lawrence. I figured that was what I was going to have to do in the end. I have a few games with quite a few hours invested, and I worry that I'll lose the progress I have as they do not save to the cloud. I may have to bite the bullet, and just take the plunge to resolve this. I just want a way to easily transfer my "Home Computer" for my iPhone. My laptop is years old and in need of being replaced, and it's about time to upgrade my phone. These life events piling up are making me consider switching to a friendlier OS. I'm not using this as a threat. I just hope some apple high up will read this, and realize that we need alternatives. Life happens.
Thank you both Paul and Lawrence. I clicked "This helped me" not knowing it would remove the option to choose "This fixed my problem" too. For anyone else reading this thread. Using the guide provided has done both. It has helped me and given me a fix to my current problem. Lawrence has also provided me with the last bit of information I feel is missing from wjosten's guide. That syncing will completely erase all of your data and reinstall it in one fell swoop. It's a great fix. Even if it isn't the exact one I wanted. Thank you again!

  • My videos are choppy and I don't know what to do

Using iTunes 6, all of my videos are choppy and won't play correctly. Even the ones that I buy from the music store won't play right. I can open them in QT and they play normally, but if I try to play them through iTunes, it works very poorly.
I was thinking that this was because I haven't upgraded to iTunes 6.0.1, but when I tried twice before, I had to do the whole misconfig deal, and that was too much for me to handle. Any suggestions?

  • Youtube suggested videos are showing over the video playing??

When i go to youtube, i can't see the video playing properly and can't see the quality settings icon for the youtube suggested videos are showing over the video playing. Really annoying, i have to double click to fullscreen to change the quality settings.  How do i fix this?

These installations and settings work for me:
How to view/hear pretty much everything:
Assuming you already run OS 10.4.9 or above and have Quicktime 7.2, and are using Safari 2 or 3, download and install (or re-install even if you already had them) the latest versions, suitable for your flavor of Mac, of:
    RealPlayer from http://uk.real.com/player/
Flip4Mac WMV Player from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/wmcomponents.mspx (Windows Media Player for the Mac is no longer supported, even by Microsoft)
    Perian from http://perian.org/
    Adobe FlashPlayer from http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1ProdVersion=ShockwaveFlash
In Quicktime Preferences, under advanced, UNcheck Enable Flash, and under Mime settings/Miscellananeous only check Quicktime HTML (QHTM).
In Macintosh HD/Library/Quicktime/ delete any files relating to DivX (Perian already has them).
The world should now be your oyster!
You should also have the free VLC Player from http://www.videolan.org/ in your armory, as this plays almost anything that DVD Player might not.

  • Using Flash player even though YouTube HTML5 video player is enabled

I'm in YouTube HTML5 video player beta program (http://youtube.com/html5), but even with it being enabled, every time I play a YouTube video it's still using Flash player.

  • Sound and video are choppy since installing Flash Player 11.3

I'm having a problem here!  Since I updated Adobe Flash Player 11.3, the audio and video are all choppy when I play Adobe Flash game apps in Facebook!  Even when I disabled hardware acceleration, the sound and video are STILL choppy!  Even I watch a YouTube video and the sound and video are a bit choppy!  There's DEFINITELY some sound issues in Flash Player 11.3!  I'm using Firefox 13 in Windows XP SP3.  I'm wondering if you have any answers for the sound issues in FP 11.3.

I went through an annoying password reset process to post on here, haha, I was experiencing this issue and managed to resolve it for a flash animation I was making that was going to be sent out; thus fixing it for myself wouldn't change things for others. I know this is old, but if anyone is in this position, I hope it helps.
I was using Swish Max for my scenario.
Under the Export Settings, I found that by default it was using SWF Version: SWF8 - when it had the option to go up to SWF10. I changed it to 10, and set the hardware acceleration to Level 1 - Direct.
I exported, and it still didn't work. The music was choppy as heck and terribly inconsistent with speed. I even created a preloader, which appeared to work but didn't resolve my issue.
FINALLY, I kept it at version 10, and found that it had an option that said "Preload Content: Disabled." I set that to "At Preload Frame" and though I had a loading animation setup to do the preloading, I still placed a preloadcontent keyframe at frame 1. Then I set Hardware acceleration to Level 2-GPU and exported.
IT WORKED. The terrible, seemingly non-fixable audio cracking lag was gone and it worked flawlessly.
Hope this helps someone, I originally found this when I was trying to find a fix for the issue.

  • Safari 5.1.2 Youtube HTML5-Video issues

Fullscreen-Button on Youtube doesn't work for HTML5 videos on Youtube in Safari. Also there are problems with the video performance. The process QTKitServer Safari Webcontent has 105% CPU, the whole MacBook is very slow in that moment.
This is only a problem in Safari!
Since three years i use Safari for all my work on the net. But after the upgrade to Lion, this browser has a lot of bugs and getting slower and slower. I think it is time to change the browser. :S

Yes. I have the same problem as well. Watching a video on Youtube and the process called QTKitServer goes above 100%. I haven't figured out why (html 5 or fullscreen or whatever) but I didn't noticed it before.
Macbook, Snow Leopard, Safari 5.1.2 with only the Adblock extension running.

  • I just downloaded the adobe 10.3 and now my videos are choppy

okay so when i first downloaded the new adobe the videos wouldnt work at all and after countless restarts and intstalls and uninstalls i gave up. then i found the debuggger and downloaded and now my videos actually played. BUT OH NO the videos are now choppy and like they basically freak out. I have the new safari and a mac os 10.5.8 and i am trying to watch videos on amazon. PLEASE HELp

the debugger will generally run slower than a release build.  you will need to uninstall the urrent player and reinstall the release version of 10.3.

  • Does AMC adjust so YouTube/Vimeo videos are not too dark

Hi, been having problems with videoes coming out too dark in YouTube.  This seems to be a problem lots of people are having.  Just to clarify I mean the video is a lot darker on youtube/vimeo than if played in something like VLC on the same monitor.
Was wondering if ABC brigtened up to image to compensate for this?
    Ben

These are the settings I use for online uploads:
    High Profile @ Level 5.0
    VBR, 2-Pass
    Target Bitrate: 168.75 (max)
    Enable: Maximum Bit Depth
    Key Frame Distance: 7
    Baseline Profile @ Level 5.0
    VBR, 2-Pass
    Target Bitrate: 135 (max)
    Enable: Maximum Bit Depth
    Key Frame Distance: 10
Also: In the Multiplexer tab check that Stream Compatibility is set to Standard. It defaults to iPod.
Try rendering a short test clip using the two settings and let me know how they look in YouTube. If neither file works, please import to your NLE and post a screen capture of the same frame from the ProRes, AME H.264, and transcoded YouTube files. You can download the files from the Video Manager page; the option is listed near the bottom of the pulldown menu that starts with "Edit".
EDIT: Added note regarding multiplexer stream compatibility.

  • Youtube embedded videos are not autoplayed

    Hi
I have put a youtube video embed source in my web page with &autoplay=1 in the embed url . Still the video is not autoplayed.
Did i miss anything to make it autoplay.

Videos don't auto play on the iPad. I've made a few tests to check this out. I made a web page with the standard embed coding (JavaScript) with auto play set to true. The video didn't auto play, I made another video using HTML 5, set to auto play, that didn't auto play too HTML 5 is still in the development stage so some things are not going to work. As for YouTube and a standard embed code not working... Safari on the iPad must be a little flaking when determining the different between HTML 5 and standard embed coding for video. Safari 5 on a desktop works.....

  • Videos are choppy on new Macbook Pro 13''

    Hello everyone,
I just got a new Macbook Pro. I've downloaded the most recent versions of Quicktime and Flash but whenever I try to view a video, it takes a while to start playing and then once it does start it freezes about every 20 seconds. I've tried everything to fix this, but have had no luck so far. The problem is not my wifi because I am able to play videos perfectly on my desktop and my iPod. I have not been able to find any solutions online either. Any suggestions? Should I upgrade to Mavericks and see if that fixes anything? Has anyone solved this issue?

  • Sound and Video are choppy when running on battery

When I try to watch a DVD the video and sound is choppy or if I just listen to a CD or MP3 the sound is choppy.  I think that I set all of the power options to maximum performance while on battery but that did not seem to make a difference.  Can anyone please help me?

  • Youtube html5 video stops loading at one point when watching video with 720p

when i change 360p to 720p its pretty often when Dube stops loading video, in the middle or near the end, its random, but i notice it when video stops playing like when u pause it & sometimes i need to reload page 2-4times before i can finish watching, & sometimes the 3th or 4th time is not reloading its closing Dube & reopening it & then from history selecting that video again
    1. do a lot of people have that issue?
    2. do i half to W8 until HTM5 creators fix the issue?
    3. or can it be fixed by user who is not advanced user?
    4. if yes then how it can be fixed?
    5. or is it Firefox Problem or bug?

  • Firefox doesn't scale YouTube HTML5 videos

It started recently. Most probably after the recent update to 37.0. What's most weird is that when I disable ALL extensions it doesn't help but when I start Firefox via troubleshooting >> without addons... videos scale correctly.
    NOTE:
I use the 125% global system scaling option.
