Youtube menu bar is messed up, why?

Excuse the awful title (I'm bad when it comes to titles).
I got a 3GS one week ago and things have been fantastic with it. Two days ago, I updated to 3.0.1 to patch this SMS vulnerability and when I launched the youtube app I found the the menu bar across the bottom (where there is featured, subscriptions, playlists etc) had shrunk and one of the icons had just, disappeared. I thought nothing of it at first but then, yesterday I launched the app and found another icon had disappeared, now I knew something was wrong. Where as normally there would be 5 icons (or is it 4) along the bottom of the youtube apps, there is now only 3. Two which I can re arrange and then the more icon. I restored the iPhone in iTunes and the icons are still missing. Is anyone else having these problem or does any one know a fix? I've done a google and can't find anything.
Here is a picture of the problem (flickr) http://www.flickr.com/photos/35581816@N03/sets/72157621799448099/
help is greatly appreciated.

I feel like such a stupid person,
I just reset the settings on my iPhone from the settings menu (not restored or deleted anything) and the youtube app is back to normal. I'm so sorry if I wasted anyones time. I feel so stupid. However I'm still curious as to why this happened.

  • Illustrator bug- menu bar all messed up, and it keeps crashing

I have the weirdest bug on my trial version- the menu bar on top appears with $$$ signs and all messed up, and crashes constantly. I tried to delete and reinstall illustrator (I downloaded a trial version of the basic creative suite with Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign, but had the bug only on Illustrator. I even reinstalled Leopard (and in the first installation it was a brand new iMac), which also did not help, so I have no idea what to do. Has anyone else had the problem or knows what to do?
    Thanks!
    Dotan

i had continual illustrator cs4 freezes in relation to the menus and some file types as well. (win 7 prof 64 bit)
But I found it it worked in a newly created user profile fine.
After having shelled out 3500.- eur for the masters colletion, I was rather dissapointed to find that i have to dig into my pocket for support when the software breaks. The solution is pretty simple assumabley known and could have been answered in two lines of text instead of the useless prefab answers i got.
But first I have to join the general gripe about the stability of illustrator and flash in paticular. It is obvious that each product is created by different teams who do not share common standards. Inexplicable.
Quark never cared about their customers while they were market leader either, remember that, Adobe?
Their frustration became your success. It might pay to remember that part of your history.
I solved the problem by replacing the entire settings folder with the one from the functional profile
    C:\Users\user-name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CS4 Settings
save any custom color sets, etc first.
three days of hair pulling for a 12 second solution.
    Thanks, Adobe!
My motivation to pay another 1200.- for an upgrade is somehow shrinking very, very quickly.

  • YouTube Menu Bar Remains Visible In Fullscreen

Very recently, whenever I watch a YouTube video in fullscreen on safari, the menu bar doesn't disappear like it normally did. I updated to Yosemite last week, and initially this wasn't a problem, so I'm ruling out the OS for now. Therefore I can only assume that it's a HTML issue. Is anyone noticing this issue at the moment, and better yet, does anyone know a way to fix it?

That's just a temporary fix : put your pointer in the bottom left corner once in fullscreen, and they will go away.
Whenever the bars disappear, you can move your mouse once again to get rid of the tiny little white pixel left by the mouse.

  • Horiz Menu Bar (in a template) Messed up on PHP page; Only in IE Browser

I have redesigned a fairly large website for someone (I'm using DW CS3) and I developed a template which includes a Spry Horizontal Menu Bar. The menu bar was working fine on all of the HTML pages. As I come to the end of my project, I have created a PHP page (using my template with the horizontal menu bar) because I have included a PHP script for an Events Calendar (ComDevWeb).  Ever since I added the includes for the calendar, the horizontal menu bar gets messed up when viewing the page with IE. The menu bar looks fine on all of the other html pages. The menu bar on the PHP page also looks fine when I view it with Safari or Mozilla. Since the menu bar is in the template (that will affect every other page that is working just fine), I'm not sure how to proceed with my troubleshooting.
    Here is the website: www.ourtruecolors.org/newsite
Here is the PHP page with the calendar (where the horiz menu bar appears messed up in IE, but looks fine in Safari & Mozilla browsers): http://www.ourtruecolors.org/calendar/index.php

  • 10.4.4 Strange Problem – Menu Bar Icons

I installed the OS X 10.4.4 update through Software Update this morning, repairing permissions before and afterwards. Although the installation seemed to work fine, there is now a strange problem which has happened since I first re-started the Mac.
The left side of the menu bar is working normally, with the curved corner and apple/application menus, but all the icons, the clock, and even Spotlight have disappeared from the right.
Even stranger, the top-right corner is not curved, but is square and extends right to the corner of the monitor.
I did use ShapeShifter, but I doubt this has caused the error as I disabled it before the update, and have not re-enabled it since.
Does anyone have any idea what's happened, or what I should do about it?

    I had the same problem.
I updated to 10.4.4 a few days ago. After restarting, the entire top right of the menu bar disappeared, went missing.
The corner of the screen became square rather than the usual rounded effect. the clock disappeared, as well as all the items up there .. battery, airport, bluetooth, etc. It all just disappeared.
It made no difference at all if you went to the control panel and turned on the items again ... the whole top-right area of the menu bar was messed up.
Based on the info in the previous - THANKS - here is how I fixed the problem.
I got my other laptop (I guess if you're an OSX user, it's good to have two laptops!) which still had a working menu bar. I copied the folder
    /System/Library/CoreServices/Search.bundle
from my working powerbook to the powerbook with the missing menu bar. You will have to be able to log in as root on the target machine to do this.
I simply restarted and then everythying was fine. I did NOT have to resinstall 10.4.4 or anything.
    Why does it happen?
I too had got rid of the spotlight search field at the top right of the menu bar by dsoing the usual hack to get rid of it. It appears this interacts badly with the updates.
Since a large percentage of users want to get rid of the spotlight search field in the menu bar, this will probably be an ongoing problem with each new upgrade...

  • Problem with spry menu bar

i'm using dreamweaver CS3 to create a website using php
scripting. for some reason, my spry menu bar has become messed up.
it is now in bulleted form and the font and font color are all
wrong. i checked but the styles are turned on.. so how can i solve
    this?

Find that some reason that the spry menu bar became messed up
and revert to how it was before that some reason occurred.
    Hope that helps!

  • My menu bar is screwed up

I just updated to Mavericks and as you'll see, the menu bar is messed up.
I've reset PRAM, rebooted the computer a few times and it still looks like this.
I notice that when it's plugged into a second display, the menu looks like this and the second menu bar is also messed up.
When I unplug, it seems to look normal on the macbook air (1 prior to latest gen) but when I plub back in they both get messed up
Here's what it looks like on the Macbook Air while the second monitor is plugged in.
The second screen sometimes looks normal, and other times looks similar to the above.
    Help please!!

What happens if you create a new Admin account, then reboot into that account? Do you still see the same issues? If not, the problem is related to some 3rd party software, probably in your login items. Remove everything from your login items and reboot.
If you still see the same problem in a new user account, reboot in Safe Mode (restart while holding down the shift key). Login to your normal account, then log out, and reboot normally and test for the problem.

  • IE Browser Issue with Spry Menu Bar {screen-capture attached}

Hi there, my horizontal spry menu bar is messing up when viwed in Internet Eplorer, HTML shows no errors, after extensive testing still cant find a solution.  As you will be aware IE is a popular browser so its imperative i resolve the issue.  The site is http://www.theboxinghistorian.com/
    View in Chrome and Firefox
    View in Internet explorer (IE)
    Here is the HTML code
Hope this is enough information for a solution.
    Thank you for your time
    Mark

I've never used Spry, so take this with a huge grain of salt.. looking at your html, I am kinda wondering how come the 2nd level of the nested list items making up your submenu items arent assigned a different css style - and therefore is your css file setup to handle this change in orientation properly..
You got a class=MenuBarSubItem" on your Championship History, but theres nothing in your html (other than the nested ul within #Menubar1) to indicate that Heavyweight, Cruiserweight, etc. are 2nd Level MenuItems which should be using a different css style.. therefore it would be up to your CSS to handle this change in how these 2nd level sub menu items gets displayed.. looks like this isn't happening for MSIE, as MSIE keeps floating your 2nd level/submenu items horizontally instead of stringing them up vertically.. You may be missing a style rule in your css, but how come FF gets it right?
If I were to recreate this menu myself, I would assign a new css class to make sure my submenu items dont end up floated next to each other.. But then again, i have no clue about Spry, so I might just be rambling nonsense here...

  • IE messing up my menu bar?

I have a horizontal Spry menu bar which works beautifully in opera, safari, firefox, google chrome... but in internet explorer, it just won't work. The drop down part of the menu is appearing right at the side of the page, miles away from its parent. Can't post the CSS and HTML because am doing the website for someone else, but does anyone have any idea why IE does this? I've checked and double checked all the javascript, CSS, HTML... but to no avail. Besides, that doesn't make sense, as if I'd made I mistake, surely it would show up in other browsers?
urgh, I have never hated internet explorer so much as I do today...

The original Spry files, that is those that have not been touched by budding web developers, work extremely well in all browsers!

Without seeing any code, I am safe in saying that your problem is caused by your messing around of the CSS file.

If you haven't made a mistake, then I believe that we cannot help you, even if we are privy to the code.

Because IE is used by more than 85% of all available browsers, I think you will have to learn to un-hate IE.
    I hope this helps.

Hello. I've Apple TV 3rd gen and MacBook Pro 2013 all with latest updates. AirPlay works fine till I don't start streaming videos from YouTube. After that AirPlay icon from MacBook menu bar simply disappears. Could some help. I'm using 2 Mbps internet connection.

Same issue here- I can airplay my amazon prime library just fine from my iphone 5 but on my macbook- (mavericks, 15 inch 2013 retina with quad core i7, nvidia 650 M and SSD) it just sputters and lags.
I have noticed web video is considerably worse than local content, giving me pauses of up to 2 or 3 seconds in which video stops but audio continues in the amazon player. Youku video, however, seems relatively stable. Our subscription speed is 25 mbps, so that should be plenty to stream SD video from Amazon and doesn't account for why it would be nice and stable from the iphone, but not the mbp.
Playing light, locally hosted steam sidescrollers  like Limbo is better but gives periodic drops in framerate on the Tv. when mirroring the framerate remains steady on the MBP screen.
Games airplayed from my iphone seem relatively stable, though with a noticably lower framerate on the TV than on the phone.
It seems these issues have abated considerably since yesterday's Apple TV update, but are still curious nonetheless and I'm not sure that the update yesterday was specifically meant to address those issues or if I'm just getting a time with less network interference now.
Comcast recently installed a new router/modem/phone combo, replacing our old separate modem and router setup. I'm going to test if putting the network on a different channel helps.

    How?

  • Seriously Apple, why can't Leopard render a transparent menu bar on my Mac?

I have a 2-year-old PowerBook 12" 1.5 GHz running Leopard 10.5.2 freshly updated today. I thought for sure I'd get to see a translucent menu bar but, no, still opaque as ever with no option to change.
Apple, let me tell you some of the things this pretty capable computer can do:
-Dynamically render transparency and reflections in a magnifying Dock
-Dynamically render transparency in Terminal windows with varying levels of transparency
-Render GPU-intensive animations such as Genie effect, rotating cube, and dashboard "splash"
-Hey, I can even boot into Linux, run Gnome, and make it's menu bar transparent!
Please stop telling me my computer is not compatible enough to display a translucent menu bar. Displaying the transparency in the menu bar has got to be one of the least intensive operations Leopard will do. It is a static image (save for seldom changing menu items) that rarely needs to be re-rendered. Terminal windows, however, get resized, dragged around and display their transparency beautifully.
Let's get some straight answers as to why this simple issue of getting a Transparent menu bar consistently displayed (ot not displayed, by choice) across all of your "compatible" hardware is such a confusing mystery.
Thanks for fixing the Stacks, at least.

Thanks for your input. While you may not mind a solid menu bar, I quite like it and would like to have one. My main gripe however, is the fact that this really just seems like some bug that Apple isn't willing to focus on, or admit to.
They say the graphics card can render "most effects" but not the menu bar. But, seriously, as I've mentioned before, why can it render transparent drop-down menus, transparent Terminal windows, transparent/reflective Dock, Dashboard ripple effect but not a simple, basic, transparent menu?
Once I get a decent answer to this, I'll be satisfied. Because right now, telling me my 64MB graphics card can't handle it seems like a load of bulls**t.

  • PS CS5 messes up menu bar; dialog boxes distort during drag; etc

I'm having weird problems with Photoshop CS5.  I'd love help, or even tips for how to frame the question when searching for help.
    Here are the symptoms:
    - After starting PS, if I open any dialog box and then close it, after closing the PS menu bar is corrupted -- it looks like a single row of pixels is missing through the File, Edit, Image, etc words, and at the right end of the menu bar, the three control icons are overlain with Windows control icons.  Both these problems can be seen in the screen capture image below.
    - When a dialog box is open, if I drag it around, it gets clipped as repainting tries to keep up with the mouse.  It's always rectangular, but edges flicker off to varying depths as it repaints to move.  When the mouse stops, the repaint works and it looks fine.  While moving, the faster the movement, the worse the effect.
    - When using tools such as Lasso select, the movement feedback (the selection gray line) lags a few millimeters or more, depending on speed.
To me it looks like an application + video driver problem, but all s/w is up to date.  Messing with OpenGL setting (Edit->Preferences) doesn't affect things; it acts the same with OpenGL on or off, basic, normal, or advanced.  My video card is displayed correctly in the Edit->Preference: Performance box.
The first problem (menu bar corruption) is obviously least interfering and I believe has been with me longest.  The latter two problems make PS somewhat difficult to use, and I believe showed up in the last few months (since the last time I used PS intensively, about 8 months ago).  I can't recall for sure, but I think I installed updates to both PS and ATI drivers in the last 8 months (ie., so both could be suspects).
Any ideas what is wrong, or what to search for?  What would be a good search query for this sort of problem set?
Does this seem to be an Adobe problem, or ATI, or who?
    Here's my set-up:
    - Dell Inspiron 580 with 6 GB RAM
    - ATI Radeon HD 5450
    - Windows 7 64-bit
    - PS CS5 standard edition
    Thanks for help and/or ideas!

I don't know about pre-packaged themes, but what I do is along these lines:
    Minimize Chrome on the Desktop
If you have a sharp monitor, good eyes, and don't like that Microsoft has made all the useless chrome and border space around everything larger in the later versions of Windows, you'll likely want to minimize it to make more room to do real work...
    ·    Right-click on Desktop - Personalize, ensure the Windows 7 Aero theme is selected
    ·    Choose Window Color – Advanced appearance settings...
    ·    Active Title Bar item to size 17.
    ·    Menu item to Size 15, font Segoe UI size 8.
    ·    Border Padding item to size 0.
    ·    Scroll Bar item to size 16.
    ·    Caption Buttons item to size 16.
    ·    Icon Spacing (Horizontal) item to size 27.
    ·    Icon Spacing (Vertical) item to size 41.
You can experiment with these settings to find a balance you like.
    Hope this helps!

Doesn't any bring up the fact that Apple has so many customers with problems that the refuse to help unless you pay them cash? They update you and screw you over and then offer no useful troubleshooting scenarioius to help their millions of customers. It is because they want millions of our dollars. I hate Apple.
